Who else's would we sell..?
I was thinking more along the lines of "Which of their seals would be more easily identifiable by their writing style?" The answer to that is Hazou (hooray for mass production!)

[X] Action Plan: Honest Quiet Sneaky Drugs

Suggested additions:
  • Mari & Mayor: If/when asked about why we are here/who is employing us, emphasize that we are hired to get Arikada out of Rice (that's where we are, right? So bad with geography) , and out of her hair. Continue with pushing that our team has a preference to minimize collateral damage (if the mayor is being cynical, say it's for possible future customers)
  • "Don't commit to anything, implying that we'll be loyal customers of whoever we decide to buy from but need to examine all options first."
  • I'd add a nice little trap of 'surely you're not worried we'll choose the other guys, if you're the better option?' I wouldn't put it quite so bluntly, but still. Their own pride should help them convince themselves we'll go to them.

  • For contingencies, maybe add some way to signal team talky? Did we ever come up with a way to use pangolin summon/desummon/reverse summon to communicate, even just as a '!' signal?(That would mean Keiko needs to be with the talky folks) If it can't be quiet, probably shouldn't do it since we have the element of surprise (as much as one can with sealmasters).
EDIT: I meant to say quietly signal team talky. Also, my emphasis on 'maybe' is to imply hesitation, not sarcasm or derision.

Are the pangolin capable of "tugging" a reverse summon, but not going through with it entirely, instead using it as a notifcation method?

If Keiko can tell if she has a summon or not (possibility: keep trying to summon? maybe bad for chakra) we can simply let desummoning be the signal.

I hesitate about using explosions/implosions for signals unless it's dire; people don't like explosions in their home. I meant 'a way to quietly signal team talky'. I was unclear there, sorry about that.

since I don't actually remember if anyone in the team has not-black hair
Mari and her gorgeous crimson locks are offended :p

In case you are not, the funny thing is that most of the time we still don't have enough discussion or participation when it comes to plan making.
We have half a dozen or more people coordinating on each of our plans. I for one think that's commendable.

I see you didn't implement my suggestion of getting rid of scent or exotic tracking measures after the trade meeting. Any specific reason for this lack of vigilance?
1) I did implement checking for exotic tracking measures. 2) We were told there weren't any bodies of water near the town.

some way to signal team talky?
I don't really have a thought for how to do this. I'd be against having Pandaa run around with Kagome and Akane, since we don't know his level of stealth or whether he's henge-capable, and the use of explosives to signal is (as you point out) suboptimal except if we're already in open combat.

I don't think we actually need to buy Akane a level of Sealing for her to know how to pretend to know sealing? If anything I'd guess we would need to up her Deception.

It's one XP for what I hope will be an adorable scene. Though I would kind of rather her have more taijutsu or tac move instead of stealth... ugh, xp woes.

The only people who know enough sealing to call Akane out on sealing stuff she wouldn't have picked up via osmosis from the team would likely be sealmasters/apprentices. Given that a sealmistress is being hired to come here and the addition of one is a big change to local power equilibrium, I would argue that there aren't many around. The worst would be if she's required to make a seal right there and then.

I feel just having Hazou butt in and answer any question Akane wouldn't know "as any apprentice knows..." is a solid response.

Given she won't be directly involved in the upcoming mercantile exchange, it's not likely to be a problem, anyways.

So the question, then, is whether we would rather increase her stealth or something else (although increasing stealth may or may not be a thing that happens regardless, per Velorien's objection).

Some alternative plans, if I've done the math right:
  • Everyone TM 17 (which I believe @MadScientist proposed after the previous chapter)
  • Hazou Deception 14 or Taijutsu 17e18 or Stealth 14e15
  • Noburi Diplomacy 14 (withdrawing 1 XP from the Med Fund) or Water Whip 17
  • Keiko to Stealth 14 or Weapons 21 / Stealth 12
  • Akane to Stealth 15 or Stealth 12 / Taijutsu 17 / Awareness 10

I wonder what new and gamebreaking powers Noburi will unlock at VD20. Maybe the ability to use the base humidity of air as a vector for draining/sensing?

One thought would be for Pandaa to go with Noburi + Hazou (i.e., whichever group isn't Keiko's) and desummon himself if trouble happens; once in the Summon Realm Pandaa can signal Keiko by attempting to summon her. Keiko is free to ignore said summons but she should still feel that tug, letting her know shit hit the fan.

I'd be very worried about sending Pandaa into the compounds of jumpy clan ninja he might offend :p

We know that we can do some training. We just don't know how much.

If we could have had more dice to help out on the mission, but our plan was slightly too much so it was nullified, then obviously that's a bad thing for us.

So I think we should hold off on training discussion until we know how many levels we can train and have the training done by the time we need to roll.
