The players voted in a
conversation with Kagome that was interrupted by Hidan, and we never got around to it. In the interest of keeping things moving, we're going to have Kagome answer the questions outside of a chapter.
Has his Rift Sealing Ideas timeline changed since learning MS7?
His plan remains basically same:
- Modify MS8 to latch onto the rift, push chakra into it to open it up infinitesimally, then send a sensor through it to get readings on status of the rift and on the other side. (in theory, this seal would open the rift if used from both sides)
- Depending on those readings and how chakra flows through the rift, design a "channel" that could take a massive chakra flow from the Fox's opened tenketsu and channel it into the rift to forcibly inflate it. (depending on Kagome's prediction on cavitation)
Minato seal displays resemble Naruto's jinchuuriki seal. Investigate if promising. Cross-reference Hazou's Bijuu seal sketches .
On further examination, the seal display and the jinchūriki seal have some qualitative similarities and many qualitative differences. "Investigate if promising" doesn't tell either Hazou or Kagome what they should be investigating.
Does Kagome think they can open it without Naruto tenketsu/Minato notes? How long will it take?
Kagome is certain that they can open it eventually with all the lore and S-rank abilities they have access to. He cannot tell how long it will take. On the next rift trip, he hopes to at least confirm via readings that they haven't opened it yet.
They likely intend to resurrect Pain. Could we perma-kill him/remove his eyes from the equation?
Kagome says that it is relatively easy to approximately perma-kill someone in the Naraka if you can overpower them: simply feed their shadow to an umbral devourer. When they die next, they'll reappear in the umbral devourer's belly and repeatedly be digested. They'll have faded away long before the umbral devourer is done digesting them.
- Hypothetically, we could try converting him to Leaf's side and Uplift, but it seems risky.
- Thoughts?
Kagome has no clue how you would do this.
Kill Sasori, their only route to using the Rift.
- Akatsuki'd likely come after Kagome/Hazou.
Kagome has no clue how you would do this but is absolutely on-board with killing one of those S-rank stinkers. He asks if there are any particular seals that would help in killing them.
Create second Rift back and exit somewhere else.
Enter Rift, collect data to target Naraka, close Rift permanently, open our own.
If it's possible to open a new portal to the Pure Lands and close the current one?
Kagome laughs and tells you that any plan to open a new rift wholesale would be unimaginably unlikely. It would require precisely repeating a sealing failure except under completely different local and astrological conditions.
Move Rift somewhere they'd have trouble accessing/finding it. Leaf? 7th Path? Random cave?
If it's possible to move the rift to a different location?
After some thinking, muttering, and a good bit of complaining about face-eating, skin-melting monsters, Kagome begrudgingly accepts that he doesn't yet know why this would be impossible. According to all evidence so far, the rift is a extremely malformed storage channel. It would be very tough, but it's theoretically possible to move the channel (though it would need to be done carefully to prevent the rift from degrading too much).
Create impenetrable 5SB airtight foil box around Rift, fortified with defenses like Jiraiya's Fire Absorber seals, and stall them out. Call in aid via 7th Path once we exit.
In his expert opinion as a trapmaker and defense specialist, Kagome does not think you will be able to fortify a location against an extended assault by multiple S-rankers, especially without an S-rank sealmaster on your side. He does think that you could perhaps hold out a couple hours.
How to ward against Path drain?
Kagome has no ideas, and doesn't even know if it's possible.
Whether summoning/reverse summoning is possible/safe?
Kagome has no idea, but his intuition is that it would be dangerous to the summon (or summoner, in the case of reverse summoning). The Summon Scroll charts a path between the Human and the Seventh Paths, and there's no reason to think it would work between Naraka and Seventh. He does not want to run experiments, as he suspects any experiment would be immediately lethal.
Does Kagome know any tracking seals?
He does not.
Ask Noburi to look into Tenketsu opening.
Tenketsu are physical points in the chakra system that regulate the flow of chakra through the body, similar to a valve in the cardiovascular system. Noburi tells you that it's not particularly hard to open up a tenketsu. It
is hard to get the chakra to flow out of someone rather than continue moving through their system (now in a disregulated, dangerous way), but it is possible. The
really hard part, in his expert opinion, would be to ensure that the patient survives the surgery. He does not know if it is within his mednin prowess.
