OPs. "The next step on the evolution of mankind" they called them. More like our replacements.
Their offical name is actually OP of course. Its some scientific mumbo jumbo like "Homo Comotatius" or something like that, but once the OPs became an official military unit, it caught on. No one knows where they came from: the religious nutjobs we're fighting say they're angels come to Earth, the glasses think they're the natural end result of all the fighting that's going on, and everyone else just wonders when this war will be over.
And I'm one of them. Hey everyone its me again! I've got another original idea for you lot! I swear I won't disappear for 6 months again, scouts honor. Blame college. This quest is primarily story driven, and as such the only stats you'll have are your health and your stamina, which dictates your ability to last in combat and how often you can use your powers, starting at 100 and 35 respectively. Everything else is DCs. But first, some important questions!
1) Choose your gender.
-[] Male
-[] Female
-[] Genderless
-[] Other
2) Choose a power from the list, or make up one within reasonable bounds. I'm looking at you Superman fans.
- [] Hyper-regeneration - Can recover a large portion of your health but consumes a lot of stamina, so you'll have to eat and rest a lot.
- [] Shapeshifting - Can change physical appearance to one of similar size/shape, constant drain of stamina.
- [] Enhanced Combat - A combination of increased strength and heightened reflexes make you excellent at close quarters combat, with all the inherent dangers.
- [] Foresight - You can see up to a day into the future, but spur of the moment decisions cannot be seen and instead will give you a vision of possible futures. Requires intense concentration.
- [] Telepathy - You can mentally communicate with people nearby or attempt to glean information from enemies. Requires you to first form a link and long conversations are strenous.
3) Choose your unit, to determine what kind of training you received.
- [] Paratrooper Battalion - Also known as the Airmen, these guys are the first ones in combat and the last ones out. They are deployed via rail-chutes to the battlefield and are focused on moving quickly on the battlefield with light weaponry and scouting deployment areas for the big guns.
- [] Mounted Armor Unit - This unit is focused on using vehicles to break through sieges and cross long distances towards the battle. Armed with the big guns, but you're in the thickest action.
- [] Project Hyperion - One of the most elite units in the military, soldiers in Project Hyperion form a bond with the semi-sapient 3 meter tall exosuits known as Titans. However, the bond has been known to drive those without a prodigious amount of willpower insane, and you'll be fighting against OPs on a daily basis - only the brave, the patriotic, or the suicidal volunteer for Project Hyperion.
- [] Clandestine Intelligence - Known unofficially as Section 6, the soldiers in clandestine intelligence work behind enemy lines to disrupt communications, assassinate enemy officers, and perform counter-intelligence. Once you're in Section 6, you only leave with a star or in a body bag.
Feel free to post, I'm trying to keep relevant info in the OP this time so no reserved posts.

I have a clear idea in my head of tagging an important enemy officer and waiting for them to read battle plans or something equally important. When they see it, we will see it, and can write a copy of the report/strategy/logistical records to send to our superiors.

The fact that it even says the word "instant" disqualifies it. This more of a Worm-setting than a marvel one, so I'd like to keep *some* realism in it.

However, the bond has been known to drive those without a prodigious amount of willpower insane, and you'll be fighting against OPs on a daily basis - only the brave, the patriotic, or the suicidal volunteer for Project Hyperion. The military jeep dropped you off in front of the hastily erected building, one of the largest in the camp. Despite the long journey by chopper, train, and now jeep, there was still one more step you had to go before you reached your goal. You look up, gazing upon the symbol adorning the door - a golden fascimile of a man, holding the sun in his hand. Project Hyperion.
Using the QR code tattooed on your neck back during enlistment, you enter the building and are chilled by the temperature in here - it was 16 degrees in here easily, maybe even lower. The secretary smiled at you while he was on the phone, waving you on towards a heavily scuffed up door. It opened at just your touch, and you stood in the dark room after the door closed automatically after you. Suddenly, a light turned on above: floodlights lit up the immediate area, and on a pedestal rested a AR headset. You had heard about these: the pilots supposedly used them to see the battle from inside a Titan's metal cage, but why was this one here is what you don't understand. Sitting down on a nearby crate, you pick up the small device and examine the electronic stimuli sensors that connects the user to whatever the hell this thing is hooked up with. Looking around to make sure no one was here, you slip it on your head and feel the slight rush as you enter a new world.
Darkness, no, Chaos, reigns here. The boundaries of this world are in constant flux, a dark zone. Instictively you know that this is incomplete, only a part of what you were meant to see. There. 4 pillars of light, order in this realm of change, each topped by a distinct signal. You are drawn to one of them...
- [] The transient, yet solid light of balance. Dependable yet adaptable, the ideal of humanity in all its forms.
- [] The ever-glowing, furious flames of passion. Never dying and yet always on the verge of collapse, offense in its purest form.
- [] The stone-cold and eternal nature of diligence. Lasting for all of eternity, an unbreakable constant in the winds.
- [] The fleeting and capricious winds of hope. Flirting with death is no strange thing, unpredictability a guiding compass.
