MCU General

I am 99.99999999% sure that, even if Jordan Peele is not directing Blade, Marvel at least called him and asked.

I'm an old school Dr. Strange fan so that's the movie I'm most invested in. I just hope it's not a re-worked version of House of M like some fans are predicting.

Have they announced who's playing Task Master in the Black Widow movie? Because I really want to to be Keanu Reeves. Not only would he give great fight scenes, but if they ever want to bring him back for another movie they wouldn't have to explain why he didn't seem to age.

They will hopefully wait a while for that, otherwise it will clip into the current tantrum over Lady Thor. Which remarkably resembles the same tantrum they had years ago when it happened in the comics.

Phase 4 is meant to piss them off and show how powerless they are. Marvel Studio will be Woke and wont go Broke and I hope Falcon and winter soldier has Zemo leading thinly veiled alt right type groups and being beaten.

As a writer, I can't help but see some potential in that.

Over the course of the movie, Doctor Strange helps Scarlet Witch tap into her true reality-shaping powers, unlocking the full power lying dormant within her and helping her master it. Touch on how much she misses Vision, her brother, and her parents, and wishes so very much she wasn't alone. Then, after some sort of emotional crisis, she uncontrollably unleashes her fully unlocked powers, reshaping the very fabric of reality so that she isn't alone — so that there are others like her.

Enter, the X-Men.

I mean it is called the Multiverse of Madness, introducing the X-men and F4 there would make sense.

I do have to ask where the fuck all the vampires are in the MCU. Like, Blade does the thing where vampires are secretly in control of a lot of society, so does SHIELD know? Did Hydra?

Hell, did Blade ask for Captain America's help and get put on voicemail? :V

Eh, the comic Marvel universe manages to deal with that handily enough. I mean, Blade was a freaking Avenger at one point.

Which, uh, really raises some questions, but it's nothing that can't be swept under the rug.

I admit I actually love situations insane clusterfuck situations like this because I can imagine there being like, dozens of conspiracies trying to control society but since they all have conflicting goals ninety percent of the time they just cancel each other out.

Maybe this time instead of a sapient bacteria that's behind anti-mutant hatred, it will be a vampire conspiracy to distract humans from going after the bloodsuckers.

The right wing are already going mad on social media over Jane Foster becoming female Thor, despite that having happened in the comics. but I hope in Thor 4, Jane and Thor get back together, I liked that pairing in Thor and Thor:The Dark World
So I searched youtube for 'lady thor outrage' and the top result is from usual suspect TheQuartering, titled "Marvel's FAKE Lady Thor Outrage Marketing Strategy", description: "Thor Love and Thunder was announced and nobody REALLY cared about Natalie Portman playing thor but that wouldn't stop twitter from pushing that "

wat.

Oh and the second result says "Far left OUTRAGED Over After Natalie Portman Announced As "Female Thor" Instead of "Thor" (not sure who Timcast is but it seems like he's actually serious.)

You can't make this stuff up.

I'm personally hoping that they go full bore into this and adapt the Thor/Falcon romance subplot. Only, not having names switched or anything like that, and thus have a nice long scene of Chris Hemsworth and Anthony Mackie making out.

Extra points if Hemsworth is still in the fat suit.

The outrage I'm seeing from the right'wing is on social media in comments on the SKy News FB page on the news that Natalie Portman will play female Thor in the upcoming Thor film for example. I haven't seen what the reaction on Youtube is to the news.

And we are also getting "If you don't think this is the best thing ever you are a neckbeard/racist/RUSSIAN BOT!", considering how Jane "unsolicited opinions on israel" thor looks good largely because hydra cap was in the room

I really hope not. I'f I'm going to see a Doctor Strange movie I'd like it to be about a Doctor Strange story, not a half-baked X-Men story.

So, looks like this is going to be something of a breather phase for Marvel. Let the wheels spin for a while, give the world time to heal and adjust, probably plant the seeds for the next big threat. Maybe the Avengers won't have to get back together again, but I bet by the end of it the thing that'll force them to eventually will have been foreshadowed.

I do note there seems to be a lot of magic in the upcoming movies. Weird space magic for Thor and the Eternals, crazy dimensional magic for Dr. Strange, vampire magic for Blade, whatever crazy qi magic Shang Chi and the Mandarin get up to... Black Widow's sort of the odd one out. Wonder if that's setting the stage for the next big villain.

I rather like that pairing as well. And now I hope that Thor 4 ends with Jane going out and doing the heroing, while Thor is the doting stay at home dad. Would be a nice way to include non-traditional gender roles.

Speaking of things I'd like to see: if the movie is really about finding a Queen for Valkyrie, I'd like them to at least visit Darcy Lewis. I mean, she defeated Thor in personal combat while wielding the power of lighting*, if that doesn't qualify you for a chance to become the new Queen of Asgard, I don't know what will. ;)

*Yes, it was a Taser and Thor was depowered, but still :p

I want a Moon Knight movie by David Lynch.

I want Deadpool to show up in the MCU only to explain he actually was always in the MCU, complete with a montage of Deadpool poorly edited into previous movies.
I'd want them to make Deadpool III, with them only explain that that all happened in the MCU now, and showing flashbacks with them poorly editing out X-men with MCU equivalents.

Give me immortal hulk, please marvel.

Are there more then one type of vampire in marvel comics?
