MakeAmericaSaneAgain. A 2016 political campaign.

Well, I doubt this quest's primary will wrap up in 17 irl days, so why don't we wait around and base it off real life?

Hmmmm I guess that just happenened.
Also remind me what happens if Drumpf refuses to concede the election?

Realistically or hysterically?

Realistically, it would be seen as a level of Al Gore level political trouble, although even he did concede eventually. Although concession is not needed for the election, it is seen as a reason to demand a recount if it isn't. And if voter fraud is found and claimed, than there would be calls to nullify certain state and hold another vote. In other words, Austria right now.

Hysterically, it means that Trump is preparing his secret Army of his military supporters for a coup.

But that's all just wild guessing.
How did the debate go? I didn't get to see it. Could somebody summarize or point me to a relatively non-biased article summarization?

The FT is usually less partisan than others.

I can't read that. It says I need a subscription. Thanks for pointing me though. I'll think about getting the subscription if it is as less partisan in comparison as you say.

To summarize, Clinton calls Trump a proxy of Russia. Trump says that the election is rigged and Hillary is backed by Wall Street. Than about a few other of the other scandals, such as Trump University and Hillary's emails. So all in all, kinda similar to the last two debates.

Yeah, that sounds about right. Have the debates actually shown anything new about the candidates that we didn't already know they thought of each other?! (not actual question)

The main thing is that Trump said "I'll keep you in suspense" in response to a question on whether he would accept the election results if they showed that he lost. I think that's why the question was brought up in this quest, as we don't know what he'd have done if he lost the primary.

I think you're being a little optimistic when you compare the discourse today with the 2000 election. Gore v. Bush was certainly contested but the level of hate between the two camps in this elecitonis far worse than any I can remember. There's also a difference between what Gore did in 2000, and what Trump is talking about doing, particularly since the 2000 election was so close.(500 votes in Florida) Trump is literally saying that he thinks the results might be faked while Gore disputed the accuracy of the vote counting in Florida and wasn't claiming any malicious intent by the Republicans.

Well, Trump will appoint SC justices that'll overturn Roe v. Wade while Clinton will appoint some that'll overturn Citizens United. (not really news I guess)

They talked about abortion which Trump went with the typical pro-life line of "they're pulling babies out of wombs literally days before they would be born" etc. Again, nothing new. Clinton of course support women's right to choice and wants "government out of the decisionmaking" while not addresssing the ethical problems with killing fetuses/babies/whatever.

Clinton dislikes Russia, wants a no-fly zone over Syria but acknowledges the need to be careful to avoid possible war with Russia. Trump wants... something? He wasn't really clear, though he said he thought the administration was stupid for giving up the element of surprise in regards to Mosul.

Taxes: Trump wants to lower taxes, Clinton wants higher taxes for rich people and a continuation of Obama's stimulus package. Both failed to adequately answer critical questions regarding America's increasing debt, though Trump's plan was worse according to "economists".
Then there were the scandals but that's bullshit that people should stop caring so much about.

EDIT: Oh and guns. Trump loves 'em and wants a repeal of assault weapons ban and a federal open carry law.(or concealed, can't remember) Clinton wants more regulation but says she supports the second amendment. Same old, same old.

...I live in Québec, see a mess in our political situation both on the provincial and federal level where it seems people just go with who they hate less and yet, when I see this, I can only think that we could have it so much worse.

The way to get around the financial times subscription overlay is to go to google, and paste the link to the article in the search bar then click the article (usually the top one). This allows you to actually read the article.

Update is coming, sorry for a lack of any notice. Just some nasty stuff going on in my personal life right now.

Hopefully going to get some work done tonight.

Right, I'm restarting work on this quest. Quick question.

What do people on here think of Alternate History? (That doesn't involve stopping Hitler)

Depends on how far back the divergence point is, whether you can hold my suspension of disbelief, and how fun the idea is.

This.

Also of we are running a new conservative movement then that means by defaukt that this is AU. Hindenburg may ask Puapen about is and if we can control the reichstag etc. It coukd also mean different things for the country will happen like a full blown civil war or maybe event sub events play out differently or just not happen.

But in the end it has to be in the realm of possibilities.

But this isnt ww2. This is post WW1. Totally different. An we havent killed hiter ...so can we complete this qiest plz?

It seems to come and go in a very spontaneus rate. Was that karvoka who did that? Cant tell who the gm for that is.

@Echo 101, I feel like you've confused things here. This is "#MakeAmericaSaneAgain", Karvoka's campaign quest set in the 2016 US Republican Primary. This is not "Against the Tide", Karvoka's quest set in 1931 Germany before the Nazi takeover.
