Security Question: What I did before I was a pilot.: FFT Operator
You punched in your credentials to log in, and after a moment of loading, you heard the familiar whirring of your reactor as the lights went from emergency red to starship white. Your control panel came into view, and with jittery fingers from the Juice your mech gave you, you slapped the Dismount button and felt the pressure around you shift as the airtight seal of the cockpit came undone. The light outside was absolutely blinding, but after a decade in stasis, you needed to stretch your legs. You pressed your hardsuit helmet's polarized filter switch, and your vision was instantly softened as the starlight became less blinding and the world came into view. You pulled yourself from the seat, feeling wobbly, waiting for the nausea to hit that had become so familiar to you as a Far Field Team operator, and slowly slid onto the ground. It felt close to one G. Maybe a little less. You stepped back and looked forward, leaning against your bone-white mech for support.
You were on an elevated area. A plateau overlooking a vast green forest that went as far as the eye could see. It was like the purple nitrogen ocean of your homeworld. You'd never seen this much green in person before. Oops, yeah, here comes the nausea. You scrambled for your wrist-mounted datapad, which helpfully informed you of the breathable oxygen composition, prompting you to paw for the locks on your helmet, twist and pull it off, and release your ten-year-old last meal of nutrient-enriched cereal and coffee-flavored caffeine powder mix onto the hardpack beneath you. Once you spent about a minute bent over until the stomach cramping subsided, you realized that oh, wait, you were supposed to be waking up on the Gia and getting a briefing about resolving the planetary war on Castillo. Panic set in once again as you made the realization you'd been ejected with no prior warning. Onto a planetary surface.
You scanned your comm logs on your datapad to check for orders and found none. You controlled your breathing, wiped your mouth, pulled the straw of your camelback water pouch up to your lips, and washed your mouth out with laboratory-quality purified water as you scanned your environment. You'd landed between two peaks, onto a flat patch of hardpack dirt high above the rolling, hilly temperate rainforest below. it was hot and humid, and the sun felt harsh on your skin. You put your helmet back on and looked up to the sky, staring through the polarized lenses and hazy atmosphere at the twin suns in the sky, a tiny red dot and a bright white ball. Passing right underneath of the solar duo was a chisel-shaped black obelisk, broken in half and trailing fire, silently tumbling towards the planetary surface. You slapped your hands against your helmet as you watched it fall, running towards the edge of the cliff and watching the ship you'd come here on float past the horizon somewhere out of reach of you. Alright. This isn't a time to panic.
You turned back around to your Everest in its squatted landing position and looked at the survival pack attached to its back. It had the raw materials to print a mission outfit on the fly for you from its integrated printer. First thing was first, print yourself and your mech an outfit to get you somewhere you could radio command. If anyone else survived the drop, you'd be able to message them that way too.
This section is probably going to require a more in-depth knowledge of Lancer since you're outfitting a stock mech here. Additionally, you should probably choose your talents too. I've got all the data from the expansions, so go as close or far from core as you want.
