Won't he just claim ignorance of the Troll, too? Or can we pivot from the Troll into Horra's sunlight weaponry, and the fact that the Lurkalings have it?

Actually, are we sure that the person here is Horra himself, and not an ensorcelled individual shaped like Horra? A pasty that thinks it's you or even an imperfect clone is a very powerful tool, and it is plausible with his shapecrafting and necromancy

That's the idea. We make him admit to knowing how to make those, and then point out "So, my neighbor Toki of the Ducklings says that the Lurkalings have started wielding Sun-Iron weapons, and how interesting that you've also started producing dwarf-designed ballista at the same time. Even having so much that you can afford to lose some to foreign raiders."

It very well could be, we know he's a very capable Fleshcrafter. Creating a body double and enchanting it would be a doable trick.

Either way, it means he'll have holes, because he doesn't know the full scope of the Master Plan. He might be able to continually claim ignorance, burning his credibility more and more. And then we go for the kill with the Sanctum reveal.

That doesn't matter. The Trolls existence gives reasonable cause. Drysalt justifies a followup. And if Horra calls us a liar, then the panel will know something fucky is going on to circumvent the oathring.

. "I swear on the name I bear that I have never even touched Stronghoof, let alone brought him out to horse fights. I hate horses, can't stand the things. Whoever did this could not have been me."

Nothing happens as he speaks, no oaths have been broken. Whether that's because he's telling the truth or because he's snaked his way through you don't know.

That's some clever weasel-words, since he can bear multiple names and thereby swear it on a name unnconnected to these oaths.

Man, I remember someone asking if we could have the Seeress attend the trial - I think the answer was yes? Or it was changed to yes after the reveal that women could testify - but we never went through with it. A shame.

And if Horra calls us a liar, then the panel will know something fucky is going on to circumvent the oathring.

Fair enough. There's only so many things he can feign innocence for, before it becomes suspicious.

Tick tock Horra.
And one of the neutrals is the elephant merchant, who will probably have strong opinions on the elephant Draugr.

@Imperial Fister
What kind of vote is needed for the assembled court to go and visit the sanctum?

[X] Plan: Press the Attack

My only question is if we need to have the dwaves themselves testify or if our word is enough.

[X] Plan: Press the Attack
-[X] "I admit, this was not necessarily enough to warrant much suspicion, after all, the quarrel between our houses has been silent for some time, and I would not completely put out the possibility of another manipulating us. And yet, defending this very Scorn-Pole was a Troll! When my fellows and I undid the spell on the Pole, we laid a trap for the Troll. When it was injured, I tricked it into thinking it had been betrayed whomever set up the Scorn-Pole. It spoke then of one 'Drysalt' putting him in contact with another who sold the hill to him--on the condition that he protect the Pole, and proceeded to turn away, vengeance in his heart. Seeking an opportunity to track down the curse-maker, I followed it, wishing to get to the bottom of this deed most foul, and who does it confront? But Horra Hasvison, his son in tow. It let out an accusation, of being cheated, and was promptly struck down with an iron dagger infused with the power of the Sun, its remains worn away by Horra's son, also named as Hasvir."
-[X] "Now, admittedly, the Drysalt question is still up in the air, so I continued digging in the aftermath of this, this is likely when my Fylgja was noticed. I certainly have no idea how that somehow became thievery, as I've not taken a thing from your property, but given how as far as I know, you set up a forbidden curse pole and set a Troll to guard it, I had no reason to expect you to welcome me with open arms, and I had every reason to be trying to protect my family from such magic."
-[X] Contingency: If Hasvir does that squirrelly thing again where he tries to swear without actually giving his name, press him on that, it's a weird thing to focus on, and you know Horra's a fleshcrafter. You wouldn't rule out that this is a body-double.

This is good

Forces him into a number of unpleasant forks just to defend his own accusations, and softens him up for when the SERIOUS accusations start flying in from us

[X] Plan: Press the Attack

The husband is absolutely going to claim that his wife Saw shit that corroborates the accusations though. Tragically, this will reveal a Trickery or oath circumventing bluff. Which will then implicate the entire damn family lol

By the time they're done arguing why Halla was in the wrong regardless theyll be unable to handle the sanctum accusations properly

Hasvir takes to the stand, his head already shaking as he makes his denials. "I swear on the name I bear that I have never even touched Stronghoof, let alone brought him out to horse fights. I hate horses, can't stand the things. Whoever did this could not have been me."
We don't need any suspicion of anything extraordinary yet. All he needs to have done is have someone else make the pole.

Edit: as to the last sentence, it could technically be read as "someone else could have done it". And wording is the tool of a runecrafter.

I've made a few wording adjustments, nothing serious, just tuning up the accuracy from my memory.

The benefit of never determining Drysalts identity is that he serves as a plausible excuse for Halla scouting out the place as followups to the Scorn pole incident.
