I just finished binge-watching Our Flag Means Death and now there's a yawning void in my soul that needs filling.
I'm a sucker for queer romance and lovable weirdos so OFMD completely blew my socks off. The range and depth of the queer representation (and just general diversity) in that show is incredible, as is the development of each member in the ensemble (including Best Enby Jim). I'm not sure there's anything else out there quite on the same level, but I figured this would be the place to ask.
I've already seen What We Do In The Shadows, The Good Place, Norsemen, and The Last Of Us, each of which have strong elements in common with OFMD, and I'm mostly looking for genre shows with that same kind of vibe, and in particular for anything with female or non-binary leads.
Some honorable mentions that also fit the tone/themes that I'm looking for, although with varying levels of queer-ness: Sandman, Firefly, Buffy, True Blood, Scrubs, It's Always Sunny, Heroes, BBC's Robin Hood, Dead Like Me, Shameless, Skins, The L Word, Misfits, and Chuck
I know there's a lot more queer representation in animation these days, but I'd like to keep the scope of this thread limited to live-action TV shows, as opposed to animation and film, if we can, mostly for the sake of clarity. Thanks in advance!
Also, has anyone watched Soldados O Zombies? I'm more than a little bit in love with Vico Ortiz at this point and I'm willing to watch some hot garbage as long as they are actually in the show a substantial amount. IMDB has them listed as being in 6/8 episodes, but they could be a background character for all I can tell.
Edited to add some links.
