Found Colony - When a province gets too distant, sometimes it is best to grant it additional autonomy so that they can get down to the business of working the land and gathering resources without needing to talk to the king about every little thing. Current Target: Greenshore
*F: Change Greenshore Trading Post to a Colony
*S: -1 Econ, 4 Econ Transfer, -2 Martial, founds colony to produce raw resources
[X][Main] The Law (Iron Age)
[X][Secondary] Proclaim Glory
[X][Secondary] Plant Hemp
[X][Free] Change Passive Policy - Defence (+1 significant walls/turn)
[X][Free] Found Colony - Change Greenshore Trading Post to a Colony

Shouldn't this be updated?

And we had no idea too. Which means our counter-intelligence is utter shit.

[X] [Main] More Blackbirds
[X] [Secondary] Palace Annex - Arsenal
[X] [Secondary] Study Metal
We have one of the better counter intelligence forces in the area in the form of blackbirds I believe, it's just that Heroic Intrigue Heroes with generation spanning spy networks are Op, especially while we are dealing with a Tax Crisis that requires blatant corruption and disregard for the Law.

@Academia Nut Does our king and/or whatever the most relevant advisor is think that blackbirds would help with the Shadow King mess? Does his bonus apply to support artisan's tech chance? (I assume it does but want to make sure since its technically not a "study" action)
How important does our war chief think building watchtowers in hatvalley would be? How important do they think the King sending a secondary war mission to help the provinces is?

Hmm *takes a look at early tally*

I'm gonna approval vote and slap on a secondary war, just in case someone makes a good argument for war missions from us.

[X] [Main] Build Annex - Arsenal
[X] [Secondary] Study Metal
[X] [Secondary] More Blackbirds

Approval Dark Magik!

[X] [Secondary] War Mission - Khemetri

Guys, don't freak out about Iron. We're gonna be fine. We're about to enter a Golden Age, and we always get materials advancements during war, and we have a Mystic Hero in play.

STEEL HERE WE COME.

Tch oh well that secret is out no point.

[X] [Main] Support Artisans
[X] [Secondary] Study Metal
[X] [Secondary] Build Annex - Arsenal

We need to tech up fast just throwing more people against the Khem is not going to cut it.

The Riddle of Steel.

Oh on top of that:

Early Iron Bringers: Materials advancement always a possibility during Golden Ages, regardless of available excesses

Which means that golden age + war means lots of mat sci advances.

[X] [Secondary] Trails
[X] [Secondary] Support Artisans

Need more trails to move everything especially if we are going closer to enemy territory.

The iron loss to the HK would be more of a blow if we didn't have the MW scattering it to the four winds anyway. So while it sucks they've already got it in production at least it lessens the sting.

[X] [Main] Annex
[X] [Secondary] Study Metal
[X] [Secondary] More Blackbirds

This feels pretty solid,

With refugees from the metal workers scattering from the conflict by the Storm Wolves, the People were gaining somewhat in terms of expert labour, but the secrets of iron were certainly being spread. However, soon enough the king received a mysterious package, a note attached to it that said, "Intercepted in transit, source in danger, of critical importance."

Incidentally, what the heck? Why do we have friendly spies in the Highland Kingdom?

We will not enter into a golden age. We need two maxed stats for that.
We currently have econ maxed, and aren't going to spend 12 this turn.

We also only need 1 more diplo to max that.
Wouldn't that be good enough to get us a Golden Age?

Maybe the Spy Network of the Shadow King fractured and is split into multiple smaller Spy Networks that are Shadowrunning against each other?

Ahh, goddamit, criminal enterprise. Iron everywhere now.

[X][Main] Build Annex - Arsenal
[X][Secondary] Study Metal
[X][Secondary] Build Watchtowers

This won't be over quickly. We need fortifications, and FAST.
Towers first. The biggest issue here is reaction time if the Highlanders feel they're hard enough. Towers let us respond better in every way if they do.

More likely is that the higher threat for those regions means that they see no reason to rebel.

Well, except for the ST. Pretty sure the north just enjoys a good war.
I suppose that's possible, but while that makes sense for Hatvalley, i'd think Stallion Tribes would have the same risk as last turn?

I think @Academia Nut has said that if we can make it to the midturn with maxed stats we can enter one? Or maybe that was a turn we started with max stats...i'll try and find the quote later if no one else has it (or a counter quote)

Well, given that someone got this intelligence to you, its entirely possible that the Shadow King is on your side. They honestly have no idea, but given that they haven't been detected, the Blackbirds almost certainly are fundamentally compromised. If the Shadow King does exist, and this isn't just all externally driven rather than internal corruption. The People are welcoming of refugees, and if a Highlands spymaster decided to take advantage of that behavior... it would be complicated and amazing that they haven't been detected up until now, but there's some level of conspiracy at work.

@Academia Nut what's causing us to gain +1 Martial a turn?

You're not.
