It's the Christmas party and it is time to relax and kick back for all the girls working at the studios
At The Christmas Party
"Nice that they got Asuka to be Santa Claus this year," Mami said vaguely as she munched on a plate of sugar cookies, fudge, speculaas and other goodies that she had assembled (and helped bake). "She has red hair and all."
"Better her than me," Kyouko grumbled before stealing a cookie off of Mami's plate. She could have gotten her own but there was just something better about taking from others than getting for yourself. "Not doing
that again."
"Why not?" Nonon asked curiously, looking at someone besides Satsuki for once.
"Did a gig as a mall Santa two years ago," Kyouko grumbled through a mouthful of food, getting a chiding look from Mami and a slap to the hand when she went for another cookie. "Had all the little anklebiters sitting on my lap and demanding to know why I didn't give them what they asked for last year. Then one drunk grandad leaned up to put his goblin on my lap and leaned so far forward with the cigar that it hit the fake beard.
Poof." She glared at Mami who was giggling. "It wasn't
funny, Mami."
"Of course it wasn't," Mami lied, her golden eyes still gleaming. "I just thought of something else that was amusing."
Kyouko pouted at that and pouted again when her effort to get some more peanut butter fudge was slapped away as well. Finally, with a sigh, she turned around and went off to the long line of tables packed with food. Or they had been packed with food at the start. By now, only the dessert table was very well-stocked. But sweets were the best part of Christmas anyway, so that was alright with Kyouko!
Before she got there, she was snagged by Yang, which wasn't a problem, since this blonde girl had all the physical charms of Mami only amplified on a larger frame. Kyouko let a hand get draped over her shoulder as she was tugged over to another knot of conversation, nodding at all the faces that she recognized. Minako, Lisa, damn, was this the all-blonde party or something?
Also, they all had dessert plates of their own, which Kyouko liberated some kiss and peanut butter cup cookies from. They didn't object like Mami had, maybe because they didn't realize just how much Kyouko would be willing to grab if not stopped.
"Pity the kennels are closed up," Minako said. "All those poor boys wanting to come in and say hi to everyone here. And get pets from everyone here. And get food from everyone here."
"The last should mean Il Rosso Phantasma here should be out in the cold," Lisa said with a glare at Kyouko as she yanked her plate away from a wandering hand. "Get your own food, why don't you?"
"I am," Kyouko said cheekily before managing to snag one more gingerbread boy from Lisa's plate. "And hey, isn't the Christmas spirit all about sharing?"
"Nah, it's about loving your family," Yang said, shaking her head.
"Nope, getting everything you can and still wanting more," Lisa said with a smug smirk that was very typical for her.
"Peace and goodwill for all mankind," Minako suggested. "While womankind does whatever the hell they want."
"And here I thought it had something to do about Jesus," Kyouko said with a laugh, shrugging her shoulders. "Maybe the different interpretations are the real Christmas miracle."
