I can't believe you people are going to let the Highlanders get away with their bullshit.

We have a crap-load of corruption in our kingdom. A Heroic Admin is the perfect solution to that, but in order for him to focus on it we need to stay out of war. Hurting ourselves to hurt another is not something we should do. At least with the Games we'll have greater assurance that the HK won't start another war.

That or they lost their hero king and the Heaven's Hawks are taking advantage.

It's almost as if it was a bad idea to go on without drawing off martial into a mercenary company...

Actually, we thought it was white. Now it became red. People are puzzled why it was white last update and figured we didn't need to retrain. Turn out that we were wrong.

The thing is we've constantly ignored any possibility doing something of the increasingly blatant issues of our compromised society eating away at us. If we'd done anything about it before hand I would be alright letting it ride a bit longer under an incompetent, but as is it's now blowing up in our face I don't feel we have the luxury.

In regards to Waaaghs I do have to wonder how serious things are in regards to the war mission the HH sent.
I really don't see these blatant issues unless you mean crime in one city and an overabundance of martial leading to a bit of piracy apparently.

We are by no means coming apart at the seams like you seem to be implying.

You're greatly underselling the issue.
Everyone glanced at the third man, who groused, "The riot was part of a larger pattern and problem, namely that there are criminal elements operating within our society that we need to crack down on. Redshore has simply become one of the places that they base from. Piracy is growing far worse and is taking a bite out of legitimate trade, as well as nipping at the Trelli colony and increasing tensions with them."
There is a significant amount of corruption in our civilisation and it's not just in Redshore. It needs to be rooted out swiftly or else the corruption will get worse and be more difficult to take out.

But it also means we have 1 more turn of population explosion, doesn't it?
Bright side of life? *helpless shrug*

Waaa

I can not do this!

I cannot be mean. ._.

This is there last chance. Before, we ignored each other and simply scrambled for resources. This would be the first time we extend our hands out to them in 500 years. Only after they swat it will I be comfortable.

How can we really blame them if we never offer them a seat by the fire?
Exactly my demonic buddy.
If they turn it down the war will actually have another reason to punch them so I see it as win win.

Also to people saying they will be, or may be, willing to risk our civ so that we can kill the HK, I cry foul and not cool. Lots of folks have put a lot of effort into this and risking our civ is not something I appreciate hearing and one of the few things I will actively object to.

I'm thinking they might have did it to boost the Storm Wolves' opinion of us.

They were fighting the Northern Nomads last I remember, and their Martial Honor would likely make them respect our strength. The help with their enemies might also improve their opinion of us.

We can call on Yenyna as a general, no need to give her power to mash the button. Hertythn also fosters relations with Khemetri via marriage to Reshem's daughter.

I think we can expect the Khemri to complete the Games rather soon. They have a Wonder Economy, they want the Prestige and they want to be our peers. It just makes sense.

Nope. No prestige for HK.
They have to contest with Ymaryn Arete-boosted athletes and Khemrite elites. If they manage to get that one point of Prestige they'll deserve it.

AN doesn't say wether we will regain our CB once the admin king dies and I am not risking that shit. I swear to god if we do not conquer the Highlanders I will not be fucking happy

It's not as bad I was thinking originally admittedly yeah, I misremembered that we were at two stability originally and dropped both to get to 0, we only actually dropped one which isn't nearly as concerning. Still this is something that's been harped on as something festering for ages and now we see it seems to be finally starting to spiral out of control.

You're greatly underselling the issue.
Am I? How damaging is this apparent systematic issue? Of course it's an issue- but the assumption that this organized crime ring is some existential threat is baseless. It's a problem, and it'll probably make life difficult for us- but it's hardly the 'we need to drop everything, fuck the known and readily and quickly solvable issue that has consistently made things much worse for us in favor of this' that people seem to be insisting. Unless we're at the level where our criminal cartels are openly and flagrantly shitting on the state (and ours really aren't) it's not worse than the HK issue.

Wonder how AN is doing the invites... probably just that half of total thing.

They're filthy capitalists, of course it's their fault. The pigs are barely better than the sheep. :V
Pigs are actually very intellectual

Oh.
That's not the rationale though. If we don't invite them our hero may run the war, if we do he definitely won't and we have to hope we get lucky with the timers (Hero 1-2 turns) + (CB 2-3 turns).
Yes, and? The anger at the Highlanders still originated from them attacking us. Yet the Thunder horse did the same while receiving nowhere near the same outrage. Even if there isn't a stated mechanical benefit to leaving them with no invite, there little chance of those PISSED at HK to invite them anyway. It was never going to happen.

Inviting the TH despite snubbing makes no sense at all.

I hope players will remain rational and pick utilitarian actions over pure vengeance.

That being said, I doubt everyone will act in such a fashion. Especially given we are already risking our civ by not going after the HK while we are not in immenent danger.

The TH does not have nearly as menacing and threatening position as the HK, has not repeatedly launched unprovoked invasions, a means of shortening and increasing the defensibility of our borders, and are not, in fact, a problem we can just make vanish like the HK.

HK was once our friend, while TH never where, so it somehow makes sense to crush HK while letting TH live. :V

Less snippy, it makes strategic sense because HK are geographically positioned in a way that lets them endanger us on a lot of fronts and cut off a big chunk of our empire - Hatvalley. It is utterly amoral (not immoral, amoral) strategic calculus, but it makes sense.

People aren't inviting the Highlanders while inviting the TH because it's easier to conquer the Highlanders than it would be to conquer to TH.

They're also close to our Core, so people thing of them as a pressing threat, while the TH are separated from us by our subordinates, so people don't feel they are a pressing threat.

The treachery just gives us a usable CB to conquer them with.

Hertythn will still be our Admin Chief, and do Admin things, like hopefully fix Redshore, if he's not elected. However, if we put up King Mediocre, we will retain control and the ability to attack the HK.

I hope the second half has some kind of new Intrigue action we can take against the Shadow King.
