Extremely important to your current strategy with respect to any ambushing:

9 to 3????

Where are we getting these extra people? Leaf nin? Why are they co-operating with us on such a dangerous gambit if their positions in the tournament are all but secured provided they don't fuck up the last event too badly.

What if they don't wanna do this? Then we might end up doing it alone (with Pangolin support) from the wording, and if that is the case then we could be pretty fucked. If they get the drop on us then we might miss Event 5 entirely, and then we are truly sunk.

Just vote for 'Finding the Fifth No Ambush' and avoid the entire issue.

I'll note that the people who ambushed Hazou elected not to inflict consequence-level injuries on him even when they could, so that tells you how some other teams consider the political calculus.

Here's the thing: We have to do it. We are at the fucking bottom with regards to scoring, and need to take out other teams. I do NOT want to leave things up to chance in the Fifth Event, since chances are we won't even be with our team (read: individual event) and the mission might not even allow for take-out of other teams.

We. Have. No. Choice.

The ambush strategy is dependent on our enemies acting the way we want in a place and time that is favorable to us. The 72 ninja that are left went through a rigorous selection process and will almost certainly be paranoid about any potential ambushes.

Ugh, that's a good point actually. I'll remove that and save some words.

burgurgu @Briefvoice If I had a Contingency that basically says we'll abort ambush if STL (+ teammates) say NO?

They also have to find the next event. They also have to go to the next event.

Part of the challenge of the next event will be getting to it. Consider the following:

Materials for concrete and lockboxes were taken out the east gate of the city. They are affording teams the opportunity to ambush others.

Your plan isn't valid, you can't just reference another plan.

No call by reference, remember?

Right, but I'm saying, maybe taking the bonus XP isn't worth losing out on preparing contingencies here? We can fly short of 1 or 2 XP in the bonus if it means that we have a plan for if STL doesn't help an ambush.

I think everyone would consider this a fair trade.

Are DQed teams confined to the barracks?

The more I think about it, the more I consider that we're best off not sleeping immediately. Think about it: The next event has been implied to be outside of the city. If that's the case, then finding its location before other teams will afford us the opportunity to set up an ambush ahead of time and take them out.

If that's the case, other teams will also be scouting the ground.

We can nap in shifts as needed in the next 36 hours (when we arent doing shit).

c) I'm not sure what you're talking about? I don't spend effort on hindering Team Kurenai to my recollection, could you clarify for me?
I just wanted to argue against those who were pro hindering team Kurenai, so that it wouldn't be added in the first place.

Oh, that might be perfect for mining a bottleneck with goo bombs. Cover for observation will be sparse, so trap it to hell and back, then ambush your catch.

Alright, so here's an idea: Keiko sends Panashe off to scout the suspected area while we get STL on board and Hazou comforts Akane (briefly, time is short!). After that we (hopefully, STL) can get whatever information from Panashe and get over there to get an ambush set up. Maybe have a message sent to the Yakuza for a meeting so that [one of us] can briefly meet & exchange favors to get information on what the Event actually is. While the rest stay in the ambush zone and take out teams that check the place out.

Our approach to any potential ambushes should be pretty simple. If we can get co-operation, and fight 9 v 3 or even 6 v 3, then we should ambush other teams, if we cannot then we should not ambush other teams.

If we do plan to ambush other teams, then we should do everything we can to stack the odds in our favor even if that's as simple as eliminating variables. Such as inquiring the Yukaza's help in luring other teams to relatively isolated areas (with fake info regarding the 5th event, or any number of other things) or in tracking other teams. Various forms of traps could help, from goo bombs and barrier seals to setting up ways to flood an area with water (Noburi drain). Using pangolins might draw too much attention ending with US getting ambushed, except for perhaps the stealth specialist pangolin.

As I see it most of the risk with ambushing will be if things end up getting out of hand. With the most likely scenarios being us causing property damage or drawing other competitors and starting a battle royale/counter ambush.

Waitaminute. @eaglejarl @Velorien @OliWhail Who was the 10th Leaf contestant that made the cutoff?

Side note: Plan changed. Added the contingency as per @Oneiros' suggestions.

Agreed, mostly. Do we need to add that they'll be prepping nonlethal traps in the ambush zone beforehand?
