You had to go after Kimimaro! You body flickered away, following Kimimaro and catching up to him. He turned his head back and looked with mild surprise, "You're a shinobi?"
"Yeah, and I wanna help out!" you said.
"Normally I'd say mind your own business, but I'd appreciate any help when it comes to Gaikotsu," Kimimaro seriously said.
"That bad, eh?"
"Gaikotsu isn't mentally well and with his kekkei genkai, he can wreak havoc! Without Hiricho to stop him, it's up to me since his powers won't work too well." Kimimaro explained. You wanted to ask more questions, but in the distance you could hear faint screams, so you decided to shut up and focus on getting to where this Gaikotsu was! Eventually you followed Kimimaro to the Kaguya district, a plot of land with a large wall surrounding it. You ran up the wall with Kimimaro and stopped on top of it.
Looking down, you could see a large clearing in the middle of the mini-town, where a single man stood in the center with dozens of bodies surrounding him. You saw some people, most likely shinobi, standing still and staring down the man, presumably Gaikotsu.
"Gaikotsu!" Kimimaro bellowed out, making the man in the center of the clearing look up at him. Gaikotsu was tall and lanky with deep blue eyes with greasy and dirty white hair sprawling near the ground in length. He wore old, tattered, and filth encrusted black and brown robes that didn't really fit his size, almost falling off his body. But out of everything, what was most notable was the large, toothy smile that he kept on his face at all times.
Gaikotsu's Theme
"Oh, Kimmy! I didn't know you had a bone to pick with me? Where's dear old Hiricho?" Gaikotsu asked before bursting into high pitched laughter.
"I'll be the one to put you back in your chains, Gaikotsu." Kimimaro icily replied, jumping down from the wall and across from Gaikotsu. You followed Kimimaro, standing right next to him.
"Ah, I see little Kimmy was going on a date! Not too smart to introduce me to her, y'know!" Gaikotsu chuckled while he shrugged and shook his head. "Girls love a bad boy, and I'm bad to the bone! HAAAAAAAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Does he always talk like this?" you asked.
"Unfortunately," Kimimaro muttered.
"What's your name, girl?" Gaikotsu asked, pointing a finger at you, which to your shock you saw his bone emerge from the tip of his finger, sharpened into a fine point. "If you don't tell me, I might have to...get to the point!"
Another burst of laughter followed before Kimimaro outstretched his fingers and fired the tips of his finger bones at Gaikotsu! Gaikotsu swiped upwards with his hand and the body laying in front of him suddenly flew upwards, blocking the attack!
"Now calm down Kimmy, you shouldn't CUT in line!" Gaikotsu cried out, his rib cage expanding and firing off a few ribs that began to spin rapidly, becoming buzz saw like projectiles! Kimimaro dodged the bone blades as Gaikotsu made a weird motion with his hand! Kimimaro grunted in shock as he flew off to the side, slamming into a nearby building.
"You don't understand, girl! I'm locked away in the basement most of the time! They fear my power, it's a very bonely existence!" Gaikotsu shouted out.
"Sounds like you are trying to justify all the murder you did!" you exclaimed.
"Please, I'm only making a killing because these guys deserve it! I want to be free as a bird! This is not where I belong!" Gaikotsu replied, his smile faltering a bit as he said those words. Was...he telling the truth?
"Don't believe him!" Kimimaro roared, jumping back into position.
You were suddenly confused. You felt there was a hint of truth in Gaikotsu's rambling, but at the same time, he did mercilessly kill all these people.
What will you do?
[] Team up with Kimimaro to fight Gaikotsu!
[] Ask Kimimaro to stand down, perhaps you can talk Gaikotsu out of this!
[] It might be sudden, but you feel a strong sense of empathy for Gaikotsu. Help him!

[X] Start handseals for Stains of Time, tell Kimimaro to be ready to incapacitate him, use Stains of Time, make sure it's clear you want to talk to him before he's locked up. (He/him is Gaikotsu)

Stopping war is our overall mission. I'm not enthused by starting by this guy, but we should at least try.

I believe that you have to target people. It's not all encompassing by default.
Paralyzing Touch is a maybe. But the 10 seconds provided by Stains of Time should be enough to incap in less chakra intensive ways...

Gaikotsu's Battle Theme
"Get ready to incapacitate him!" you said to Kimimaro as you slung together hand seals, but before you finished the last seal, your hands froze in place, some force stopping you! You tried to move your hands to finish the genjutsu but your felt your muscles and tendons flex uselessly, it was as if your bones refused to move! Oh...wait a moment...
"Gaikotsu can control your bones from a distance, this is why he's feared!" Kimimaro shouted out, rushing forward at Gaikotsu, bone blades sprouting from his arms to attack the laughing man. Gaikotsu made an upward motion with his hand, sending your hands into your throat, making you sputter and cough as you tried to breath, but it was rather difficult!
"Aw, don't choke against me, girl! But I suppose I am hard to swallow!" Gaikotsu madly laughed as he engaged in taijutsu with Kimimaro, but Gaikotsu was rapidly overwhelmed by Kimimaro's graceful attacks, jabbing pointed bones into Gaikotsu multiple times and sending him stumbling away.
"I think you made your point, Kimmy!" Gaikotsu shrieked, despite the holes in his robe, you could see no injuries underneath! Gaikotsu screamed as bones ripped out of his arms, forming into skeletal arms, complete with hands and fingers, attached itself behind his shoulder blades. At this point you managed to recover, but Gaikotsu's new arms made odd movements, as if he they were controlling a marionette and four corpses rose from the ground, swarming Kimimaro!
Gaikotsu turned towards you and laughed before firing out three ribs from his chest right at you!
What will you do?

@Megacookie Does Adachi/Maya need hand seals to do Substitution Jutsu? Or are they proficient enough to do that without hand seals?
You can basically do it without hand seals, its babby stuff.
Same question but regarding the Limb Switch Genjutsu.
You need hand seals for that. It's not babby stuff.
[X] Open the Second Gate and overwhelm the bone control with chakra and muscle power, then apply the Limb Switch Genjutsu and Touch of Disorientation with the Naraka Path and beat him up with taijutsu.
I think Limb Switch and Touch of Disorientation should futz with his bone control. He can't control bones if he doesn't know where they are. The weak part is using the Second Gate to try to overwhelm his control of us... we could literally rip ourselves apart. Or just fail.

Small question, did you want to turn into Adachi for that plan? He gets a boost to taijutsu skills, after all. Course, Maya gets the genjutsu boost so both are fine, just wanted to know.
