I'm alright with asking for LBF/implosion seals, but am not OK with asking Akane for her seal loadout. The entire fucking point was to give her those seals, and asking for them back, even temporarily, only reinforces her opinion of us treating her as a resource. Even if it's Keiko or Noburi doing it: Akane would suspect, and rightly so, that Hazou asked them to do it.

I can do this, yeah.

Sweet. Adding.
Fair enough. Lets not prove her right about us.

Thanks!

@faflec, could you include 5SB on the list of seals? I don't think it counts as abusing OOC knowledge, since any event that might involve defending a building would benefit from 5sb. If it helps, the post where I talk about sinking and flooding the other forts was written before I had the OOC knowledge.

Man, fuck Akane. It's not like we will ever win her back, and even if we could we shouldn't; from both a rationalist munchkin perspective and a Hazou happiness perspective. Who cares if we make her feel like we're treating her as a resource? She is a resource.

J bought like a few bags of them off the man himself for the Battle of the Gods.

We could rephrase "Any spare Kagome Seals"?

So that it's more IC

The point of releasing the event information like that was so that we could have a plan for the event ready for eaglejarl's update so he could write punching, right? If so, our plans should cover more than the preparation for the event.

I don't see how that would work?

We can't IC plan for something that hasn't happened yet. Hazou doesn't know the rules yet.

ALSO if we do, this plan is going to be MASSIVE and we have less than 24 hours to do it with the new info.

The point Akane was making was that we treat everyone like a resource. And reality aside, the fact is that we aren't going to be able to Uplift the world if we keep doing that. So why not do it now, when the effective costs (minus some seals that we could easily make in the next ~24hr or so) are so little?

We know that because the QMs let us see that. Jiraiya knows it. Kagome knows it. Does Hazou know it? I don't think so. We have no reason to believe Kagome gave any of his seals to Jiraiya, except maybe Skywalkers. Which are another level of no-no.

  • Sleep in shifts, maintain security, get to the event on time.
  • EVERYONE makes predictions on what the event could be and plans based on those predictions. This is to help with Keiko's leadership problem.

  • Hazou makes extra seals: Banshee Slayers, Tunneler's Friend, Usamatsu's Glorious Life-Saving Preservers, explosives, Goo Bombs+LBF+5SB (for Jiraiya to infuse), macerators (OPSEC concern?)...
    • Basically he makes extras of anything he thinks might be useful in a combat/infiltration mission with multiple different teams working together.
  • Keiko goes to the Summoning Realm and gives her contracted Pangolins a sitrep on the upcoming Event (or what she knows of it).
    • Give Jiraiya possible seals to infuse.

  • Noburi: Go shopping.
    • Try to find some nonlethal poisons that can work via physical contact or can be spread via macerator.
    • Buy some extra lockboxes, put in storage seals, bring to Event. Try to match Team Kurenai's description of the lockboxes they saw, if possible.
    • Make extra copies of dossiers, possibly distribute to all teams.

Implosion seals are quite lethal outside of training ones, which I don't think are more valuable than training explosives for that purpose.

@faflec, we should ask DQed Leaf teams to donate some chakra to Noburi so he and everyone else has a full tank.

This is to help with Keiko's leadership problem.

This isn't strictly necessary to be in the plan. Hazou would probably blurt it out anyways, so probably not a good idea.

Make extra copies of dossiers, possibly distribute to all teams.

I'd rather we not do this. It's a waste of time, and if we didn't piss anyone off simply because we didn't get caught, then we're adding risk.

FOLKS! Reminder - we still need to plan for before we get the rules IC. Default is... bland. And there's definitely more we can do.

Suggestions:
1. Nakano Ryouichi - Bring him on board as an ally for Team Uplift. Ask him if he's willing to prioritize helping us over trying to get himself to the exam, including sabotaging his own side. Promise to put in a good word with Jiraiya (good for his career), and promise to make him a good seal loadout after the event (monetary compensation).
2. Hazou makes some LSB and other blanks that are needed and have Jiraiya infuse them during the next checkin.
3. ASK Akane if she's willing to loan us some of her seal loadout. Make it clear they're her seals, and that she has the right to refuse. Seals will be paid back.
4. I have thought of a no/low-risk ambush plan. If DQed Leaf contestants are willing to provide chakra, Keiko can summon a Pangolin or two ~6 hours before the event starts, and we can send them into possible routes around the meeting area to ambush some people. Maybe have the pangolins focus on trying to track down one or two teams in particular?

ALSO, do we make any agreements with the other members of STL? For instance, if we end up on opposite sides in the same event grouping, what is our strategy?

The lockbox is too big to carry around. We can't put it in a storage scroll either - also too big for that.

Not too big for a big Pangolin to carry around though

If we have them on hand we can decide during the event whether or not to do this.

Why do you think this will be a waste of time? We have 24 hours.

This presumes a Pangolin would be willing to carry one around for six hours. And said pangolin would need to be resummoned after those six hours.

If we have them on hand we can decide during the event whether or not to do this.

Why do you think this will be a waste of time? We have 24 hours.

It's time that could be used for other things. Making seal blanks, talking with people from the minor villages and building rapport, etc.

And we don't need copies if we're going to share with teams we're part of - we'll simply have the originals on hand and can show them during the prep period. (@faflec)

(For reference, eaglejarl wanted to start the event this update anyways, and was only balked by the fact that we couldn't plan for the event like we ordinarily would. Now we have all the details so we can make our plan for the event)

@OliWhail @eaglejarl @Velorien
Mist is a major hidden village, so surely there are apothecaries and or supply stores around that stock up on various poisons or drugs that mednin need to use, right?
You have a decent working knowledge of Mist apothecaries, and can get anything a civilian doctor would use. More advanced chemicals only used by medic-nin are not impossible, but less likely to be available from civilian shops.

Missed this edit, sorry. I honestly am not sure about this. @eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail Does Hazou think a Team Goketsu-only ambush would trigger the proctors to act against us (read: DQ us)? Is there a chance we can ask Keiko/Noburi/STL these questions before we make our plan; and if so, what is their response?
Probably not unless you inflict excessive injuries or otherwise give them a good excuse to be unfair to you.

@eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail What happens if the building is destroyed? Does Blue team get massive point penalties by default, since the key/documents are technically no longer inside the building?
HDK.

@eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail Since we know (or expect to know) that we'd be fighting with other people (not in Team Goketsu) would it be too OOC for us to have spent time making Banshee Slayers?
Making overpowered weapons for no particular reason in Hazō's spare time? Out of character? Ahhahahahahaha. (My phone has an autocorrect entry for "ahhahahahahaha". This is the life I dreamt of as a kid.)

What IV said. If we don't plan for the event, then that's very poor play on our part, because we have information for planning we otherwise wouldn't.

I knew our characterization of him would come in handy!

Grumble grumble grumble. @Oneiros , I'm leaning more and more towards total slaughter. If you could please add some contingency that says something along the lines of "prioritize disengagement if ever facing enemy groups larger than 3 ninja" or something similar there's a very good chance I'll throw in my vote.

I express concern with this. Giving too much chakra (>5%) gives us Consequences, and the chakra bleeds out over hours anyway. I dunno what rate that is, but still.

Still adding, just voicing my hesitation over its value.

This is...pretty true. Deleting.

I notice @MMKII disagrees so I'm going to leave it in and ask other potential voters their opinion.

You misunderstand my intent.

Round 1:

If we are BLUE and Mist stacks RED with people from the dossier then we distribute the dossier to EVERY blue team, via courier in the 2 hour prep time. We do this so that BLUE has an aspect advantage over RED, so the top scorers have to bleed harder for any potential victory.

We won't be able to just go up and chitchat with them necessarily as we please, they're at different towers.

Likewise if we are RED and Mist stacks BLUE, we won't have time to debrief ALL Red teams to give them an aspect bonus.

I still think it's a horribly unnecessary risk to ourselves. Pangolin only ambushes would be better. And that's provided it's even to our benefit to remove other players before the event, which is uncertain.

Note - other teams are incentivized to attack our courier, unless it's a Pangolin I guess. But that tells everyone who it was that released the info.
