I just saw that the trailer for this has come out.

It is an HBO series based on the novel of the same name by Matt Ruff and is about Atticus Freeman, his friend Letitia and his Uncle George as they embark on a road trip through the US during Jim Crow, to search for Atticus missing father pursued by sinister forces both mundane and otherworldly .

Despite his rampant racism, the core themes if lovecraft have always resonated to me as a jewish person, and I imagine its similar for other minorities, so it's good to see a minority author writing in this genre.

The idea that the universe is a vast uncaring place, uncaring at best and actively hostile at worst, populated by monsters who are the same... well it has certain thematic similarities to living in a society which can often feel the same
