So, I'd like to blame @Stardust Falcon and @CmptrWz for starting me on the NanohaXWorm trend. That being said, I was hesitent to actually post this, but when I was reading some old fanfiction on Beast's Lair, something a poster said to another poster stuck with me. If you want to write, write. Throw your big brass balls out their and say I wrote this. If its not that good its fine, you can only improve. So yeah, here is this little mess I wrote. Enjoy, I hope.

000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

For Fate T.H. Takamachi, the act of arriving back home on Mid was a welcome one. She had just finished off a long tour of duty that had lasted four weeks and was eager to see her wife and daughter again. The thought of eating Nanoha's cooking while listening to Vivio chatter on about her day was a soothing one, making her eagerness to return home all the more apparent. All she needed to do was log out for the day, having finished her paperwork, and she could return home to a loving wife and daughter. On her way out however, she saw someone who made her take a detour.

"Taylor," Fate called out, "how are you doing this evening? Did you just get back from a mission yourself?"

"Not really a mission per say, but I had to bodyguard for Ix the last three days as well as deal with all the crap that happened while being a bodyguard. Had to deal with some idiots trying to use some Lost Logia that was actually in decent shape and useable. They used it to summon some sort of guardian beasts or something I dunno. I swear I'm just cursed to never have an easy job." Taylor said as she turned and looked at her, obviously tired from whatever mission she had been on.

As Fate chuckled and nodded to Taylor's semi-faked annoyance at her luck (or lack therefore of) at the missions she undertook, she examined the girl a bit more closely. Standing roughly about 173cm, (she could hear Taylor protesting that her height was 5 feet 8 inches in her head) slightly thin while wearing a loose dark blue and gold hooded sweatshirt and sweatpants, her hood down displaying long, beautiful curly black hair. Tired eyes, one red and one brown, shone out behind glasses, all the more making her look like a tired student going for her mastery instead of the civilian contractor mage that she was. And despite all her grumbling on the difficulty her last job had, her body had no injuries at all; a testament to the girls and her partner's skill and power. Speaking of Taylor's partner…

"Yo blondie, you just get back yourself?" a voice lazily called out, a pale hand and blonde hair peeking out of Taylor's hood.

"Indeed, it's good to see that you and Taylor are doing well Cipher," Fate replied to the jovial voice.

"Pffft, I'm always doing good, its Taylor you should worry about. She totally needs people to watch out for her, the reckless girl," Cipher replied teasingly, having shifted out of his spot so he was more visible, and his partner could lightly glare at him.

"I'm not reckless Cipher, I just wanted the fight to end faster," she protested, "if I had to take a hit to win, which didn't even scratch me, that's perfectly fine in my books.

Rolling his green eyes in annoyance, Cipher spoke back in an annoyed voice.
"You could have dodged the attack to the left and still would have won you daft waif! There was no need to take any hits at all," he shot back at her.

"Yeah well it was faster! And don't call me a waif! Who even says that anymore?" she shot back just as fast.

Fate chuckled at the old argument that was happening (which she agreed with Cipher on) and continued to walk to her car. During the time they were talking, they had slowly move from the lobby to the parking lot, Taylor following along out of instinct, took focused on the argument with her Device to pay attention. As she walked up to her vehicle, Fate decided to tease the girl a bit.

"Oh, are you coming home with me? Vivio would be glad to have her 'sister' join us for dinner tonight," she said with a teasing grin, causing Taylor and Cipher to stop their impromptu spat and groan and laugh respectively.

"Just because I get blonde hair and red and green eyes when I Unison with Cipher does not make us sisters Fate. Please stop saying that, you people are gonna drive Lulu mad with jealousy one of these days," she complained with a small pout.

"I dunno Tay," spoke out her amused Device, "You both are pretty similar. Hardheaded, determined, have heterochromia, are pretty kind, pretty in general mph!"

Fate watched amusingly as Taylor shoved her partner back in her hood with a light blush across her face and began to mutter under her breath about annoying blondes, causing laughter to come from both said blondes.

"Anyway, I had just came here to drop off the report of my side of the events that happened, so I'm off to home. My dad's vacation starts tomorrow, so we are going to relax together with Lulu and Mo-Megane," the girl said with a slightly pained look at the end, causing Fate to frown a little.

"Is it really so hard to call Megane your mother? I thought you and Megane were getting along great Taylor."

"Yes, no I…" the dark hair girl replied while stumbling over her words. "Its just, I really do like Megane. She's been great to be around this last year and she's been great for my dad. I'm looking forward to the wedding and, and I do like the idea of Lulu as my little sister but…"

"But she isn't your mother, and you feel like you would be betraying your own birth mother if you called Megane that," Fate softly said, causing Taylor to deflate.

"Yeah, that's it. I just don't really get it because I like Megane and I love Mom and…"

Fate slowly move to the front of the car and gently took hold of Taylor's hands, causing her to slowly stop talking and gently looked the girl in the eyes.

"I felt the similar when I was adopted. At the time, I felt like I didn't deserve it, and that Lindy shouldn't have had to go to such lengths for me," she said, Taylor's slightly teary eyes locked onto her own. "But then I realized that I could still love my original mother and Lindy as well, because the woman who wanted to become my new mother loved me too. My birth mother wasn't the nicest to me, but I still loved her. You never really stop missing them, but the great thing about loving someone is that you can still love them and make room for more. Be a little greedy for yourself Taylor, and let yourself be loved."

Taylor had small tears in her eyes as Fate stated this with a gentle smile and let out a small laugh as she wiped her eyes and blinked any new ones away.

"You know the funny thing Fate," said Taylor with a soft snort, causing Fate to tilt her head to the side in curiosity, "is that Ci said the same thing a few months back when I found out about Dad getting remarried, but I kinda ignored him at the time because I was mad about it. I really hate that someone else had the same advice as him, because that means he was right."

"Please Taylor, I'm over 3000 years old. With all that experience in life, I'm always right," the smug sounding Unison Device stated, floating down in front of Taylor and Fate, giving them a full view of himself.

He hadn't changed much from when Fate last saw him, still in his small form at 37 cm tall, with blonde hair and green eyes. A black bodysuit with heavy duty boots of the same color and an off white duster coat with grey forarms held at the waist with a belt. Fate knew he also wore actual armor sometimes but she couldn't remember it well, having seen it only once a year ago. The smug look on his face wasn't new either, but it didn't last long as Taylor reached out and grabbed him.

"Yeah right," she scoffed with an annoyed look on her face, shaking him as he laughed heartily. "I'd listen to you more if you were actually serious and not so damn smug about everything you ass!"

Fate let out a small sigh, glad that Taylor was at least able to bounce back quickly before saying "At the very least you two always get along well."

"Of course we do," Cipher stated proudly. "Taylor is my other half. She completes me. I always got her back and she has mine."

Taylor let out huffed as she calmed down. "Hmph, I can't even stay mad at you, you smug jerk. And could you not say it like that. It makes it sound like we're married or something."

Fate let out a soft sigh as the two laughs, clearly getting along in their own way. "Well, as long as you two getting along."

Taylor and Cipher's eyes twinkled as they look at her innocently.

"We always get along."
"We don't fight."
"Nope."
"Never."
"Best friends."
"Partners for life."
"Yup."
"Uh-huh."
"Even if Taylor smells."
"You bastard!"

Fate finally just let out a laugh as they went back to arguing and shook her head. Her laughter caused their arguing to stop and for them to smile at her.

"Well, at the very least, make sure you do come visit. Vivio would enjoy it, and you two are always welcome as friends."

"Yeah yeah, we get it," Cypher said having escaped Taylor's grip, now sitting on her head.

"Yeah, I'll try to get over there sometime. Just as long as you let up on the sister jokes." Taylor said with a small smile now adorning her face.

Fate chuckled as she started to head for the driver's side and was about to open the door when Taylor made a small sound, causing her to look up.

"And uh, thanks for the advice. I'll, I'll try," She said with nervous energy and a slight smile. "With Megane, I'll try to do what you said. You and Cipher both."

Fate was about to respond when she saw Taylor's smile disappear and be replaced by serious look. With a sudden burst movement and flairing magical energy, Taylor quickly blocked a shot from behind with her now manifested sword, causing Fate to manifest her own Barrier Jacket and shift to a stance with her back to Taylor's.

<Did you catch where it came from?> she questioned telepathically as Bardiche finished setting up.

<It was a guided shot that circled from above to my back. With the power, speed and precision behind it, the person must be at least within 50 meters.> Taylor's calm and serious telepathic voice answered back.

<Alright, let's be careful then. Do you know anyone who would be stupid enough to assault you on TSAB HQ?> Fate stated as she began to prepare an Area Search spell.

<Considering I've pissed some people off over the last year, I can think of a few.> Taylor answered back wryly.

<Probably someone you know that's pretty strong and very confidant, don't you think?> A new voice rang out telepathically, causing Taylor to stiffen.

"This voice…You? How?!" Taylor's shocked voice rang out, causing Fate to turn to her and see a shocked expression on her face.

"Oh you know, old dogs like us are hard to kill." a familiar, slightly distorted voice rang out, causing Fate to turn her head towards it.

"Teana!?" Fate cried out in shock. Why would Teana be attacking them? However a closer look at Teana cause Fate to frown.

Teana's once pure orange hair now had streaks of electric blue running through it and the white long coat with a red arm and black-grey bodysuit were not her Barrier Jacket designs, but with out a doubt the woman was Teana Lanster, a fellow Enforcer.

"Fate! Defend yourself!" Taylor's voice shot through the shock as her blade cut through the air, deflecting the half-dozen bullets that had slammed down upon them from above while she was distracted.

"What is going on? Teana please explain yourGRAH!" Fate cried out as a strong bolt of magic blindsided her, knocking her to the ground next to her car. She quickly attempted to get up but was shocked to find she could barely move. In fact, she was feeling rather sluggish and tired.

"A paralysis shot?" she thought as she began to feel sleepy. "No, this is more then just paralysis, I'm losing consciousness. This isn't a spell that Teana has ever used before."

"Starfall: Rain!" Teana declared as a magic circle with square shaped enclosed in a circle appeared below her. She pointed the vicious looking gun-shaped Device in her hand that was not Cross Mirage towards the sky and firing. Over a dozen bullets erupted from the gun and slammed down on Taylor's postition, resulting in a large explosion.

"Taylor!" Fate cried out as she tried to fight the spell off. Looking back at Teana, she saw her wearing a smirk that definitely didn't belong on her face. As the darkness finally began to claim her, Teana's voice rang out.

"I can't exactly attack how I would like to in this body. It really isn't too strong magically, but it'll do for this rush job of a fight. Ain't too bad in the looks department either." Teanas's distorted voice spoke casually as her eyes flickered over her own body. Satified with whatever she was looking at, she shifted to look at the dust cloud, she called out in the direction of the cloud. "Yo Buddy? You still alive?"

Prologue Zero, Part 2
Danny Hebert was a man who had been through a lot in his life. From the rise of Parahumans on his homeworld, something he never thought he would be thinking, to the first terrifying apperence of the Endbringers. The worst of it for him being the loss of his wife, which had caused him to collapse into himself and barely be able to take care of Taylor, and the sealed Lost Logia that his mother had left behind that had nearly blinded Taylor forever and had nearly gotten them killed. They would have died if not for them blindly stumbling onto Cypher. But nothing really terrified him more than when he had gotten a call that Taylor had been attacked and was in the hospital on Mid. He dropped everything (Menage said she would take care of it, god he loved her) and cast his Dimensional Transport spell as fast as he could. As he entered said hospital, he was approached by the one who had called him, his long-lost aunt, one of the the legendary Admirals of the TSAB, Kei Nagase.

Admiral Kei Nagase was one of the key figures that had put the TSAB together and had fought in a final conflict against the Belkins that has wanted to revive their kingdom and refused to stop fighting. She and her friends had put a stop to the rise of those warmongers over 100 years ago. It wasn't just her though, the woman who was her sister and his mother had also been apart of this too, magic and everything. (Funny she never had mentioned it to him at all) To this day, the TSAB still had policies in place that his mother had written out but never got the chance to personally put in to effect.

Apparently, roughly a year before the TSAB had been finalized there had been an incident with a Lost Logia, and his mother had rushed in to pacify it and was obiterated. She had been pronounced dead when they couldn't find the body. Kei had continued on in creating the TSAB in her sister's stead. It had been quite a shock for her to find out that her sister had survived, just as much it shocked him that he had an 'alien' aunt. The questions about the time difference and discrepancies in their timeline was chalked up due to the Lost Logia in question, which seemed to teleport people foward through both space and time. (The Lost Logia in question was currently being held sealed in a vault just in case it activates again.) Kei however had been delighted to have family as she never had her own children due to her work and status. (apparently DNA testing coupled with a linker core scan was very accurate in its tests for family relations)

Still, history can wait he thought, his daughter was injured or worse right now. After he checks on her, he going to find them and introduce them to his fist, clenching said hand as the servos in it whirred faintly.

"Danny, I'm sorry we had to meet up so soon over something like this." She stated apologetically.

"Its fine, who attacked Taylor? What happened, she was supposed to be home today?"

Kei grimaced and gestured for Danny to follow, "We are unsure of everything at the moment. Originally we thought one of our agents had gone rogue until further examination of her linker core showed signs that she had been possessed by something."

"Possessed, by what, a ghost?" he asked in disbelief.

"No," she said shaking her head "tracer marks on Enforcer Lanstor's linker core are nearly a match to a Unison Device, so we are thinking that one is responsible, but they don't match the markers of any that we know of, so we are at square one there. We are hoping that once Enforcer Takamichi or Taylor awaken they can tell us more."

Danny didn't exactly like that, having all this pent-up anger that someone had put Taylor in the hospital and no one to take it out on. He nearly jumped as Kei put a hand on his shoulder and gave him a look.

"Don't worry Danny, we'll find out who was stupid enough to attack Taylor," a glint in her eye appearing, "then we'll take care of them. I'll chuck them in the deepest prison I can get away with and leave them there."

Relaxing a bit, Danny nodded, then tensed up again when a doctor approached them.

"Admiral Nagase, Mr. Hebert. Enforcer Takamachi is awake, and Ms. Hebert is stable and will hopefully wake up soon. Her natural healing has already repaired most of the damage to her, and Lady Ix is finishing the rest. She also healed Enforcer Lanster as well, and did…something to her to apparently prevent her from being possessed again by whatever had possessed her originally."

"So, the possession was confirmed then. I'll need to speak with Taylor when Ix is done." Kei spoke to herself with a frown marring her face with whatever she was thinking unknown to Danny.

"Ix is here?" Danny asked looking over at Kei, "was she with Taylor when she was attacked?"

"No," said Kei, shaking her head. "Taylor had already returned her to the Church. She was dropping off some paperwork for the incident she took care of while guarding Ix and was talking with Enforcer Takamachi when they were attacked. Once Ix heard about Taylor however, she rushed to the hospital as fast as she could to heal her and Cipher."

"I see, that's good she wasn't there." He stated in relief. Danny rather liked Ixveria, she was a good kid for someone who was a 2000-year-old king or something. He didn't pretend to fully understand all this magic stuff, despite being able to do it himself. "It's good that Fate is good too… wait, what sort of incident was Taylor involved in? She was only gone for three days."

Kei smiled and chuckled a bit at that, "That part is classified until it is looked over and filed, but what I can say is she is definitely like my sister. Helping people at the drop of a hat with no care to herself or what anyone else says or thinks." She then nodded at Danny, "Go and see Taylor, Danny. I'm going to see what Enforcer Takamachi has to say and then I'll come up to visit Taylor as well." With that said she walk off into what was presumably Fate's room.

The Doctor motioned with his clipboard, "This way sir."

Danny sighed and nodded, following behind the doctor, eager to check on his daughter.

0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

Ixveria, or Ix as called by her friends, was considered to be a kind girl wielding powerful healing magic. And make no mistake, she was, but what most of her friends forgot or simply didn't acknowledge was that she was once the ruthless ruler of one of the most powerful nations to exist in the Dimensional Sea. And right now, her darker, more ruthless thoughts were currently bubbling beneath the surface, all directed at someone who had injured her first friend from over five hundred years ago, as well as the partner that he currently had. The door opening and a warm voice spoke to her, interrupting her dark thoughts like the morning sun chased away the night.

"I know I tend to lose my temper and can be called a hypocrite for saying it, but you need to calm down a bit kiddo," Danny stated, a bit amused. "You ended up scaring the doctor away," he joked as he sat down next to her. "How is Taylor doing?"

Ix didn't even bother to turn to Danny, keeping her eyes on Cypher and Taylor. "She's stable and should wake up soon." She spoke in a soft and controlled voice. "And it's not like I can help it. This is the second time, that I've been around for, that she has attacked Cypher and his partner with intent to kill."

Her words stopped Danny short and caused him to turn to Ix, "You know who attacked Taylor Ix?"

"Yes, I confirmed it for myself when I healed Teana. I will never forget the feel of her mana ever. Teana isn't the only one to ever be possessed by her after all." She told Danny, causing his eyes to open wide. "Luckily, neither myself or Teana can be possessed by her again. It's a flaw with her system that I can exploit due to knowing how her Unison works."

"Who is she Ix? Who attacked Taylor and Cipher?" Danny demanded, keeping his voice low to not disturb Taylor and Cipher.

"The only being to ever challenge the Cipher, Demon King of the Round Table to one on one combat and live." She stated softly while looking at the sleeping Taylor and Cypher. "Cipher's best friend, Solo Wing Pixie."
0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000

And so ends the prologue. As you may have guessed, it includes some Ace Combat fun, mostly due to the original setting already incorperating it into the setting with the Belkins and all. I might write up a piece on the Lost Logia in question later, but yeah that's it for now. Next part will pick up with some backstory as to how Taylor and Danny stumbled onto Cypher.

Also, Ace Combat Zero and 5 are my favorite Ace Combat games. Just saying.

Returning to Zero 1

Earth Bet date: December 28, 2010

Taking things out was far easier then putting them away. This thought filled Taylor's head as she and her dad were lifting the box holding the Christmas tree.

"Ease up a bit on the pushing Taylor, you're going to knock your old man over," her dad grunted out as he shifted the tree in his hands. "Let me the box adjust a bit ok?"

"Sorry Dad, you said to push earlier," Taylor stated apologetically as she lightened her pushing on the tree box. "You know, we could have just hauled the tree up instead of putting it in the box, then hauling it."

"Well, Taylor," her dad grunted as he got a good grip on the box and resumed lifting. "This is a little faster. I'm just glad we got to spend Christmas together properly before I got off vacation and you went to back to school."

"Yay, school," she stated blandly with a grimace. "Just the place I want to go."

"I was like that at your age too kiddo," her dad said with a wry grin. "In a few years you'll graduate, and everything that happened at school won't even matter anymore as you're scrambling to get a job wishing you were back at school where it was easy."

Taylor shook her head at that with a grimace and forced herself to think on something other then school and her bullies before it spoiled her mood. After a rather festive Christmas, well as festive as you can get around the Hebert's house nowadays, Danny had decided on putting it all away early. Before, back when they were a whole family, the tree would have stayed up until the end of January. It hadn't even been out last year; her dad having been too out of it to put it up at all. This year however, she had dragged the tree from the attic herself (no it didn't take all day to put up at all) so they could try to enjoy Christmas. Surprisingly it had worked, though she had to dodge the question of why Emma hadn't come over, and she and her had an enjoyable Christmas day of watching movies, drinking hot chocolate and eating a ham her dad had gotten from work for free. It had felt a bit like how it was before her mom had died. She was shaken from her thoughts by her dad setting down his end of the box and she promptly followed suit kicking up a bit of dust as she did so.

"Huh, might need to clean up a bit up here. Getting kind of dusty," her dad muttered, mostly do himself.

Taylor took a quick look around the attic and decide that 'kind of dusty' was an understatement. Various dust covered knick-knacks littered spare shelfs and there was a large number of old cardboard boxes and old storage chests, the kind that reminded her of pirate treasure, and old clothes on racks. And speaking of chests...

"Ow! Dammit!" she cried out as she tripped backwards from one of the said chests behind her.

"Taylor! Are you alright?!" he exclaimed with worry as he rushed to her side.

"Yeah, I'm fine. Just this stupid damn chest just trying to kill me that's all," she swore in anger, kicking said chest in anger.

"Language. Though I'd do the same if it happened to me, so I'll let it slide this time," her dad chuckled as he turned to the chest that had assaulted her. (It had! Taylor wasn't going to let anyone else tell her otherwise.) "Wait, this is…"

"English. And I've heard far worse at the dockyards you know Dad," she deadpanned. "And you recognize this thing?" she asked while eyeing said chest with annoyance.

"Not the point," he said with an amused look. "And yes, I do. This is your grandmother's, my mother's, trunk of heirlooms that she left to me." A happy, nostalgic look covered his face, "I had completely forgotten about it."

Taylor didn't really know too much about the woman she was named after, only that she had been a teacher like her mom before she retired, and had passed away shortly after her parents had gotten married. She did want to hear more about her though; her dad was just so much more animated while talking about her. Taylor watched as he opened the chest, getting a shock from the chest in the process and a snort of amusement from her. Muttering about static under his breath, he then flipped the chest open and she moved to look over his shoulder into the chest.

"Huh, for a chest of heirlooms this big, I was expecting a bit more then this Dad," she pointed out with disappointment in her voice. She didn't really know what to expect, but two more cases and a book wasn't it.

"Yeah well, she grew up in a simpler time. What you had access too was more limited, and you cherished what little you had, even if it wasn't much." He said while picking up the book and looking at it with a discerning eye. "Looks like a journal, and some suitcases."

Taylor frowned a bit as she picked up the smaller of the two cases. "Hey, don't these seem to be a bit weird?" she pointed out and she fiddled with the lock on it. Looked like you just put your thumbs on it and pushed outward to unlock it.

"What do you mean Taylor?" her dad asked as he started to open the journal.

"Like this case seems to be in too good a condition for being as old as its supposed to be." She said with a frown as she tried to force the lock open.

"Like I said Taylor, simpler time. Quality over quantity. It's the reason why older vehicles and such last longer, because they were made to last." He said as fiddled with the lock on the book. "Like these locks, could never open these even as a kid."

"Yeah, this one is a pain too. Won't even budge a bit," she let out a small growl of annoyance. "Come on, I'm pushing the buttons! Open!"

"Hey Taylor, be gentle with that. It's old, not…"

With that last grunt of effort, ignoring her dad's words, Taylor focused on the locks and pushed. Suddenly, feeling something warm rush through her chest and down her arms, the locks open with an electronic beep, startling Taylor and causing her to drop it.

"What the heck? I didn't know it was electronic," she said, staring at her hands in confusion. That warm feeling running through her wasn't going away, only spreading.

"It shouldn't be," her dad said with a frown. "She had that when I was a kid." Her dad said as he reached over and flipped the lid open, and adopted a confused look on his face, one that Taylor soon shared as they both looked at the object in the case.

The object in question was what appeared to be a small, metal black medallion with smaller diamond of red in the center and white trim. Sitting on top of the red was a triangular green gemstone pointing downwards in the center.

Her dad reached out and picked it up with a frown on his face. "I think I've seen this before, back when I was a kid."

"Really? It was locked up pretty tight for some jewelry," Taylor said as she reached for the other box in the chest. That one was a bigger case, more like the ones you would carry clothes in on vacation. "Huh, this one has no way to open it Dad. No openings on the box at all. Is it just a light hunk of metal or something?"

"Wait, I definitely remember that one. You should be careful with that Taylor, my mom went nuts when she found me trying to open it when I was a kid," her dad said still frowning as he looked at said rectangle.

"Good advice sir. Young lady is messing with a very dangerous object," a voice stated plainly.

The new voice caused both Heberts to freeze momentarily, before looking around for the voice.

"Wait, who said that? No one else is in the house, right?"

"Down, here sir. In your hand," the voice rang out again.

"What the? Is Grandma Taylor's jewelry talking Dad?" she exclaimed in shock.

"I um, I believe so Taylor?" her dad answered cautiously as he stared at the jewel in his hand. "Err, hello?"

A rich metallic baritone voice sound out from the medallion. "Greetings sir. It is a pleasure to seen you once again."

"Again? You've met me before?" Her dad questioned with a confused look.

"Indeed, you used to play with me when you were much smaller, especially when Lady held you," The medal replied with an amused tone. (Could a medal be amused, Taylor thought?)

"So, wait, was Grandma a Tinker of some sort?" Taylor asked her dad suddenly.

"Tinker? Is that what you call mages on this planet Young Lady?" The medal (she needed something to call it by) asked her.

"Mages?"
"Planet?"

"Indeed. It appears we seem to be under some sort of misunderstanding, so let us compare what we know so we can do away with any confusion," it(he?) stated.

"Uh, right, never thought I would be explaining Parahumans to talking tinkertech," Taylor stated while her dad looked at her with amusement. "Anyways, a Tinker is a sort of sub-set of a group of humans called Parahumans. They all get powers somehow, and then they use them, I guess? Like Blasters shoot fireballs and such and Brutes are super strong. Tinkers are those that build impossible machines that can't really be reproduced by regular means. Um, tinkertech like you," she finished lamely.

"I see. How exactly does one acquire such power then?" it inquired.

"Err, I actually have no idea. Most I've found online is that you get them on a really bad day or something," she embarrassingly explained.

"I can tell you a bit more, uh do you have a name or something?" her dad asked.

"Ah, my apologies. My name is Cero. Lady gave me that name back when she received me as a child," the now named Cero replied.

"Received you as a child?" Taylor asked.

"Young Lady, we should conclude the exchange of information first before asking questions. Now Sir, you had more information?" Cero asked her dad.

"Um, yeah. Sorry just a bit off kilter. Anyways, parahumans experience what's called a Trigger Event," her dad explained. Taylor herself shifted a bit more to listen to her dad's explanation. "The best way I can describe it is the worst day of your life, soul crushing and breaking. At least that's the way I heard it from a parahuman I knew back in college."

"I see. Is there any way to physically tell that a person is a parahuman?" Cero asked her dad curiously.

"Oh! I know that one," she answered quickly getting an amused look from her dad. "Parahumans have these organs in their heads called the Corona Pollentia and Gemma. And, uh that's how you know they have powers."

"And this is a natural evolution? A mutation? How do they power these abilities of theirs?" Cero questioned, causing Taylor to blink in confusion.

"Well um, no one actually knows how they came to be or what really powers them. They just kinda, exist," she stated uncertainly.

"How annoying. The lack of information is disturbing," Cero said distracted by the information, obviously directed more to itself.

"Well, how do these 'mages' get their powers then?" She asked a bit hotly. Obviously, it was a confused piece of advanced tinkertech.

"Ah, that is quite easy to explain," Cero said, returning to a happier tone. "A mage is a human being that who was born with an organ called a Linker Core, which is located within the chest cavity, and can wield the energy source called mana, when combined with a spell, to produce magic, thereby altering local reality or producing effects to enforce a change upon the world," it explained. "A mage's Linker Core can be inherited from their parents, or not at all from said parents despite both parents having one. Humans can also be born having Linker Cores and neither parent, or grandparent, or great grandparent, as was the case with my Lady and her sister." Cero paused for a second then continued. "As for what I am, I am an Intelligent Device. An advanced mana manipulation device capable of independent thought, designed to assist a mage in supporting them in both spellcasting and mana control, as well as a companion who they can confide in. The latter part was what Lady used to do at any rate."

Taylor had to blink a bit at the information. Compared to how they explained parahumans, this was a fair bit more complete then that. And what it had said earlier about this Linker Core being located in the chest.

"Um, what exactly does it feel like to use mana?" Taylor asked suddenly, causing her dad to turn to her and Cero's gem to blink.

The gem in the center of Cero glittered rapidly before an answer came. "I do not know myself, as I do not feel like a human does, Young Lady. However, many reports claim it to be a warm feeling from their chests. But you already know this Young Lady, as your Linker Core is fully active," Cero said to her, causing her dad to turn to her.

"Wait, what?" He asked confusedly.

Cero let out a slight humming sound. "Due to your unfamiliarity with magic, and the nature of your question, I can safely assume that you have recently had an experience with said feeling."

Taylor nodded slowly. "Yeah, when I was opening the box that had you in it, I had this warm feeling in my chest that shot down my arms and made them feel fuzzy."

"I see," Cero said with a curious tone. "One moment." The gem in the center of Cero blink for a second, before Cero answered her back in a confused tone. "The security spell on the box was set only to be opened for Lady's magical signature, not to anyone with magical powers." A rapid blink ran across the gemstone. "However, the locking spell was still unlocked and the electronic lock security was bypassed somehow by Young Lady."

"So, I somehow just opened it?"

"Yes. There is an explanation, but I do not have all the relevant information yet. Examination of Young Lady's Linker Core may yield more information for the truth to be unveiled," it said with a slight amount of enthusiasm in its electronic baritone voice.

"Right, well, before we do all that, we should put this stuff away and eat. Then uh, Cero here can examine you I guess," said her dad as he took control of the conversation.

"Of course, Sir. Once you have eaten, I shall finish examining your core and examine the Young Lady."

Her dad looked a little startled at that. "Wait, I have a Linker Core too? And you've been examining it?"

"Yes Sir. I did so to confirm your ID and to see if you inherited Lady's Rare Skill. Which you have."

Her dad cocked his head to the side in confusion. "Rare Skills? I can hear the capitalization in that. What does that mean exactly?"

"A Rare Skill is just that. A Rare Skill," it replied with amusement. "A better explanation is that it is an ability that is natural to the user that is extremely difficult or highly improbable to reproduce. I suspect Young Lady has a Rare Skill that allowed her to bypass the security on the spell when she used her mana for the first time. I suspect it may have to do with opening or some such, but I cannot be certain without more info. It has been a while since I've seen such a Rare Skill, but they do exist."

Taylor was partially listening, to the conversation about having picked up the, forgotten about until then, apparently dangerous object. She felt a little tingle, and stopped to focus on what she would later come realize was her Rare Skill signifying that it could be used. This was a mistake she would later curse, and love as she undid the seal on the object, causing a shockwave to pulse out knocking both her and her dad off their feet and causing him to drop Cero.

"Ow! What the hell?" Taylor groaned out from her position on the ground, cradling her left elbow that she had smacked against the chest to the left of her spot.

"Sir! Quickly! We must reseal the Lost Logia before it is too late!" Cero cried out to her dad in panic.

"Reseal it?! How?!" Her dad shouted dazedly from where he laid a few feet from her.

Cero's response was lost on her, as the now identified Lost Logia slammed into her chest and began to painfully pull something from her, which she would later learn was her mana, and glow brightly. A silver colored field spread across the room and with a sound like a pillow hitting another pillow, darkness engulfed Taylor's vision.

AN: Finished! \o/ Hopefully caught all my errors, and you get to see how Taylor and Danny left the hellhole that is Bet. I hope people enjoy Cero, as he is going to be Danny's device. He's a little more intellegint then most Devices, due to Danny's mother upgrading him a lot. And as for the the sudden escalation at the end there, that's kinda how real life goes sometimes. You cross the street expecting to just cross it, and then Truck-kun comes out of nowhere to send you off to another world. But jokes aside, real life problems can happen in a flash and that's kinda what I wanted to get across at the end. Next chapter is going to either be the second part of this or Teana waking up and talk about Pixy and Cipher's history.

Lost Logia LL1-01
Case #LL1-01 "Spatial Eraser"
Original Case Date: Year -1 of TSAB Standard Calendar
Update on Case Date: 12/15/0079 of TSAB Standard Calendar
Status: Potentially neutralized; Neutralized

Original Case Notes: Outdated and Renewed
Reporting Lead Officer(s): Former Maritime Ocea Air Division Captain Kei Nagase, Former Maritime Ocea Air Division Captain Marcus Snow, Head Librarian of the Infinite Library (Ancient Magic Specialist) Dr. Taylor Nagase *click for full list*

LL1-01, Spatial Eraser, was a Lost Logia (see Ancient Magical Technology) capable of destroying all space within a range as low as 3 meters and up to 500 meters wide in the shape of a sphere. This Lost Logia was involved in the destruction of the small island dotted planet Sand Isle, of which no life was lost due to having closed all air and sea bases on said planet, rendering it unstable by merit of ripping chucks out of its core and causing natural gravity to fail and the planet to fall apart. (for full case notes see File PL#21: Sand Isle incident) As this Lost Logia was so destructive, Captains Kei Nagase and Marcus Snow of the former Ocea Federation Maritime Air Force remnants, were dispatched alongside the new Head Librarian of the Infinite Library Dr. Taylor Nagase and twenty others to either subdue or destroy the Lost Logia in question as it appeared on an uninhabited planet. Due to its ability to teleport and its ability to absorb magical energy from the environment, people and attack, the first attempts at capturing or destroying the Lost Logia in question were exercises in failure, with the lost of an estimated 20,000 acres of forest and 12 personals. It was eventually trapped due the quick thinking of Dr. Nagase, who use her own self as bait, and her device Cero to stimulate a natural wellspring of magical energy to draw in and trap the Lost Logia. Initial sealing procedures were proceeding as plan until the mana spring that Dr. Nagase used suddenly stopped flowing correctly, due to over drain, causing the Lost Logia to launch itself at one of the remaining expedition members. Dr. Nagase quickly intervened, wrestling with the Logia for roughly 30 seconds before managing to stab it in its core with her weapon. It was this action that cause the Lost Logia to react in a previously unobserved way and (presumably) self-destructed, as the device was always present after each previous display of its power, causing the death of Dr. Nagase. The Lost Logia in question is presumed destroyed, but our forces will remain vigilant in case it resurfaces.

Notes: Thank you sis for everything. We'll make this new government work out, so please watch over us. Goddamn you sis, you made me worry for nothing. I'm glad you had a peaceful happy life.

Updated Notes:
As it turns out, LL1-01 wasn't actually destroyed and is actually a teleporting device of some kind. Notes taken from the Intelligent Device Cero reveals that the device in question actually moves whatever is in its projected field into a different spatial and dimensional coordinate. Furthermore, due to discrepancies in the dates of the time measured by Cero, the Lost Logia in question also seems to displace them in time as well, shooting them forward and potentially back a number of years, as Cero's dates are conflicting with passing of the TSAB's time. The Unison Device Cipher(see Taylor Hebert), who was able to interact with the Lost Logia through currently unknown means, was able to shut down LL1-01 permanently shortly after the second sealing of it by Cero's current partner, Daniel Hebert (see case file on Frozen Woman: Ongoing and Huckebein: Closed) failed. Cipher's current partner Taylor Hebert (see case files Alharzadian Guardian Golems: Ongoing, Frozen Woman: Ongoing, and Huckebein: Closed) resealed the now powerless Lost Logia in what she referred to as a level 10 seal, and is currently considered unbreakable by current magical analysis. The Lost Logia has been reclassified as neutralized and sealed in the TSAB secure vaults.

Updated Notes 2: Further comments by Cipher suggest that LL1-01 was actually a broken teleport assist device for those who could not use Dimension Transference on their own and the temporal part of the teleport was to allow for seemingly instant travel across vast distances. He made the comment after Ms. Hebert had mentioned her temporary blindness as a result of LL1-01 rendering her blind through its activation, much like it had ruined Dr Nagase's Linker Core according to Cero. According to him, the device must have, in his own words, 'sped up the time of Ms. Hebert's eyes to the point in her personal timeline that they ceased to function at all'. A similar effect must have been applied to Dr. Nagase, leading to loss of magic and shortened lifespan.
