I don't want people to vote for my plan; it's dumb.

MMKII my objection to the Nagi Island part revolves around the unlikelihood Asuma would want anyone poking at it due to international shit.

@Kiba If you add a line about pranking Noburi, I'll vote for your plan. I can provide suggestions, but I'll admit I'm not the pranking type naturally.

You might be able to get around the scene limit by off-scening some of them. I forget if the QMs like it when you do that, I think they've waffled.

[X] An Implosion of Steam

  • Go blow off some steam.
    • Punch/explode some chakra monsters near Konoha. Make it a mission if possible, otherwise go to the Forest of Death to do it.
    • Obviously tell the clan we're doing this, and that we'll back off if things get dangerous.
    • Maybe we can invite Lee and make a competition out of it? Surely chakra monster meat can be worth some food for the Church of Youth to use?
  • Group meeting: Mari, Kagome, Noburi, Akane, Yuno, Haru, Keiko. Security: high.
    • (Confirm with Mari/Keiko whether sharing information about BotG with Yuno is acceptable beforehand.)
    • Introduction:
      • Team Uplift's goal is to dramatically improve the living conditions of everyone in the world. So far, we've been focused on opposing and reshaping our civilization's self-destructive systems. That remains the main priority.
      • But, as several recent events showed, the problem runs deeper: reality itself is fragile. Pain's plan was world-ending. Whatever his intentions were, the fact that a world-altering event on this scale can actually happen is terrifying. For you, it threw into stark relief some of the fundamental truths glimpsed by Sealing.
      • The truth is, deliberate human actions aren't even necessary. Reality is keen on tearing itself apart on its own. The damage from that is often catastrophic, and could be arbitrarily large. Worse still are the things that lurk outside, and occasionally seep through these tears: horrors of unfathomable power and malice, some of which can casually snuff out our entire universe.
      • It's a terrible truth. We're meant to be cowed by it, stuck helpless with fear — the same way we're meant to be resigned to the EN's system of violence. As far as you're concerned, that is merely more of the same: another terrible thing we'll need to eventually fix.
      • And while directly working on it is far above our current pay grade, it doesn't mean we can't gather information.
    • We have a large selection of leads we could pursue, but we should focus on the most salient one: Pain.
      • Points of discussion:
        • Pain/Rinnegan's nature and powers.
        • The ritual's purpose.
        • "The Five, still sealed after a thousand years of sacrifice".
        • The fate of the lost bijuu.
        • The bird summon — an archaeopteryx?
      • Provide Kagome with the detailed description of the ritual site, ask for his analysis.
      • Yuno: Perhaps there's something relevant in Isan's cultural knowledge?
  • Review projects. See where they are at. (Skyslider, aqueduct, sewer, toilet).
  • Timeskip to the end of the contest.

I counted five or four potential scenes. Are you sure this is necessary precondition for your vote? I made the necessary change.

@eaglejarl Does the three scene rule applies.

Normally it wouldn't be a hard yes, because I'm inclined to vote for yours anyway, but since I'm voting in someone else's trust as well for that particular item, it would feel bad to not advocate for it, you know? Plus I can see it being fun to write.

[X] Action Plan: Operation Uplift

Edit: plus some of your scenes feel like they could be off-screen, but don't have to be?

All the yes.

I'm a little sketchy about that because it seems easy to abuse. For this update, we could try it; feel free to put a list at the bottom of the plan saying something like "Things we would like to do offscreen" with a modest number of bullet points for reasonable things. We'll see how it goes. It does still count against the wordcount.

since we probably time skip what does everyone think of adding some changes to the trade agreement? it doesn't even need to have a scene. things like:
could add a koi provision of expected increase of population over time. and if the koi underperform wakahisa gives us healthy koi to make up. but if the koi overbreed than we give the extras back to wakahisa. this will incentivize the wakahisa attendants to increase koi fertility (even though they'll understate the expected growth rates).

I thought the whole point was to involve Forbidden Lore holders? What is the concern with Yuno?

Why do we think it's safe to talk about this with her? This stuff is pretty secret and I am less convinced that Mari catches this than any prepared talk with Asuma.

I mean, Ami did tell us to be careful about their bloodlines and the Five clans and whatever Five are still closed/sealed are likely connected, I just see it as an unnecessary risk.

I take it these things have to be realistically possible as well? So we can't just offscreen Jiraiya's resurrection and marriage to Mari where we all collectively agree not to comment on how this happened so Jiraiya can be back for the chapter after this one?

Asking for a friend who'd like to come back to life as well and show everyone his awesome sword.

Hm. I'm not entirely convinced, but I could modify it so that we check with Keiko instead. Would that work?
