To be fair, a good chunk of the answer is "we already did" (Seals are covered by the sealmasters in our group, Hazou has a nasty pair of Pangolin-forged claw gauntlets, and the others fight with jutsu or ranged weapons).

I bet it'd be pretty easy to convince Hana to learn seal calligraphy.

"Hey mom, how would you like to become more powerful and fabulously rich at the same time?"

Seriously, Kurosawa and seals is like a license to print money. It's probably a bit boring, but it's not like it takes all that many hours to produce a lot of them.

Also, does anyone know if the setting has carrier pigeons or other reasonably well trained birds?

We could tie a storage scroll to a bird and easily transport any amount of stuff. Mail, supplies, whatever. As a bonus it'd be hard to intercept unless someone knew specifically to look for it and was willing to devote a lot of manpower to shooting down birds.

Also, I wonder if there are any jutsu that could temporarily put someone into some sort of suspended animation so you could safely stick them in a storage scroll without death being a problem until you pulled them out again. That could be really handy for smuggling people in covert operations or for people who are critically injured and need attention from a better medic-nin than you've got on hand.

I was going to object to Seventh Path transit under the idea that Seventh Path items only appear as chakra constructs (extrapolated from the statements about Pangolins themselves), which suggested to me that the only case of 'item returns physically to Human Path' is a small exception for reverse-summoning for items you personally brought through. It's what I intuitively felt was how it would work, after all.

But then I remembered we got paid in gold and diamonds native to the Seventh Path, and de-reverse-summoned them with no shenanigans. So now I'm thinking that summoning proper is all chakra constructs but reverse summoning gives that idea the middle finger and just takes whatever it wants across dimensions like nobody's business, which means you totally could fill up a Seventh Path warehouse with stuff for another summoner to take out, and any meaningful restrictions you could place on that process would just add middlemen steps.

I would like to suggest an alternative interpretation: maybe only living things need chakra construct bodies on the other side?

Then again, the summoner physically disappears when summoned so maybe that's not the case. (Unless summons also physically disappear from the seventh path when reverse summoned instead of just fainting or something, but I don't think that's been established one way or another.)

How likely is it there are sealmasters who are willing to sell us anything that'll notably improve on Jiraiya's arsenal? I mean, agreed that it seems like it might be worth asking about (maybe do a trade, seal-for-seal?), but odds aren't great.
Being able to get your hands on one of Jiraiya's seals (plus possibly research notes to make learning it easier) would probably be a pretty huge incentive for any sealmaster that is actually interested in sealing research, which is pretty much anyone that has a seal that we want.
In my opinion, the bigger problem is making sure that we trade them seals that are both acceptable to break opsec on, yet still good enough for a sealmaster to want.

I like the idea of cornering/creating a market from/on the 7th path.

You know, that could be a very good way to bring our second summon clan (when we find a scroll) into the loop. We can't give them 5SB platform on our word with the Pangolin, but if we instead gave them a portion of the profit margins (in whatever form of payment they'd like)...

But that means more paint, which screws with aerodynamics and reduces potential payload.
Funny story: You know why FedEx planes are purple? The paint is very slightly lighter than other colors and therefore the planes have better gas mileage.

Note that a real-world problem with carrier pigeons is that they get eaten by raptors.

So then you're saying we can take care of the raptor problem by sending out carrier pigeons with explosive seals?

True, having a storage scroll full of valuable stuff wind up in a forest somewhere after the pigeon got eaten would be a bummer. It'd be better if we could use trained predator birds.

Now THATS some good thinking!

You are filled with awesome.

EDIT: Do you know what happened to them?
Happy to help, and kinda embarrassed I forgot to do it sooner since I put two of them up in the first place, heh.

I don't remember, sorry. I think there was a forum glitch, but I honestly wasn't paying much attention when the reason was brought up on discord. If you're interested, I could ask?

Best Summon
Hey all! This is my second time catching up with the quest (last time was in the middle of the alcohol misterator shenanigans, yikes!) and I'm still enamoured with what you've built here. So! I commissioned my lovely artist friend to draw......
I hope you like it!
Her work can be found at @magichuenicorn on Twitter, or SoyBee Art over on Facebook

This quest got me to finally stop lurking and make an account, so I could post this, and hopefully vote and gives likes and such to the updates and plans coming up! Let's see where this wild ride takes us.

Ahaha thanks @Cariyaga ! As a Legitimate Coincidence, here's my vote for

[X] Action Plan: Girls, Goals, and Shadow Clones

Are there training plans yet, or are we saving those for the next vote?

I'm not sure. I mean yes, there are training votes up: One for the godstat of Awareness for everyone (referred to as such because it's used in defense against genjutsu and traps, and as the sole determiner of initiative in a setting that's very rocket tag-y), and one for training nothing in anticipation of potential jutsu -- including Shadow Clone which it's possible we could use for training in combination with Noburi to drain chakra beasts for us -- that Jiraiya could provide.

Usually, Velorien's closed the vote by now. Is everything okay, @Velorien?

No worries. I'm slightly curious, but I assume the answer is just "there was a bug and some records in the DB and/or front-end cache got lost".
