You knew a Fairy Godmother from the Marchen Kingdom would be here in only a couple of hours, there to give anyone eligible and willing to take on the Pokemon League their Starter, yet your oldest sister had sent you upstairs to clean the attic, even locking the attic trapdoor below you until she deemed your work 'all done'.

At least this was nothing you weren't used to, your two older sisters had inflicted worse upon in the past, enough to make most of your Trainers' School memories into living nightmares. Still, looking around your vast, cluttered attic, that had only a mere slit of a window for any light, you strained to not cough from all the dust and could only feel your heart sink.

Almost out of habit you set out on dusting up as much of the attic as you could, even if your heart kept urging you to try crawling out the tiny window anyway and make a break for it. And yet, resigning yourself to cleaning this darkness-drenched attic turned out to have one benefit.

As you reached down in between cardboard boxes, you felt your hand touching something metal that suddenly started emitting a blue light. You pulled it out and saw it was... none other than a PokeDex, now old, smeared and cracked but still one nevertheless.
That alone would be quite the find, but as you squinted through the dim light, what caught your eye even more was the now-faded signature inscribed upon it:
'Professor Hildegarde Linden'.

T-this was your mother's?! ...You guessed that she must've been in such a rush to get away after the divorce, she left this behind. As the Pokemon Professor she could easily obtain another one, so there'd be little point in coming back for it. Doubly so, as most of the files it had were listed as decades old, and those were the ones that hadn't devolved into a glitchy mess.

"Bzzt..." You heard a synthetic voice from the Dex creak and groan "New user identified, fingerprint and facial features resembling -bzzt- -whirr- that of previous owner. Please register by -bzzt- inputting your name -whirr-"
Wait, really? Well... what could be the harm?
[ ] Cinders.
[ ] Midnight.
[ ] Astrid.
[ ] Rachel.
[ ] Lisbeth.
[ ] Judith.
[ ] Write-in.
(Wikipedia category page for German girls' names)

"-Beep- Name in database, registered. -Whirr- Welcome, new user, to the start of your Pokemon journey through the -wheeze- -bzzt- magical and scientific Deuto Region" the Dex's faltering electronic voice creaked out, as images of various Pokemon, like rabbits with clocks for stomachs, icy rodents wearing royal purple cloaks, tiny elves clutching poisoned bows and giant human-like machines, all flashed by, distorted as they now were.

You checked the other names in its database and saw that, along with yourself and your mother, your older sisters' names had also been inputted, you assumed your mother didn't know what sort of people they'd grow to become. They were:
[ ] Maria & Anna.
[ ] Aloysia & Ethel.
[ ] Geraldina & Evonna.
[ ] Alexis & Georgia.
[ ] Write-in.

Lastly you could see an image of an orange-brown-haired woman similar to yourself, her hair reaching past her shoulders though, being slowly digitized over to be replaced by your own appearance. Wait, was that old image your mother when she was younger?

Your attention was then dragged away from this PokeDex when you heard raised voices coming from outside. Scrambling over to the attic window, you could see down below in Aschen Village's square that your older sisters, the oldest who'd locked you here in the first place having long, dark blue hair and wearing a golden summer dress, the second oldest with lighter pigtails lagging behind, were already meeting with an older woman in an elaborate, sparkling pink dress.

"W-what? No, there's nobody else here!" You heard your older sister protesting, with the other hurriedly agreeing. Almost fuming, you struggled your way out through that one tiny window, then tried to run across the tiles on your roof, having had to flail your arms wildly to keep from falling, before you gulped and slid down a rickety drainpipe.

"Ah, so we have indeed another here" the sparkling woman smiled at you and then said "Welcome my dear, we here from the Marchen Kingdom believe in putting wonder and magic back into the world, and so that wonder may be bestowed upon this town, we are here to give those to wish their very first Pokemon".

"W-why you! Please, Fairy Godmother, Madame of Marchen, t-this girl you see here's just a maid! She's absolutely nobody you'd ever think of entrusting with a Pokemon!" your oldest sister lashed out. You could see on your front lawn your father trying to raise his voice, but a quick glare from your sister sent him shrinking down.

"If she's able and willing, she's entitled to a Pokemon," the Fairy Godmother said in an abruptly sterner tone. "Plus if she's a maid, the more she'll likely need a Pokemon to help out with all the housework, won't she?" her face shifted back to a sunny smile.

A Pokemon of this Good Fairy's own, who you think you could recognise from old storybooks you'd read as a 'Gardevoir', though a different colour than she'd been depicted as, teleported over three Pokeballs your way.
"Now my child" began the Fairy Godmother "do you choose-
[ ] Cattleaf, the Grass Pokemon?" She showed a young cow or bull, with hedge-like horns and hooves and an ivy wreath nose-ring.

[ ] "Kindeer, the Fire Pokemon?" She showed a young red deer with tiny charcoal twigs for antlers and a flaming nose.

QM's Note: Little Pokemon Quest I thought I'd start up while waiting for Xalgeon to write up the next post for Persona 5.5.
Another idea I had for the title was 'Pokemon RoseRed & SnowWhite' but I was worried that would suggest a more immediate connection with the Red or White versions.

Deuto Town Map
Lastly, reserved for the Deuto Town Map.

Note that the order the towns and routes are listed may not reflect the exact course this journey takes:

Aschenputtel Village

Your hometown, a quiet, out of the way place known regardless for being the 'Birthplace of Adventure', with many tall tales having gotten their start here.

Rattenfanger Town

North from Aschenputtel, a slightly larger, old cobblestone town most infamous for having all its children be spirited away, ages and ages ago.

Bohnenstange City

Huh, doesn't appear this city exists...

Siebenzwerge City

A vast, steel-grey city on the northern banks of the Wagner River, known for being a centre of industry, business and mining, with the Siebenzwerge Mining Complex being just to the northeast. When at play, it along with Sneewittchen have become renowned for their Pokemon Carnivals, leading to something of a rivalry between the two. Siebenzwerge also has a sizable population from Kanto, Johto, Hoenn and Sinnoh.

Lebkuchen City

Just east of Rattenfanger, in the foothills that rise up to the dark and magical Mt Hexendrei in the Schwarzkatze Ranges.
Lebkuchen is something of a hub for North Deuto, located in a central position with many roads stretching in all directions.

Meerjungfrau City

A major harbour city, with ships coming in from all over the world. The entire city is criss-crossed by canals, possibly moreso than any other city.

Musikstadt City

Another port city, west of Meerjungfrau along the sandbanks and mud-flats of Deuto's northwest coast. Known for its music, both medieval and modern, and in tales for a band of musicians that never actually made it there.

Muttergans Capital

The Region's Capital City, once divided in two by a now torn-down wall, distinct identities still existing between the West and East to this day. Known for its culture, fashion and nightlife, huge swathes of the city are covered in forests and gardens.

Wunderlampe City

Near the source of the Andersen River, a valley city surrounded by mountains of steel and sand. Known for its elegant old architecture from centuries past.

Dornrosen Town

Said to be located near the geographical centre of Deuto, its medieval old town is one of the best preserved in Deuto. Known as an old cultural centre of writing, music and architecture.

Schwansee Town

An other sleepy town that came into the spotlight for being the residence of an infamous opera composer, a specially-designed opera house being at its centre. Great forests lie to the south and north of the town.

Froschkonig City

The biggest city in southern Deuto, known worldwide for its festivities. Modern as it is ancient, its surrounded by fairy-tale castles and some of Deuto's tallest mountains.

Stilzchen City

The throbbing matrix of southwest Deuto, a centre of technology near the mouth of the great Winterfee Forest.

Rotkappchen City

Built astride the Grimm River, a major world centre of commerce and culture, having on of its busiest airports. Arguably to the air as Meerjungfrau is to the sea.

Sneewittchen City

Siebenzwerge's rival city, over on the south bank of the River Wagner. Has many bridges that cross the Wagner, an equally as uproarious carnival and many art galleries that cover history from millennia ago till today.

Rundertisch League

Once the main court and castle of an ancient emperor and his knights, now the site of Deuto's Pokemon League.

Route 1 (Between Aschenputtel and Rattenfanger)

A short stroll to the north, Burrodgers dart in and out of the ground as they're chased by Dachsprings.

Route 2 (Between Rattenfanger and Bohnenstange)

West of Rattenfenger lies the Irminsul Woods, the site of a bloody ambush at the very beginning of Deuto's history.

Route 3 (Between Bohnenstange and Siebenzwerge)

A long stretch across plain and hills, mostly taken up by the Cycling Road. Towards the Siebenzwerge end the landscape becomes dotted with mines, most famously the Siebenzwerge Mining Complex.

Route 4 (Between Rattenfanger and Lebkuchen)

A short, hilly climb, part of an ascent that, once you step beyond Lebkuchen, leads into the Schwarzkatze Ranges.

Route 5 (Between Lebkuchen and Meerjungfrau)

A strech of low-lying moors and marshes, with many little rivers snaking their way into Meerjungfrau's canals, the most famous and not-so-little of them being the River Andersen.

Route 6 (Between Meerjungfrau and Musikstadt)

A long stretch of mud-flats and stony shores along Deuto's northwest coast, soundtracked by the loud horns of cargo ships making their way to port.

Route 7 (Between Meerjungfrau and Chalkcliff Island)

A short walk down to the coast, followed by a long sea journey across the northeast sea to the famed Chalkcliff Island resort and reserve. Along the coast can be found the Ancient University.

Route 8 (Between Chalkcliff Island and Muttergans)

The long walk down from Chalkcliff, over the bridge back to the mainland and across a great succession of forests in East Deuto, the most notable of them being the Fruhlinfee Forest.

Route 9 (Between Muttergans and Lebkuchen)

Going back to Lebkuchen takes you along the northern slopes of the Schwarzkatze Ranges, passing the infamous Mt Hexendrei. But by far the most stand-out feature of this road is the ruined city of Feuervogel at the halfway point.

Route 10 (Between Muttergans and Wunderlampe)

Heading out through forest and swamp and into a series of Artificial Lakes, then downhill into the Andersen River Valley.

Route 11 (Between Wunderlampe and Dornrosen)

The heavy hike up over the Aura Mountains, dotted with ancient mines filled with gleaming metals.

Route 12 (Between Dornrosen and Lebkuchen)

The road through the heartland of Deuto, marked by more foothills lying at the southern edge of the Schwarzkatze Ranges. A certain stretch lies covered in thorns, said to be there from a witch's or fairy's curse.

Route 13 (Between Dornrosen and Schwansee)

The trek through the Sommerfee Forest and the hillsides it covers.

Route 14 (Between Schwansee and Froschkonig)

Heading into the south of Deuto, the hills rise more and more as to start to reach the Alps. This region also has a reputation for stargazing, with Deuto's oldest observatory lying along the road here.

Route 15 (Between Froschkonig and Mt Marble)

A walk east through the Herbstfee Forest that lies on the border of Deuto, towards the ancient Mt Marble, haunted by long-dead knights and ravens.

Route 16 (Between Froschkonig and Mt Mammoth)

Heading southwest from Froschkonig up to the snowy slopes of the highest peak in Deuto, avalanche-prone Mt Mammoth, whose trails get smaller and smaller as you near the summit. Along the slopes is also situated the Marchenkoenig's Castle.

Route 17 (Between Froschkonig and Stilzchen)

Heading northwest along the shadow of the Alps, this area is flanked by the River Grimm to the north and River Perrault to the south. One of Deuto's highest towers is located along here.

Route 18 (Between Winterfee Forest and Lake Crystal)

Heading back east out of the greatest of Deuto's forests, up towards its largest lake, situated in the alpine air.

Route 19 (Between Stilzchen and Rotkappchen)

A stroll slightly to the west, then a long walk up along the River Wagner, passing by the gothic and mystical Salamander Castle.

Route 20 (Between Rotkappchen and Dornrosen)

Crossing over the Gnome Ranges before the long and slow descent northeast through central Deuto.

Route 21 (Between Rotkappchen and Sneewittchen)

A walk west up the banks of River Wagner and through a canyon-like gorge where lies the treacherous Ondine Rock.

Route 22 (Between Sneewitchen and Siebenzwerge)

Mainly consisting of Sylph Bridge, one long steel crossing over the River Wagner, wild encounters may be had along the grassy banks underneath.

Route 23 (Between Sneewittchen and Rundertisch)

West of Sneewittchen, a series of fens that shroud the entrance to Deuto's Victory Road.

Okay, you can now start posting!

Natures
Well... Can we reroll to get something competitive? We've barely turned on the game cartridge :V:V:V
Made a mistake actually on that last post, ifI moved each Nature's number up by 1, Astrale should actually have a Timid Nature (+Speed -Attack), not Serious.

Still, we could vote on a reroll. Satisfied with a Timid Nature?
[ ] Yes
[ ] No

Also, should probably put up what die roll gets you what Nature here, so I don't have to keep re-checking the Bulbapedia page:

4 - Adamant (+Attack - Sp. Atk)

2 | Starter Showdown.
The little whale with its big eyes was now hopping in front of you. You slowly put your hand down to pet it, and soon enough its fidgety gaze turned to a bright smile and cheerful squeaking.

PokeDex said:
Astrale, the Space Whale Pokemon
#007 Deuto Dex
Water/Psychic

Not developed enough yet to travel the vast reaches of space, this young space whale usually stays it safe by orbiting their home planets and moons, or travelling under the fins of their parents.

"She took that one? Hmph, Anna, put your little sister back in line, won't you?" Maria snarled and shoved Anna out in front of you.

Having stumbled a second there, Anna stood herself up and spoke up "Right, uh, yeah, if you're a Trainer now Astrid, that means ya gotta battle! Go, Leaf-er, Kindeer?" Anna's proclamation faltered as her face screwed up when she saw the Fire Deer coming out of her ball "Er, Tackle it!".

The Kindeer just paused at that order, soon deciding to improvise by trying to scratch Astrale with his antlers. You called out to Astrale to use her Water move, which she responded to by blowing bubbles out of its spout. You clenched your teeth as you failed to see how that'd do anything, only to see it did have some effect by encasing Kindeer's nose-flame in a bubble, which seemed to daze it.

With the Kindeer caught up, your face brightened as you told Astrale to tackle her foe. The tiny whale responded by rolling into Kindeer's belly, knocking the Fire-type over and leaving him flailing with his legs up in the air, Astrale taking the chance to blow more Bubbles at him.

"Ah, already we seem to have won our first battle, even if the 'elements' did happen to be on your side" the Fairy Godmother smiled at you, since Kindeer was by now clearly in no position to fight further.
Trainer Astrid vs Trainer Anna!
Kindeer used Scratch!
Astrale used Bubble! It's super-effective! Kindeer's Speed fell.
Astrale used Tackle! Critical hit!
Kindeer used Scratch! But it missed!
Astrale used Bubble! It's super-effective!
Kindeer fainted!
Anna is out of useable pokemon!
Astrid has won the battle!

"Grrr, oh move over!" Maria exclaimed as she pushed her sister Anna aside "Of course you were able to beat Anna, since when has she ever known anything about strategy?".

"Ah, er Kindeer return!" Anna mumbled out as she recalled the deer back into its PokeBall, not making any comment on Maria's words against her.

"Let's just see how Type advantages work out for you now, Astrid!" Maria called out "Cattleaf, crush her!".

She tossed out the Hedge bull's Pokeball, with the released beast already looking to ram its head right into Astrale. The Cattleaf's charge sent your Astrale rolling helplessly backwards, you had to reach down to catch her so she wouldn't be sent back any further.

Okay then, how are we going to get past Cattleaf?
[ ] Just keep Tackling, Water's not going to do much.
[ ] Have Astrale stand in front of objects, then roll out of the way when Cattleaf charges.
[ ] Try blowing Bubbles at the soil, get Cattleaf stuck in the mud.
[ ] Have Astrale hop up onto objects, then jump down onto Cattleaf.
[ ] Write-in.

3 | Bullfight.
The Cattleaf came charging at the tiny whale, but at your command Astrale hopped its way to the left away from the charge, leaving the bull hurtle off into your front lawn. He soon came speeding back, but unable to change the course of his charge mid-way, as Astrale hopped back out of the way he ended up crashing into an old lamp-post at the curb.

"Hmm, Cattleaf, attack it again" Maria suddenly gave the suggestion. This made her bull keep on ramming the lamppost until, with an almighty creak, it came unhinged and was about to fall down right on top of Astrale.
You had no idea if your whale could move out of the way in time, with all the hopping and rolling around it'd already done, so without thinking you slid over across the pavement and carried her to safety in your arms, having only missed being hit by the falling post by a hair's length.

"Ahahah, cheating are we, Astrid? According to official League rules, you're only allowed to give orders and items to their Pokemon in a Trainer Battle, with no intervention beyond that. Hah, I thought such a bookworm as yourself would've read up on that, and ooh, I believe this means you're disqualified, aren't you?" a smiling Maria was now glaring down at your pavement-lying, back-bruised self.

"Hmm, well she is indeed technically true" the Fairy Godmother had to come to your sister's side, though she at least helped you up and dusted you off while doing so. You looked over at your father for a second, but he just stood silent and bent his head down.

"Well anyway, little Astrid here's old news, and the sooner we're out of this little backwater the better. You coming , Anna?" Maria called out as she began to walk away.

"Er, hold on, 's just that there's a couple of things I wanted to get done, couple of people I wanted to say goodbye to, that's all-" Anna tried to say, only to be met with the following.
"I said, are you coming Anna?" Maria snarled back, to which her sister gulped, nodded and quickly came with her.

As you watched your two sisters take off up north, the Fairy Godmother turned towards you and gave her own farewell. "Ahem, uncouth as it may have begun, this shall mark the start of your own Pokemon journey. But of course, where would any trainer be without these" she said as she handed you five PokeBalls and Potions each, all the more helpful as Aschenputtel Village had neither PokeMart nor PokeCentre.
"I too must be on my way, but always remember this child, for those who yearn for wonder and magic in their lives, the Marchen Kingdom is never far away" the Godmother's words were still heard by you as she teleported away.

The first thing you thought of was to take Astrale back in doors to get her healed and rested, but after that... You had no idea. Heh, too think the day you'd spent years dreaming about would finally come, only for you to have no idea about what to do next, after it'd already started off on a bad note.

[ ] Head North to Route 1 (Choose 2).
- [ ] Then straight on to Rattenfanger Town.
- [ ] Train up Astrale before reaching Rattenfanger.
- [ ] Try to catch a Fliglet.
- [ ] Try to catch a Dachspring.
- [ ] Try to catch a Burrodger.
- [ ] Try to catch a Frostoat.
- [ ] Write-in.
[ ] Stay around Aschenputtel a little longer (Choose 2).
- [ ] To say your goodbyes to the villagers.
- [ ] To check your belongings, make sure you haven't forgotten anything.
- [ ] To see if any Trainers have come by, always good to travel together.
- [ ] To rummage through your attic some more, see if Mum left anything else lying up there.
- [ ] Write-in.

4 | Leaving Home.
Stopping to make sure you were fully prepared, you went back inside and checked your backpack for supplies, picked a few berries you'd grown in the garden and withdrew a couple of Antidotes and Paralyze Heals out of your years-old already, last-edition computer. Your Dad had back in the day been the designer of Deuto's mostly often used Pokemon Storage System, in fact it was how he'd met Mum, but such accomplishments were long behind him now.

Speaking of Mum though...
After making your bed out of habit, though you supposed that wouldn't really matter anymore, you swiftly headed back up to the attic to see if you could find anything else Mum may have left behind, since you'd already gotten lucky with that PokeDex.

At first rummaging through the attic turned up very little, mostly just dust and old objects that nobody bothered to throw out in case they 'needed' them again. But after you'd dug through some boxes at the back, you did at last find something.

You picked up a tattered old notebook, coughed as you tried dusting it off, then opened it to see it was a diary signed by... your mother! The light in the attic being so poor, you rushed back downstairs to read it. Most of it was just science notes, a lot which were mathematical and mechanical formulas you found it hard to wrap your head around, or lines written in the Old Deuto Tongue that she hadn't fully translated.

Like the PokeDex this diary dated back years ago, what with it being from when your mother was still here. Both Maria and Anna were mentioned throughout, and even though they would have been quite young at this time, you twitched as you read how glowingly your mother described them. Your father did receive less and less mention as the diary went on, no surprise there, and your own day of birth didn't come up until quite late, though you stopped and stood still when you came across a rough drawing she had done of her cuddling your newborn self.

However, there was another name that kept coming up as you got further into the diary, that of the Marchen Kingdom. Oh right, you guessed they would've been around back then, yet your mother's words on them were, ah, not so flattering.

"There's something... unnatural about the Pokemon they train. I asked if I could analyse them, but they immediately dismissed me, saying it was typical of a scientist to go around spoiling magic and mystery. Hmph! I still can't help but be concerned about how secretive the Marchen Kingdom are, and how quick they are to use 'magic' as a way to shut down any and all questions".

You shivered as you looked down at Astrale's PokeBall. Exactly why your parents had split up had always been murky, but could the Marchen Kingdom have had something to do with it?
You just shook your head, if you had to think about this you'd rather it be later.

"Astrid..." you heard your father's voice call to you. You promptly hid the diary in your backpack and slowly turned to look at the old man, as he shakily stepped towards you.

"Heh, your sisters were gone before I even had the chance to say goodbye. Listen, um, be careful out there, I mean I was more into uploading Pokemon than ever training them, but I can still tell it won't be easy traversing the land on your own. Um, the Storage System I worked on back in the day should still be installed at most Pokemon Centres, so I won't really be that far, uh, in a way..." he mumbled out.

You nodded, smiled, thanked him... but that was all you said really, as you slowly began to walk away.
Stepping outside, you then took one last look around the uneventful little riverside village of Aschenputtel. You did think of saying your goodbyes to your neighbours, to give them the courtesy your sisters, or at least Maria, wouldn't. But your mind changed in an instant, as you wondered what'd be the point? These people barely said a word to you while you were growing up here, so they probably wouldn't even notice you'd gone. Plus you doubted that guy always going on about computer technology would be much for goodbyes.

Walking down the Lang River, you took the first step on this journey out of your Hometown. Fuming for a second to yourself, you swore that you wouldn't look back for one moment... but ultimately broke down and took one last, long gaze at Aschenputtel Village, sighed and clutched your heart.

* * *
Deuto's Route Ein was a pleasant stroll over the plains downstream, following the Lang River till it reached the nearby town of Rattenfanger. Not that you'd head to the next town so hastily, since you didn't want to just rush on through and neglect Astrale's training, thoughts of having her give a proper walloping to Maria's Cattleaf sizzling in the back of your mind.

Route 1 was far from the longest, but already it had a decent variety of Wild Pokemon for any new Trainer. Yin and yang-patterned Burrodgers, tipsy from all the Berry Juice they'd been guzzling, tried scrambling back into their holes before any long-bodied Dachsprings (who reminded you of a slinky-toy from an Unovan animated film back in the 90s) could uncoil their inner wires, bounce forth and catch them.

Meanwhile several weaselly Frostoats, the weather being cold and cloudy enough for them to emerge, pompously strutted around, with their curled noses and gleaming white fur that only didn't cover their mauve underbellies. Lastly...

You saw a bright pink porcine with a snout that took up almost its whole face float down like balloon from a nearby tree, its spindly, string-like tail decorated with little wings. Of course you knew this one, it was a Fliglet, you remembered having a balloon of one... that Maria had sent loose flying after swatting your hand. Shaking that memory off, you tossed out Astrale to have her first battle with a Wild Pokemon!

It was easy enough to whittle down the Fliglet's energy, with your bouncing Astrale able to hold firm against the miniature Gust tornadoes it kept sending her way. With Astrale now entertaining itself by juggling the pig with its bubbles, you-
[ ] Pulled out a PokeBall to catch the Fliglet.
- [ ] Nickname?
[ ] Let Astrale have her fun, you had a Burrodger in mind.
[ ] Let Astrale have her fun, you had a Dachspring in mind.
[ ] Let Astrale have her fun, you had a Frostoat in mind.
[ ] Write-in.

Yet you had no time your celebrate your first Wild victory, as you were soon spotted by a young trainer in a backwards baseball cap.

"Hey, what kinda Pokemon is that?" his eyes went wide at your Astrale "Never seen anything like it around before. Wait, don;'t tell me, the Marchen Kingdom gave it to you, right?".

You decided to nod, upon which he beamed and said "Okay, let me check out just how good that Pokemon is. Go, Dachspring!" His own long, stretching spring-dog appeared in a flash of light.

[ ] Get Astrale to hop into the river, if she can get there soon enough. Even if that Dachspring can swim, she'll be much more in her element.
[ ] When the Dachspring extends itself, keep blowing Bubbles at it coil. Even if Steel isn't weak to Water, maybe you can rust it somewhat.
[ ] Have Astrale hop towards that tree, trick Dachspring into getting all colied up around it.
[ ] Just keep using Bubble, this Dachspring should still be low-level enough not to need tactics to get around.
[ ] Write-in.

QM's Note: Whether you capture or defeat the Fliglet, Astrale will gain experience either way, as much as EXP exists in this mechanics-light Quest.

Zurominor/Rozorero Dex Submission
Copy+Paste of the original document for them.

Keep in mind that it's over a decade old, so between that and anything that might be needed to make it better fit your own setting, you should of course feel free to modify and update it to suit your needs.

Zurominor [Zur-Oh-My-Nore], on the left, is a Zombie Pokemon that's a poison type (and possibly a Dark type, too).

It evolves in to Rozorero, [RoH-Zor-Ehr-OH] which is on the right. It's a Robot Zombie Pokemon, though I'm less sure on type. I'm imagining either Poison/Steel, Poison/Electric, or Electric/Steel.

Notably, it's unique evolution method is that Zurominor has to be wearing the Metal Coat item, during stormy weather, at night.

Name: Zurominor (Zur-Oh-My-Nore)

Pokemon Species: Zombie Pokemon
Gender Ratio: N/A
Weight: 10 Lbs
Height: 2' 4"
Type: Dark/Poison
Abilities:
*Immunity
*Insomnia

Species Description:
Found in graveyards and other areas where large numbers of dead bodies can be found, Zurominor is the result of a surge in a mysterious, dark energy that brings together the body parts of assorted dead bodies and reanimates them. However, despite its nature and disfigured appearance, it is not inherently bad.

Slow and stupid, Zurominor are harmless to those who keep their distance. While not slow-witted, their intelligence is low enough that there are those who mistake it for being brain dead, behaving only on reflexes. While capable of short, surprising bursts of speed, it is normally only capable of sluggish physical speed. For those who don't bother it, Zurominor are generally passive, preferring to mind its own business.

However, this does not make it harmless. Zurominor is next to incapable of feeling physical pain, and is incredibly resistant to physical damage. Even if it is broken apart, it can be put back together provided that its individual pieces haven't been lost or destroyed. Additionally, if it is able to reach its target, the poisons and toxins it secretes are among the most powerful in the world.

Evolution Information:
Zurominor ------ Metal Coat + Night + Stormy Weather ------> Rozorero

Name: Rozorero (RoH-Zor-Ehr-OH)

Pokemon Species: Zombie Robot Pokemon
Gender Ratio: N/A
Weight: 114 Lbs
Height: 4' 7"
Type: Dark/Steel
Abilities:
*Insomnia
*Intimidate

Species Description:
A mesh of (mostly) bone and metal, Rozorero evolve from Zurominor, generally when they hold a metal coat that is hit by lightning. The result is certainly greater than the sum of its parts.

Rozorero are much more dangerous than their smaller brethren. Thanks to their mechanical parts, Rozorero are much faster and smarter than the pokemon they evolve from. However, they lose their resistance to and inability to feel physical pain, as well as having the power of its poison severely diminished, though it is still able to put itself back together if broken apart, provided it hasn't lost too much of itself.

Learned Attacks:
[-] Absorb
[-] Spark
[-] Supersonic
[8] Metal Claw
[14] Screech
[17] Low Kick
[25] Sucker Punch
[28] Detect

TM63 Embargo
TM64 Explosion

Zurominor ------ Metal Coat + Night + Stormy Weather ------> Rozorero

I'll probably get to the other one later in the near future.

EDIT: Added in the original information from the previous post and the image for convenience sake.

5 | The Tale of the Pokemon Piper.
You braced yourself for your first in-the-wild Trainer Battle. With your newly caught Fliglet, Vita, way too low on health without giving your foe free shots as you healed, you told your Astrale that'd first caught his eye to hop over to the river, where she'd at least have the terrain on her side. But as Astrale slowly hopped, then waddled, then tried rolling her way to the river, your opponent Dachspring was given more than enough time to launch itself forward and lunge right at her, which made Astrale give a little shriek as the mutt's jaws clamped down on her.

She was then left to roll onto her back, where she flailed her fins and twitched her tail in a vain attempt to get back up, not able to Bubble herself out of there as her blowhole was on the ground and clogged by her mini-moon. Seeing her state you complimented asking this Youngster for time to heal your Fliglet, even if the League didn't consider non-Berry healing a free action.

"Alright, Dachspring use your Wrap attack!" your opponent Youngster called out, but just as the mutt was about to completely encircle your Starter with its coil, but with seconds to spare the little whale was able to lift herself off the ground, and flap her wings hard enough to leap up into the air and gradually float down into the river. The Dachspring was unable to react, as it'd ended up tangling its own coil around itself and was now straining to untie itself.

With her freely splashing in the Lang River, your Astrale then turned her attention back to the Dachspring, and swatted her fins so hard she sprayed the river water all over its twisted coil. The Dachspring, now making a grinding sound what with its metal spring having water all over it, became easy prey for a series of bubble and bursts of water from Astrale, she even shot out her tiny moon to right between its eyes.

"Oh man, this is humiliating!" the Youngster exclaimed, as his covered his face in his hands and slumped to the ground. "What, er, losing to ya? Oh nah, not that, I'm used to that sorta thing, and gee your whale really did turn out to be something" he then stood back up and handed over the League-mandated prize money, which at this stage was barely anything. "No, I meant I'm 'sposed to be in the weekly PokePiper re-enactment back in Rattenfanger. I mean hey, I barely have the biggest role, but still".

As he and his Dachspring ran off, you recalled your Astrale, to her wincing since she'd been quite at home in that river, and looked northwards to Rattenfanger Town. Slightly bigger than Aschenputtel, it was still a quite old town with many of its cobblestone streets and grey-and-brown buildings left untouched since what must've been the Middle Ages.

You could see a stage set up in the town square, but with barely anyone else up there you guessed it might be still some time until the re-enactment proper, maybe that Youngster was just late for rehearsals?

Not that you needed to be filled in on the PokePiper legend, who in Deuto or even abroad did? Centuries ago, the town of Rattenfanger had become overrun with Rattata, Raticate and Pikachu that ceaselessly attacked, spread the plague (that Deuto's original Rattata population would eventually go extinct from) and threw lightning at any villager foolish enough to walk out their front door, and that's when these rats didn't sneak inside.

The town was luckily saved when a wandering Trainer playing a glass flute arrived and hypnotised all the rats into following him away, be it away into the Irminsul Woods, off into the Mountains or even down to the depths of the Lang River. Yet the town mayor gave him no payment for his deeds, to which in revenge an enraged Piper played the same entrancing melody to the town's children, stealing them away to.... it was never confirmed where, though deep into the caves of the nearby Rattenfanger Hill is usually the most common ending.

Having run the fairy-tale through your head, you then made your first stop at the town's conveniently placed Pokemon Centre, probably the only modern-looking building in town. Place wasn't too packed, you could see a couple of locals but mostly tourists wearing Piper or Rat-themed apparel. You couldn't see your sisters anywhere, and with how short of a walk Route 1 was, you figured they were even further on by now, or that Maria had refused to use the Centre out of stubbornness.

As you waited at the counter for the healing procedure to take place, the pink-haired, braided Nurse there chose to quickly converse with you. "Ah, would be in town for the re-enactment of the PokePiper fable? Oh, so you're taking the Gym challenge and were just passing through?" she then sighed. "I see, well you still have some ways to travel, the closest Gyms would be either east in Lebkuchen, or all the way southwest in Siebenzwerge. But you're always welcome to stick around town some more, we here in Rattenfanger would really appreciate it".

[ ] Plan to head on past through the Irminsul Woods and down the Cycling Road to Siebenzwerge, you don't have a bike but it'd make sense for there to be a bike shop close by.
[ ] Take the uphill hike to Lebkuchen. It's much closer than Siebenzwerge is... but would probably have much stronger, and stranger, Trainers there due to how close it is to Mt Hexendrei.
[ ] You know what? Repay the Nurse's courtesy and hang around in Rattenfanger some more, see the sights.
[ ] Repay the Nurse's courtesy and hang around in Rattenfanger some more, try to talk with the locals and tourists here.
[ ] Stay in Rattenfanger, but let your Pokemon out and see what they want to do around town.
[ ] Write-in.

QM's Note: Took longer than usual as I've been distracted by Suede's Pokemon Journey lately, which I could at least classify as 'research'.
