[X] Action Plan: Opening Moves

Work as a team. Have individuals adopt the following as a first approach. Everyone is welcome to add their own suggestions and/or personal flavor. Implement as necessary.
  • Scope out the shrine, make a pilgrimage, and gather info.
    • Make an honest pilgrimage, try to genuinely find out the history of the place and all the accompanying minutiae.
      • Really go all out on the questions. You want to be able to write a ten-foot-long treatise about this place from the information you get.
      • As a part of this, ask after the Porcupine summoner. You heard they were here?
      • Write down all the answers. Make a mental note of interesting bits of information (with respect to the Porcupine Summoner, the scroll, or Hazou's Growing List of Forbidden Lore Data (HGLFLD! for short)).
    • Talk to a wide variety of (hopefully) knowledgable and influential-- monks, religious figures, guards captains, etc. -- people on the above. The more info and perspectives you can get the better.
  • Make a note of other pilgrims. Anyone of interest?
  • After the first day, regroup at camp and share information you've found with each other under the usual OPSEC measures (Air Dome, Earth Dome, etc.)
I'm not sure about asking about the porcupine summoner openly. If it turns out their presence here is public knowledge, sure, but otherwise... I think it'd be best to ask J's contacts this instead.

@MMKII should probably ask J's contacts about people who came to the shrine approximately 20 years ago from sky, moon or star village

[X] Action Plan: Dont Wanna Do This But Do It Right

I'd get in touch with the old spies, just to make sure that his spy network is still moderately-functional. We've received a little bit out spy-training from Mari and that should be enough to meet our spies without breaking their cover.

Would the QMs find utility in attracting more quest participants and or general attention to MFD? @Velorien

Hey, is Kagome actually from Cloud? I remember him being really vague about where he's from and the first time I remember hearing about Kagome being from Cloud is when Team Uplift was being presented to Leaf. Is Kagome being from Cloud just as false as our own cover stories? Because with Kagome being Kagome, I could easily picture his origins being left a permanent mystery (like, maybe his village was erased from memory by way of the Henge, or maybe he's originally from Uzushiogakure but even he can't remember what really happened).

He hiccups every time it's mentioned, and the only time he has ever convincingly denied a conspiracy theory was the Watchers, almost as if he had been conditioned.

Huh. I wonder if the Watchers are the source of Uzushio's vanishing? Whether as punishment or protection? And Kagome's emphatic rejection of their existance could be a Marked for Death version of "There is no war in Ba Sing Sei." Or maybe it's just good old fashion "nope, no need to even think about them, my sweet summer child. They're certainly just myths and you definitely don't have reason to think about them, talk about them, or do anything that might draw their attention to your soft, squishy soul... if they existed, of course. Which they don't." It's the only bluff/lie that Kagome's ever succeeded in telling because it's the only one that mattered the most to him.

Fuck it, my new (outlandish and very likely wrong) idea is that Uzushiogakure was fucking with some dangerous, universe-blending-with-the-Out level of shit and Kagome, outcast that he was, was one of the few who spoke out or tried to resist. The Watchers punted Uzu into its own pocket dimension, locked it, threw away the key, and placed Kagome/others in the wild with a mental "do not do [REDACTED]" along with a "we were never here" stamp. It's this interaction (on top of whatever metaphysically that makes Kagome so... Kagome. Bloodline? Sealing Failure that grounded his soul into the Out?) that allows him to be the Universal Constant that he is. Jiraiya was only allowed to remember the Watchers because he needed to remember the warning. Bio-seal lady was never given a warning because her skill wasn't high enough to tamper with the Outer Veil, even by way of seal failure --and the Watchers don't really care about the mundane world, as long as it's still separate from the Out.

Or maybe Kagome's just an example of what the Watcher's retirement/disability plan looks like?

Yes, he shared that he was originally from Cloud.

Kagome is too young. He's just about the right age to be recruited into Waterfall's sealing schools after Whirlpool's desperate exfiltration.

What, you weren't expecting the GMs to drop a bomb on us when he finished decoding Jiraiya's oldest notes?

I'm not sure what one would do with a Marked for Death Instagram account, so this is best addressed by someone else. @eaglejarl @OliWhail

All else being equal, more participants is always a good thing. We want people to enjoy this thing we have created, whether it be as readers or as players.

We implemented Rihaku's token system. Explain to me again how are we supposed to make money off of that?

Also, how is the token system's going for our finance?

A reverse mortgage is just a loan with collateral in the form of a home or estate. If collateral-backed loans exist, they certainly will. It's just a question of which financial entity has the liquidity to make it happen. This circles back to our fundamental financial question - who prints the money in Leaf, and is it a goods-backed or fiat currency?

Here's something you could do: introduce your own Goketsu (or, better, Goketsu-Ino-Shika-Cho) Clan Script. Clan Script can be redeemed for the equivalent amount of currency from the Goketsu clan at the end of every month, or purchased from said clan at the same time for the same rate. All public auctions of Goketsu Goketsu-Ino-Shika-Cho Clan seals products and services will only accept Goketsu Clan Script of issuance date 1 or more months in the past. Goketsu Clan Script of issuance date more than 1 year in the past will receive a 10% bonus to their effective bid.

List of products that could be included:
-Seals
-Pangolin Deployment Missions
-Toad Deployment Missions
-Yamanaka Counseling
-Nara Hours (if available to the public)
-Naruto Deployment Missions
-Seal Research

Create your own petrodollar. It's not currency, it's internal clan script used to facilitate the easy and secure handling of large quantities of cash, reducing cash storage costs. Your cash profits from seignorage will equal the total amount of Goketsu Clan Script in circulation across all of Leaf. Unless Hidden Leaf has sophisticated financial regulations already in place, they won't even understand that what you're doing is profitable.

OK. My understanding is that we will mint scripts that are cheaper than what it cost to issues ryo? Is that how we make money? Isn't that just costing us money?

Can't storage seals just make cash storage go away?
