Loyde was filling up a Dust container when he noticed the girl with messy red and black hair reading a magazine on medicine. On her shoulder was a large odachi across her shoulder, and she was wearing a red coat. Deciding to take the initiative, a little extra Lien never hurt him and a little less wouldn't hurt her, "Hey!"
The girl didn't answer, too busy humming to the song on her headphones as she flipped through the magazine. Grabbing her by the shoulder, he jerked her around. Silver eyes stared at him in confusion, and he pointed at her headphones. She pushed them down, blinking, "What?"
"Your wallet," Loyde said, "Now."
"Are you… Robbing me?" The girl said, glancing down the aisle towards Loyde's compatriats.. Well, she was a thick one.
"Yes, now-"
"Ah. Room," the girl said, and there was the slightest shift in the air. Something Loyde could feel but not see. Deciding to take no chances, he swung his machete for her, only for her to trace a line across the shoulder of Loyde's swinging arm, which, to Loyde's horror, fell off with a meaty thud as it hit the ground, no obvious injury showing. The girl grabbed her sword, eyes flashing, and drew it in a single swing.
Loyde felt his upper body detach from his lower one as the sword hit him, the expected spurt of blood not coming, and fell to the ground, his legs still standing.

Roman Torchwick noticed the red field at the edge of the shop quickly enough to avoid being taken down. In a world of Semblance, you learned to pay attention to your surroundings carefully. Rushing out of the field, Roman turned as a vial of Dust was thrown at him. Swinging to smack it out of the air with Melodic Cudgel, his eyes widened as it was suddenly replaced with a teenager swinging an odachi at him. The blade and cane clashed, before Roman was pushed away, stopping himself with Melodic Cudgel, "What am I paying you all for? Get her!"
One goon still in the field rushed towards the girl, only for her to whip around and slap the center of his chest, something crystalline fell out of his back as he gasped for air before the girl smacked him upside the head with her sword. It took a second of staring at the contents pulsing for Roman to realize it was the goon's still beating heart, encased in a crystal.
Ah, crap. It was her.
Another goon rushed forward, only to be dealt with in seconds, his body split in fourths vertically. The girl stepped out of the building, throwing a few lien on the counter as she pocketed a medical journal. The moment she left the field, it disappeared, though the dismembered goons didn't recover.
"Hi, Roman!" Ruby Rose said cheerfully.
"Hi, Red," of all the back alley doctors he could have run into, it had to be the one who could kick mooks' asses, didn't it, "Don't suppose I could pay you to look the other way, can I?"
"There's a difference between medical treatment and you commiting a crime, Roman," Ruby said, holding out her free hand… Which is where Roman rushed in. He had to keep her from deploying a Room or he was screwed. Once that happened, you were nothing but a patient under the scalpel.
Striking Incision Rose with Melodic Cudgel, Roman shoved Ruby back, knocking her off balance and swinging for her head. Ruby rolled to regain her balance, coming up with, "Room."
A small Room, barely big enough to fit them both formed around them, and Ruby lashed out with an open palm, Roman just barely dodging the instant loss that was that technique, leaping out of the circle and running for where the Bullhead was waiting. He heard the noise of combat boots clicking against the ground as he climbed the ladder. A Room formed around them and Ruby tossed a pebble over his head, swapping with it so she was at the top. Roman swung up Melodic Cudgel, firing a cracker of Burn Dust at Ruby and biting back the swear as Ruby swapped places with it, falling down on Roman, stabbing him through the chest with Incision Rose, which entered without a speck of blood, before he was blasted with volts of electric Dust.

Glynda watched Roman Torchwick be led into a cell. While she was undoubtedly satisfied that the notorious thief had been caught (again), she wasn't happy with how it had been done.
Pulling up the Signal file on the girl she would be questioning in a minute, she read it carefully.
Ruby Rose, 2nd year.
Weapon: Incision Rose, odachi with a built in reservoir of electric Dust.
Semblance: Operation:-
The following explanation was enough to hurt Glynda's head, but the small note at the end summed it up.
Basically, she's the surgeon and in her Room is the patient. Aura dampens effects, forcing her to put more Aura into her own attack.
Walking into the room where Ruby Rose was waiting for her, she found her rummaging in one of the pockets of her coat for something, before pulling out a pack of gum and tossing two pieces in her mouth before looking up from the medical journal she was reading, silver eyes blinking at Glynda, "Hi?"
"Do you know who I am?" Glynda asked.
"Glynda Goodwitch, "the Witch of Vale", three time winner of the Senior Huntsmen Cup and deputy headmistress of Beacon Academy. Semblance, Telekinesis. Weapon, the Disciplinarian, a riding crop with a built in reservoir of Gravity Dust.
"Then I can assume," a voice said behind Glynda said, and she glanced back in shock as her boss stepped into the room with a plate of cookies, "You know who I am?"
"Ozpin, first name classified, "The Master of Beacon", Headmaster of Beacon and Council Member of Vale. Semblance is also classified, weapon's name is unknown to the public but takes the form of a cane you can use for fencing.
"You know quite a lot about us," Ozpin said.
"I'm a Huntsmen fangirl," Ruby admitted sheepishly.
"And have an interest in medicine?"
"It's more my Semblance works better the more I know about medicine," Ruby said.
"Hmm, do you plan on going to Beacon?"
"Yeah. I want to be a Huntress, I want to meet cool people with cool weapons. I want to kill Grimm and figure out what makes them tick so we can stop them better."
"Alright then," Ozpin said, drinking from his cup of hot chocolate, "Welcome to Beacon."
There was a moment of silence, then an earsplitting shriek of joy echoed throughout the building.

Jaune sat huddled in the corner of the airbus, already regretting this and they hadn't even moved yet. He hated having motion sickness.
"Are you alright?" Jaune looked up to see a girl with black hair that lightened to red at the tips standing over him, wearing a long red coat. She had one hand in her pocket, the other bracing a long sword against her shoulder.
"Yeah," Jaune said with a nervous smile, noticing the very pretty girl with long blonde hair and what appeared to be a golden double headed dragon tattoo coiling down her arms, ending at fanged heads at the back of her hands, "I just get airsick."
The girl fished in a pocket of her coat, pulling out a small tablet and handing it to Jaune, "dissolve that under your tongue, what should deal with the worst of it. See you around Beacon. Come on, Yang, let's find a place to wait "
Jaune obediently took the medicine as they walked away.

The next day, Blake Belladonna was flying through the air. Breathing in and out calmly. This was it, she was at Beacon, this was her first step at making things right.
Landing in the treeline, she watched a red coated girl grind to a halt on the forest floor. Looking her ober, Blake couldn't help but notice she looked a bit young for Beacon, and that the back of her coat was emblazoned with a cross being entwined by two snakes, a rose in the center of the cross. She was holding an odachi as long as herself as she stared down three beowolves. A wolfish grin spread across her face as she held out her hand uttering, "Room."
A red sphere extended from her hand, surrounding the Grimm and Blake. The girl drew her odachi, swinging it in a circle around her. The trees and Grimm were sliced in half despite it not touching them. The girl began to move her hands, the Grimm's upper bodies lifting up and attaching to tree roots. Once she was done that, she walked up to one of the Grimm, which tried to slash her with it's claws only to see them cleaved off, "Be a good patient now…"
The girl slammed her hand into the center of the Grimm's chest, a crystal with a core of black goo falling out.
"No heart," she said, "but I guess whatever that is is your equivalent. Which means…" The wolfish grin returned as the 'room' faded, and the girl plunged the odachi down to pierce the crystal. The Grimm stopped it's thrashing and slumped over, decaying away, "well, that was a successful operation! Hey, do you want to come out of hiding?"
Blake realized she was being spoken to, and stepped out into the light, meeting the girl's silver eyes with her amber ones, "Hi."
"Hi! Guess we're partners now," she said, "I'm Ruby Rose."
"Blake Belladonna," Blake said, glancing at the two Grimm still struggling, "isn't this a bit much?"
"'The Road of Excess Leads To The Palace Of Wisdom,'" Ruby said sagely, obviously quoting something Blake hadn't read, "Deal with that one, would you, I've got this one."
Ruby turned, walking towards one of the beowolves. Blake turned to the other and walked up, pressing Gambol Shroud to it's head. Pulling the trigger, there was a loud rapport, and the Grimm fell dead. Turning to Ruby, she saw she had shoved her blade into the Grimm's head.
