Divinely Glorious Elites = 3 Culture
No, DGE is part of our per-turn income, which would be +10 but is instead +7 due to DGE.
DGE is accounted for in the income phase already. We're good on this front. But yes, there is no culture to spare since GL can take multiple actions and PG may win.
GL will only take multiple actions if safe. That's been a thing since we got faction actions. Nothing wrong with having our provinces do some stat generation.

We have to trust not only the Guilds, but EVERYONE ELSE. Why? Because if anyone decides to use up some wealth, suddenly we can't afford Warships any more.
Only the patricians come before the guilds since they choose actions in faction-strength order. Also with my plan there's actually a bit of wealth to spare, my plan is capped on culture usage which the patricians can't use (since it's all out before the patricians actions get selected)

We don't control the king, we control the kingdom. If we really want something to happen that the king doesn't want, events IC will conspire to force the events in the direction we want.

The only way we could stop the king from not doing DL in this case is civil war.

A civil war against the King.

No we control the king and through him the kingdom, we never controlled forces outside of him, at most we supported and were supported by forces outside of him, which of course made us act on their advice/knowledge, that however never meant that we controlled them
During the war we aren't involved in the battles as the actual commander, we only decide of much men we wish to commit, which is the King's decision
During science projects we are rarely involved in the acutal process and only if we have to decide between two science types, most of the time however we aren't part of the science team, we simple decide how much rescources are to be spent, which again is the Kings decision
During social unrest we only decide where the focus should lie, which is also the King deciding IC where the problem might come from, we are in no way involved in the actual process, such as organizing the social wellfare as a clerk, or taking care of the patients as a priest
Our decisions on the budget and the midturn are represented by him, they are the Kings decisions on where to spent how much
That is my actual point, no matter how much they didn't make sense IC our actions where still done and represented by the king and were at least simple justified with the King being the one who makes the decisions

And the fact that this is no longer the case, is what I consider unfair,

In fact why even offer us the possibility of a civil war if we have no chance at winning at all,

I mean honestly if it is like that AN could have just forced us and be done with it
That way at least we would have been just bitter about our past decision, instead of being salty and tearing at each other throats

..................oh for fucks sake, our king is not a god, he can't go against the entirety of the kingdom just because. If it's basically suicide to do an action, doing it will rightfully get a king replaced, hero or not.

First please chill out or if you can't, log out, at least until you are chilled, we were just unlocked and you were called in by the GM for your behavior
Second my point was not him not winning against the kingdom, but him not only not siding with us but actively against us depite being the current PC, which never happened is this quest and goes kinda goes against the idea of this quest

This is not about optimizing minutiae, but about choosing the structures and ideals of a people, culture, and civilization over time as various challenges rear their head.

@Academia Nut The intent of Hunt Troublemakers and Enforce Justice is to force an equitable distribution of land, as fairly as possible. Will that happen?

It is certainly in the cards if you do that.

If we set our agenda to sea control and don't spend any player actions on warships, how likely is it that our factions will complete the trader quest?

So long as they have the resources to do so, yes.

We have basically no idea how ordering goes.
Personally, I think that Province Faction Actions are going to all get taken before any Faction-specific actions are taken; it doesn't make sense to mix the two, since one uses faction-locked mains that don't benefit from following the agenda, and the other uses pick-what-you-want secondaries that ARE affected by the agenda.

You are making a lot of assumptions here, and I don't like gambling with that.

Yenyna was just a crazy girl, Alyx a minor patrician, and so on and so forth, the fact that excellence is a major factor in social mobility is downright amazing. Anywhere else, there wouldn't be a Dragon General, Alyx would get slapped down for acting above his station, and so on.

In hindsight, it's not terribly surprisingly such value gets demonized when people are essentially saying making it oficial the fact that this one family, whom has farmed this one valley for three thousand years, owns it will make them spontaneously sprout wings and horns.

Yeah, Abby pointed it out to me that it was taken into account in income. With that knowledge I'm more okay with this plan.

I would like to note, however, that we should finish the Great Library next turn and pursue the Law megaproject the turn after that if at all possible. This will mean taking culture generating actions mid turn. I don't think we have the wealth to do it now, though, since we want to get the warship quest out of the way.

Random thought: I propose we send Shaumyn on a very long adventure across the world, making new friends across the world. He doesn't like kingship and we don't want him to be king anyway. Plus he will have a chance to gain lot and lot of glory.

Also, what if we meet India!Ymaryn?:

Could you please change your tags to the format AN wants?

"Please keep a consistent tagging pattern of [Sec], [Guild Sec], and [Agenda]. Vote will close tomorrow and an update is unlikely before Saturday or Sunday. Also, will probably be on slow mode for the rest of December."

It messes with the tally otherwise.
Thanks in advance.

Blackmouth is a coastal city just like Redshore and it's only a matter of time before it starts manifesting the same problems; therefore its better to make it a Free City now.

@Academia Nut

A lot of questions that have built up over the threadlock:

What are Alyx (and his advisors) suggestions on limiting potential abuses of Distribute Land by the Patricians (like them smashing the Distribute button until the whole Empire is carved up between them)

What is the Urban Patricians problem with DL? How does it affect cities (or what do they believe)?

Would the Landholders power be diminished by more cities/more powerful Guilds?

What is Alyxs recommendation to fight the Tech Crunch at it's root? More Academies or Palaces?

If Actions cost tech, does that mean that narratively the Guilds gain influence through it as they are the representatives of the Tech people? Would that, in turn, mean that the Guilds will become anti-Slavery to protext that political power now that they have become even more powerful?

What does Alyx think is a good way to keep the Patricians under control of the Crown? Which factions are most likely to be a counterweight to the Patricians ambitions?

With more Temples being built, are the Blackbirds moving back under their control?

Is Divinely Glorious Elites an Ymaryn take on Mandate of Heaven, just with an eye towards unquestioning obedience as long as those on the top don't demonstrate incompetence?

Is Alyx in fact an expy for Alexanders father, and Shunmyn is the actual Not!Alexander (because his attitude reads like 'Have Army, will campaign!' with very little regard for anything else)
