[X] Drawing on Nemo's eyes, but beautiful in the way you see them. Mesmerising, dark as the depths of the oceans, pulling you in.. but human as well, so while you smile you still have the crow's feet by your eyes.

[X] Spend time swimming with best boy Nemo

I was going to vote for intelligence, but charisma now seems like a better idea

we have had our accident. we have survived an overdose. lets not chase the dragon, channeling more and more.

Additionally, is the ocean really something that can be called? its beyond anythings control, calling an ocean spirit is like as not to just wash us out.

I was tempted by the intelligence or the muscles, or maybe proposing something else like pointed teeth or echolocation.

But mesmerizing eyes are fine for me.

I don't think we will ever be "returning" to pure humanity. Integrating and accepting the changes... I see no "endgame decision" which reverts things. If such a thing existed, I would likely vote against it.
The fact we don't feel a mental call or compulsion to the ocean is good however. Hopefully that means we are still essentially the same in the ways that matter.

Now that we have left behind pure humanity, I would actually advocate for the reverse approach. Seek out or create other supernatural influences to take benefits from.
My over all goal remains the same. To not let any external force have undue influence over our self. Better the deep to be just one note in a symphony.

Anyway for what benefit to take from our self improvement, hmm. I'm tempted to go for muscles or intellect, which I assume correspond to Strength or Intelligence. Unless someone has any unique ideas for improvements?

I'm tempted to vote for just spending time swimming with Nemo. We still are on a bit of a sanity deficit since we didn't really have a break. That or maybe go looking for deep ones? Calling out sounds reckless.

I've been thinking. It could be I was wrong, and we missed the mark for Oliver to separate from eldritch. To take the chance and see if we could transition it into a tool, the masks - than a part of Oliver's being.

Perhaps if we took the chance, even if there were consequences maybe Oliver would have restored his sanity in exchange. His current mental state is really troubling.

I've tried to subvert consequences in the past when pulling occult actions and seeing there were backlash, made me uncharacteristically gunshy this turn. I like grand magics..

I'd still like make a precommitment though, that should later in the story if things align and the choice is offered.. I'll vote for Oliver to reclaim his humanity back. I believe things aren't yet set in stone for Oliver's journey.

In the meanwhile, it would definitely be the right call to opt away from Deep one magics for now and keep him well balanced with his other arts. What do you guys think about experimenting with the gem? Do we try make a more limited time shenanigans, or maybe try to befriend the Hound with Nemo?

Swimming with Nemo
You carefully altered your eyes on your portrait. This was not a straight forward task. Everything you had done before was building on a foundation. This was breaking new territory. It helped that the ocean had already bled into you through Nemo. You felt your sight sharpen and alter as you worked.

Gained Eldritch Sight: you can see things others cannot, and have better sight than the average human

The end result was, in your opinion, stunning. Eyes worth spending hours staring into.

At the beach you changed into a striped set of trunks and a stylish swim top. You knew that fashions were altering, with more men being exposed, but you didn't quite feel ready to strip that far, even with just Nemo for company. You dove into the ocean and found yourself taking a breath of relief. It felt good to be in the water. Nemo was quick to circle up around you and grab your hand to pull you to check out various points underwater. They pointed out seaweed, fish, and a small outcropping that they dug some kind of shellfish out of that they happily crunched on. It was clear that they wanted to go further from shore, and you felt that you could handle it.

[X] Stay near the shore
-[X] Invite Emily for a picnic, to eat the fish you and Nemo catch. Bring her an underwater flower.
-[X] Short portrait of Nemo frolicking in the waters if it helps you relax together with Emily.

Lets optimise Sanity instead, nothing like a beach episode.

If Nemo wants to, and we think we can handle it, there is no reason to stop here:

[X]Go deeper

We came here to see what the deep is like. It's time we do so. Maybe we could find and catch up with those we met on our very first jobs. See how Mariia Goldtouch and her daughter have been doing.

[X]Go deeper

I felt like this was a flavor text vote, for what kind of environment that is explored. I didn't get the impression of tallies or other numerical changes to a stat block happening.

[X]Go deeper

We can always have the picnic later. It's beautiful beneath the sea. Provided we don't overextend our stay..

Also gives us the chance to grab a proper souvenir for Emily. I'm also really curious about the deep ones we helped. What their lives and society below is like.

Underwater
You swam deeper out into the ocean with Nemo. Briefly you surfaced for more air before sinking down again. You weren't like Nemo, you did still need air to breath. It wasn't often, but you did have to take breaks for it. At first there was plenty of seaweed where you swam, but as you headed deeper that faded away to leave just the sand and the currents. You could catch glimpses of fish swimming, and occasionally Nemo would shoot off with a speed you felt rather envious of to catch one.

Despite taking on more of Nemo's traits, you were adapted to the land. This was clear in how you could not match anywhere close to Nemo's speed. Nemo thankfully was more than happy to take their time with you, occasionally grabbing you to help pull you along. Their spines currently laid flat against their body, making them more streamlined for swimming. It was a sight to see. You were used to Nemo's slightly awkward gait on land. You knew they were perfectly comfortable on land. It was only now seeing them in the depths that you understood they had never been meant to live on land entirely. Perhaps part of the duty of the younglings was to help fetch things from land for their ocean bound masters. Nemo was certainly intelligent enough to be trusted with such a task as long as it was kept simple.

The first shark that you spotted had you tensing in fear. The shark didn't seem to notice your presence at all however, and you watched as it continued to drift lazily along. The next handful of sharks you saw were much the same, and you found yourself curious. You swam out to examine the sharks, and found much to your surprise that they were skittish. You had to stay still and drift before one came over to explore you, much like a curious puppy. It nosed at you with the round end of its head, and didn't even try to bite. You reached out and gently touched the surface of the shark. At first it felt smooth, but turning your hand back up had you cutting yourself on it.

Nemo arrived as soon as your blood hit the water, growling and wrapping around you protectively. You patted them gently and stroked their scales. You were alright, you just hadn't expected what touching a shark would be like. The sharks had, of course, scattered. It was strange and bewildering and wondrous to observe what was here in the water. You had expected so much, and yet none of your expectations were brought to life down here.

There was life, and it was beautiful. None of it was how you had expected it. Being here brought you an unexpected peace, and you were glad you had taken the time to come out.

You returned the next day for another swim, and another. You found red kelp that you could decorate with underwater, though it fell apart when brought out. You chased after fish, and you watched horseshoe crabs slowly scuttle over the bottom of the sea. A few times you thought you caught a glimpse of something more, but you didn't know if you were ready to break this peace you had found.

Sanity restored

[X]Have a picnic at the beach with Emily. And..
-[X] Roast the fish you and Nemo caught by the seashore. Surprise Emily with a souvenir from the depths that you know she'll like.
-[X] Paint the sunset as Nemo plays among the waves. Idly sketching Emily as she sits relaxed, depicting her human side this time.

I like this more relaxing interlude. We can try to contact the Deep Ones later if we want.

What do you guys think Emily would appreciate though, based on what we know about her so far?

There's a lot of interesting things underwater, but what could Oliver realistically bring up that would appeal to her sensibilities...

I really liked the shark scene. The fact that they were approaching Oliver respectfully was an interesting tidbit.. Animals can sense power.

Sharks are, in fact, more skittish than you would expect from what you read about them. Oliver doesn't come across as typical prey, so they are cautious investigating him
