Not for centuries. You need to realize...gunpowder involves a lot of reagents which requires a functional industrial machine to produce significant quantities of, and even MORE industrial metallurgy to use it constructively.
Early gunpowder thus, made for amazing cultural displays of fireworks and is of more entertainment value than military for a very long time. It'd move power TOWARDS the elite who can secure the alchemists and suppliers of saltpeter, sulfur and high grade charcoal, before it moves it away from them.

If that is why he did it, I wouldn't call that vote to be trolling like I haven't with Korporati. But given how he has jumped back into the thread after spending most of a year not interacting with the thread to make a controversial vote with no reasoning and only a comment on how he likes the ability to screw over everyone else in a vote despite having a minority opinion.
So given how he hasn't responding to being called out in his actions, I am quite willing to call Gavoon a troll and state that the only reason that I haven't reported him for being a troll is because as far as I can tell, he is technically acting with the rules due to AN offering the option as vote.

Most likely, a review will find a different non-gunpowder explosive/ smoke generating agent and claim that that useless thing must be the fabled eastern gunpowder.
