Matter of Faith (BTVS / OC)

Known about vampires: Leaders of at least one local gang, usually don't go around in groups of much more than three, are probably all very aware that five of their own have been killed in the same general area, and of course weak to light.

Questions: Vampires are weak to daylight. Is there any sort of artificial light, like a lightbulb meant to simulate sun rays, that can also hurt them? How much damage would half a liter of holy water do to one? Do vampires habitually rest together, or separately, when they are sleeping during sunlight hours? How close does Astral have to be to one to detect it? Does he have to be looking at it?

Anyway. How are we planning on getting more vampire kills.

After killing their investigator. The vamp gang is bound to send more vampires to the party house to investigate. Think we should investigate there again? Or should we patrol other areas. And let the party house area cool down a bit?

The vampires near the party house are probably bound to be much more serious. Since they know something is definitely there now and going there again has a great chance of being a trap.

Consequently, not going there means the chance of us running into another vampire are slimmer. But they might not take us as seriously as the gang vampires.

[]Tell Faith we plan on hitting some more vampires soon.
-[]Ask if she knows any other likely spots, or if she knows where that last vampire gang tends to hang out during the day. Even just the direction they head after parties (North, South, East, or West) could be useful. Have her ask her friends too
--[]Head out in search of their nesting place, if we hit them during the day we should be able to take out the rest
-[]Check in with Jet, Faith and you are a known quality at this point, so he might be able to offer something that would surprise them.

Preliminary plan, what does everyone think?

I like your general idea rogthnor, but I think the lairs could be much harder to find. If they're pretty easy to find, ignore some of what I've written.

And yeah, I think the party house area is too hot right now. Ideally, what we (Faith and us) could do is find, kidnap, and anonymously interrogate a mid-tier gang member about where their bosses' day-time lairs are.

If the lair we find is isolated and we're sure no one else is there, we (inventively) commit arson. If the lair has five or less vampires, we prepare a trap/plan that skews the odds handily in our favor. If sunlight can be easily incorporated into the plan, we can go after more than five vamps.

If the interrogated gang member(s) can't give us a hard location for the lair, we use what information we get from them, Faith, and our general knowledge of vampires to suss out likely places for them to put their lair, and generally do what rogthnor says.

I don't think a paladin committing homicide is dignifying at all though

-_-;
At least it doesn't make us look like that sad, depressed kid who squashed bugs for fun while secretly filling the school air ventilation system with sarin. Beside, homicide is right there in a paladin job's description, right between "thou shall be a stick in the mud" and "thou shall keep a perfect dental hygiene"

Sorry, I am new so can I ask some questions about things that are confusing me?

Mind: 4
Body: 7
Soul: 6

Is that our Natural Stats our does that include the plus 1 to all our base stats that the Paladin Skill gives?

Devotion Aura (Skill) - Increases HP and Ally HP by (Presence/2=[3]) while you are in sight

Half of our presence is four and not three so shouldn't we get four plus health rather than three.
Combat stats:
+34 (+20 trained, +10 Dexterity, +6 Faith Cha), Damage 15 (Divine Hammer 3, 13 Two handed Vitality)
Is the +6 Faith CHA Faith's charisma buffing us while we fight with her and our charisma buffing her while we fight with her? Also our combat stats should at least be +36 instead of +34.

I just want to add that I am enjoying this quest and think you are doing a great job as well but I am just confused about a few things.

That's your natural stats including the +1.

And thank you for catching the errors. I've fixed it to reflect better. And yes, the + CHA is from her. When you fight with Faith you get +6 cha from her, and you give your charisma to her as well. It's sort of a bonus for teamwork and having her as an ally.

Btw, how does that work with multiple allies? Take the best Cha score not yours? Could specific training or long experience fighting as a team increase the Cha modifier?

Best Cha not yours. Teamwork will grant other bonuses. Your actually close to getting an initial bit with Faith soon. Will be a simple combo attack for ease.

Something like: Once per combat, when you hit Faith get's a free attack at the same target.

Say.
Is there any other gang around here which we know about?
Might be useful for try and incite a gang war among the vampires instead of letting them all unite together.

...Unless they're all on the same side?

Man this sounds good.
Hope we'll interact with Faith when next opportunity comes up.

There are two at an uneasy peace right now.

How do we do this though? We aren't what you would call sublte
Well, basic idea...
Thus far, we've attacked only one group (which hasn't been enough to cause any war to break out).
How about we attack the other, make it look like we were led there by Group A?

That should piss them off, get them involved... then we step back, have them wage war and waste resources, and let the heat die down a little.
