Honestly, would like to play son 1, It would be a fun and hectic as shit ride. Choosing between the 3 is like choosing between Hard, Normal and Easy. And Son 1 will be hard in every way positive and negative.

Nah, I'm all for Boy 2, this is a fascinating setting and he's the one equipped to dig into it.

What with how he doesn't need to get stuck in every so often or get antsy and all.

Honestly Halle (boy 2) and Abjorn are the MVP. As long as one is near Eric (boy 1) he rerolls everytime he breaks his composure due to low self control. Halle is truly a blessing upon us.

Does tradition say the name has to be the same/minimal changes (like Hallr -> Halla) or would a name clearly inspired also work (Hallr -> Hallrun)?

Not sure i want to name him just Halle...
But yeah, he is great.
Additional detail:
If Hallrun earns his sisters loyalty he'd be someone that can stop her from doing anything stupid (via composure re-roll) (as per qm, apparently upgraded Bloodlust is somehow worse than unupgraded Bloodlust+Wrathfull+low self control) that she is loyal to for life.

Yeah i get you but Hallrun is gonna be my knew one since i realized idk how to pronounce Halle, none of my names are canon after all, i just find it weird refering to them by such generic names.

You only name children after dead relatives. Naming them after alive ones is a bit of an insult as it's implying that the namesake will die soon.

Now, naming them after yourself is a different story.

Good to know. Though since Hallr had to die to hang out in our mind...

Still, would it count as "naming after" if the name is clearly inspired by, but not the same?
Like theoretically Hallrun being named after Hallr (our very much not alive anymore grandfather).

If we get the Jarlsoul Boon, will our chosen heir, whoever it is, get Jarlsoul? As otherwise it seems all but certain that we will fill all our children slots before we even finish Jarl in the Making.

Edit: it's a little wild Boy 2 didn't get Bloodlust despite it being 4d and only needing one success for it.

This is a good question, as logically they should, just from being named as heir.

I'm not sure we'll have 9 kids quite that quickly there...breastfeeding for two years was standard and works as pretty effective birth control. Even averaging twins, we're probably talking more than 10 years to get through all 9 kids...more like 20 years is very possible.

We may be able to pass on some of our work on the Jarlsoul Boon.
Like those who have sworn fealty to Halla seing Boy 2 as a worthy heir making it easier for him to win them over to swear fealty to him.

Nah, its heredetiary like bloody basics, at least it came across as that.
You are either born a Jarlsoul or you go through the hardships to become one.
Charred Soul is special in its passing to a chosen heir....

Being a Jarl's chosen heir definitely seems like it should give you Jarlsoul even if you weren't born with it. Like, I would expect a kid adopted by a Jarl (or who the Jarl thinks is theirs but is actually the result of adultery) to still have Jarlsoul if they designate them as their heir just for reasons of logic.

+1 Auto-Success to Crafting Training, thanks to Sten's Teachings

didn't know we had these, might be worth considering since scythe making and like is apart of this

We're gonna be putting 1d6 into Housecraft every turn for the foreseeable future, I think, once we're home (as well as one into the Housecraft Trick we're working on until its done). The returns are just too good (averaging 2 and 2/3 successes per turn). We're honestly probably doing the same with all of the craft skills until they hit at least 4 or so...again, the returns are really good (averages only 2 successes per turn, but that's still great).

Those don't apply while we're out raiding, obviously, which is why we wait until we're home.
