Interlude - Ain't No Party Like A Ciaran Party
Coruscant, Celebration Hall

The news that the esteemed humanitarian Lady Ciaran would be hosting a diplomatic gathering with high-ranking (and wealthy) representatives from the Republic and CNS sent ripples through Coruscant's upper classes, and soon everyone who was anyone found a way to get invited to the party.

Unfortunately for Ciaran, that meant that she had to put up with a nigh-on endless stream of "well-wishers" and "fellow philanthropists" who did nothing but brown-nose around her. She never did like sycophants such as them, but she had to keep up appearances when she was socializing.

Still, she managed to duck into an unoccupied side room without anyone noticing her so she got a chance to breathe...and hear from the teams infiltrating Ziro's compound on the planet.

"Report," she whispered into a comlink camouflaged by an expensive-looking necklace.

"Infiltration team Alpha has entered the compound. No signs of detection so far, moving to locate databanks before we capture Ziro," replied a voice from the other end.

"Excellent. Try not to contact me unless there's an emergency."

"Understood, boss."

Deactivating her comlink, she turned back to the door to see PR-1 moving towards her. "Lady Ciaran, Raith Sienar has just entered the building. If you would be willing to wait here this would be an excellent location for the meeting."

Ciaran nodded. "Of course. Bring him here right away."

"Understood, Lady Ciaran."

As PR-1 left, Ciaran sent down and went over what she knew about Raith in her mind. The man by all accounts was a skilled engineer in his own right, and according to official records he was in charge of the Design Systems branch before ascending to control the entire company. Said branch's products were geared towards highly customized ships for particularly wealthy customers.

Meaning that she was essentially his preferred customer...

A beep from the comlink interrupted her thoughts. "Yes?"

"Boss, we've managed to slice into some of Ziro's files. Looks like the Hutt has a lot of dirt on the Hutts on a datapad in one of his safes. What should we do with it when we find it?"

Ciaran briefly closed her eyes in thought for a moment before opening again. "Get a copy of the pad's contents, then we'll hand it over to Jabba afterwards. Anything else?"

"No ma'am."

Ciaran glanced towards the door as she heard PR-1's distinct voice. "Right then. Report to Gulan until I say otherwise; I will be busy with other matters." Not bothering for a response, she closed the comlink and faced the door as Raith Sienar walked in, flanked by PR-1. "Raith Sienar, I presume? A pleasure to finally meet you in person," Ciaran said as she shook Raith's hand, who gave the traditional "look polite" smile in response. "And you as well, Lady Ciaran. Shall we?" he said, gesturing to a table with seats on either side.

"Of course," Ciaran said, turning to PR-1 who handed her a holoprojector before she sat down opposite to Raith who briefly regarded it with curiosity.

"Is there anything either of you would require?" the droid asked.

"No thank you." "I will be fine."

"Of course," it replied, leaving the room and closing the door behind it. With that Raith turned to face Ciaran. "First of all, I would like to profusely apologize for my employee's treatment of your people, rest assured that the offender has been reprimanded for his actions."

"While I appreciate the gesture I understand that your...representative most assuredly did not reflect your company and yourself in a proper manner. But enough about that unpleasantness," Ciaran said as she leaned forward. "I would much rather talk about business."

Raith did not say anything, but nodded in affirmation as he awaited Ciaran's pitch.

She began to idly drum her fingers on the table. "You are aware of my humanitarian and corporate efforts, yes?"

"Of course, there are very few in the galaxy who haven't at least heard of you, though I would admit that the Karada Corporation is not as popular yet."

The man has done his research. Good, Ciaran thought to herself.

"Naturally. However, what may not be obvious at first glance is that I have branched out into many different fields. And my work in those areas has required different approaches-"

As she spoke, she placed the holoprojector she held at the center of the table and activated it. The projector displayed an image of the Scimitar, causing Raith's eyes to widen.

"-and different assets such as this. It is truly a remarkable vessel and has proven to be considerably helpful for me in my endeavors. A fine piece of Sienar engineering."

To Raith's credit, he managed not to betray any real emotion as he faced Ciaran again. "Might I ask where you acquired that vessel?"

Ciaran smiled. "You might."

Raith nodded, understanding the veiled meaning. Clever too. Very interesting...

"At any rate, my organization has been expanding dramatically in recent years, and with that expansion comes a need for new materiel, more supplies, and ships to move said assets around the galaxy. And while I can certainly use conventional ships for my ends..." Ciaran explained, gesturing to the Scimitar projection as she did so, "There are certain advantages to having more refined vessels such as this."

Raith's expression didn't change, but Ciaran could tell that the man's eyes were beginning to light up as he leaned forward slightly. "Of course. And you would naturally like to ensure that your organization would continue to be supported as it expands and new needs within it arise."

Well now, I think I'm beginning to like him. He can read between the lines so very well...

Ciaran nodded and smiled. "Which is why I would like to offer a partnership. My organization would certainly be willing and able to pay for any of your customized vessels, and we have certain abilities to potentially assist your own business in other ways. I firmly believe there is considerable mutual profit that could be gained at this juncture."

Raith leaned forward and clasped his hands, glancing between Ciaran and the projection of the Scimitar. "Officially speaking, I will have to take some time to consider the nature of your request." He looked directly at Ciaran, his gaze intense. "Privately, I can assure you that said request will go through."

Ciaran smiled, then offered her hand to Raith. "To a mutually beneficial arrangement."

Raith clasped her hand then shook it. "But of course."

------

As Raith discreetly left, Ciaran checked back in on the infiltration. "Report."

"Pretty much wrapped up here boss. You sure you don't want Ziro dead instead of captured?"

"No. I have other plans for him that will require him to stay alive-if only for a few more days."

"Got it, boss."

With that conversation over, Ciaran settled back into her "kindly philanthropist" persona and exited the room herself, mingling with the crowd once again. As she began to move through the party, she noticed Satine talking with her "close friend" Obi-Wan.

Well, I suppose I have at least some time to entertain myself~

Smirking she walked over to the couple who were oblivious to her presence until-

"Hello there, you two. Enjoying yourselves?"

Satine shot a glare at Ciaran though it was much less intense than the first time the three of them had spoken together on Mandalore. As for Obi-Wan, he was clearly resisting the urge to facepalm, though he managed to succeed in that endeavor.

"We are doing just fine," Satine said neutrally. "I was merely discussing recent events with Obi-Wan."

"In fact, we were talking about the new Guardian Corps that have been forming on Mandalore," Obi-Wan commented. "They've been the subject of a lot of debates in the Order lately."

Ciaran quickly glanced between the two of them, though neither of them seemed particularly angry or worried about the topic. "I can imagine; though hasn't their declaration that they are meant to be defenders first alleviated some worries?"

"They have, the debate's been more along the lines of whether or not there should be any official response from the Order since the Mandalorians and Jedi have been such bitter rivals in the past," Obi-Wan explained.

"In fact, I plan on speaking with the Order soon on the matter," Satine commented. "I would at least like to reassure them that these new warriors are nothing like the crusaders of old."

"Of course," Ciaran said, noticing Anakin and Padme walking together nearby. "Well, I'll let you two enjoy yourselves. Oh, Obi-Wan, you should introduce Siri to Satine sometime, I'm sure they'll get along splendidly."

As Ciaran quickly left to the sound of Satine confusedly asking Obi-Wan who exactly this "Siri" person was, she crossed the room over to the other people she actually wanted to meet while she was here. While Anakin didn't see Ciaran coming closer at first, Padme did and became clearly nervous when she noticed. Anakin was about to ask what was wrong before-

"Padme!~"

Before she could properly react, Ciaran was already up in her face. "It's been too long, how are you doing my dear? Meet any new people? Go on any wild parties?"

Fortunately for Padme she'd gotten at least partly used to Ciaran being...well Ciaran. "Fine, yes but no one you'd know, and no, I've been too busy."

"Well we should fix that last one as soon as possible my dear, you can never go wrong with a wild party, or two, or several~"

As for Anakin, the Jedi could only look on in confusion as he tried to keep up with the banter between the two before giving up and loudly clearing his throat, getting both of their attention. "Oh of course, it's nice to see you too even if it has been less time since we last saw each other," Ciaran said, causing Padme to look confused. "When was that?" she asked.

"I was on Mandalore during the recent Death Watch uprising, and she was there as well," Anakin explained, looking briefly uncomfortable before settling back into a more neutral expression, though the shift was not lost on Ciaran who quickly glanced in his direction and smiled before turning back to Padme. "That we were, and we had a lovely time while we were alone together," said Ciaran prompting both Padme and Anakin to roll their eyes in almost perfect sync. "Speaking of which, do you mind if I speak with him alone for just a moment?" Ciaran asked of Padme.

Padme folded her arms and raised an eyebrow.

"I promise it won't involve dragging him to a bar or anything like that."

Padme still said nothing.

"And it won't involve any strippers like that one time."

Anakin started to look between the two rapidly as both his and Padme's faces started to turn bright red. "F-fine!" she manged to get out, before she briskly walked away, though before she did Ciaran stopped her and whispered something to her before dragging Anakin away.

"There will be a change on this planet soon, and it may benefit you if you choose to take advantage of it."

For his part, Anakin was repeating various mantras in his head to try and clear his mind before he noticed Ciaran dragging him along. "Where-"

"Shh. I meant it when I said we need to be alone."

Quickly maneuvering through the crowds any trying not to draw attention to the two of them, Ciaran dragged a visibly confused Anakin into a nearby room. "What exactly-"

Ciaran whirled on him. "What I wanted to talk to you about was sending a message to the Council that I can't do through official channels."

That got Anakin's attention as he froze up before staring down Ciaran. "And that would be...?"

"Simple. About two days ago I received word from one Jabba the Hutt about his son being kidnapped."

Anakin looked confused and slightly angry, though interested in where she was going with this.

"He did this because the evidence at the scene initially pointed to the Jedi being the perpetrators." Ciaran explained, causing Anakin to reel back in shock.

"Are-you're serious!? The Jedi would never-"

"Jabba doesn't believe in ideologies, he believes in facts and power. And the facts at the time pointed to the Jedi kidnapping his son which would have gave them power over him if it were true. As such I was forced to intervene lest he be forced to publicly accuse the Jedi of the act and massively scar their credibility."

At that, Anakin was visibly downcast, processing what Ciaran had said. "But you figured out the truth and got his son back, meaning that..."

Ciaran nodded. "As you might guess, the plot did in fact involve the CIS. So yes, were it not for me the situation would have escalated considerably and served to benefit your enemies." She looked straight at Anakin, who still didn't make eye contact with her. "I understand that words alone are not enough for the Council, so I will be sure to provide you with the data that will prove my testimony later tonight."

Anakin looked back up at her again with an intensity in his eyes. "And you want me to tell them...?"

"That I am not their enemy. My methods may seem dangerous, my allies untrustworthy, but I do not want to see the Republic or the Jedi fall," Ciaran said with intensity. "Hopefully this will prove to be the wake up call they need again."

"Why me then?" Anakin asked, folding his arms. "Obi-Wan is here with me and he's far more popular with the Council, wouldn't he be a better messenger?"

At that Ciaran sighed and shook her head sadly. "While I do respect Obi-Wan he's definitely a more orthodox Jedi," and Anakin mentally admitted that she was right about that point, "and I suspect that he would likely not be as willing as you are to hear what I have to say."

When she said that, Anakin started to look to the side, avoiding her gaze.

"You're still trying to figure out what being a Jedi means to you right?" Ciaran quietly asked.

The room went silent for a long moment, and while it was clear Anakin was feeling conflicted again he didn't seem to be able to find the words to speak.

"...Perhaps you would be willing to a story I know of a-" Ciaran hesitated, but only for an instant and which was not noticed by Anakin, "-man who called himself Darth Vectivus."

All of a sudden, the lighting in the room seemed to dim and the air felt colder, and to Ciaran's worry she wasn't entirely sure why for once. All the while Anakin started to focus on her with rapt intensity...

"He was a wise man, gifted not only in the Force but with an intelligent mind. When he first discovered the Force he was but a humble businessman, curious about the new powers he had awakened within himself."

As she continued to explain her "story," Ciaran started to become nervous as she was now able to feel that Anakin was starting to unconsciously affect the room through his Force power, as though it were pressure starting to build up around her...

"So he traveled the galaxy, seeking to learn more about the Force. And through his studies he became powerful, strong enough that he was considered a master of the Force. Though in spite of the power that he could have fought with...he walked away from the great conflict between the Jedi and the Sith and chose to return to his humble life as a businessman. He..."

Ciaran composed herself as the pressure from Anakin slowly continued to intensify. "He was wise enough to realize that his path was not predetermined, that he could choose his own destiny no matter what others may have believed of him."

Anakin was still silent, though the pressure from him continued to intensify before it suddenly cut off as he closed his eyes. "I see," he said neutrally, seemingly unaware of the power he had just exerted. With that, he simply tuned and with a "thank you for your time, Lady Ciaran," he left in contemplation as Ciaran waited until the door had shut (though she distinctly heard the voice of Obi-Wan speaking to Anakin about something she couldn't quite overhear before it did), then collapsed into a chair to catch her breath.

She had known that Anakin looked as though he was a flashbang through her Force vision, but she had never felt anything like the wave of sheer power that he had exuded just now, unconsciously at that. Not from any of the Jedi Masters she had been around, not from Dooku, not from anyone...

Ciaran breathed in deeply, calming herself through her Force training techniques before slowly getting up, reasserting herself, and moving to rejoin the party as though she had never left.

-------

One Hour After Party's End

"Uncle Borvo, it's Ciaran."

"OHOHOHOHOHOHO, sorry my dear, I wasn't expecting you to keep using that nickname. What did you wish to talk about?"

"How would you like to share the credit for turning over one Ziro the Hutt as well as incriminating information he held on the Hutts over to Jabba himself? In person, no less?"

"...You continue to astound me my dear. But that does sound like a wonderful proposition..."

One Day Later, Jabba's Palace, Tatooine

"...And as you can see, with the aid of Borvo I have not only brought you Ziro to do with as you please but I have eliminated the ability for him to retaliate against you in life or death," explained Ciaran as she and Borvo respectfully bowed to Jabba, ignoring the thrashing and muffled shouting coming from the Hutt-sized crate next to them.

Jabba looked at Ciaran, then Borvo, then the crate containing Ziro, then at the datapad that Ciaran had given him and then,

"HOHOHOHOHO, HOHOHOHOHOHO!"

"The both of you are quite impressive, I have not heard him laugh so hard in joy in a long while," a servant commented.

After a moment of roaring laughter from the Hutt, he calmed down and faced Ciaran and Borvo. "I asked for you to return my son, and in response you not only completed the task at hand quickly and quietly, but you also thoroughly dealt with the root cause behind the incident in a similar fashion." He spread his arms in a magnanimous gesture. "I was right to come to you as I did. Now then such actions should be generously rewarded. First, Borvo."

The Hutt in question moved slightly and bowed to Jabba.

"As you have no doubt guessed, Ziro will no longer be responsible for operations on Coruscant...or his assets in general. Since you have proven to be loyal to the Hutt Clans, you will be given control of Ziro's assets to do with whatever you see fit, as well as my favor of course."

"Thank you, Lord Jabba," Borvo said respectfully, moving back and glancing over at Ciaran with a look of happiness clearly visible on his face.

"As for you, Lady Ciaran..."

Ciaran stepped forward, making sure to look respectful but still maintain a commanding presence.

"You have proven to be a great ally to the Hutt Clans, not only in this matter but through your destruction of the Black Sun." Ciaran was nonplussed as Jabba chuckled briefly. "We were very pleased to hear about your success in that matter. As such..."

Jabba leaned back and smiled.

"You have certainly earned passage through our space and the ability to trade within it, but that seems to be an insufficient gift for your considerable efforts. Which is why I am pleased to inform you that the rest of the Hutt Council have taken note of your efforts and along with myself have declared you to be a respected partner, which will be made apparent in additional benefits to you and your Abyss Watchers. Furthermore," he said, activating a holoprojector which displayed the top of a tall building, "as a token of both our appreciation and our good faith, we have set aside a building on Nar Shaddaa to do with as you please, in the hopes of fostering greater ties between us."

Ciaran bowed respectfully. "You and your brethren are most generous, Lord Jabba."

"As for Ziro, you may leave him here and he will be dealt with," Jabba said venomously as he turned to the crate, which suddenly stopped moving around as much.

Ciaran and Borvo nodded, then respectfully took their leave.

-------

As Ciaran and Borvo boarded the Scimitar and prepared to leave Tatooine, Ciaran was suddenly yanked into a suffocating hug by Borvo.

"I'm so proud of you my dear, you've come so very far since we've first met and it's been wonderful to see us both benefit so much from our partnership!"

"B-Borvo, c-can't breathe..."

The Hutt laughed happily as he released Ciaran who was gasping for breath though noticeably smiling in spite of it. "I do have one favor I need to ask, though."

"Anything, my dear!"

"Since you're going to be taking over Ziro's assets, that means you're going to be the Hutt closest to Republic politics. Which is why I want you to try and negotiate a treaty between them and the Hutt Council," Ciaran explained, briefly shifting into her business mode.

Borvo nodded. "I see, since I have the ear of the Council they will be more responsive to the idea. But why not somehow have someone in the Republic formally take credit?"

"Much as I was tempted to somehow have Padme publicly take credit for all of this it would have raised too much suspicion with the Separatists, and it might have convinced their leaders to take more drastic measures had I been perceived as being responsible for giving the Republic such a huge advantage in the war."

Borvo laughed again. "Cunning as always, my dear. But let's forget about all of that conspiracy nonsense for now; once we get back to Coruscant we're going to have a celebration for the Abyss Watchers at my palace!"

Rewards:
Diplomacy: Renewed ties with Padme, Obi-Wan, and Anakin, discussion about Anakin's status as a Jedi continued
Stewardship: Partnership with Sienar Fleet Systems established, customized ships now available for creation/purchase from Sienar, gained personal contact with Raith Sienar, PR-1 gains Bartering Routines trait
Intrigue: Income penalty reduced by 15% due to Hutt Space trade (will be converted to new income at end of war), Stewardship action regained due to Hutt Space access, free base on Nar Shaddaa, Hutt-Republic alliance covertly discussed, Jedi grudgingly and quietly give credit to Ciaran for averting a diplomatic incident, Ciaran gains Hutt Favoritism trait

AN: As it turns out when I smooshed these three actions together they became a lot more than the sum of their parts...which is why so much happened because of the Rotta action. It all makes logical sense in my head at least, though you all might have different opinions. Maybe.

Though by far my favorite part of writing up this chapter was Ciaran telling Anakin about Vectivus; obviously I took my inspiration for that scene from Sidious telling him about Plagueis in canon but I fell in love with the idea of making Anakin the more dominant figure of the two in that conversation despite him not saying anything, giving a glimpse of what it would be like for a normal Force user to feel the sheer power of The Chosen One. I think it turned out great, though obviously your opinions may differ.

Also at close to 4k words this marks the biggest update I have ever done for anything ever. Go me!

Minilude - That Is A Terrible Idea
"Master Kenobi! How was the party?"

"It was...an experience as always young Padawan, and as with all things related to Ciaran I'm not entirely sure going there was a wise idea."

"You know, maybe I could meet her-"

"Ahsoka, that is a terrible idea."

-------

"Master, ho-are you okay? You seem a bit out of it."

"...I'll be fine. It's just been a long day."

"But weren't you at that party earlier? Wasn't that a good time?"

"Not as much as you might think little one, especially since Ciaran was involved in it."

"Oh, Master Kenobi mentioned her too! Do you think I could meet-"

"Ahsoka, that is a terrible idea."

"That's exactly what Master Kenobi said!"

"Well then you should take his advice."

Turn 22 Rumor Mill
Galactic News:
CIS Gearing Up For New Advances: The CIS seems to have recovered from their defeat at Kamino and are beginning to regain momentum, though to a lesser extent than at the beginning of the war.

Seti Ashgad Missing: After significantly criticizing the Supreme Chancellor's decision to have additional holocameras installed within the Senate building the Senator Seti Ashgad, a rising star and popular figure in the Senate, has vanished with no clues to his whereabouts. Palpatine and his supporters have stated that the timing is purely coincidental.

Bail Organa Stymies New Proposal: Bail Organa, a Senator from Alderaan has been making waves in the political community lately for consistently opposing the proposed Enhanced Security and Enforcement Act which would grant the Supreme Chancellor further powers should it be enacted.

Underground News:
Black Sun Annihilated: The destruction of the Black Sun has sent shockwaves throughout the underworld as many of the former organization's members have either joined other gangs or left crime altogether. It's clear to everyone that the Abyss Watchers are the newest big name around.

Hutts Extend Favoritism To Abyss Watchers: In addition, it's become clear to those in the know that the Hutt Council has declared that the Abyss Watchers are to be treated as favored associates, effectively declaring them to be the other major power of the underworld and allied with the Hutts.

Organization News:
Morale Skyrockets Across Abyss Watchers: The massive financial gains, destruction of the Black Sun, and favoritism from the Hutts all gained in the last quarter have caused morale to dramatically increase throughout the Abyss Watchers.

Partnership With Sienar Welcomed: The declaration of partnership between Sienar and Karada for "humanitarian purposes" has been very popular publicly, and the more savvy members of both groups expect to profit significantly from it.

Surveillance on Skywalker Family Increased: Due to reasons unknown to the lower groups, the surveillance on Shmi Skywalker and persons associated with her has increased significantly, with generous offers being made to Shmi to support the "humanitarian efforts" recently opened on Tatooine.

Map of Abyss Watchers Assets/CNS Space (As Of Turn 21)
All right, so my computer ate my initial attempt, but here's the final map:

This map is current as of Turn 21, and includes all of our Abyss Watcher bases and planetary assets.

I decided to place our private planet Kiln in the northern reaches of the Unknown Regions, because (per Wookiepedia) that same galactic grid (I-5) is the area Thrawn was exiled to after Outbound Flight. Since we discovered him during a 'minor astrographical sweep', this tells us his planet was probably fairly close to ours.
The commander who found you said that you were found on an otherwise uninhabited planet some ways off in the Unknown Regions during a minor astrographical sweep.

I decided to place our new asteroid base on the edge of the 'Corporate Sector' in the northern Outer Rim, per @fasquardon's suggestion, though also on the border of the Wyl Sector and near the Sith Worlds region. Since I didn't want to label it 'asteroid', I also named it La'Sombra (as suggested by @Sinsystems and @Muer'ci last turn.)
Sinsystem and Muer'ci suggested La'Sombra (Spanish for 'the shadow') -- I like the name and considered using it for the System, but I'm more inclined to use that name for our new Asteroid Base (since we'll most likely be using it as a blacksite for our operations).

Finally, for the borders of Neutral (CNS) Space, I relied on this searchable 'galaxy map' as well as this map of the Outer Rim sectors. Specifically, we know from canon that the original CNS represents 1,500 systems, notably including Mandalore and Taris. Due to their proximity, I figured that most of the other systems would be in the same or neighboring sectors. Given (OOC) the sheer number of CNS-related crits we've rolled and (IC) Ciaran's remarkably effective leadership of the CNS, not to mention her reputation as a pan-galactic humanitarian, I figured that the CNS would have seen impressive success in swaying its neighbors to a neutral stance. Therefore, I drew the borders of CNS space to include six continguous sectors in the Outer Rim: Mandalore, Ojoster, Meerian, Belsmuth, Thrasybule, and Demetras.

Note that this puts us in spitting distance of Asajj's homeworld of Dathomir, not to mention Count Dooku's estates in Serenno. We're also not too far from the asteroid mining colony once run by Darth Vectivus (by the planet Bimmiel), and the old Massassi (Sith) Temple on Yavin.

Turn 22, BBY 21 Third Quarter
Reminder: 24-hour moratorium on voting

BBY 21, Third Quarter

Current Treasury: 1170
Current Income: 1732
Current Upkeep: 1090

The Abyss Watchers have been experiencing massive gains in the last quarter in finance, diplomacy, and even some of the higher officers have all grown in their own ways. It seems like now more than ever you can stop reacting to the war and start being proactive instead.

Still, you're a little worried; if nothing else your meeting with Anakin and that sheer pressure you felt from him was a frightening experience. The fact that you've decided to keep a closer eye on Shmi from now on is purely coincidental though. Clearly...

Martial: You'd think that having Thrawn and Grievous around would reassure your military advisors, except now they're worried that you're going to be doing even more audacious things to profit from the war.

Pick 2:

[] More droids!: You need to buy more. Now more than ever before! Chance of Success: 80% Cost: 60 Reward: 4-6 new groups of Battle droids

[] Black Ops: The CIS advance has been gearing up again, and while they aren't as effective as they once were they still have an advantage in the war. Send some teams their way and fix that. Chance of Success: 75% Cost: 50 Reward: CIS war effort damaged

[] Mercenary Work: Jabba's offered to hire on some of your mercenaries for work within Hutt Space should you ever require additional credits to make ends meet. Chance of Success: 70% Reward: 100 Credits

[] Organa Protection Detail: If recent events are any indication Bail Organa is likely about to be targeted by Palpatine-sponsored assassins so that he can remove a political opponent from the board. Protecting him could earn you another valuable asset in the Senate aside from your dear friend Padme. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 50 Reward: Protection detail for Bail Organa quietly established

[] Let's Vary Piracy, With A Little Burglary: Instead of just randomly attacking assets in CIS space to slow them down, why not focus your efforts on selected systems and see if you can use those efforts to potentially persuade them to join the CNS? Chance of Success: 60% Cost: 75 Reward: Loot, selected area destabilized and potential recruit for the CNS
-[] Serenno: the neighboring D'Astan sector not only includes Count Dooku's homeworld of Serenno, but also the bustling (and hyper-corrupt) ecumenopolis of Axxila, and the trade world of Celano along a major hyperlane spur.
-[] Skako: A Separatist enclave to be sure, but the most notable part of the area is that its the home of the Techno Union, a rich pro-Sep organization that you never really got along with anyway...
-[] Onderon: Currently suffering from a particularly brutal civil war due to the CIS occupying the planet, you could send your teams to sabotage CIS assets in the area and turn the tide over to the rebel forces.
-[] Write in

[] Hyperspace Lane Pirating: A step beyond just targeting a system or two, this would be launching a series of pirate raids on a hyperspace lane controlled by the CIS. Not only would you be able to hurt their supply lines quite a bit if it works, but the loot would be fantastic. Of course, the CIS is perfectly aware of this vulnerability... Chance of Success: 50% Cost: 100 Reward: Selected lane heavily pirated, loot
-[] Celanon Spur: The planets of Shaum Hill and Agamar lie on this route that leads directly to the front lines.
-[] Salin Corridor: A lane close to CNS space, your efforts would focus on the Vjun and Gromas systems.
-[] Hydian Way: The lane closest to CNS space, this area contains planets such as Celanon and Axxila. You would try to ignore Sereno for fear of antagonizing Dooku...

[] Write in
Diplomacy: The war is here, the diplomatic landscape looks particularly ragged and everything is going downhill fast.

Pick 1:

[] Peacemaker: Use your position to convince reasonable people on either side that the war is a terrible idea and economically as well as for the galactic society a complete disaster. Considering the details behind the war you are quite sure that its not going to do anything useful, BUT it's likely to bog down minor conflicts here and there and improve your reputation once again. Chance of Success: 60% Reward: ???

[] Shards Encased In Iron: You know that Cheriss is a Shard these days, but according to her there are others like her who are skilled engineers and filled with wanderlust. It might be worth getting in contact with the Shard worlds to see if you can get the chance to recruit some of them for yourself. Chance of Success: 70% Reward: Contact with Shard worlds established, potential to recruit Shard engineers

[] Between the Light and Dark: While you have a number of Force users on your staff right now it might be worth looking into getting into contact with other Force using groups in the galaxy that aren't necessarily aligned to the Jedi or Sith and see if you can gain something from contacting them. Chance of Success: 70% Reward: Contact with chosen organization established
-[] Corellian Jedi Order: Probably the second largest order of Force users in the galaxy, the Corellian Jedi are fiercely protective of their homeworld. Given that you aren't exactly that popular with the main Order these days they might be worth getting in contact with.
-[] Disciples of the Whills: A group of Force worshipers fiercely protective of their home of Jedha, they occupy a planet that is rich in both historical artifacts and valuable Kyber crystals.
-[] Tyia Adepts: A pacifistic philosophy practiced by the Revwiens, it emphasizes the value of all life and acting with honor.
-[] Baran Do: A reclusive order of Kel Doors who spend the majority of their time contemplating the nature of the Force, supposedly awaiting the "proper time" to act.
-[] Fallanasi: A mostly female group of pacifistic Force users that have unique abilities to beguile their foes.
-[] Write-in (Subject to Veto)

[] CNS Recruitment: There are a number of systems nearby that don't particularly lean one way or the other in the war; maybe you could persuade them to join the CNS instead? Chance of Success: 80% Reward: Selected planet and nearby systems join the CNS
-[] Corellia: They're already isolated from the war as it is, though they are distant from main CNS space and a major set of Core Worlds at that.
-[] Alpheridies: The Miraluka adoptive homeworld, and by extension your ancestral home is right on the CNS borders.
-[] Dathomir: Ventress' homeworld and a isolated planet at that; your efforts would be more focused on the systems around it.
-[] Lucasez: The homeworld of the Fallanasi order, they are more pacifistic and would prefer to stay out of the war as a whole.
-[] Muunilist: The home of the IGBC and recently devastated by the war, the planet's leaders would certainly appreciate the chance to declare neutrality.
-[] Maridun: Not an important planet in and of itself, but it is home to a significant number of refugees who are fleeing the battles on Mygeeto.

Stewardship: Borvo has been ecstatic since he's been given control of Ziro's assets and the finances of the Abyss Watchers have started to stabilize. It helps that now he has his own palace to spend time in.

Pick 2:

[] Alternate routes?: The trade is going terribly due to most hyperspace routes crawling with military fleets, companies standing on different sides of the war and various other issues. You have to find alternative routes to at least get some of the trade you are involved in moving again. Chance of Success: 60% Reward: Trade/Investment Income penalty reduced by 5% from its current amount (Takes 3 turns)

[] You expect me to smuggle what?: Exactly what it says on the tin. Hire smugglers to bypass the blockades and get the trade flowing again. Not exactly cheap and quite unusual since most of the cargo is legal, but still. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 100 Upkeep: 20 Reward: Trade/Investment Income penalty reduced by 5% from its current amount (Takes 2 turns)

[] Hey, Trade Federation! Do what you do best!: With that you don't mean trying to ruin themselves or being someones pawn but to let some of your partner companies trade with them or at least let their traders join their trade convoys. After all, trading is what the Federation does... official. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 100 Reward: Trade/Investment Income penalty reduced by 10% from its current amount (Takes 2 turns)

[] War-Ravaged Recovery: The survivors of war-torn worlds don't usually thrive in the midst of the devastation wrecked on them. Fortunately, you have a very well funded humanitarian organization with a near-unlimited remit, and very close ties to a Council of Systems that just want to stay out of the war. Use your humanitarian funding to buy Neutral-produced goods and services for the refugee camps, negotiate regular shipments and trade deals to ensure a smooth recovery and reconstruction. Chance of Success: 60% Cost: 100 Upkeep: 20 Reward: Income penalty reduced by 5%

[] Sienar Custom Vessel: Now that you've partnered with Sienar you can request customized ships from them for a price. You can either send them a plan of your own, or give their engineers a base concept and let them work out the details. Chance of Success: 90%
-[] "Humanitarian" Transports: A line of ships that could be used to ferry wounded from system to system, the fact that they would also be fitted with experimental stealth systems is purely to make sure that they aren't seen by any pirates or what have you, obviously. Cost: 150 Reward: Humanitarian/Stealth Transports designed/produced
-[] "Rescue" Ships: VTOL-capable ships about the size of the Scimitar, these vessels would be heavily armored rapid response ships that can quickly rescue people from potentially hostile environments. What are the rapid-fire guns for, you ask? Why, you might have to defend yourself from predators or raiders or something! Cost: 100 Reward: Rescue/Assault Gunships designed/produced
-[] "Diplomatic" Ships: The CNS could stand to have more official diplomatic vessels to help them get to negotiations faster. The fact that they would be heavily armed, armored, fast, and contain a shroud to negate tractor beams is because sometimes negotiations can get...aggressive. Cost: 150 Reward: Diplomatic Cruiser designed/produced
-[] Personalized Courier Ships: Unlike the rest of the designs you've suggested these are fairly straightforward: extremely fast ships that can be personalized before their completion by their prospective owner. They'd certainly be nice gifts to your high-ranking members. Cost: 150 Reward: Personalized Courier ships designed/selectively produced
-[] Scout Vessel: Another relatively cut and dry suggestion; these would be ships specifically geared toward surveying. For once there's really no other subtext here. Cost: 100 Reward: Advanced Scout Ships designed/produced
-[] Shoni Escort Ships: A...unique...design from Grievous named after the spear his people use, this diamond-shaped ship is heavily armored and well-armed, serving as a heavy escort ship...though according to Grievous it could also be used to board ships by ramming it into them and allowing the pilot/boarder to enter the ship that way. Raith is confident that it could work, though he's said that you'd have to be insane or suicidal to try and use the ramming method given how dangerous it could be. Cost: 100 Reward: Shoni Escort Ships designed/produced
-[] Write-in (High concept or other design, subject to veto, cost determined by GM)

[] Contact Ship-builders: If your efforts with Sienar are any indication you might have a bright future available to you in the starship industry; but you're going to need to get in contact with the producers first. Chance of Success: 70% Reward: Contact with chosen corporation gained
-[] Incom Corporation: Producers of starfighters, transports, and landspeeders
-[] Kuat Drive Yards: Producers of heavy capital ships
-[] Write-in

[] Write in
Intrigue: Gulan has been insufferably smug after the destruction of the Black Sun, although to be fair it has been a major coup for your organization.

Pick 2:

[] Lots of plans, lots of wrenches: Between the CIS war effort temporarily slowing down and all of the new information you've gained from Ventress, now might be a good time to stir up some trouble behind the scenes. Chance of Success: 60% Cost: 50 Reward: CIS war effort damaged

[] Sev'rance Package: Sev'rance Tann has actually reappeared again as one of the key leaders of the CIS military. Since she is Dooku's apprentice, it might be worth keeping an eye on her to see if she leads you to any useful information. Chance of Success: 60% Cost: 50 Reward: Sev'rance Tann tracked

[] The Count of Sereno: You know Dooku is a Dark Sider. You know that he's working for Sidious, the man behind this war. So the best way to find Sidious is to get as much information from his actions as possible. Given how thorough he was with your blackmail though...it probably won't be easy. Chance of Success: 40% Cost: 100 Reward: Count Dooku's actions tracked

[] The Hunt For A Madman: Now that you have a name for the one responsible for the synthetic virus outbreaks, you can begin hunting him down. Send out your agents and figure out everything you can about Wesker before he returns with yet another virus. Chance of Success: 50% Cost: 100 Reward: Wesker located

[] The Golden Tempter: Seti Ashgad has recently disappeared and it's blatantly obvious from the reports that it was because he was opposing Palpatine. While the odds are that he's very dead, having evidence against the Supreme Chancellor for corruption would definitely be worth the effort of finding him, or more likely his corpse. Chance of Success: 40% Cost: 100 Reward: Fate of Seti Ashgad determined

[] Write in
Lore: Tyro's happy to report that Ventress has been slamming his trainees into walls much less often. He considers it to be a significant improvement in her behavior.

Pick 1:

[] Tomb Raider: The starmap you got from your archeological expedition with Jerec has several planets or in other cases only systems marked on it with possible locations of other ruins, tombs or similar which MIGHT hold additional treasure or knowledge to be looted. Chance of Success: 60% Reward: ???

[] Force research: The Force is interesting and despite claims to the contrary (especially those of the Jedi) it has not been fully understood, most likely not even sufficiently, and there are still tricks to be discovered here and there. Chance of Success: 70% Reward: Progress in researching new Tricks and Techniques (Takes 2 turns)

[] Incorporate Luka Sene Techniques: The abilities that you've learned from the Luka Sene aren't exactly flashy, but between their improved ability to use Force vision in combat as well as the more engineering oriented ability for them to see energy fields, there's definitely plenty your Agents can learn from. Chance of Success: 80% Reward: Luka Sene abilities taught to all Agents

[] Research Alternative Force Schools: While the Jedi and Sith are the most well-known Force users in the galaxy there are certainly others that have mastered more esoteric techniques that could be useful to you. You already have information on them from the datachips so it shouldn't be too difficult. (Choose 1 below) Chance of Success: 70% Reward: Learn techniques from other Force users
-[] Jensaarai: A group of Force users that apparently follow a blend of Jedi and Sith teachings. Their unique ability is "ballistakinesis," which is basically hurling things at enemies at blindingly fast/lethal speeds.
-[] Matukai: A nomadic group, the Matukai have been able to use the Force to massively augment their bodies and push them to their limits.
-[] Fallanasi: A mostly female group of pacifistic Force users, their unique abilities are projected illusions and the ability to become practically undetectable.
-[] Write-in (Subject to Veto)

[] Homecoming Trip: Vectivus' holocron mentioned that his journey into Sith teachings began when he discovered that one of his asteroid holdings was suffused with the Dark Side, and that he later came back and converted it into a personal mansion to continue his research. Given how much your and Ventress' Force studies have benefited from his knowledge it might be worth trying to locate it and see if there is anything still there. Chance of Success: 60% Cost 50 Reward: ???

[] Archaeological Expeditions: There are very famous sites in the galaxy that are dying for someone to lead expeditions to...and potentially locate Force-related artifacts. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 100 Reward: Expedition to chosen location launched
-[] Dantooine: An Jedi academy was on this planet many millennia ago, and it would certainly take little effort to launch an expedition there given you already own property on it.
-[] Korriban: The origin world of the Sith, this planet would contain plenty of artifacts for those that can withstand the wildlife and the immense influence of the Dark Side.
-[] Telos (IV): Home to the old Jedi Agricultural Corps, though it was bombed during the Jedi Civil War it should still contain plenty of secrets for those willing to look for them.
-[] Yavin IV: Home to many different Force temples, the moon would certainly contain plenty of interesting artifacts on its surface.

[] Write in
Learning: Var Zheen is busy, busy, buuuussssyyyyyy! Too much havoc happening in the galaxy, too much to do as result! At least Cheriss is asking for replacement parts now...

Pick 1:

[] Investigate Anomalies: The maps gained from the Expedition into the Unknown Regions you funded noted several unusuall anomalies nobody could make any sense off. Perhaps your researchers can figure something out. Chance of Success: 60% Cost: 60 Reward: ???

[] Develop improved Medical Gear: The Karada Corporation needs equipment distinct from that of the competition, as few as there might be. Both for personal use and modified to personal preferences and to sell. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 60 Reward: Bonus on any action to increase Karada profits, officialy produce high-quality gear [Takes 4 turns, locks actions for 2 turns]

[] Develop improved Medicine: The Karada Corporation needs to develop new types of medicine instead of just producing legal knock-offs of what allready exists. Either by providing variants speficialy designed for specific species, improving on allready existing types of Medicine or similiar. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 80 Reward: Bonus on any action to increase Karada profits, officialy produce high-quality medicine and medpacs [Takes 4 turns, locks actions for 2 turns]

[] Analyze recovered research data and samples: The space station you and your teams raided and have now occupied actually had been properly cleared of anything useful and most data wiped beyond saving, but fortunately your researchers are quite capable of using the dead mutants as samples for research and its also not impossible to restore some of the damaged data. Time to bring everything to the Oracle. Chance of Success: 65% Reward: More information on the mutants, slight chance to get additional information on the conducted research

[] Develop Virus Library: With the galaxy being as big as it is and its population being as varied as it is there are bound to exist countless diseases, viruses and other even more unpleasant things. Develop a library holding various samples for further research. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 100 Reward: Virus research for vaccines or bioweapons [Takes 2 turns, locks actions for 1 turn]

[X] Research Inhibitor Chips: Highly encrypted, extremely advanced, and definitely dangerous, the inhibitor chips you recovered from Kamino are one of the biggest mysteries in the entire war. It's an important project, but it will take a considerable amount of time and effort to break through engineering like this. Chance of Success: 50% Cost: 150 Reward: Learn details about inhibitor chips (2 Turns Remaining, 1 Turn Lock Remaining)

[] Non-Human Genemods: The Arkanians have developed mods for the Human/Near-Human families, but more research is going to be needed from them if they're going to be able to genemod other species. They have a good start from the mods thus far so research on this shouldn't take too long. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 100 Reward: Genemodding available for non-human species [Takes 2 turns, locks actions for 1 turn]

[] Under The Knife: The Arkanians are now able and very willing to begin genemodding on new volunteers at your facilities should they ask for it. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 100 Reward: Selected Hero Unit genemodded
-[] Choose 1 Hero Unit:
--[] Silencer: No response as usual.
--[] Silas: Is actually eager to be modded given that it would set back his age at least a little bit.
--[] Thrawn: Ambivalent to the idea, but if you want him to go through with it he will.
--[] Ventress: Leery of the Arkanians, it might be a bit difficult to get her to go through with it.
-[] Choose 1 Genemod:
--[] Chiss: Thrawn's species, red-eyed and blue-skinned with above-average night vision and inherently fit bodies. (Martial, Intrigue)
--[] Echani: The progenitors of the Silencer's Thyrsian species, they are fierce fighters who believe in the concept of communication through combat. (Martial, Lore)
--[] Pau'an: Natives of Utapau, they can see well in darkness but their most notable trait is their extremely long lifespans. The Arkanians have noted that this genemod will extend a recipient's life span considerably more than a normal mod, though the exact numbers are currently unknown. (Intrigue, enhanced lifespan)
--[] Miraluka: Your own species, able to see through the Force despite a lack of eyes. The Arkanians have admitted that they're not entirely sure what will happen if that mod is used due to the species' natural connection with the Force. (Lore, ???)
--[] Zabrak: A tough species that is extremely resistant to physical pain. (Martial)
--[] Zeltron: An incredibly attractive species that uses pheromones to gain an edge in social conversations. (Diplomacy, Intrigue)

[] Write in
Personal: Well, what to do with your free time?

Pick 2:

[] Physical Training: While you are hardly incapable in combat the fact of the matter is that your subordinates are way better than you are at fighting...it might be worthwhile to learn from them in that case. Chance of Success: 70%
-[] Strategy Lessons: Between Grievous and Thrawn you have some very skilled leaders under your employ, and you could hardly ask for better instructors if you want to learn more about how to properly command troops on the field. Reward: Martial Increase, command training
-[] Piloting 101: Sure you can fly a ship from Point A to Point B, but you aren't really prepared for a real dogfight if the situation calls for it. Ventress is, and while she has been willing to train you could have sworn you saw her grin slightly when you asked. Reward: Martial Increase, pilot training
-[] Write in

[] Force Training: At this point from what you can tell your own personal training isn't going to be enough if you really want to get better at Force manipulation. You're either going to need outside help or in-depth recordings to really get anywhere new. Chance of Success: 70%
-[] General Training: Ventress is admittedly a far better Force user than you and you could stand to learn from her. When you asked she was willing to help but she has also stated that said training will be "very painful." Well, it's a step up from "excruciatingly painful," right? Reward: Lore Increase
-[] Blazing Chains (Basic): Tyro's been around for what seems like ages now but you've never actually learned the Blazing Chains techniques from him. It might be about time to fix that. Reward: Lore Increase, Blazing Chains Style Learned
-[] Luka Sene (Enhanced Combat Perception): While the energy field perception of the Luka Sene isn't really that valuable to you, their notes on making your Force vision more effective in combat are certainly worth looking into. Reward: Lore Increase, Enhanced Combat Perception Learned

[] Personal attention/Increased Focus: Sometimes you just have to either keep an eye on your minions to ensure that they don't screw up or prepare more intensively for something that you need to handle personally. Chance of Success: 100%. Reward: Your stats + Force Sight bonus added to a action of your choice

[] Accelerate research: The research at Karada is going way too slowly. Dedicate your free time and some additional resources to speed it all up. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 50 Reward: Research time halved, action lock time halved

[] Write in
Hero Units: You've been gathering a lot of talented individuals under your command, and many of them have ambitions of their own that they may need your help with to succeed.

Optional, Pick Up To 2, Uses Hero Unit's Full Stats:

[] PR-1: Upgrades Required: PR-1 has been a valuable asset to you for a long time but the fact of the matter is that he's simply falling behind your more talented members in many fields. At this point it's probably worth it to search for upgrades to him to enhance his capabilities. (Uses Stewardship Bonuses, PR-1 must be assigned to this action if chosen) Chance of Success: 70% Cost 50 Reward: Upgrades for PR-1, ???

[] Silas Cata: Mind of a Scoundrel: While Silas has known quite a few other scoundrels throughout his life and your organization has many ties within the underworld, Silas has suggested that you visit a few seedy bars and do some talent hunting. As he put it you would never hear of the best scoundrels and there's no better way of finding them than the old-fashioned ways. (Uses Intrigue Bonuses, Silas Cata must be assigned to this action if chosen) Chance of Success: 60% Reward: Potential new employees located, ???

[] The Silencer: Legacy of the Sun: While the revelation of the Silencer's heritage hasn't affected the man that much, Grievous is convinced that if he were to learn from his people he would become an even fiercer fighter. You're not entirely sure if that's the case but having him train with the Thrysians might be worthwhile given their martial prowess. (Uses Martial Bonuses, The Silencer must be assigned to this action if chosen) Chance of Success: 70% Reward: The Silencer trains with the Thrysians, ???

[] Cheriss Sair: A New Body: Now that Cheriss' actual identity has been revealed and no one seems to be too concerned about the robotic Torguta running around Cheriss has floated the idea of constructing a more efficient, reliable, and less "squishy" body (in her own words). As an added benefit, she's also planning on experimenting with some other technologies that might have applications elsewhere. (Uses Learning Bonuses, Cheriss Sair must be assigned to this action if chosen) Chance of Success: 60% Cost: 50 Reward: Cheriss gains a new body, ???

[] Thrawn: Return of the Mand'alor: After observing your recent efforts on Mandalore, Thrawn has come to the conclusion that while your actions have been effective thus far your current methods won't be enough to galvanize the Mandalorian warriors into a more proactive state and therefore able to be recruited by you. They'll need a symbol. They'll need a Mand'alor. And Thrawn is all too eager to give them one; he just needs to convince Jango Fett to return to his home. And given the fire in his eyes you think he might actually be able to pull it off though from what you know of Fett it won't be easy. (Uses Diplomacy Bonuses, Thrawn must be assigned to this action if chosen) Chance of Success: 40% Reward: Thrawn speaks with Jango about his status as Mandalore, ???

[] Grievous: Let the Hunt Begin: While he is certainly happy to work with you Grievous has requested the chance for him and a group of Kaleesh warriors chosen by him to go on a hunt. His destination: Vendaxa, a planet home to some of the fiercest predators in the galaxy. Well, if he thinks it's a good idea... (Uses Martial Bonuses, Grievous must be assigned to this action if chosen) Chance of Success: 60% Reward: Grievous hones his skills through his hunts, ???

Asajj Ventress will be spending this quarter focusing on learning the Buried Presence technique from Tyro. Free Action.
New Bases:

Naboo: Surprisingly the one spot that was offered to you to build a mansion is still unoccupied with your men bluntly confirming that it was made sure that the area is kept free for at least a few more years just in case you decide to buy the place. Its not far from Theed and in a particularly beautiful area. Cost: 200 Reward: Mansion on Naboo

Nemodia: While you might be playing the role of a neutral faction in the war the Trade Federation is still grateful enough to you for your past aid to mark a nice mansion on Nemodia for you to buy to "foster better relations." Fact of the matter is that said mansion would be on a planet where the TF has many droid factories... Cost: 200 Reward: Base on Nemodia

Castell: You've had some good dealings with the Commerce Guild in the past, and you've located a plot on Castell that you might be able to build up into a decent trading facility. Cost: 200 Reward: Facility on Castell

Scipio: Leveraging a few contacts within the IGBC has given you the chance to get some valuable property on Scipio itself, and it would be so very close to some very fat bank accounts... Cost: 200 Reward: Property on Scipio

Munnilist: The IGBC has generously put aside a mansion for you on Munnilist, and the fact that they have suffered from some damage from the war is completely irrelevant to the fact that the price has noticeably decreased... Cost: 100 Reward: Mansion on Munnilist

Lianna: Raith has pointed out that if you want to truly give a sign of partnership with him you could always establish a Karada corporation branch on Lianna. He's even pointed out a good facility for you to move into. Cost: 200 Reward: Facility on Lianna

Corulag: Alternatively, Raith is willing to set aside some property on Corulag if you're willing to help invest in the more clandestine Advanced Research Division branch of his company. Cost: 200 Reward: Facility on Corulag

Kashyyyk: While it's been some time since you've last worked with the Wookies your contributions to them have still been remembered and they would be willing to offer you the chance to purchase property on the planet if you choose. Cost: 200 Reward: Facility on Kashyyyk

[] Write-in (Flat 200 Cost, Idea Subject to GM Veto)

Base Upgrades: With how many credits you own it might be an idea to upgrade your bases a bit. (1 Free Upgrade Available)

Coruscant Base:

[] CNS Embassy: While it's true that the CNS is certainly in contact with the Republic there isn't anything official that represents that quite yet. Establishing a proper embassy would not only improve credibility but the new staff would make diplomatic efforts far easier. Cost: 150 Upkeep: 75 Reward: Additional diplomacy action (CNS-related actions only)

[] Security Company: It's certainly been some time since you've left the Coruscant Underworld but it pays to return to your roots at time. Like say, creating a security company to legitimize protection fees! Shouldn't be too hard for you to get that running. Cost: 25 Reward: 5 Income (Protection Money)

[] Underworld Takeover: Your presence may have expanded across the galaxy but in your experience consolidation always pays. Use your new might and start acquiring new territory in the Coruscant Underworld and consolidate. Cost: 75 Reward: Guardian/Seeker recruitment rate increase, can be taken more than once

[] Write in: Stay reasonable

Kaleesh Outpost:

[] Kalee Development Program: Thanks to your stellar relationship with the Kaleesh and the fact that you have Grievous himself in your organization, you have the opportunity to solidify your alliance with the Kaleesh people by setting aside some funds for everything they could ever want from weapons to supplies to prefab buildings. Not only will this generally improve the quality of life on Kalee, but it will allow their people to send even more warriors to you, permanently solidifying your alliance with them. Cost: 150 Upkeep: 75 Reward: Cap on Kaleesh warriors removed, Kalee begins improving economically, continued hatred of the Huk (like you care)

[] High-Grade Training Facilities: With the amount of people you've been bringing into the Abyss Watchers as of late, it's become clear that 'battlefield' experience simply won't cut it anymore if you want to keep your soldiers in peak condition. As such, Xruk has requested new facilities and staff to help train up your current soldiers on Kalee. You tried to ignore how excited he was at the thought... Cost: 150 Upkeep: 50 Reward: Troops automatically upgrade over time

[] Write in: Stay reasonable

Oracle (Lucrehulk):

[] Sienar Ship Customization: The Oracle is a fine ship, but it could be better; now that you've partnered with Sienar you could let him and his team loose on the ship and see what they can do to upgrade it. Cost: 100 Upkeep: 25 Reward: Increased general performance of Oracle

[] Write in: Stay reasonable

Mandalorian Mansion:

[] Hidden Defenses: The usual protections, better safe than sorry and all. Cost: 50 Reward: Mansion defended against possible attacks

[] Beskar Iron Mine Lease: While the Death Watch are still being purged from Concordia there have been a number of iron mines already freed from them and the Mandalorian government is looking for investors. Having access to those metals might come in handy. Cost: 100 Upkeep: 50 Reward: Access to Beskar iron, increase in elite troop armor quailty

-[] Spider Droid Factory: Cost: 100 (Takes 1 turn) Upkeep: 50 Reward: +1 Spiderdroid group per turn

La'Sombra (Asteroid Base):

[] Defense Grid: The new base might be hard to find but it pays to be sure that it's guarded. Cost: 50 Reward: Defenses for base established

[] Carnivore Containment Facilities: The fact of the matter is that the galaxy is home to a lot of very angry and very dangerous predators that can tear people to shreds in an instant. So why not capture a few for yourself and see if you can tame them? You know, as long as you place several durasteel walls between them and everyone else... Cost: 100 Upkeep: 50 Reward: Containment facilities for aggressive fauna constructed

AN: I've officially run out of ideas for what I can do with Coruscant, so any further upgrades for it are going to have to be write-ins if you want them. Given how much is there, I admit I'm not exactly too worried about that fact.

Also I'm declaring a hard cap of 20 for the Watcher teams, non-negotiable. To be honest that's another gameplay concession; if I let you keep gathering up teams you could easily break the game, and it might encourage you guys to use them more often.

As for the write-in options, most of them have made it in here, though I'm restricting the Jedha base until other actions are completed (take a wild guess as to which). With Sienar, I've given you a couple of "starter options" for ships you can get from him though other write-in designs are certainly welcome.

As always a reminder that there is a 24-hour moratorium on voting. Enjoy~

[X] Organa Protection Detail: If recent events are any indication Bail Organa is likely about to be targeted by Palpatine-sponsored assassins so that he can remove a political opponent from the board. Protecting him could earn you another valuable asset in the Senate aside from your dear friend Padme. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 50 Reward: Protection detail for Bail Organa quietly established
-[X] 5 Watcher Teams

Rolled: 31 + 10 = 41 (Success)

This turned out to be as necessary as you had expected it to be.

You ended up creating a shell corporation that was meant to provide support for political figures and with a series of "coincidental" advertisements and salespersons Bail decided to hire on your group just in case.

They ended up saving his life when a group of pirates attempted to launch an attack on a ship carrying the man, which your forces were able to fend off. This wouldn't have been notable except for the fact that he was on a transport that was specifically designed for men of his station, something that normal pirates tended to avoid for fear of repercussion...At any rate, the news of the attack has made the Senate a bit more skittish, but Bail has managed to continue blocking Palpatine's new proposal despite that.

You also made very sure to clarify who he had to thank for saving his life...though having Padme vouch for you in her own way helped.

Rewards: Protection for Bail Organa established, probable assassination attempt negated, contact with Bail Organa gained

[X] Let's Vary Piracy, With A Little Burglary: Instead of just randomly attacking assets in CIS space to slow them down, why not focus your efforts on selected systems and see if you can use those efforts to potentially persuade them to join the CNS? Chance of Success: 60% Cost: 75 Reward: Loot, selected area destabilized and potential recruit for the CNS
-[X] Onderon: Currently suffering from a particularly brutal civil war due to the CIS occupying the planet, you could send your teams to sabotage CIS assets in the area and turn the tide over to the rebel forces.
-[X] Grievous

Rolled: 41 + 24 = 65 (Success)

The Onderon resistance was outnumbered, outgunned, and very desperate when Grievous came to them. Fortunately for them, those were the exact conditions he faced during his own wars against the Huk.

Using those same tactics he honed on Kalee, Grievous led the Onderon resistance in a series of daring raids, striking out at everything from supply bases to statues for the CIS puppet monarch in a stunningly aggressive campaign. While the CIS has attempted to retaliate, they've been stymied by the resistance's ability to effectively hide away from them, and they've been gaining significant popular support that has aided them with that.

In short, Onderon is rapidly becoming a quagmire for the CIS as they've begun to throw more and more forces at it in hopes of quashing the increasingly dangerous rebellion on the planet. While the rebels have been unsuccessful in completely kicking the CIS off the planet, they've proved effective at making them pay for it.

Rewards: Onderon becomes a quagmire and forces CIS forces to be diverted to it, +75 Credits from looting

Diplomacy:

[X] CNS Recruitment: There are a number of systems nearby that don't particularly lean one way or the other in the war; maybe you could persuade them to join the CNS instead? Chance of Success: 80% Reward: Selected planet and nearby systems join the CNS
-[X] Alpheridies: The Miraluka adoptive homeworld, and by extension your ancestral home is right on the CNS borders.

Rolled: 21 + 10 = 31 (Success)

While the main CNS diplomats handled the majority of the negotiations with Alpheridies and other planets in the area you were forced to go on a diplomatic trip to the planet yourself. It was...admittedly nerve-wracking returning after all these years given that your parents were still a part of the Luka Sene. Thankfully they didn't show up during your trip; you're honestly not certain if they'd even recognize you after everything that's happened.

It's for the best. You and them were never that close anyway.

The negotiations themselves were unremarkable, as the planetary government was more than willing to join the CNS to ensure that they would be protected from the rest of the war.

Reward: Alpheridies and nearby systems join the CNS

[X] CNS Recruitment: There are a number of systems nearby that don't particularly lean one way or the other in the war; maybe you could persuade them to join the CNS instead? Chance of Success: 80% Reward: Selected planet and nearby systems join the CNS
-[X] Dathomir: Ventress' homeworld and a isolated planet at that; your efforts would be more focused on the systems around it.

Rolled: 98 + 10 = 108 (Over 100 Success)

Not only did Satine end up pulling overtime in this region, but you had an unexpected detour on the way to Vectivus' Home. (To be continued in The Journey Home)

Stewardship:

[X] Hey, Trade Federation!
-[X] PR-1

Rolled: 90 + 15 = 105 (Over 100 Success)

When PR-1 told the TF official he was asking about potential trade route access he was promptly told that Nute Gunray wanted to speak with Ciaran himself.

The greedy Nemoidian after the usual brown-nosing declared that after everything the Abyss Watchers had done for him (read: kept him out of jail) it was only fair that he did everything in his power to help them in this time of economic crisis. As such, he quickly worked out a deal that was not only finished faster than expected but also brought slightly more profit back than you initially anticipated.

Reward: Income penalty decrease by 15% this turn

[X] War-Ravaged Recovery: The survivors of war-torn worlds don't usually thrive in the midst of the devastation wrecked on them. Chance of Success: 60% Cost: 100 Upkeep: 20 Reward: Income penalty reduced by 5%
-[X] 5 Watcher Teams

Rolled: 73 + 15 = 88 (Success)

As usual, your humanitarian efforts to embattled systems was incredibly popular in the galactic media, hailing you with the usual titles, benevolent, magnanimous and so on.

What's important is that these efforts allowed you the chance to rebuild some of your own trade routes that have been affected by the war.

Reward: Income penalty reduced by 5%

Income penalty fully negated!

Intrigue:

[X] The Hunt For A Madman: Now that you have a name for the one responsible for the synthetic virus outbreaks, you can begin hunting him down. Send out your agents and figure out everything you can about Wesker before he returns with yet another virus. Chance of Success: 50% Cost: 100 Reward: Wesker located
-[X] Silas Cata
-[X] The Silencer

Rolled: 7, Reroll: 69 + 36 = 105 (Over 100 Success)

At first the duo had little success tracking Wesker down. Then Silas came back from his genemod session feeling better than ever and worked overtime to find this mad scientist. (To be continued in Oroboros)

[X] The Golden Tempter: Seti Ashgad has recently disappeared and it's blatantly obvious from the reports that it was because he was opposing Palpatine. While the odds are that he's very dead, having evidence against the Supreme Chancellor for corruption would definitely be worth the effort of finding him, or more likely his corpse. Chance of Success: 40% Cost: 100 Reward: Fate of Seti Ashgad determined
-[X] Personal Attention

Rolled: 67 + 57 = 124 (Super Critical Success)

Force using crystals that cause massive Force storms if you use any powers around them, a Jedi Hutt...the planet you tracked Ashgad to is weeeeeiiiiiirrrrrdddd. But he was alive, amazingly... (To be continued in The Exiled Tempter)

Lore:

[X] Homecoming Trip: Vectivus' holocron mentioned that his journey into Sith teachings began when he discovered that one of his asteroid holdings was suffused with the Dark Side, and that he later came back and converted it into a personal mansion to continue his research. Given how much your and Ventress' Force studies have benefited from his knowledge it might be worth trying to locate it and see if there is anything still there. Chance of Success: 60% Cost 50 Reward: ???
-[X] Asajj Ventress
-[X] Omake by Teron
-[X] Omake by Echo 101

Rolled: 31 + 17 + 10 + 10 = 68 (Success)

You've learned so much from Vectivus...it's about time you went to where it all began for him. (To be continued in The Journey Home)

Learning:

[X] Under The Knife: The Arkanians are now able and very willing to begin genemodding on new volunteers at your facilities should they ask for it. Chance of Success: 70% Cost: 100 Reward: Selected Hero Unit genemodded
-[X] Choose 1 Hero Unit:
--[X] Silas: Is actually eager to be modded given that it would set back his age at least a little bit.
-[X] Choose 1 Genemod:
--[X] Pau'an: Natives of Utapau, they can see well in darkness but their most notable trait is their extremely long lifespans. The Arkanians have noted that this genemod will extend a recipient's life span considerably more than a normal mod, though the exact numbers are currently unknown. (Intrigue, enhanced lifespan)

Rolled: 30 + 20 = 50 (Success)

The Arkanians weren't exactly surprised by your and Silas' choice of genemod; in fact it was why they went out of their way to recover Pau'an samples in the first place to an extent.

At any rate, Silas walked into the lab looking as though the years were finally beginning to take their toll on the old scoundrel.

When he walked back out, he was as lively as you remember him from your childhood; still noticeably old but it was clear from the way he looked and the physical reports that the Pau'an mod had done a considerable amount of good. According to the Arkanians who worked on him his body was biologically set back to about his 60s, meaning he has another two decades added on to his lifespan.

You tried to ignore how he had gotten noticeably taller than you thanks to the mod and the fact that he started to tease you over it relentlessly.

Reward: Silas genemodded with Pau'an DNA

[X] Research Inhibitor Chips: Highly encrypted, extremely advanced, and definitely dangerous, the inhibitor chips you recovered from Kamino are one of the biggest mysteries in the entire war. It's an important project, but it will take a considerable amount of time and effort to break through engineering like this. Chance of Success: 50% Cost: 150 Reward: Learn details about inhibitor chips (2 Turns Remaining, 1 Turn Lock Remaining)

So close...just a bit more time and you'll finally be able to figure out what these chips are really for.

(1 Turn Remaining, Lock removed)

Personal:

[X] Force Training: At this point from what you can tell your own personal training isn't going to be enough if you really want to get better at Force manipulation. You're either going to need outside help or in-depth recordings to really get anywhere new. Chance of Success: 70%
-[X] Luka Sene (Enhanced Combat Perception): While the energy field perception of the Luka Sene isn't really that valuable to you, their notes on making your Force vision more effective in combat are certainly worth looking into. Reward: Lore Increase, Enhanced Combat Perception Learned

Rolled: 44 (Success)

It took some time and effort, but between the records you had from the Luka Sene allowed you to push your Force vision to new degrees during combat. With Tyro's help, you sparred against some of his students familiar with Blazing Chain techniques, using their powers to send practice rounds at you from almost every direction. It was honestly exhilarating when you finally began to master the technique and started deflecting bolts left and right almost effortlessly. And it would certainly come in handy in the future...

Reward: Ciaran learns Enhanced Combat Perception

[X] Cheriss Sair: A New Body: Now that Cheriss' actual identity has been revealed and no one seems to be too concerned about the robotic Torguta running around Cheriss has floated the idea of constructing a more efficient, reliable, and less "squishy" body (in her own words).

Rolled: 23 + 38 = 61 (Success)

Cheriss' new body is more noticeably robotic than her "disguise" was, not even bothering to hide the fact that it has a skin of durasteel, though it does still vaguely resemble a Torguta. When you asked, Cheriss said that she had grown to like the look, though she quickly pointed out that she was still keeping her other body around for socializing outside of the Watchers.

More importantly is the fact that she decided to test the idea of creating materials that would be more conductive to Force influence, which would be based on her own Shard makeup as well as that of the newly discovered Tsils. The idea was that it would give the new body increased responsiveness as Cheriss could treat it as part of "herself," as well as potentially amplifying her Force power. While her idea proved to be effective with her own body Cheriss ran out of budget before she could look into other potential applications any further. Despite that, she's been insistent that there's more that can be done with the concept given time and funding.

Rewards: Cheriss gains Experimental Frame trait, potential for technology focused on Force-users discovered

[X] Thrawn: Return of the Mand'alor: After observing your recent efforts on Mandalore, Thrawn has come to the conclusion that while your actions have been effective thus far your current methods won't be enough to galvanize the Mandalorian warriors into a more proactive state and therefore able to be recruited by you.
-[X] Omake by Teron
-[X] Omake by Publicola

Rolled: 76 + 29 + 10 + 10 = 125 (Super Critical Success)

You're not entirely sure what Thrawn said or did but the results... (To be continued in The Resurgent)

Asajj Ventress will be spending this quarter focusing on learning the Buried Presence technique from Tyro. Free Action.

Tyro's pleased to report that Asajj didn't hurt him at all during the training and that she has mastered the Buried Presence technique. When you asked why he was worried he pointed out the dents on the walls left by some of the apprentices she slammed into them during her first weeks in the Watchers. Reward: Asajj learns Buried Presence

Castell: You've had some good dealings with the Commerce Guild in the past, and you've located a plot on Castell that you might be able to build up into a decent trading facility. Cost: 100 Reward: Facility on Castell

With the recent successes in getting your finances back on track, having this new facility on Castell should allow you to begin making even more money. Reward: Facility on Castell

Munnilist: The IGBC has generously put aside a mansion for you on Munnilist, and the fact that they have suffered from some damage from the war is completely irrelevant to the fact that the price has noticeably decreased... Cost: 100 Reward: Mansion on Munnilist

Once you saw your new property you realized why it was sold on the cheap as the area it was in and the planet itself were rather...ragged. You at least spruced up the place with some of the extra money on hand, though. Reward: Mansion on Munnilist

[X] CNS Embassy: While it's true that the CNS is certainly in contact with the Republic there isn't anything official that represents that quite yet. Establishing a proper embassy would not only improve credibility but the new staff would make diplomatic efforts far easier. Cost: 150 Upkeep: 75 Reward: Additional diplomacy action (CNS-related actions only)

The builders on Coruscant were astounded at how quickly you were able to produce the materials needed for this. They don't need to know how you got them from various Black Sun bases, after all the blood was washed out a long time ago. Reward: Additional diplomacy action (CNS-related actions only)

[X] Security Company: It's certainly been some time since you've left the Coruscant Underworld but it pays to return to your roots at time. Like say, creating a security company to legitimize protection fees! Shouldn't be too hard for you to get that running. Cost: 25 Reward: 5 Income (Protection Money)

It's been so long since you've left but establishing a security company to legitimize the need for protection money takes you back. And then you're reminded of how great everything's been since you left. Reward: 5 Income (Protection Money)

[X] System Defenses: Whether it might be some random scout or an entire battlefleet, but it would be reassuring to know that the system has some way to protect itself from intruders. Cost: 150 Upkeep: 50 (1 turn remaining) Reward: Kiln protected against intrusion

With the war going on, you've made sure to fortify Kiln as best you can. And so you have.

Listening posts have been spread throughout the system, scanning the system for potential intruders. Defense stations have been placed in orbit, ready to defend Lordran against any potential foes. The planet is now shielded with a generator hidden away on the planet. Hangars have been built to contain the fighters that would hold off enemies from approach. And of course, there are plenty of defenses on the ground itself should they get that far.

If the war comes to your doorstep, Kiln will be ready for it.

Reward: Kiln protected against intrusion

[X] Defense Grid: Nar Shaddaa is practically lawless, and if you want to make absolutely sure that your property stays safe you're going to need to protect it by force. Cost: 50 Reward: Defenses for property established

Given that the newly installed grid caught at least 5 different attempted thefts, you definitely needed this. Reward: Defenses for Nar Shaddaa property established

[X] Casino: If there's one thing about Nar Shaddaa it's that you can find many different ways to lose all of your credits there. Why not get in on that action with your own casino? Cost: 100 Reward: +50 Casino Income

The newly-opened "Orb of Phantasticora" turned out to be very popular on Nar Shaddaa, although it probably helped that the Hutts were willing to do some free advertising for you.

As for the name itself, you figured since casinos are more often than not legalized theft that you would name it after something you stole yourself way back when. But then, who would know?

Reward: +50 Casino Income

3 Watcher Teams died to bring you this update.

AN: Well a lot of interesting things happened this turn, though naturally the most exiting things I've saved for the interludes. Anyway, rejoice at the new traits and money while I plan the really fun stuff.

Ciaran's Relatives (Canon Info)
Ciarans Relatives

Silas Cata - Grandfather

Nothing needs to be said about this old scoundrel.

Jisela Parsa - Grandmother (deceased)
A Miralukan woman and a rather unusuall Miralukan. Was a instructor of the Luka Sene. Encountered Silas when she was traveling through the Core Regions and they quickly ended up being an odd couple. Died shortly after the birth of her son due to severe illness, leaving Silas very depressed and causing him to quickly leave after arranging for his son to be taken care off by someone else and leaving behind A LOT of credits for him.

Jasper Parsa - Father
Half-Miralukan and son of Silas. Lived quite comfortably due to the credits Silas left behind and became a Luka Sene Scholar. Only rarely encountered Silas and they never got along. Quickly disliked his daughter taking after Silas and being very resistant to any attempt correct that. Oblivious to the fact that the great Lady Ciaran and his daughter are one of the same since she disappeared a long time ago.

Eevy Varn - Mother
Miraluka and wife of Jasper Parsa. Scholar of the Luka Sene. Quite similiar to her husband which includes the heavy dislike of Silas and the fact that Ciaran quickly took after him instead of either of her parents. Also oblivious to the fact that the Lady Ciaran and her daughter are one and the same since she disappeared a long time ago.

No siblings

Various Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, whatever:

Two Examples:

Larana Shayal

Part-Human Twi'lek trader from the Outer Rim. Daughter of one of Silas other children. Relatively successfull trader (in part due to a lot of money her parents got from Silas) and a complete sweetheart. The war ruined her business, she ended up in debt and it ended up being a Hutt who decided to collect the debt. Slavery ensued... and a message is trying to get to Silas who will probably snap.

Galvin Thorn
Part-Human Zeltron. Son of one of Silas other children. Ruthless mercenary and thrillseeker. He too lived a comfortable live thanks to Silas, but the Zeltrons typical love for excitement went to his head... and he loves combat. Also wants to kill Silas just for laughs.

(So... more or less various people of various species in all possible walks of life and in all possible situations.)

(Omake) Yorvi the Hutt's Terrible Day (Canon)
Yorvi the Hutt and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day

Yorvi the Hutt didn't have many pleasures in life. He had set up shop so many years ago based on one thing only, which planets in Hutt space were not already occupied by a Hutt. By searching for his domain in such a way, a young Yorvi had hoped to establish a monopoly, becoming feared and respected as the only local representation of the Hutts. Using the respect such a position would get him, Yorvi would live in a great palace, attended by beautiful slaves, and dine only on the finest Ubuuga caviar. And so, full of hopes and dreams, he had set off for the planet of Riileb.

Unfortunately for Yorvi, there was a very good reason that there were no other Hutts on Riileb. As it turned out, the natives had put up a fight when the Hutts first found Riileb, and Yorvi's ancestors had passed them over for easier prey. As a result, Riileb had never actually been conquered, and was only a part of Hutt Space because everything around Riileb was Hutt Space. Meaning all the gravitas Yorvi was meant to have a Hutt had no weight whatsoever.

To make matters worse, the climate of Riileb was miserable. Hot and muggy, Yorvi often doubted he'd be comfortable even if he did have a luxurious palace. Which he didn't, because making money was downright impossible on Riileb. The planet had plenty of rare commodities to be shipped offworld, but nobody gave a rat's ass about Riileb, so nobody knew that they wanted these rare commodities.

Still, Yorvi had managed to keep something approximating trade alive out of sheer force of will. Calling in traders to deliver offworld goods was simple, since even if no one in the galaxy had ever heard of "Yorvi", the title of "the Hutt" got people flocking to serve him. As it should. And once they got to the backwater nowhere that was Riileb, they needed something to put on their ships for the trip back. And many were surprised to find Yorvi the Hutt with an abundance of heklu, whose meat went for a pretty penny in the Core Worlds.

So while Yorvi was a below average crime lord, he was an average businessman. Perhaps his biggest stroke of luck had come when the CIS had raided one of his shipments of general foodstuffs. It was honestly too cheap for Yorvi to ever bother with, but offworld foods were adored by the locals. It was a stupidly cheap way to acquire more heklu than he knew what to do with to be honest.

But when a ship came in damaged so heavily it couldn't take off again and with all its cargo having been confiscated by Separatists who had thought it food for humanitarian purposes, the result was one Twilek trader who was stranded on Riileb and up to her eyeballs in debt with both Yorvi, who had paid in advance, and the company she had purchased the food from in the first place. Yorvi had been blessed with the good fortune of overhearing her shouting match with that very same company on the matter of her debts.

Acting quickly, Yorvi had contacted the company and bought her debt. The company had been glad to wash their hands of the situation, and Yorvi could check one item off his bucket list. Because debt to a Hutt could only mean one of two things: the invention of a new form of execution or enslavement. Since Yorvi was short on exotic death machines, he had to settle for the acquisition of a beautiful Twilek woman.

Of course, the reality of owning a slave was far less glamorous than Yorvi had imagined it in his youth. Because the Riileb thought him a joke and a minority of his business transactions occurred in his home, there was never an appropriate occasion to show off his sexy Twilek slave, and she wound up functioning more as an unpaid secretary. An unpaid secretary in a distractingly sexy outfit, but still.

Then Yorvi got the missive. Directly from the Hutt Council. Lady Ciaran is sending an envoy. Expect him within the week. Be prepared. It was short and foreboding, but Yorvi's imagination ran wild and blinded him to any potential dangers. Even a heklu merchant in the middle of bumfuck nowhere knew of Lady Ciaran. Every endeavor she touched turned to gold. If she were interested in Riileb, this could be the chance he needed to make the other aspects of his dream come true. If all went well he'd be in the lap of luxury by the end of the year!

With only a week left, Yorvi frantically went about preparing. Fancy foods were ordered on rush delivery. His humble office received a complete remodel, and while his coffers wept, he now had something approaching an audience chamber. He dipped into his ever shrinking funds to hire some of the Riilebs who didn't think him a joke as mercenary guards for the occasion. His unpaid secretary would finally have a chance to actually serve the primary purpose of a slave, and so Yorvi purchased an extra sexy outfit, and took to carrying her chains in his hands so as not to look awkward with them when it mattered.

When the ship emblazoned with the insignia of the Abyss Watchers landed on Riileb, Yorvi the Hutt practically squealed with excitement from behind the security monitor. The old human who emerged walked forward confidently, barely slowing as two Riilebs made to lead him to Yorvi. If the Hutt had been paying attention, he'd have noticed the Riilebs' ability to sense emotions guiding them to give the visitor a wide berth. It would have also helped to be aware of this ability the natives possessed.

Stowing the security monitor, Yorvi posed importantly and waited. After a minute or two, the door opened, and in strode the old human. If Yorvi had to guess he'd put the man at around 70 years old, which likely meant he was skilled in the art of diplomacy. Lady Ciaran must be serious about wanting some heklu.

At the sight of the man however, his slave started to talk. Yorvi almost panicked, but kept a calm façade as he jerked on the chain around her neck to shut her up and prevent any embarrassment as a result of her speaking out of line. Slaves were meant to be seen, not heard. Unless they were singers, but Yorvi's slave didn't have any skills outside of being a trader it would seem, so that was a moot point.

Yorvi's daydreams about his imminent deal with Lady Ciaran bringing him the wealth needed to acquire some decent slaves were interrupted by the blaster bolt that shot his left hand, causing him to drop the chains to his slave.

"OW!" shout Yorvi, waving his hand in a futile attempt to numb the pain. Pain only compounded by the blaster handle that impacted his face moments later. Yorvi whimpered as the blaster was flipped back around and pointed menacingly between his eyes.

"Ciaran only let me do this personally on the condition that I not jeopardize our standing with the Hutts by killing you. Personally I don't think the Hutts would care." growled the terrifying human only inches from Yorvi's face. "I'm taking my granddaughter. If you have any sense of self preservation, you'll stay on this backwater planet and keep selling heklu until you die."

With that, the old human turned, shot off the chain around his slave's neck, and then left with her. Tears welling in his eyes, Yorvi used his uninjured hand to open a file in his system labelled "Goals", hesitated a moment, then unchecked the second of three boxes.

AN: I felt inspired, and thus created Yorvi, a Hutt whose terrible decisions are eclipsed only by his rotten luck. The kind of Hutt Silas can shoot without anyone caring overmuch. Probably non-canon, since I imagine rescuing Larana will be its own action in the future, and million other reasons, but I had fun writing about Yorvi.

Interlude - The Resurgent
Contrary to what the Mandalorians would later say, there was nothing particularly special about the day that Thrawn visited Jango's "home" on the Outland Transit Station. That being said, it was clear to everyone who saw the Chiss that day that he was a man on a mission as he quickly moved through the station, the crowds around him parting as he moved as though fearful of interrupting him.

In spite of all of this, no one heard what the man ever said to Jango Fett that day as he spoke with him in private. The Mandalorians would later say that Thrawn channeled the wills of the past Mandalores when he spoke with Jango. Those who knew Thrawn well would later say that he used the history and culture of the Mandalorians in his argument, demonstrating the need for a new leader in this age.

But the fact of the matter is that no one else was in the room where it happened. And neither man ever spoke about what was said in it.

What was clear is that shortly afterwards, Jango left Outland Station and set the Slave I on a course to Mandalore at the fastest possible speeds, arriving within a matter of days. Not even bothering with hiding his presence, he landed at Sundari's central spaceport to the shock of everyone who saw him land. Ignoring anyone who tried to stop him, he made his way over to the headquarters of the newly formed Guardians, entering the building as though it was his right from the beginning. When someone asked why he was there he ordered the man to gather everyone at once, and he obeyed without question.

A few moments later Jango stood in the middle of the Guardians' training center, surrounded by the warriors of the new generation. When someone had the courage to ask why he was there, he had only one thing to say:

"Because it is my right to be here as Mand'alor."

The room went silent, the gravity of the declaration pressing down on everyone present before a challenger stood up, asking what right Jango had to the title. He simply told the challenger that he would be willing to prove it if anyone was brave enough.

And to their credit a few were; challenging him one at a time, then in groups as Jango proved his words true, easily defeating anyone and everyone who challenged him.

And then, after all the fighting, one last warrior stepped forward and knelt before Jango, uttering one single word.

"Mand'alor."

There was a brief moment of silence, then another voice joined him, then more and more until they were chanting a single word, loud enough that it shook the walls. A chant that would shake the galaxy itself.

"MAND'ALOR! MAND'ALOR! MAND'ALOR!"

Unbeknownst to the crowd hailing the return of a Mand'alor, a man stood behind the doorway leading to the room, feeling the walls shake from the chanting.

Thrawn smiled to himself. And then he quietly walked away, knowing that his part had been played to its conclusion.

--------

Meanwhile in the capital building of Sundari, Satine and Obi-Wan Kenobi were sitting together, blissfully unaware of the galaxy-changing event that was happening just a short distance away. The silence between them was deafening, the two of them trying to figure out what to say. It was truly the textbook definition of "awkward silence."

Eventually Satine decided to break the silence. "So how was your flight here?" she asked, fishing for one of the most neutral questions she could think of.

"It was quite pleasant, actually," Obi-Wan quickly responded, eager to break the silence himself. "I must admit that the embassy ship was much more comfortable than other transports I've been on."

Satine's face started to light up as the conversation started to gain momentum. "Yes, well, I wanted to spare no expense-"

All of a sudden the door to their room suddenly slammed open despite the fact that Satine had made sure to lock it.

"Hellllllllooooooooo~"

The two occupants stared at Ciaran, standing in the doorframe with a horrifying "I'm about to make your life miserable" smile on her face.

"H-How did you get in here!?" Satine shouted. "I made sure to tell the guards that you were never allowed in here!"

"I have my ways."

"How did you even open the door to begin with?" Obi-Wan managed to get out, equally as confused as Satine.

"I have my ways. Oh, and sorry for interrupting your date, normally I'd be really happy that you two are enjoying some alone time together-"

Both Obi-Wan and Satine's faces started to go red.

"Buuut there's kind of a thing I think you to need to know about sooner rather than later," she said as she held up a comm unit, broadcasting the sounds of the warriors chanting. "I want it on record that this was not my fault for once. Honest."

Obi-Wan felt the pit of his stomach drop as he began to digest the implications of what he was hearing, while Satine was making a series of choking noises, incapable of articulating herself.

"So the both of you maaaay want to get over there as soon as possible. Bye now~"

Suddenly, Ciaran dashed away as Satine began to chase after her like a feral beast. Looking around in the hallway to see that she had vanished, Satine turned back to Obi-Wan. "The Guardian's headquarters. Now." Obi-Wan nodded, a grim look on his face as he quickly followed Satine.

-------

As Satine entered the building there was no one to greet her, meaning that she could storm through the building with Obi-Wan hot on her heels. As she burst into the room where everyone was gathered, the warriors went silent as Satine slowly walked towards Jango.

"I don't know what made you decide to come here, but I want to make something very clear," Satine said, her voice echoing through the room as she walked towards Jango, stopping when she was within close distance of him. "So long as I live, I will never let you drag Mandalore into more pointless wars." Obi-Wan said nothing, but made sure that his lightsaber was conspicuously visible to the crowd as Satine spoke.

The tension in the room was palpable before Jango replied. "Then let me make something clear. These young boys and girls have told me that they want nothing more than to be able to protect Mandalore and their own." He pointedly looked at Obi-Wan, then back at Satine. "If you have a problem with that, then you have a problem with me."

"And what guarantee do we have that you won't start another crusade?" Obi-Wan asked as Jango regarded him with curiosity. "It is no secret that Mandalorian warriors and Jedi have had numerous conflicts over the ages, and the Order can't ignore what is happening here."

"...I'll make myself clearer still then," said Jango, turning to face Satine again. "From what I've seen these Mandos are a lot like you, except they want to be able to fight for Mandalore should it need them. They want to honorably serve Mandalore and its people first, isn't that right?" said Jango, turning to search the audience.

"Of course!"
"Yeah!"
"We're Guardians, aren't we?"

Various shouts of affirmation came from the audience as Jango turned back to Satine, who was beginning to slightly relax. "They don't want a war, and both you and I have seen for ourselves what happens when Mandos try to force their beliefs on other Mandos."

Satine nodded grimly. "While that is true, what are you going to do then? You may say that you cannot change their beliefs, but look around."

"Teach them. They're passionate, but I've sparred with enough of them just now to know that they have a lot to learn."

Satine folded her arms. "...While that does sound reasonable, you must understand that I will need to see proof."

Jango nodded but said nothing.

"As such, I hope you will understand when I say that I will require the Guardians to be placed under greater scrutiny until such a time that your words can be proven true. Is that acceptable?"

There was a small amount of grumbling from the audience, but no real objections arose, and for his part Jango simply nodded. "I understand."

"Very well," Satine said, glancing around before turning back to Jango. "We will have a more in-depth talk later." With that, she turned and left, though Obi-Wan stayed behind.

"I meant what I said before. While I do believe that everyone here meant what they said, the Jedi Council simply can't ignore this," Obi-Wan said.

The room went silent again before Jango replied. "...Then tell them what I told her."

"We both know that will likely not be enough."

"In that case tell them this; we don't want to interfere and we don't want another war." Jango moved close enough to Obi-Wan that the rest of the people there couldn't overhear them. "But if they start one themselves, we will be ready."

Obi-Wan didn't flinch. "I will do what I can to ensure that never happens," he calmly replied, causing Jango to tilt his head in confusion before Obi-Wan offered his hand. Jango grasped it, shook once, and then Obi-Wan left the room as the audience began to mutter to themselves, though there was clear a sense of hopefulness among them.

-------

As Jango finally found some time to himself, he sent a message to Thrawn. The Chiss quickly arrived, his lips ever so slightly curled upwards. "Quite impressive work today, Master Fett."

Jango let out a neutral "hmph" before speaking to Thrawn. "You could join them you know. If they knew they would call you Mandalorian in a heartbeat."

"Flattered as I am, I must decline. My work will be taking me elsewhere and I am content to merely be a witness to the history of the Mandalorians from this point onward. Though about my offer..."

"Can't. Too many eyes are going to be on me for a while."

"And after that?"

"...We'll see."

"I suppose that is all I can ask for then," said Thrawn as he turned to leave. "If nothing else, it has truly been a pleasure, Mand'alor."

Results: Jango Fett returns and is declared Mand'alor the Resurgent. A lot of publicity both for good and ill comes from his very public return to Mandalore. Guardians placed under temporarily increased scrutiny until Jango's trustworthiness is verified. Obi-Wan will attempt to ease tensions resulting from Jango's return. Potential for Jango recruitment in the future. Thrawn gains Honorary Mandalorian trait.

AN: And done! Normally this would have come last, but my muse was insistent that this come first and wouldn't let me think of anything else until I did.

First off, credit to Echo101 for inspiring/partly writing the Ciaran Interrupt scene, which fit in here so very well.

After that, I really enjoyed making the first part have this sense of mythical proportions given how popular and public Jango's return is. Speaking of which, as exciting as the return is there's definitely going to be some very intense reactions to a Mandalore becoming prominent again, so have fun with that when the next turn comes around.

Also I thought I needed to clarify what the Guardians were like given how prominent they were here; much like any group that rebels against popular opinion they're made up of a lot of younger New Mandalorians. They still believe in the the ideals of peace that most New Mandalorians ascribe to, but they are passionate enough that they want to be able to protect that peace should the need arise and are more willing to fight for it. Hopefully I can do more with them in the future!

Finally, while I do think that after everything Thrawn did and the giant crit he scored should normally get you Fett, I can't exactly justify Satine letting him do what he pleases...at least for a bit. He'll be around from now on though for obvious reasons.

"Alright, anywhere in particular you want me to drop you off?" said Silas, taking a deep breath now that his assault of the Hutt was finished.

"Don't really have anywhere to go. Coming all the way out here was the dying gasp of my trade business. After so long with Yorvi, I doubt I have any assets left." said Larana, now dressed in some of Silas' spare clothes. They were ill-fitting, but infinitely better than what she had been wearing.

"Well I'm sure Ciaran can find somewhere for you. Family first and all that." said Silas. "Let's head to Coruscant then, and we can hammer out any future plans from there."

"Who's Ciaran, your boss? I didn't take you for the type of person to get a steady job old man." said Larana.

"You shouldn't talk about your cousin like that." Said Silas, taking pleasure in Larana's shock. "Surprised? My descendants are pretty capable, even if they do end up needing me to bail them out of trouble now and again. You're lucky I don't play favorites, because Ciaran would definitely be top of the list if I did."

The laughter was interrupted by the appearance of a larger ship emerging from hyperspace nearby. Silas' eyes widened as he saw the insignia emblazoned on the side. "Son of a bitch, how the hell did he find me‽"

"Who is that?" asked Larana, concerned for her grandfather's safety.

"An old acquaintance. Don't worry, he's only after me. Damn it, there's no way we can outrun him in this thing." Silas crouched down and began removing a panel of the floor. "He's going to board. Don't try to fight him. You're the only person on this ship, and you've never even heard of Silas Cata if he asks, got it?"

"O-okay." stuttered Larana, not used to seeing her grandfather as anything less than unflappable. The sounds of the ship being boarded were ominous, and Larana began taking deep breaths so as not to appear like she was hiding something.

The doors to the bridge opened, and in stepped one of the most ridiculous looking men Larana had ever seen. The man's skin was a bright red, which contrasted with his blue hair and neon green jumpsuit. A jumpsuit that was skintight, half unzipped to expose his chest, and lined with some animal's fur around the sleeves and neck. Which is not to say he wasn't attractive, he somehow was, just that looking at him too long threatened to make her eyes hurt.

"Disappointed you didn't make a break for it old man, even if it would be a futile effort. At least try to make this fun for me." He said, stalking into the room. He was obviously expecting some kind of resistance to his entry, since he had the poise of a cat ready to pounce and was looking at the room down the sights of a blaster.

"Do I look like an old man to you? Get your eyes checked." said Larana, perfectly acting the part of the indignant pilot whose ship had been boarded for no reason. Sadly, she had plenty of experience in this role.

He stopped then, startled by the retort of sarcasm rather than blaster bolts. "Oh. Um… are you the only person aboard this ship?"

"No, there's also an asshole with a blaster and terrible fashion sense, but he's a recent addition." she snarked. Larana was tempted to laugh as he looked triumphant, confused, then angry as her insult finally registered. Then she remembered that he still had a blaster, and resolved to be a tad less sarcastic going forward.

"So you don't know Silas Cata?" he asked, no longer holding his blaster at the ready, opting instead to make Larana incredibly nervous by gesticulating with it.

"Who the fuck is Silas Cata?" she said.

"Old human, bout 80-ish. Bit of a… very much a womanizing scoundrel." Larana wasn't about to sell out her grandfather, but the description was certainly apt.

"Never heard of him. Sorry." she said succinctly.

"Damn it, could have sworn this was his ship. It garbage, but it has enough sentimental value he kept it longer than he probably should have. Didn't think he'd sell it." the bounty hunter mused. Then he seemed to take notice of the Twilek woman in front of him as something other than a source of information. "Name's Galvin Thorn, bounty hunter extraordinaire. So, what say I make this whole thing up to you? You, me, a week on Zeltron. Party capital of the galaxy baby."

It was almost impressive how quickly he shifted from interrogating her to hitting on her. "Sorry, on a bit of a tight schedule. Tighter now that I've had to deal with this. Maybe some other time."

"Ah c'mon baby, don't be like that." he said, holstering his blaster. "Anyone who complains that you're late, I'll deal with 'em myself. And if it's a money thing, the whole week will be my treat. Seven days of pure bliss for free. Pretty sweet deal if I do say so myself."

"For fuck's sakes boy, she's your damn cousin! Show some dignity!" shouted Silas as he burst up from the floor, blaster drawn.

"Son of a bitch! I got you this time old-grrk!" Galvin managed to get his blaster out of its holster before Silas shot him in the chest and he fell to the ground limp.

"It was easier to fit in there when I was shorter." Silas grumbled as he rubbed his neck.

"You shot him." said Larana, staring at the body in shock. "You shot him!"

"Relax, it was set to stun." said Silas, holding the blaster up before putting it back in his holster. "He might have been tracking me for years to kill me for fun, but he's still my grandson. Though he's certainly not getting any credits from me this Life Day. C'mon, help me haul his sorry ass back onto his ship, and get ready to loot anything of value. Just because I don't kill family doesn't mean I won't punish stupid behavior."

Larana numbly picked up Galvin's legs and began carrying him back aboard his own ship. "He ought to be glad I don't play favorites, because he'd definitely be at the bottom of the list if I did."

AN: I felt a little bad not writing anything about Ciaran's other cousin, so I decided to make a sequel in which Silas has to balance his love of his family with the fact that some of his family wants to kill him for shits and giggles.
