Dang, I'm guessing if we didn't help them out previously the Eastern Nomads would have been flattened and added to the horde without so much as a speedbump?

They rolled better than you did but are still mostly attempting to avoid direct engagement. Their strategy seems to be to hang together and either get a chunk to break off to pursue them, outside the control of the Heroic leader, or let them get entangled with the People's fixed defences first before hitting the flanks. They really do not want to get into a direct slugging match.

Sensible, if they can pull off a chunk that'd be great, though a pincer is better.

Is their Diplo hero still alive or dead?

Considering the martial bent of even trading nomad cultures, what are the possibilities that cooperating with the People together against the northern nomads culturally reinforces the existing alliance?

Because having a Rohirrim to our Gondor is awesome if we can make it work.

because it puts us at negative -1 stability and causes huge trauma to our own people. not to mention with the lowlands wars the hathy and the metalworkers we will likely end up in a Death spiral

going to -1 stab to win the war now before the MW die is a good deal it and the huge trauma just means the we will hate the Nomads more so no big problems. and with the Hatriver March the lowlands can't just kill us.

"Though the grass may turn dry, the cattle lean, and men's hearts mean, let us not let the possibility of tomorrow's quarrels turn away friendship today. If it is wine's fate to turn sour, does that not mean that we should drink and savour it today? While there is the possibility of peace, I say that we have it!"
Just remembered that I've been meaning to ask, has anyone written this down? Because this is exactly the kind of quote I want preserved in our histories for people the world over to partial quote out of context.

Looks like an odd vote at first. Would like to main the library over blackbirds, but I can see why we would want this with the current problems. not in favor of kicking because we may need to use the stability for something else later.

I'm not really a Tolkien buff so all I really know is from the movies (and that was years ago).

What is Rohirrim and what was Gondor's relationship with it?

ANOTHER fucking Martial Hero?

And every time one goes by, they get another Legacy that makes them more dangerous down the line. Ughhhh

I think Legacy bonus only gets carried by the tribe?

@Academia Nut

Does Nomad group in general share legacy bonus? Say Thunder Horse's (1st) legacy being inherited by the Thunder Speakers and Thunder Horse (2nd)?

You guys do know that if we pick RO we will at most be at stab 2 since we would be reducing our legit by 1 right?

Ok so basically when Gondor (descendants of a race of 'High Men' favored by the gods of the setting) were fighting servants of an ancient evil, they sent out messengers begging for help from wherever they could get it. One messenger went north, and he found Eorl the Young, and his clan of nomadic horsemen, the Eotheod. Knowing that if Gondor fell, the world would, Eotheod agreed to ride to the battlefield with almost his entire host- over 7000 horsemen. They made the ride of over 500 miles in about 9 days. (In-universe, its fairly regarded as a miracle) For their Big Damn Hero-ing, Eorl's people got the land of Rohan to keep (kicking out the dunlenders who lived there at the time- this is never really redressed) and became known as the Rohirrim. And ever since, whenever the foot-soldiers of Gondor needed a cavalry punch, it was the Rohirrim who came to their aid.

The Rohirrim were essentially the horse warriors of Rohan. They were elite riders and rangers. Rohan was a small human nation in middle earth.

There's a lot more, but I won't go into it. Google is a thing.

Here's a better video without 4 minutes of extra(though awesome) footage.

Still my favorite scene.

Also it illustrates pretty well why cavalry was used for so long. Speed and sheer mass. It is terrifying and demoralizing.

...

As always I'm impressed by the depth of the Tolkien universe.
