[x] Golden sands sparkling in the sun, with the desiccated husk of ruins scattered around the great plain, and a river that seems to run Red with blood, a black Pyramid looming in the horizon.

[x] Harsh desert as far the eye can see, all around there is nothing, nothing but dead red dirt, corruption can be detected, sunk into the very ground twisting it. It begs to be free (the center of the Badlands).
[x] -1400 IC: three great kingdoms, surrounded on all sides by foes and divided within, distrustful and afraid of without, with the world slowly sliding into barbarism as Dark Gods Cackle.

Honestly, we don't want to go near anyone before we're an established power. Keep our drawback in mind people, just Velen's bullshit isn't enough to forget about that. We can deal with the Orcs, not so much with the other two.

Little point being high diplo in the badlands.

The drawback would be useless if Velen's diplo just wisked it away. If you think that Velen will be enough to make diplomacy possible, you're in for a bad time.

Surely not, but it can be worked through eventually and that diplo score could have a huge impact in Nehekara eventually, in the badlands not so much.

Moreover the Nehekarans have never (or almost never) seen beastmen, so that is a small mitigating factor.

I'm not sure how much I'm allowed to tell on the Diplo front, so I'll have to ask @Alex pears about that. We also look more like demons than beastmen, so keep that in mind.

Also remember that an empty place can work both ways. It's hard to form an independent nation while all of our good shit is stuck in Nehekhara.

Don't worry I will explain the way it works as soon as you interact with sentients from WHF, that you can talk too so not orks, but if you want you can drop hints :D. Lets see if they guess :p

Lets just say that the Malus is BIG. Like it would take a Sigmar level saving the high king, level to reduce it down to low level and even then it would not be gone

Alright then.

I think I would prefer this over starting amongst the orcs. And no to norsaca to close to the chaos wastes

Well I'll give some fague hints then. During our convo on Velen's bullshit, I noted 2 major issues with pre-nerf Velen's charsheet. One was the fact that he could get 5 rerolls during negotiations. Which hasn't been changed from the charsheet apparently @Alex pears.

Speaker to Worlds and Gods: You have negotiated with the combined people of entire worlds and Gods only lower than the Titans of old and you have always prevailed no matter the issue or attempt at assassination (+8 to diplomacy +2 to intrigue and two rerolls when negotiating)
Prophet: you have the unique curse of seeing the future accurately through the light. While often these visions are confusing they have allowed you an appreciation of alternate paths and often help you save your people, be it from small things to the future of an entire world ( reroll in any situation with a +20 modifier and 2 rerolls in diplomatic situation occasionally will give warnings from the future, maybe unintelligible or complete useless)
Living Ancient: you have lived longer than many species, done incredible and dangerous things and accumulated a wealth of experience and knowledge beyond that of almost any being. (+6 to all stats and 1 reroll.)

The other should still be obvious.

Anyway. I think the Badlands would be a better pick for us. No need to deal with Chaos on their home turf or worry we botch the Dip roll and end up in some deep shit. We get to keep all our Tempest Keep goodies without needing to move them should we want to build our own nation. More rivers to help irrigate the land so we aren't stuck in a desert and more space to expand. More connected to Old World shenanigans while still a healthy distance away should things go bad.

Umm I'm pretty sure that if we pick 'Golden sands' voting on when we arrive doesn't matter.
.(Nehekhara beare in mind this is possibly the one with the biggest reward, choose this and you will arrive in year 1158 7 years before Nagash sends another army to finish the job and kill any remaining Nehekaraians. If you choose this then you get a human population for whom your massive malus to diplomacy will be lessened because they are so desperate, but you have to cure the plague purify the land and drive back Nagash… what would the consequences be?)

There are also a couple of things we need to be aware of.
1. The natural environment is likely not favorable to draenei. These is tropical deserts where they seem to prefer temperate forests etc.
2. The 'plague' that is mentioned from what I can tell was/is (not sure if Nagash has done it yet) is the corruption/poisoning the source of the Vitae River which nourishes the entire land. Between Nobundo and Velen we can probably heal it but that is really going to set Nagash off and he's in the same category as Velen.
71-80 second generation Slann, Nagash, Lady of the Lake Piety.

Yep, you would arrive 7 years before Nagash launches his next invasion, at this point around half of the Nehkarians are dead, and the rest are starving scared and desperate.

So Velen and the other Light specialists are going to be working over time while Nobundo and any other shamans are going to be keeled over in sympathetic pain from the sheer level of agony that the land and its spirits are experiencing.

Pretty much, Velen will be working over time and getting a word in with the spirits is going to be a **** and well lets just say that if the Arcatraz rolls badly I'm going to release something on you. Even if not your still going to have to fix the thing sharpish . After all the things from Azeroth are only a few of the monsters stored in there.
