POKEMON RANGERS: GAME ON THE EDGE! (NO SV YOU are a HERO in a VILLIANS VICTORIOUS WORLD!)

They don't know him...and Guzma's still got to work on his image.
fair. They probably expected someone more professional, considering us and got...
Well, GUZMA. Probably would change a bit once they got to know him better, but yeah.
Can't help but wonder the interesting chaos putting the explorer architect, personal combat master and infiltrator, and guzma in the same room.:D

Aether Quest
Aether Foundation

(Lusamine POV)

"The situation can best be described as a Multiversal causality Collapse." You heard Dr. Faba say calmly as you looked at him.

"Will it delay the project?" You said calmly.

"No…if anything it will give us samples and examples that will work to hasten Phase 1 in its entirety." He said calmly.

"Admin Wike…what of our feelers in the Region, have they come back with any good news on future assets." You said.

"No…Chairman, we are dealing with restructuring and rearming our PMC department so we can better prepare our forces for active violent contact." She said.

"Well tell me how that's going?" You said.

[]From the Stars to Sandbars of Work: Your Operation requires a certain degree of violence. For the Pokemon's sake of course…find a suitable Military Commander to fit your needs. Rolled:
D100 => 82

"We'll just buzz him in." She said.

A young man with glasses walked into the conference room and took a seat. "First Lieutenant of the White Whales BLADE Military Detachment Hector Birtwhistle."

"Ahh, an officer good. What we expect is effectiveness and discretion in our work." You said.

"Will I have a budget befitting my situation?" He said. "Skell maintenance isn't Cheap?"

"What?" You said.

"He brought a Giant Robot." Faba said.

"Bring it to RnD, unless he needs it and go and get him a team that will be worth its salt…also get him acquainted with Pokemon slowly." You said.

"Welcome to the Aether Foundation." You finished with a smile.

Reward: The Aether Foundation gains Martial Advisor Hector Birtwhistle and his Skell unit, New Actions related to RnD and Martial.

PMC Unit Re-established.
We rolled a 92, and we got THAT GUY...
Hey, at least we are at least trying to stop necrizma from destroying everything, that should help keep him on board
I mean, he is a BLADE elite! He brings a mecha, some decent tech, and combat experience. He may be self-absorbed, but as said our main mission very much lessens the chances he may abandon us.
Plus, the tech could very much help us in the upcoming conflicts. I mean, that ranger might try something dumb while we are trying to save the world. Not to mention Necrozma.

I still say we need to keep a very close eye on Faba. Isn't his thing pretty much being a mad scientist convinced of his superiority, and is is almost a given he worked behind lusamine's back pretty much every timeline.
Could we PLEASE think of maybe choosing to see a psychologist or take a mental health day or something? I think that doing so might help clear up some things.

We have too much to do and too little time, we need to keep growing in power and studying ultrabeasts o beat necrozma.
In how many timelines had that not ended well? Because we not only kind of have a bit of an obsession, but also we have someone very intent on trying to earn recognition from us, whom might spark an incident because of our obsession
Wasn't he trying to outright coup the company in the manga?
Why would he? Nilhego could destroy everything rendering that moot.
Why would he? Nilhego could destroy everything rendering that moot.
I think you mean Necrozma, Nilhego is the jellyfish that has a habit of kidnapping our MC in the canon materials.

Not if we deal with it first, or get all of the tools to do so before he acts, and he doesn't even need to actually try to off us, considering Lusamine's current emotional state and obsessions. Also, one of the biggest factors, have ran away after incidents. I am STILL suspicious about the story Faba fed us.

Can we please don't bring that up again? We simply don't have any other source of information, and we are still very busy, can't really afford the actions to chance after something that may not be there
Do we know if faba made Type:Null yet?

A/N: Well, looking up the manga lusamine and faba. Well...
Chances are Lusamine is a nervous wreck only pushing forward with the belief necrozma must be stopped, while skirting dangerously close to her general obsession in the process, while faba is doing faba things, and possibly nudging things with the intention of taking control of the organization. And the poor negaquest needs to stop necrozma while also deal with the unreliable narrator that is Lusamine that is very much in need of help, with arguments over whenever Faba could be trusted.

So I like this questhough I have a few question

1. what's lusamine's status is she evil, insane,in over her head, got messed up due to nihlego toxins or a mix of the above

2. so whats the status of necrozma both pre getting back stabbed and post in this ques like how nice was he before humanity betrayed him and is he evil afterwards or only in a bunch of pain
3. if other teams exist in to does that mean team galactic is running around since I don't want cyrus to rewrite reality.

Honestly, from what I remember in the games, and the recently looked up manga info...
Lusamine is likely in a very bad headspace right now, and may in fact only be holding herself together with the goal to stop Nilhego. And Faba, is probably doing his own thing behind her back.

[X] Plan: Integrate

...Is Ransei doing their own thing in the background somewhere? We might want to try and contact them at some point. I mean, I could totally see some idiot deciding they look like easy pickings due to their feudal style, only to find a vast army of psudo-sync pairs ready to show just how powerful human-pokemon duos can get.

Also, what is Lear up to? We know when he was defeated by Red somewhere, he was inspired to start his little Pasio project...

Metal Beasts

"Look Snake, as an official member of Team Skull, we need too get you a pokemon." Guzma said, the tired soldier looking at him with a quirked eyebrow as he read the news.

"No" He bluntly said, before returning too the paper.

"C'mon dude, you gotta have some cred as a member of this gang." Guzma said, picking him up "Even just one Pokemon would be enough."

"Fine" The veteran groaned "But if we don't find any that fit, then I'm leaving." He said

///

"Nope" He said, looking at a meowth

"No" He dismissed a fletching, putting it back in it's birdcage.

"Definitly not" He said too a Tyranitar

Wait how did that get here?

"Look, I appreciate this kid, but I don't think any of these pokemon things suit guys like me." Snake said, sitting down as Guzma crossed his brow.

"There has too be something here, there's a pokemon for everyone." He insisted, Snake shaking his head

"Guzma, I'm just not one too raise animals. So maybe its better too let sleeping dogs lye." He told him, only for Guzma too muse on his words.

"Dogs... dogs... DOGS!" Guzma realised, slapping his fist into his palm as he grinned "You wait right here!" He told Snake before rushing off.

Emergining not 2 minutes later with something wrapped up in towels as he handed it over too the former soldier. "Here, this is the answer to all your problems!"

"Guzma, what could possibly be in- Snake's words were held back as the bundle of clothe opened up too revealed the black muzzle and yellow eyes of a poocheyena.

"Dog, pratical, and can be easily trained. Perfect for a military man like you" Guzma said, Snake looking into the pups eyes as its wet nose rubbed against his chin.

Snake pausing for a bit, before letting a gentle smile too his face as he rubbed the little pup on the nose.

"I think he'll be good enough." He told Guzma, the smug grin he got back in return telling him that it was worth the wait for the both of them after spending the better part of an hour looking for a partner.

The two getting Snake retrofitted with a pokeball for his pupster partner, right before getting too the most important part...

"Now give it a name" Guzma said with the most serious expression on his face "Thats what makes pokemon special from its species, the love you put into it through its name."

Snake petted his new poocheyena on the head as the frail pup looked up too him

"Welcome too the Squad... DC"

The Ransei Samurai
Ransei is a land full of curious traditions, and a very unique relation with Pokémon. Even now you would be hard-pressed to find pokeballs because, honestly, people don't see a need for them. In fact, the way they interact with pokemon may be older than the technology of the pokeball itself! Samurai are notable people, because they have shown the ability to bond with pokemon, and many have bonded with multiple.

The way they approach combat is rather unique, for they seem to tend to fight alongside pokemon, and it seems as if they might be drawing strength from each other, which might be part of why there is only so many Samurai, and why they typically fight in pairs, instead of the trainer's style of leading squads of pokemon. And perhaps the most well known is the leader of Ransei, whom managed to the out a whole team of pokemon with just an eevee. The most interesting thing watching the footage is how the two seemed to fight almost like one being, fighting in perfect sync with each other, while also seeming to enhance each other in order to achieve feats they almost certainly shouldn't have been able to do. This, while we have no clue how it happens, with the Samurai taking the mysterious affect in stride, with no-one really understanding why it happens.

It is entirely possible that they are tapping into the same mysterious force that the mega stones used, or an entirely different source, though there is no way to tell for sure without ways to sense or track the energy. Though it might be partially why the Samurai generally tend to fight alongside only one of their partners at a time while others tend to fight with six, possibly due to the more complicated dynamics behind whatever it is that enables the power sharing, or possibly it's more due to the fact that adding more that isn't sufficiently bonded might weaken the connection. Considering the lack of researchers looking into this phenomena, and how little understood other loosly similar ones are, it is likely to be an interesting, and lengthy project.

A/N: Well, decided to try and write a sort of 'analysis' of Ransei Samurai, which admittedly involve some conjecture. Especially when it comes to the whole affinity thing, which can really significantly empower pokemon, and of course I also assumed the armor and such isn't just for show. Though it is a very real possability, that much like the whole ash-greninga thing in the anime is likely a more natural counterpart to mega-evolution, their thing might be a more natural version of the sync stone stuff from pokemon masters.

The Various known empowerment methods of Pokémon
Mega Evolution
Mega evolution is achieved through a key stone and a mega stone that corresponds to a recipient Pokémon. Normally, a strong bond is required to trigger. (even though sometimes a badly structured bond seems to cause problems, such as in the anime, when Korrina's Lucario had problems getting overwhelmed, possibly connected to the type of bond that formed due to being raised together)
They impart temporary transformations onto the recipient Pokémon, that also can give unique capabilities, that are not always without possible downsides. Of which Lucario are the most notable cases, where they risk being overwhelmed by their new senses, which if it happens tend to make them very dangerous to everyone around as they fall back to their instincts. Though, it is possible to subvert the bond requirement, it tends to not be a good thing due to the fact the bond seems to serve as a stabilizing influence on the imparted energy. Which, seems to likely be bad for the Pokémon, and could be bad for everyone in the area, considering Lucario isn't the only mega evolution that risks a rampage without sufficient stabilizing influence.
Battle Bond

A technique lost in time, due to both it's downsides and extreme requirements. This is a special not quite mega evolution that is just as much of a power boost and maybe more so. But not only does it require perfect sync between both Pokémon and human to trigger, it is also massively draining, and injuries to one may be shared with the other. These details imply that Battle Bond may be a precursor to Mega Evolution, with the mega stones and rings being designed to both make it easier to trigger, but also likely lessen the load on the trainer.

Z-Moves
These are special moves that channel energy into one super-attack. The crystals used as a catalyst seem to self-destruct for some reason though we aren't sure exactly why. Possibly linked to challenges somehow considering the island trials. Both scientifically, doesn't seem clear, and honestly am not sure myself. Also interesting note, one can pull power from a mega wormhole as sun did it in the manga.
While Z-Rings are generally considered necessary for using Z-moves, it seems that it is possible to use sparkling stones, going by a few stories that are circulating. But of course, being in it's unrefined state, it is far more taxing and can cause the trainer to black out in exhaustion. Another interesting note, is that the move can accept power from multiple sources, enabling a large group to contribute to the move, and while tiring for the Pokémon, training can help lessen the impact.

Gigantimax
While still little understood, it seems to enlarge Pokémon without actually affecting their weight, while also giving a significant strength boost. Some Pokémon are just simply bigger, but others look distinctly different, like say Snorlax having stuff grow stuff like grass and a tree on it's belly.Limited both because I am not sure if Rose has yet to discover it's use as a power source, and details on how it will work.

Ransei Bond Phenomena
While little understood, and being far less flashy than any of the other empowerment methods. It is hard to tell how much it does and how much is training, as it seems to improve the capabilities of both human and Pokémon, while not actually making any easy to tell difference, partly because it doesn't exatly have an 'off switch' we could flip to see the baseline. We aren't even sure how a Samurai working with two pokemon would affect this phenomena.
Sync Stones

This was found during the construction of Pasio, which probably hasn't started yet. It may serve as a refined equivalent of Ransei's bonds much like Mega Evolution is to Battle bonds. But of course, unlike Mega evolution, it seems limited in it's spread considering how it was lost much like battle bond was, which is quite the inverse. This could be manipulated to enhance power at the expense of the Pokémon, as shown in the game story when Giovanni did that. Though, interesting note is that Eternatus could feed itself using energy from sync stones.

Shadow Pokémon

It seems that it is a 'empowerment' that might happen in cases of extreme shock and trauma. Team Cipher discovers a way to activate it in a process they call 'sealing the hearts of Pokémon'. Shadow Pokémon lose all inhibitions and will not hold anything back, and tend to be very self-destructive. Especially during the rehabilitation process, they can be a danger to others including their own trainer when they get overwhelmed by emotions.

A/N: Decided to try and write a thing covering various power methods. Also, I put things that are probably useful/important which are unlikely to be known IC in verse right now in spoilers hidden in this, as well as some OOC bits. And yes, Cipher is a special brand of nasty.
