Besides, if we start losing people we can just call it quits and wait for next turn.
EDIT: And besides, 4 out 11? floors in one go is not bad.

Good news everyone. We are heading towards the end of this turn with only the mini-turns, building purchases, Corellia event, whatever evil surprise Snark has for us and the end of year news report to get through.

Also for story wise things, I found a post-Papalatine threat to replace the Yuuzhan Vong as the Far Outsiders. The bad news... well they might be more terrifying. Tell me does anyone remember the Killiks?

I remember them, yes. Not super-well, but I do. The Joinable Hivemind, if I recall correctly.

Aren't the Killiks the human-tall sapient bugs with a hive-mind who can join other beings to the hive-mind, somewhat mind-controlling them? Beside, there are threats just waiting for us that aren't related to Palpatine, the Ssi-ruuk for example. What if someone with ill intentions find the Katana fleet? Anti-Jedi movements can still appear and cause trouble, like they did with the New Republic. Wasn't one of the New Republic's issues a lack of Jedi? If too many die, well things can go bad. Hell, a Jedi-Republic victory with the way things are reminds me of the period between the two KOTOR games, with both being greatly hurt. Except, this time, the Jedi are once again sure they have killed the Sith, minus maybe Dooku. And Anakin left the Order immediately after the war, or manage to pull something to be exiled, just like Meetra Surik. Would be hilarious if he got himself expelled by following advice from Meetra Surik's holocron (even if there wasn't one in canon), all the while knowing that exile of the Order (not the Republic) is his end goal. Maybe after he used the "Destroy Droid" Force power. It's not his fault it looks so much like Force Lightning.

Okay, brief history lesson. They're the native species of what is now known as Alderaan, a incest hive mind species that can bring other sentients into their hive mind as 'Joiners' who loose all their individuality and become complete loyal to the Hive, but keep their memories and skills.

They are supposed to have had a hand in building some of the ancient macguffins (as slave labours understand direction from the Celestials, such as the Son and Daughter pre-dunking heads in power sources) such as Centerpoint Station. They left Alderaan sometime before the human colonists arrived (with a few left in hibernation) and migrated into the unknown regions and deep space.

They emerged in the 30s ABY, after joining a Dark Jedi to their collective, who set up the Dark Nest, a secret society as weird as that sounds for a Hive Mind, which lead to the Dark Nest Crisis and the Swarm War, a brief but destructive conflict.

My idea is to re-imagine the Far Outsiders as even more Killiks returning from Deep Space. With the goal of migrating back to their original homeworld. Combined with a desire to bring 'peace through unity' by forcing other species into their collective.

I'm just trying to find something to fill the gap of the YV because Snark says he won't write them because he hates them as a concept.

More specifically Teron hated them, I'm just of the mind that if I have to use them it means I'm out of good ideas. Which, uh, is probably just as much of a damnation, honestly...

Also Foundry raid's over and boy was it a thing. Formal update on it soon-ish.

Yep, we did good on the rolls and managed to clear a bunch of floors. Fun rolling session, though we need to improve troop quality or just resign ourselves to clearing 1 or 2 floors at a time (if the DC decrease happens after each raid)

That was fun, guys.

Shout outs:
  • to Spear Spear, the one Kaleesh who got a natural one.
  • To Ripath the Matukai Medic who carried his squad when they got a natural 1.
  • To the Spider Droid menace.
  • To HK-47 failing 1/3 of the time. His weapons were slippery apparently.
  • To monotonously chanting droids.
  • To the dead tired Agents.
  • And to the hundreds of destroyed droids.
Have a good night people!!

After you left the room I had a suggestion for the AAR:
Publicola: I'm kind of hoping when you write the AAR, that you include one snippet of the best/worst rolls from each floor and who was responsible for it
...
Publicola: Like, everyone looking at HK-47 when he completely fumbles and drops his gun

Or the Kaleesh who crit-failed on the first floor:
Snark: The Nat 1 Warrior is the runt of the Kaleesh.
Snark: He's just kind of there.
...
Masky: "Spiffy, the midget kaleesh"
Lalzparty: That poor runt
...
Publicola: he's the guy who says "pew pew' while shooting

Thanks for a well-run session; I'm looking forward to the update!

As I said, next Foundry raid we bring ion weaponry (for a bonus against droids), heavy weaponry (if they don't come ion-flavoured), EMP grenades in amounts enough to frighten HK-47 (we may need to do some repairs afterward, but it will be so worth it), personal shields (we will need them) and Droidekas (shielded against ballistic and energy weapons, powerful firepower, if only Cheriss got to them before).

It depends on the equipment upgrades we will be having.
If it's significant, we may be able to go for 4-5 floors at once

well the lower floors are going to have additional twists beyond just increasing DC so we will have to see how that works.

Of course this does make taking the base upgrades that put out droids that can be used on the raids attractive, I do wonder if we could mass produce B-2s and just send 30 in as at that point we don't care about casualties.
