From Zero to Hero!
I decided to write this journal to make sure there's some kind of tangible record of what happened to me. I will never publish it other than perhaps as a fictional piece in the far future, but I think it will be important for me to keep tract of my accomplishments.
Now that's out of the way let me tell you what happened.
I was on my room browsing the internet when a bright light came out from the adjacent unused room, and from there came out a man. He looked oddly familiar, and I dare say handsome, before he stared at me in sheer disgust.
"Damn, another one." He said while shaking his head. "Well, rejoice you useless piece of flesh, for your wish has been granted!"
"What?"
"Did I stutter?" He said irritated, "your wish shall be granted, or do you actually like the life you lead?"
"Well, it could definitely be better but-"
"Then I will help you make it better!" He said before bringing out some kind of holographic display, typing furiously at it for a while before clicking what I assumed was the enter button.
As he did that my head felt like splitting open, and things I never knew could be possible, new concepts and ideas flashed through my mind and were searing in my long term memory. For some reason I knew for certain that I would never forget them, just like one never really forgets how to ride a bycicle.
"What? What did you do to me?" I half asked, half demanded from the man in front of me. "I mean, who the hell are you? How did you get in my house?"
"Only now you are asking that? As for who I am, how about you look deep in your new memories to try and figure that out?"
I blinked, and suddenly I simply knew who he was, and what his existence meant. "You're me, and I'm you."
"Correct", he said looking around once more in disgust, "I gave you what you need to be great. What form that greatness will be, it depends on your natural talent. Natural talent you had been squandering until now", he said while trying to burn a hole in my head. "Now I must go, my job is long, arduous and thankless."
"Well, I'm thanking you for what you did." I said but he seemed to ignore me.
Going back to the unused room, there was a flash of light, and he was no more.
Long story short, he was me from another dimension. A parallel world of sorts he calls AR world, or Alternate Reality world. In there he was a genius scientist that developed special dimensional physics, ushering into a new age of prosperity to mankind as he released roughly half of his theories into the world, giving things like energy generation to transportation to storage, while keeping some choice bits to himself.
One of those choice bits being the ability to travel to AR worlds using his technology. As a retirement plan he decided to go explore the local AR worlds clusters to see what his alternate selves were doing. One of the first stops he gathered enough technology to further upgrade himself, being greatly impressed by his AR self before deciding to visit a couple more of them.
If the first stop was a pleasant surprise of surprising competence equaling his own genius, the next subsequent stops were disappointment after disappointment. So much so in fact that he thought the device had broken and sent him farther away through the multiverse into some kind of parody of reality. Sadly he remade all the calculations of his device and realized that he was still nearby of his original world.
His ego and pride couldn't stand the fact that his alternate self was such a... well... a failure if I had to be entirely honest. Thus he decided to go on a 'uplifting' campaign across the nearby AR worlds to make sure nobody that bear his name and wears his face was an abject failure, using special technology to implant knowledge and technical know how on the minds of the uplifted individuals while at the same time giving enough hints and cross reference skills that I could create something new by myself instead of simply mooching off other people's accomplishments.
I can't say for my other AR selves, but I think this Prime me is full of shit. Either way some people would have affinities to other AR selves and thus would borrow their development paths of those that genuinely developed them before. So some might have a biology affinity, or even a power armor affinity.
Joke's on him, I got an affinity for multi-dimensional theory, complete with technical know how in order to make the things I know about. Bet the moron didn't saw that one coming, thinking nobody else could match his genius or something.

I looked at myself in the mirror and frowned, not liking what I saw when compared with the knowledge and bits and piece of memories my AR self, or perhaps was Prime self, said I should look like and be like.
I closed my eyes, counted to ten before opening it once more. The sight that greeted me was the same I had seen countless times before except by the unfamiliar look of determination he had on his face.
"You are Andre Inami, and you're not an abject failure."
Nodding to myself, I prepared myself to work. Things are going to change around here.

In the first stage, the Growth Stage, you will play in the normal world as a normal person with only his smarts as a redeeming feature. Choose how he will proceed with his life, and help him achieve his dreams. If things go well enough, then perhaps there will be a chance for him to also grow as a person, but don't count on it being easy.
After all, you guys aren't even proper voices in his head.
The game itself will be slower than my more active quests. I will update whenever I feel like it, which will be
roughly between everyday and every week. Differently from my active quests this one I will not try to keep a schedule.

Failed university twice, now he's considered a genius in physics, learning the subject with ease and surprising quickness. All of that came after meeting with his alternate self who is a genius in Multi-Dimensional Refraction Phenomenon, the Kaleidoscope.
Considered a late bloomer genius, an aspiring physicist working for FutureTech as both a junior researcher on third parties researches and as a contracted developer for new inventions. His first work will be the E-Type Power Armor once he graduates from university.
As of right now his knowledge of the Kaleidoscope remains a secret to the world, even if he's the unparelled genius in it.
A genius that graduated university with honors, if a bit later after some stumbling through life, he works primarily as a contracted developer for FutureTech, a subsidiary of FutureIncorporated and as a junior researcher in other areas if the opportunity presents itself. His first major project is the E-Type Power Armor, both for civilian and military use.
A genius that works in FutureTech, being one of the relevant shareholders of the company. His first great projects were the E-Type Power Armor for both civilian use before being updated as the Em-Type for pure military use, and the creation of the EX-Type.
With the creation of the EX-Type, one of it's components became the key to a new space race between several nations.
Not to be outdone, he designed and constructed the new generation spacecraft and the accompanying command center, winning the space race for his country and company while at the same time entering in history for being the first civilian to command a spacecraft on his own.
While his greatest achievement was winning the space race and his fame started with the creation of the first commercialy viable power armor, his real talents are based on the multi-dimensional refraction phenomenon, know as Kaleidoscope, which still remains a secret to the world at this moment.

Said man had average height, with a body that while toned wasn't build for muscles. In fact it's the kind of body type that if he slips even once he starts to gain weight quickly. A fact that both infuriates and embarrass the man when brought up. His features were japanese thanks to his father and grandparents, though he inherited his slightly wavy hair from his mother.
Clean shaven and with a buzz cut, he looked rather prim and proper in his suit with matching belt and shoes. He looked more like a businessman than the scientist he was or the explorer he became in his retirement, but if his face didn't betrayed his advanced age, his current clothing would if you knew him long enough.
"Yes, I'm done", he said a bit irritated before taking a deep breath and looking at the woman in the eyes.
For her part she was lovely, halfway between cute and stunning. Not quite hourglass figure but close, big enough chest that was in harmony with her hips size, she could clearly become a model in certain worlds if she tried. With light brown skin, blue eyes and dark brown hair, she had an exotic beauty on her.
All of that, thanks to advances in technology.
"You didn't need to be an ass about it", she said after a few moments, "it gives the impression that you dislike those you helped."
"Well, excuse me if looking at them gives me the chills. All that wasted potential, and I could have been any of them."

"After all those years I still can't understand you fully. Aren't you afraid that he won't squander your gift, or that he will turn to evil?"
"If he squander my gift, it will be because he will kill himself due to whatever issues he suffer", said her lover with conviction in his voice, "as for becoming evil, I can see him turning violent, and even tyrannical, but he's not the type of person to bother with being actively malicious. Too much effort."
"Speaking from experience?"
"Yes. Then again, the old saying 'you either die a hero or live long enough to become a villain' still holds true after all."
"So what are you going to do now?"
"I was thinking on setting my device to a random world on the opposite direction from where I found my heir, and go as far away as possible, and then keep jumping until I get bored. The multiverse is a big place, I'm sure I can play the tourist for quite a long time."
"And what about me?" Pouted the woman, before being scooped up by him.
"Oh, maybe I should kidnap you so we can go together? After all you don't have any say in the matter."
Despite his words she giggled, part of it because it was amusing how much he could get away with her, the other part because of the irony of the situation. "I think I created a monster."

It's not glorious, I'm just a peon after all, but it pay the bills and it is immensely preferable than doing absolutely nothing all day because you have no money to do anything, use the internet or even watch television. It also beats living on the scant charity of my stranded relatives. At least this way I have some of my independence back.

The lights flicker, and a group of teens are walking around the streets without a care for the world. Turning into a corner and entering a darker street they are greeted with a man in the middle of the road.
"Hey kids, got any light?" Said the strange man to the group.
"Piss off", said one of the teens, "just get back home you bum."
"Don't be like that Ricky", scolded one of the girls in the group, "we don't smoke mister. Sorry."
"It's alright dear", said the mysterious man, and somehow the group could see his eyes under the cover of darkness, like twin points of light. "I am however, feeling really hungry right now."
As he stepped forwards the group took a step back. His face had stretched skin, veins popping up on his face. He had really pronounced upper and lower canines, and bright red eyes that literally glowed in the dark. The creature made to run towards the teenagers, but stopped once a motorcycle appeared out of thin air in front of him.
The man riding the motorcycle was wearing some kind of strange armor made of an unknown material, black in color with red details covering his body. In his waist was some kind of belt, and he had a gun and some kind of collapsible baton on his side. No part of his body showed skin, and his helmet had some strange, large red eyes that stared into the creature, judging it.
"Who are you?" Came the deceptively pleasant voice of the monster.
"Just a passing through Kamen Rider."

While it really was that obvious the harder part was to make it into an habit, but you managed to do it decently. With the new habit you formed it will be much harder to spend your money frivolously once more unless certain events change the status quo significantly.
