PMMM Idea Thread: Deeper Than Hope and Despair

I think we're going to need an index equivalent at some point if there's ever a serious migration over to this site.

I'd honestly suggest putting it and all the rest of these threads into General Discussion. The disconnect between the discussion in The Index (which was often about things other than fanfiction per se) and the discussion elsewhere created something of a schism which was toxic to board culture. Remember all the people who were clamouring that there wasn't a place to do their Quests/crowd-controlled-SI in CrW and they didn't want to have to go to BROB to do it?

I hope you don't mind too much, but I am in the process of adding all the various discussion forums to a General Writing Thread in the Creative Forums as they pop up, and have added your thread here.

Reposting this here incase anyone has completely abandoned SB. Who knows, maybe a new site will break the curse :p

I'm starting to wonder if Sapient Witch stories/quests are cursed. Despite how intriguing the storylines and possibilities are, they all seem to die off soon after creation. With exception of Witch Quest of course, though it seems to have made it's run as well...

The thread seems almost abandoned. Like, there isn't much acitivity.

And, unfortunately, there haven't been any hilariously fuckstupid, terrible ideas yet.

This should change.
WHAT IF THERE AWS A VIRUS THAT INFECTED MAGICA LGIRLS AND MAKKED THEM DIE AND STUFF UNLESS THYE GOT MARRIED AND THEN ALEX MERCER WILL SAVE THEM BECAUSE HE A VIRUS AND WILL MARY THE HOMURA.

But seriously, ideas. Someone should write a fic where Homura and Madoka meet post-Rebellion. And instead of them becoming enemies, it's a strictly dialogue-based character piece where they speak to one another, eventually fleshing out their opinions on one another.

Complete with gross sobbing.

Hm... Though that terribad idea is infact terribad, dropping Mercer into Mikihara could actually be interesting. Personally I prefer the "avoids eating anyone who hasn't shot at him" characterization. Actually, QBs could be a source of infinite biomass :p. also, it'd be fun to have him come across a witch and prove he's scarier.

I've actually been considering writing a piece where Madokami awakens post-Rebellion and Hommucifer attempts to hide from her. Except I have a fuzzy idea of what should actually be the plot, and everytime I try, my mind insists that I write it biblical style.

The Dark One seized the Goddess, and forced her into mortal form, blinding her to her own power. The Dark One believed that only in this way would the Goddess be happy with her life. But the Goddess's power is no meager thing, and before long, The Goddess was free of her entrapment.

And so the Dark One fled. For in the brief moments of the Goddess's awakening, she saw the error of her ways. She realized her sins, and at the same time, realized that Goddess would forgive her, as the Goddess forgives all. And so she was afraid.

So she hid, afraid of the Goddess's soothing light, of her selfless mercy. Within the dark corners of human hearts, the shadowy miasma of wraiths, and in the darkness between the stars, she hid.

To this day, The Dark One still hides, afraid of the Goddess's love.

But one day she will be found. And on that day all the worlds will cry tears of joy, as the Goddess reunites with her equal and opposite, and the Law of the Cycles is complete.

Upon later consideration, this could be a good intro to a fic. I have no idea what I would do with it though....

You know, Kyubey can be more dangerous to a world's population. If he/she/it was any more vigorous in his/her/its task, then Kyubey could very easily depopulate a planet fairly quickly, especially one where the population is mostly downtrodden and unhappy.

  1. Kyubey arrives at downtrodden planet and move about the population, searching for emotional girls to contract with. Given the surroundings and general misery that these girls live in, finding some that will contract will not be very difficult.
  2. Kyubey contracts a good number of girls to be magical girls. Their wishes will eventually lead to despair and said magical girls become witches, the first for that world.
  3. Said witches and their familiars start devouring the general population, resulting in fear and even more misery. Kyubey continues to contract more girls, who would then be sent off to fight these witches. Said girls will then either die in their battles or witch-out from despair.
  4. The cycle continue until the general population is wiped out or someone wises up to Kyubey's schemes and boots him/her/it off the planet, with the latter of the two very unlikely given that he has been doing this for a very long time and got away with it.
I think this could turn into a population dynamics math problem: How long would it take for Kyubey to depopulate a planet given a set of parameters?

Actually, this could be turned into a fic: one where Kyubey arrives at a new world and starts the cycle of misery there.

One-shot scene of Madoka, Tzeentch and Ivelios having introductory meeting in the Madoka' domain. Teaparty of Gods of Hope, 'tis hilarious

Idea bouncing around in my head of one timeline where Bernkastel of When they Cry fame arrives instead of Walpurgis and challenges Homura to a Witch's game. Homura has to navigate through a hypothetical timeline using nothing but the power of LOGIC and BLUE TEXT. It ends with Homura winning the game only to find out that she had only saved the hypothetical Homura she was piloting, and that because she beat Bernkastel at a Witch's game she is doomed to become the next Witch of Miracles. Cue tears, roll credits.

Homura encountering Bernkastel is one of those ideas that is so utterly obvious to me.

My crazy and weird Umineko crossover idea: Bernkastel was Amy the cat, all along. After Homura finds out, Bernkastel offers Homura the chance to save Madoka. In exchange, Homura has to become a witch.

"Your kind of witch or my kind of witch?"
"Both".

Cue Homura forgetting everything about Bern, followed by the end of the anime, then Rebellion. Bernkastel then meets Homura again in the new world. Homura asks if Bernkastel has come to take what she is owed. Bernkastel says Homura has already paid by becoming Homulilly and then a demon.

"Although you call yourself a demon, I acknowledge you as the witch of the mortal world."

Bernkastel says she hopes Homura continues to entertain her before departing.

...yeah.

Also, I'd love for someone to come up with some kind of context for this image:

Kyubey granted a girl's wish to be a Disney princess, she became a Disney-themed magical girl and had a great time of it until her life took a direct-to-video u-turn, she succumbed to despair and became a Disney witch, but because she's still Disney themed she has a few obligatorily kind, friendly, and bumbling familiars who help Timeline 2 Homura, Madoka, and Mami rather than fight them?

But wait... Familiars are destroyed if the witch is... Great, another recipe for feels....

".. although their actions can only result in their extermination they act without hesitation. These minions of the fallen princess aim tirelessly to grant their master the happy ending that was once denied to her."
