This world is broken.

New magic and technologies that could be used to serve all people has been bent only to serve those who are already our masters.

Kings, industrialist, aristocrats and old gods. It doesn't matter the form it takes, power encircles the greater potential of all people and drags all toward inevitable destruction.

Workers dying in the factories, children starving on the streets, innocents the world over struck down for war and profit. Desperates trade over shards of their souls for crusts of bread while aristocrats grow bored inside gilded towers.

This world, this empire of greed and horror, it is afflicted with what can only be called madness, a moral insanity.

Something must be done. Since no-one else seems to stepping up, it'll have to be you. You are going to end this nightmare. You're going to take this broken, poisoned, insane world and reshape it into one worth living in. Brick by brick, if necessary

The only question is where to start.

[ ] Warlord| In this putrid capital, where teeth and flowers grow beneath the cobblestones and pawn shops accept names and fingers as collateral, a great underworld festers. Gangs vie for territory like crabs in a bucket, paying no attention to the hand that placed them there. You will forge this chaos into something new, an army strong enough to wrest the halls of power from the cold fingers of our jailers. [Specialization: Martial]

[ ] Pontifex|
The sad truth is that you aren't the only one who's wanted to change the world. There are many factions who seek a better future, but they remain splintered and disparate, quibbling over minor details. It will take every ounce of silver on your tongue and ever swindle in the book, but you will get these bickering fools to work together even if you have to hold them at knife point. [Specialization: Diplomacy]

[ ] Thief-Lord|
If there's one thing this city's criminals need, it's proper organization. You will build an under-empire of burglars, charlatans, kidnappers and assassins, performing crime under your careful direction, for a small fee of course. [Specialization: Stewardship]

[ ] Spymaster|
You shall be a spider sitting in the center of a web of information, espionage, and blackmail. You will engulf the empire gently, quietly, like a nursemaid singing a child to sleep. [Specialization: Intrigue]

[ ] Trismegistus|
This new age has been defined by machines of brilliant design and monstrous implementation. Steam engines, autokratts, devil-boxes, a never-ending tide of mechanisms that bind the forces of this and the other world. Each one has changed the rules of commerce, war, and rulership, but not enough to truly remove kings and aristocrats from power. To truly change the world, you must build a device that defies all other sources of power, the first and last Great Work. [Specialization: Learning(Alchemy)]

[ ] Witch-King|
The Glass Throne remains empty, no pretender daring to even sit upon it. The Shadow-King is dead, or imprisoned, or plotting in secret in some distant dreamland. A mortal who plotted and bargained and betrayed his way into power over the fattest empire known to history, to who even the Courts payed deference. You will gladly follow in his footsteps, even his ruin, if it means shattering the evils he left behind. [Specialization: Learning(Magic)]
