Matter of Faith (BTVS / OC)

Fifty+pound of armor when distributed? A high medieval mortal metal forged full plate weight 55 pound on the high end, and 35 pound on the low end, a knight is still agile and can even jump around in that shit. I expect something forged from light by supernatural power to be much better on the weight end, because it doesn't seem to make us invulnerable. What, is this thing 90% lead and rated against nuclear holocaust>
Or, you know, it could be that it's a mideval armor with extra perks added onto it.

[X] Train Vitality to blow off some steam (recover from Stress)
Remember that we still have a week before this quest ends, and that the more vampires we kill the better our reward. If we lower our stress we might have time to go out and hit a few more.

What happens if we rez a recently turned vampire?
People take most of day to turn. You can't res someone dead more than an hour.

Unknown materials.

It's layered though. Outer layer is a solid metal that will flake after enough damage. Secondary layer is a Gel that absorbs impact. Third layer is insulation and padding.

All together the armor breathes enough that you can run in it for a fair amount of time, is waterproof, and has an air filter. It can tank a gunshot and you would just be bruised, deal with a vampire's strength, and deflect blades and other weapons.

This is good armor. Furthermore, some of the weight is deliberate. The extra heaviness keeps you from flying when something supernatural hits you hard, and gives you more leverage against nasties that go bump in the night.

Still seem a little to heavy for something like this, I mean I get the deliberate weight, but wouldn't the gel+padding and insulation should be lighter than metal? I know I'm just nitpicking here, but armor that heavy just irked me a little

I only wanted for it to be neon pink, weightless, and can tank the nuclear appocalyspe, is that too much?

Btw, On Faith's armor. Did we give her armor with some metal bits attached except scaled down for female use.
Or did we dress her in only the cushiony under layer

Edit: Also, Quel'Serrar best paladin 1 hand sword. Go go Sword of the Protector.

Week 6
[X] Socialize with dad and work on the bike
[X] Train Dexterity
+1 Dex, +1 Cha. -1 Stress for the week.

----

School is a bit annoying this week. A cold front's starting to move in, and it looks like Fall's starting to come in earnest. You've been a bit lucky on it being temperate for the past few weeks, but it looks like the temperature's going to start dropping hard. Winter's not fun around these parts, so you're already digging out your snowgear. Fortunately your armor is actually quite well insulated, so you should be fine if you have to go out in it.

The annoyance comes with the cold though. Everyone says you and Faith are a couple. It ranges from you screwing her the entire weekend in a wild party that rocked the party house, to her seducing you for a one night stand, to some absolutely filthy things that you're not going to repeat in fit company. Jet looks incredible amused at your frustrated look, and worse is you can't really leave the school in the damned cold. Or at least not do it and be comfortable.

About the only good thing about the school situation is Faith's more amused by it than anything else. You're not certain what you'd call your relationship with her, but the way she grabs your arm isn't doing the rumor mill any favors.

Your sanctuary during this is your father's workshop. The work there is a bit seasonal, but he gets a surprising amount of it during the fall and winter. Most of the enthusiasts bring the bikes in to get them customized and repaired for when it stops, so you see more than a few bikers lug their bikes in for work.

The parts for your bike aren't in yet, but you can get some knowledge on what's needed by assisting your father on it. You did a bit of it when you were younger, but now you can really start to learn about it. It's also good practice for if you ever need to maintain your own bike actually. Which you're happy about.

"You're mother preferred red." Your father muses as he slowly pulls apart a particularly oily part. "She was tickled pink when you came out with that red hair."

You smile softly. "'Cause I matched her right?"

"She said she loved the color, but I think she was just a bit vain." Your father confides and sighs. "I miss her still."

"I do too." You nod, and look at one of the customers bikes. "Where do you want this one?"

"Think you can lift it up to the rack?" Your father points to a stand that is meant for holding it. "Usually have to wheel and ratchet that down, but considering your muscles."

You shrug and reach down to lift the thing. This particular model is more a scooter than anything else, and while it's heavy you don't have issues with it. "Tiny thing."

"Don't got all biker dudes here. That bike might not be big, but it's good for getting around." Your father finishes with the part and continues. "It takes all types. Your mother and I used to be part of a biker club. More than half of the bikers there were little old ladies with beasts twice their size."

"You're kidding." You look at the small bike and then at one of the larger ones.

"Oh yes, they loved things like that. You couldn't tell by looking at them either. But when they let loose." Your dad shakes his head and laughs as he reaches for a rag. "I remember one time when we rode up next to one of those biker gangs, and one of those ladies just started cussing him out, and then challenged him to a race. You shoulda seen his face when he lost."

You smirk a bit. "I can imagine."

"Heh. When we get those parts in next week, we might be able to get you trying to ride yours." A genuine smile crosses your father's face. "That one's a powerhouse. Custom built for easy learning, but when it gets going it's gonna get going. So I want you learning it right. Also need to get you some riding leathers and a helmet."

You nod and glance back at your mother's gift. You've never really thought of it, but yes, you do want to start to ride that.

You close up with your father, and then get back to your room. There you pick up your book of light, and start to browse it. As you do so, you get a bit of tingling from the light, and close your eyes as you let yourself fall into a trance. There, you get a gentle comfort, and an offer. Not quite a quest, but more a gift for when you want it. You'd have to work for it, but it's something that will both help you, and just be cool.

It's a bit amusing thinking that your patron thinks of something as 'cool.'

Satuday action?

Optional quest!

Task: Find your way to the 'Gentleland Stables'
Hint: It's going to be hard, but not require combat.
Reward: Something cool for your bike!
Time Limit: None. Do it when you want to.

Oh, looks like we have a holy mission we can do with Jet here. :)

As this intel and search thing seems like it would be right up his ally and play to his strengths.

Plus, it would be nice to bond more with our male bud here after all the time we have been hanging with Faith.

Our bike won't be ready for a while yet, not much point getting it early.

In the meantime we can increase our secondary stats such as Charisma by hunting down more vampires. Charisma should help us obtain our prize because the 'Gentleland Stables quest' is non-combat.

Questers, I think w should put off the bike quest for a bit. We should instead focus on getting a few more vampire kills while our primary quest is still active.
