Original fantasy LitRPG quest. Story-focused.
The Lost
Pronouns
She/They
Note: Any dice rolls in this quest will be hidden, and will mainly effect background events, not the player directly. Stat checks will also be hidden, with some exceptions.

You crack open your eyes, and find your vision blurry. You blink a few times, and your vision clears enough to make out a lot of sand.

You stumble to your feet, trying to figure out what happened, and find, unsettlingly, that you can't seem to remember anything. You fish around in your pockets, and find a ration bar, as well as a hand mirror, undamaged from whatever happened here. It's not even dirty, in fact. You open it and take a look at your face. Your reflection stares back…

Please vote in plan format!

[] Your face looks about average in beauty, as far as you can tell, with rounded ears, brown skin, and a sharp nose. (Human. Bonus to Endurance, malus to Constitution).

[] Your most immediately obvious trait is a pair of sharp horns on top of your head, followed by your deep red skin and rounded ears. You smile, and can see sharp canines. (Kulconi. Gain racial skills Fire Magic and Dark Magic. Gain drawback Prejudice).

[] You see bright maroon eyes, and pointed ears, with oddly clear brown skin. (Elf. Gain a bonus to Magic, malus to Endurance. May sacrifice up to 3 Points of Strength to gain the same in Magic).

All base stats start at ten.

You strain your memory, trying to remember who you are. You find nothing. Whoever or whatever did this, they were competent at their work.

A Beginning
[X] You see bright maroon eyes, and pointed ears, with oddly clear brown skin. (Elf. Gain a bonus to Magic, malus to Endurance. May sacrifice up to 3 Points of Strength to gain the same in Magic).

You blink at your reflection, making a few faces to see what they look like, before slipping the mirror back into your pockets. You take a look around, revealing nothing but sand dunes in every direction. How did you get here, with no supplies? Were you teleported? You suppose you should choose a name now, too… no. Wait.

"Menu," you intone out loud, and your character sheet appears.

Name: Arasne Erut
Race: Elf
Class: None
Titles: None
Skills: None
Traits: None
Spells: None
Supplies: Mirror, Ration Bar, Basic Raltine Clothes

Were you just born? That seems… wrong, somehow, like this shouldn't be possible. You chase after the feeling, only to feel a sharp pain in your head. Right, then. Ow.

If you wish to convert any Strength into Magic, now is the time. This is a permanent decision.

[] No, you will not convert any.
[] You will convert one point.
[] You will convert two points.
[] You will convert three points.

Choose three actions. Votes should be in plan format, or they will not be counted.

[] Fiddle around with your character sheet. This can't be all there is to it, right?
[] Look around the area. Maybe you missed something?
[] Search the sands around where you're standing. Perhaps there could be supples, or some such?
[] Start walking. Perhaps you'll find civilization, or water, or anything but sand.
-[] North
-[] South
-[] East
-[] West
[] Investigate your supplies. Maybe they're better than they seem?

[X] Plan Seeking Answers
-[X] Fiddle around with your character sheet. This can't be all there is to it, right?
- [X] Examine the clothing, ration bar, and mirror. Try to see if you can create a Analyze skill.
-[X] Meditate, seek answers within. Try to reach your magic source.

You frown. This feels… wrong, in some way. You aren't sure how you know this, but you feel like there should be more to this. Actual information, at least. And seeing None makes you feel deeply uncomfortable in some way.

"Traits," you try. A small box pops up, proclaiming that you have no traits. Spells, Skills, and Titles give the same result. Suddenly, another notification flashes into your vision.

<System Management Skill Gained!>

Huh. Okay.

You check your menu again, and find Stats have been added to your screen.

Strength: 7
Dexterity: 10
Endurance: 7
Focus: 10
Constitution: 10
Magic: 16

Neat. You try to look for any more options, but find none.

[X] Examine the clothing, ration bar, and mirror. Try to see if you can create a Analyze skill.

Well, if you got a skill from looking at your menu, maybe you'll get one from looking at your stuff.

You look at your clothing first. Long brown tunic, gray trousers, green sunhat. You can't see any obvious symbols on it.

You look at the ration bar next. It appears to be made up of some sort of meat jerky and cooked potato. It should be fine for a meal or two, but you'll need more food soon.

You take out the mirror, turning it around in your hands. It's a silvery color, with a light wooden casing. It's shining like it was freshly polished, and you can't find a single scratch on the thing.

Nope, no skill.

[X] Meditate, seek answers within. Try to reach your magic source.

You do have magic as your highest stat, so maybe you're a witch! You sit down and try to… think about magic, you guess?

Nope. Nothing.

Still nothing.

Okay, this is pointless. What are you even looking for?

Select three. Votes should be in plan format.

[] Fiddle around with your character sheet some more. Maybe you missed something?
[] Look around the area. Maybe you didn't see something?
[] Search the sands around where you're standing. Perhaps there could be supples, or some such?

Endure
Coin flip decides ties, Exploration wins.

[X] Plan: Exploration
-[X] Look around the area. Maybe you didn't see something?

-[X] Start walking. Perhaps you'll find civilization, or water, or anything but sand.
--[X] North

[X] Look around the area. Maybe you didn't see something?

Feally vaguely disappointed, you stand up and stretch your limbs before taking a more thorough look around. It's somewhat hard to see with the harsh sun, but you think you make out some sort of plants in the distance. You can't really make out anything else, though, unless you count sand.

[X] Search the sands around where you're standing. Perhaps there could be supples, or some such?

You decide to do just that, and search the sands where you're standing. To your suprise, you easily find a wooden box of some kind, although it's locked, a bag containing three bottles of water, nine more rations, and a warm green blanket. Odd. Maybe it has something to do with how you got here, or who you were? You dig around some more, but find nothing else.

[X] Start walking. Perhaps you'll find civilization, or water, or anything but sand.
-[X] North

With nothing else to do, you pick a direction and start walking. North it is. You quickly tire, sitting down on the sand to catch your breath. You decide that you hate walking.

[] Drink some water and continue.
[] Eat and drink before continuing.
[] Eat a ration, but conserve your water.
[] Just catch your breath for a minute, and continue walking. (-1 Mood*)
[] Do something else? (Write-In)

Current mood: 9/9

*Mood is an abstraction of how miserable your character is for the Quest, not an in-universe stat. Lower Mood gives maluses to most actions. If Mood is low enough, you may get debuffs, or your character may even flatly refuse to do some actions.

Another Attempt
[X] Plan Long Term Living
- [X] Try to use magic to condense water. Visualize water appearing in you hand, collecting around a tiny grain of dust.
-[X] Try to move sand with your mind. Try to visualize and will it to move, or anything else you can think of.
- [X] Try to find some and harvest/hunt some kind of local plant or animal. (Or fungi.)

You look longingly at the water bottle, but instead settle down on the ground. You really want water… you attempt to grasp at that feeling, imagining delicious, clear, cold water appearing in your water. Nothing. You frown. Maybe… you imagine the water around you, being pulled towards a tiny bit of sand. Nothing. No luck. And you're still thirsty.

[X] Try to move sand with your mind. Try to visualize and will it to move, or anything else you can think of.

Well, maybe you're just bad at water! You think of all the sand surrounding you obeying your will, moving to your mind. You try to condense, force it into an imitation of stone. Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

[X] Try to find some and harvest/hunt some kind of local plant or animal. (Or fungi.)

Looks like you'll have to resort to more immediately useful methods. You pick your belongings back up and set off towards the cacti in the distance, attempting to keep an eye on the ground for any other useful plants, but you're to tired to focus. You reach the cacti and frown. Are these… edible? You poke at them, avoiding the spines. They have spiky fruit-like things, a sort of greenish-purple color. You aren't sure if it'll help you or hurt you to eat them.

Eat the plants?

[] Eat them
[] Don't eat them
[] A more complicated plan? (Write-In)
