Cat

Hello? Ecks Dee?
>What is your name?

You can't remember it.

You can't remember your name.

It was there for a moment, a brief beautiful moment, but now it's gone. It's empty.

Your head is empty and you can't think of anything. It's a blank space, where your name used to be. A slot that was that is now 'not'. You are a person who 'has no name'.

>Enter name.

>Vriska
>Ness
>Young

>ERROR.
>ERROR.

>Name entered.

Ah. Yes. Your name is FRISK.

You open your eyes and the world is dark except for a single, solitary patch of green that you feel touching your back, a warm and filling feeling. But somehow...

You barely feel a thing. It's like there was something with you, but its gone now.

You sit up. There's a bit of wetness on your hands, and you tightly grip the grass, holding onto it like its the only thing there. But, nevertheless, you have to move forward. You can't stay here forever... can you?

You realize you could.

You could choose to never move forward. To never leave this single patch of grass, this small place that exists in darkness besides for that brilliant green. This is an option for you. But...

There's something inside you. A feeling, of sorts, one that you vaguely remember - it's scattered and blended but you think you know its name.

Ah.

Yes.

Of course.

You stand up.

You take a step forward.

It fills you with determination.

LOCAL GIRL RUINS EVERYTHING
It's dark and empty, the corridor you walk down. You open your mouth to ask for help, but... Something tells you nobody's going to come. It's barren, here. Empty. But you keep moving forward, down this corridor that feels far too familiar.

A shiver goes up your spine as you see what's ahead - a set of doors, and in front of them, another patch of grass. But why are you scared? There's nothing there. Just a wilted flower, looking towards the floor. You aren't entirely sure of what sort of flower it is. From what you recall, you weren't that interested in flowers. You kind of hated them.

The flower slowly turns upwards, revealing a bright smiling face that almost automatically falls when it sees you staring at it. It grimaces as it looks at you, and you look back at it, blinking slowly.

"Oh god. It's you."

This flower is the worst.

You open your mouth to respond, but it rolls right on over like you aren't even there.

"Why are you even here? What do you expect to change? Hail the conquering hero? Or do you just want to be accepted?"

You don't actually know what the flower's talking about. It is a very stupid flower.

"Don't you realize that nobody wants you here? You're just retreading the same steps, over and over, and hoping for a different result. It's all so pointless for you, though. It's the same ending every time."

You aren't really sure what the flower is saying, and there's nobody else here to really ask. As obnoxious as it is, you turn to it and ask the flower what it means.

"Mean?"

It snickers a bit, using a leaf to wipe some droplets of water from the grass near it.

"There's no meaning at all. Not to you, at least."

It sighs, a dramatic, drawn-out thing that makes you more then a bit uncomfortable. "You'll just keep going, on and on and on and on and on and on and on..."

It looks through you, straight on into the darkness behind you, like you aren't even there.

"Until you tire of it. But us? We just can't help it. We're stuck here. Stuck here with you. Forever."

You open your mouth to ask the flower how to go home, but as the words tumble out they sound... wrong. Like you're lying when you say them.

"There's no home anywhere anymore. But if you want, you could try left. Because there are no right answers for you are there?"

A nervous chuckle escapes from your lips, even though you don't want it to. The flower turns to you, a hollow look in its eyes. You say its joke was funny, but you didn't mean to laugh, it just sort of escaped from you. The flower ignores your apology.

"Yes. You would think that was funny, wouldn't you? Go away."

You're uncomfortable.

This entire situation makes you uncomfortable, and you have no idea why. You look at your feet, and feel this barren, empty lump in your throat. A hand reaches up to your eyes, and there are tears there.

"Unbelievable. Are you seriously crying?"

A nod.

"What? Really? You think you have any right to cry? After what you did? After everything that you did?"

This...

It stirs something in you. A part of you that is empty now whispers something that you cannot hear, and nudges you slightly as if you should answer. But you just shake your head at the flower, wipe away your tears, and it stares at you.

"Unbelievable. Oh this is... this is just amazing! You don't know!"

It laughs.

It's like nails scratching down a chalkboard made of glass.

"You don't know what you did! You have no idea what you've done!"

The laugh carries, the empty room echoing with the sounds of this flower as you stand there, staring at it feeling just as empty as the room.

"But I know."

It stops.

Everything stops.

The flower's face warps, twists into something vicious and terrifying, a face with too many teeth, teeth that drip with some substance you don't know of, and eyes that burn with hatred as they stare at you, burrowing deep inside of you.

"We all know. That's why she's not here right now, you know."

Who?

"Because she REMEMBERS what you were when you came here. And she let you leave."

This flower makes you extremely uncomfortable and everything it says is awful. This is the worst morning ever.

"And more than that? And more than that?"

It looks at you. You look at its teeth.

"She knows that its all"

Saliva drips from them in an interesting way. You watch it intently, trying to ignore the tingling up your spine. First tooth, fourth tooth, second tooth.

"Her"

Seventh tooth, twelfth tooth, first tooth.

"Fault."

Four Two Seven Twelve One

"Oh."

The flower's face breaks out into an even more gruesome smile as it looks at you, as it peers at you.

"Oh my. Ah. Oh. Oh. Oh. This is all... Just a big joke, isn't it?"

"So I'll just laugh."

It laughs.

"HAhaHAhaHEEheeHoOHahAHAha"
It sends a chill down your spine as the flower laughs again. It's too... real. To close to what a human would laugh like, what a real person would sound like. You can't take it. You start to turn away, to run, but the flower talks like you aren't there.

"None of you actually care about anyone here. You don't like us, but you don't hate us. And you can't stop watching either. Chara, Frisk, me... You just want to know what we're going to do."

Your ears perk up at your name and you turn back around, while the flower continues.

"You care about not caring. It's just words, right? And when the real thing doesn't give you enough, you'll keep going on your own. It's just..."

It stare at you. Those empty eyes are back, that empty smile is back.

"A"

"Big"

"Fat"

"Joke."

You are extremely confused by the flower's constant speech and have no idea what he's talking about.

He turns away from you, staring at the doors. "Just go away, will you? Even if you knew my name, you wouldn't remember anything anyways. I don't care what you do from here on. It's all your choice, in the end."

You turn to leave, but something stops you. You don't know what it is, but you can't move from this spot.

There's still something you need to do.

They said it couldn't be done. It shouldn't be done. Well, here it is. Undertale Quest. The premise should be obvious immediately, and if it isn't; well it will be soon. No spoilers allowed, because I just KNOW there are going to be duders reading this who haven't beaten the game. 90% of the options are going to be write ins, except during combat - where you'll get the usual fair of FIGHT/ACT/ITEM/SPARE. Special thanks to @VereorNox and @Lilithium for betaing and being helpful.

Canon's out the door. No holds barred. Remember to have fun, and stay DETERMINED!

>Flirt with the flower.
>Well the Flower knows stuff. So take it with you as you try to find something useful.
>While doing so, Flirt.

You don't leave yet.

You can't leave yet. You cannot possibly leave this first room without completing everything you have left to do before you go.

The wind is the only sound in the room, wafting lazily between you two. It's barren and empty, and you want to fill that space between you two, but you don't know what to say. What is there to say? What could you possibly say to make this better? Every time you try to open your mouth, the words that fall out come out all... wrong. Like they're just going through the paces, the motions of 'conversation' instead of actually making one.

God, you're useless at this sort of thing. But still... you're determined to make the best of this bad situation. So you press on, walking closer to the flower, and trying to think of something to say.

"Is there really any reason for you to stay here?" It throws that one at you, turning around with that empty look in its eyes. "Leave. Go and do it all again. You're already too late to fix it."

You stare at the flower for a moment, and ask if it wants to come with you.

It looks back at you. You look back at it.

A beat passes.

"Are you for real?"

You mention how nice its petals look.

"Are you seriously doing this?"

You tell the flower you think it has lovely eyes.

"This is stupid."

You ask the flower if it is currently seeing anyone.

"This is ignorant."

You try to imply that the flower and you would look nice together. You are not entirely sure if you were successful, because you have never actually been on a date with anyone, ever.

"You're an idiot, you do know that right?"

This isn't going the way you planned at all. You glare at the flower and turn away from it, making a sound in your throat. You're too good for that flower. He's not worth your time anyways. You just thought he might like a friend, that's all.

"A... friend?" The flower sounds confused, and you feel its piercing gaze on your back. "A friend? This is new, especially from you. It's been a while since I've had a friend."

Ears perk up at that, and you turn around and look at the flower.

"Well," it looks a bit sheepish, if a flower can even do such a thing. "I mean, you not knowing what's going on wasn't really something I expected."

You decide not to mention you still have no idea what the flower is talking about. It would ruin your burgeoning friendship!

"But still," the flower looks at you with a very serious look on its face. "It's your choices that brought us here. You did this. And even if we're..."

It looks at you hesitantly, trying out the word on its tongue as it says it, "Friends, I can't really walk around with you. No limbs, you know."

Oh dear. You didn't think of that. You admit this to the flower. It rolls eyes that don't exist.

"Yeah, you wouldn't think of it. Idiot. Well, if you don't know anything, then we might as well."

It extends a leaf. You extend a hand.

"Hi. I'm Flowey the Flower! It's nice to meet you!"

Yes. Your seduction skills are incredible. You are the best at it. You inform the flower that your name is FRISK. Flowey nods, lowering a leaf.

"Well then... Frisk. In this world, there were only two options. But..." It pauses, looking around. "Other options existed as well. And trying them all... that's what brought us here. To this."

You can no longer hold it in. You admit to your new friend that you have no idea what it is talking about.

"No, you wouldn't."

It doesn't say anymore, and simply looks at you, and you at it. Yellow petals and brown hair float gently on the wind, and your sweater is ruffled a little bit, as the grass rolls to the left. You readjust your sweater and look at Flowey again.

"I'm leaving, Frisk. I suggest you do the same."

You inform the flower you are leaving together.

"No."

Yes.

"I am definitely not going anywhere with you."

It totally is.

"No. I, and my magical friendship pellets, will be going away from you. We've got some... ideas we need to think over."

Wait, it had magical friendship pellets? And it didn't share them? You meet the worst friends ever.

"I was planning on sharing them, but I changed my mind."

Was it something you did?

"..."

It doesn't answer, and looks a bit pained at the question, before nodding. You feel terrible that you lost out on magical friendship pellets, but some things simply can't be helped. You tell Flowey the Flower that you will definitely see him around.

"Yes! You will!"

The two of you share a laugh, much less terrifying then the last one, and Flowey disappears somehow. It would be surprising, had you not already known that he had magical friendship pellets. They probably let him teleport too! If only you had become close enough to have magical friendship pellets. Then this would have been the best day ever.

But now, you're alone and it's cold. You have to pick a way to go.
>Go Forward.

You walk forward and come across a set of stairs made of marble. You slowly approach the two sets, and debate which side to walk up for a second before realizing that it is pointless. They are both leading to the same place. Only a silly person would agonize over such an easy choice. You choose the left side, because Flowey did say you could go left, and come across a massive shut door.

There are words written on it, carved over the engravings in a jagged hand.

>KNOCK.
>Say "Knock Knock"
>KNOCK

You say knock knock to the door. You hear a whispering sound replying to your knock, "Whoooooo's thereeeee?"

Your JOKE skill is too low to come up with a clever response to that inquiry! You have to apologize to the door for failing to tell a good joke. It accepts your apology silently and stoically, as doors often do.

As your attempt has failed, you try knocking on the door once. The giant set of doors open up a little bit, and you can almost peer through them! You have a brief moment of self congratulations as you wait for the doors to open.

Then they abruptly close. You are very annoyed by this doors refusal to acquiesce to your demands. It is after all, but a simple door, and you should not have to bow down before such a thing! And what would your new friend, Flowey think if he knew that you failed to open a door!

You reexamine the carving.

Nothing new has been discovered upon reexamining the carving.

Most of the puzzles will go like this - I'll take 2 or so ideas and use them, and try to find the ones that everyone liked the most. A hint will be included, so usually the ones I take will be ones that halfway complete the puzzle!

>Play Solitaire.
>Knock three times.
You raise your hand to the door, and knock sharply three times. It's a sort of ratatat-tat sound, and it echoes like a gunshot (which you've never heard, but it's vaguely familiar in a way,) around the room. The door creaks open slowly, ever so slowly, and you can feel a rush of wind as they finally reach open and you peer inside.

It's another room. Another door, but this one's already opened, cracked in half and flames licking at the sides. It's a bit worrying, but you ignore it in favor of the room. The room seems to be some sort of... playroom, almost? You see blocks on the floor to one side, and a set of chairs with a table in the middle. There is a set of cards in the middle.
>Play Solitaire.
You deal out the cards and think about what Flowey had said. There's not really much you can think about it; though. Flowey spoke of things you don't know of, and he sounded terribly upset by them. But that doesn't mean you can do... really anything. You don't understand what's going on.

You flip a card. Fish of Hearts. You have no idea whether to put it on the Skull of Spades or the Angry Man of Diamonds. You also have no idea what any of those mean. This deck of cards is very confusing, and you wish it just had numbers instead of pictures of random things. Oh well, you shrug your shoulders and mentally assign numbers and carry on.

Flowey said that in this world... there were two options, until somebody made others. What options? What others? Why did he tell you this? You're just... FRISK. That's all you are, in the end. And being that doesn't mean you're qualified to understand Flowey, or see what he means, or even speak to him. You're just a kid.

So why do you have such unkidlike thoughts?

You glare at your solitaire set. It is totally impossible to play this game, so you decide to put the cards in your bag until you find something to write on them with. You open your bag to put them in, and something tumbles out.

It's glinting. It's sharp. It's not something that a kid should have. It's a weapon. You peer at it hesitantly, staring at it as it shines viciously on the table. A knife, broken in half, with jagged, razor-sharp edges on the end. And you can tell... it's seen some serious use. It's not a thing for cutting meat, or slicing cheese. It was a weapon used for one thing, and one thing alone.

To kill.

Why do you have this? What use could you possibly have for this sort of thing? You can't think of one. You have no idea of any possible way this could benefit you. It's not something that you remember having in your bag - but as you reach for it, and hold it in your hand it feels... warm. Familiar. Like an old friend, comforting to the touch and easy to hold. This is your knife. FRISK's BROKEN KNIFE. So you pocket it, and put the cards into the bag, and stand up.

You stare at the flames that burned through the door, angry and red as they flicker faintly in the darkness. They're a bit scary, you think, but you reach into your pocket, and clutch your knife. It fills you with determination.

You go onwards. You don't really want to, but you don't have any other route to take, and this ruin is too quiet for you to ever consider living in. You feel like you're moving on autopilot as you enter the next room. There are bridges, with cool blue water running underneath them, but it's hard for you to really take in as you cross them, moving with purpose as you do so. You see levers, just begging to be pulled, but it seems unnecessary. There's nothing in the way to stop you from moving forward. You're determined to see what's at the end of this hall, no matter what happens on the way.

You pause for a moment, looking at your feet. There's a set of holes, and you can see pointy tips glinting below them. You hurry over the spike trap, wondering why it wasn't already activated. Had you turned it off when you walked by? You don't know. But you do know this; that trap means somebody else must be in the ruin!

There's no point in having traps if you aren't keeping something out. (or in.)

As you move towards the next door, there's a rumbling sound, and you aren't sure if it's an earthquake or not -- but it doesn't seem to be, and you slowly turn around.

A frog stands behind you.

You wish it was that simple to say.

This frog is monstrous, taller then you are, even if you are short for your age, with eyes that stare at you balefully and a mouth that drips ooze whenever it opens. It's eyes blink sideways, then vertically, and you can't suppress a shudder at the sight. It is more then a tad unsightly, and this frog is staring at you with purpose.

It moves towards you. You can't help but move towards it.

The two of you stare at each other, and it rumbles with unbridled energy. Oh dear. You seem to have found yourself in a rather precarious position. A word whispers itself into your head from the back of your mind, and suddenly you understand what this is. Yes. You've done this before. Many, many times before.

This is a BATTLE.
>Fight.
>Act.
>Check.

>Sing.
>Item.
>Flee.

Welcome to your first battle in LOCAL GIRL RUINS EVERYTHING! The battle system here is a bit different then in Undertale, because I can't actually design a series of bullet hell fights in text format! So unfortunately, I am going to try the Next Best Thing.

This is my working battle system. There are three types of damage you can inflict/be inflicted on - Weapon, Magic, and Unarmed. It's a simple triangle; Weapon beats Unarmed beats Magic beats Weapon. You have to choose the best damage type for the job! Currently you only have access to Weapon/Unarmed, and depending on which one you have equipped at the end of a turn, you can either halve the damage you take with a similar type, or dodge it entirely if you pick a type that beats the other. In other words:
> WEP >
MAG < ARM

This is currently pretty basic, but it'll get more in-depth as time goes on, I swear.

>Sing a Song.
>ACT
>SING

You stare up at the frog and feel something welling up inside of you. It's a sudden, startling feeling in your heart. This impossible, enormous creature before you, is something that whispers to a hidden part of your soul. You don't know if you like what it says to you, because your soul whispers back.

>FIGHT
You don't want to. You don't want to follow your soul's instructions, and that welling feeling in your heart swells to bursting. You can't stop it. You can't prevent it. It's something that has to happen.

The frog stares at you with eyes that blink too much and a mouth that is too wide, and you feel like you're staring into something as empty as that strange spot inside of you. But that blackness... it fills you up. It's like you've come home again. Your lips twitch, but you don't grin. It isn't the time for laughter, or tears. It's time to do the one thing you can do in such a situation.

You grip your knife.

You grit your teeth.

>SING.
You open your mouth, and sing. You sing a song that you half remember, something someone sang at you, you think. It has no words, and is more of a melody then anything else. It's your feelings, poured out into voice.

The frog opens its mouth and ---

Croaks out a response!

>Compose a DUET with the FROG.
You do not know how to compose a duet, because your cooking skill is too low! Also, you don't have any WIZARD CHEESE. You are only able to harmonize with the frog, and attempt to mimic his notes. His voice is much deeper then yours, so it will not be an easy task, harmonizing with this frog. It is a bit intimidating, after all.

What with all the saliva that seems to be creating holes in the floor.

You grip your knife, pulling it free from your bag as you stare at the frog, and open your mouth as you wave it around in what you are pretty sure a conductor would do.

The two of you proceed to have the worst harmonization in the history of everything. Your voice is too high, his is too low. But nevertheless, you are delighted to continue. You sing your tiny heart out, as the frog croaks his own tune. It doesn't sound like anything to your ears - but you're not a musician, so it could be the greatest art piece ever composed for all you know.

You sing. You sing until your lungs are empty of air, and until you reach a point where refilling your lungs doesn't fill them nearly enough to empty anything else. But you try, squeezing your eyes shut as you puff out a pitiful little note. The frog croaks in laughter at you, shaking its head. It dips low, fixing you with a long gaze that you can't possibly look away from.

Your mind is filled with knowledge and wind. You feel lighter then you've ever felt before, like you're walking on clouds with every step. You let out a laugh and a small smile as the frog croaks in approval, gesturing towards the puppet nearby. You almost fly over to it, feeling like the air itself as you move to it, air moving to your command to twirl the puppet in quick circles in tune to the frog's low thrumming voice.

The puppet spins faster and faster, until you can barely see at all. You're moving so fast that the world itself is a blur, and your feet no longer touch the ground. You are the air, and the air is a part of you.
>FRISK learned BRTH1!
You turn to thank the frog, but it has vanished. All that is left in its place is a stuffed green frog, which you lean down to and croak softly at. It doesn't respond, because it is a toy.

You pick it up, squeezing it. It is one of the softest things you've ever felt, and you smile brightly as you move onwards, through a door that has just opened. There's a path that's been tread again and again, but you ignore it, walking through the room into another - a room filled with water and spikes.

But somehow... your feet remember the path you need to take. It is an easy task for you to make your way through the room. It's like you've done it time and time again, taking these steps, walking this road, over and over until you reached your destination. You reach out with one hand to try and touch one of the spikes... But it already sheathes itself as you reach, like it knew what you were trying to do. You frown at the spike as it goes down, but you have the sneaking suspicion that it wouldn't have hurt you anyway. This place...

It's like a playroom.

A place for people to laugh. To be themselves. To try new things, over and over, until they tire of trying. A place that has been repeated, time and time again, so many times that it has become comforting, like an old friend to come home to. It's nice, in a way. You smile, to yourself. Because this place... it's like home.

And home is something that you can't remember having, not for very long at least.

You stop again, in the middle of this endless hallway. It's long, and you're tired. But as you look forward, you see a bed of leaves in the distance, that look far more comfortable to sleep on then over here, where there's nothing but cold walls and colder floors. You walk forward towards it, but a frog jumps in your way. A spider joins him, and the two stare at you.

You wave hello.

They do not respond. They probably just need some magical friendship pellets, but Flowey did not think to give you any!

You ask them if they are having a good day.

"wwell i wwas," the frog croaked, "until a bad person wwalked ribbit in front of me."

A bad person? You admonish the frog for calling the spider names. He or she has done nothing wrong to the frog, and it is rude to be unkind for no reason!

The spider stares at you with eight eyes and snickers, moving away. The frog just glares at you.

You tell the frog you would love to talk to him about manners, but you are very tired and would really appreciate a chance to take a nap, if he wouldn't mind.

"no, you go ahead." it says, and hops out of your way. "im going to go get somepondy who knowws wwhat to do."

That sounds like a good idea. You have no idea what you are doing right now, except going to take a nice nap in that pile of leaves. You head over to the leaves as he hops off, and lie down on top of them, closing your eyes.

But you cannot sleep.

These leaves have filled you with determination.

>Follow the frog.
>Try and go to sleep anyways.
>Explore.

>Let FRISK go.
>Let FRISK go.
You try to let yourself go to sleep but you are too determined to do so! You are wide awake and ready to face whatever comes your way.
>Go UP.
You stand up, stretching a bit, and head up once. This room is small, and the only thing in it is a single item, resting on a pedestal. It seems... eerily familiar to you, in a way. You look at it, and want to reach out to touch it, to see more of this item that has entered your reality but instead you merely stare at it.

It's not that large. A slim sort of thing, almost daintily laid on top of this pedestal in place of whatever should have been there. It's far too familiar to you for something you've never seen before but... You can't recall where you've seen it. It's so simple, and yet the place where it is kept seems well-kept, like it's a treasured memory.

The item you are staring at, is, of course, a book. This book has pages half torn out, and pages half left in and reattached. It's a book for someone who has lots of memories they want to keep, in a book very old and well worn. You reach out to touch it, but you refrain from doing so. This is someone's happy place, and you can feel that. This is a place where someone goes to forget all their worries, their troubles, and all that they think is wrong with the world.

But you can't bring yourself to leave. Not just yet. You want to look in the book, but you know that it's something personal to someone. You are a good kid. You don't look in other people's things just because you can. So you turn away pointedly from the book. It is a silly book. The wall is much more interesting then it.

You head for the door, giving the book one last glance, and leave.
>Follow the Frog
Letting yourself go took too long! You can no longer follow the frog because the frog has vanished! You can attempt to track the frog, but it moved so fast, like it had somewhere else to be, instead of hanging out with you and your new spider friend. Speaking of your spider friend, you realize he (or she) is in the corner of the room! You move to ask it where the frog went.

You say hello to the spider. It eyes you nervously.

"Is there something you need?" It asks hesitantly. Its voice is high and lilting, kind of too elegant for spiderkind. You are slightly suspicious of the shady look in its spider eyes.

You tell it you want to know where the frog went. It almost sags in relief.

"Oh? Him?" The spider sounds very pleased. "Sure I know where he went! But first..."

Several webs drop down from the ceiling and you notice that there are several items attached to each of them! You see weapons on one end near the spider, as well as some books and clothes This is very strange for you, because from what you know spiders sell none of these things that are not in spider form. You ask the spider why you need to see their items. The spider looks offended.

"Why? because you need to buy something if you want to know something! You seem to have a pretty decent knife on you, but I can upgrade it for you!"
>Ask the spider about his wares.

Welcome to Local Girl Ruins Everything's shopping system. Buy things from spiders with money! Then the spiders will give you an investment - usually a hint or tip of some sort - maybe even a spell!

>Observe Spider Wares.

>Flirt with the spider.
>Ask subtly about his wares whilst doing that.

You open your mouth to explain you have no money on you right now, but the spider seems oblivious to such trivialities such as 'money' at the moment. You have only one recourse left to do. You must FLIRT the spider into giving away his items for free.

>Tell the spider he has lovely limbs.

The spider is immune to your FLIRT technique! You cannot swindle a swindler!

You should have realized such a devious creature such as a spider would be immune to your rather low leveled flirtations. You look at the floor as he admonishes you for being such a FLIGHTY BROAD at such a young age. And look at your shirt, really. You could do with some FASHION SENSE as well, because your dress sense is 'so last Tuesday'.

Your spider merchant ceases admonishing you, and asks if you plan on buying anything. You think fast. You cannot simply walk away, because your froggy friend has vanished into the distance with nary a word. But you a FLIGHTY BROAD like yourself has no idea what to buy. You flutter your eyelashes and ask what he recommends.

"Wreck... oh... mend?" The spider asks. "Izzat some sorta illness?" He stares at you suspiciously. "You tryin' to trick me, girly? I was born last week, not yesterday! Just because I'm in the Ruins instead of Hotland doesn't mean I'm an easy target!"

Oh dear. Your spider friend has worked himself up into a rage. He is glowing red and glaring at you with all of his spider might. You try to explain that you just want him to tell you what to buy.

"I don't cheat my customers! Some spiders might be willing to lie and trick others for money but not me, no sir! I'm an honest spider. I'll charge you 20 for a new shirt, 50 for a book, and 100 and up for weapons. This may not be a Nice Cream Cart, but I run a respectable webness, Missy!"

You apologize profusely. You did not mean to offend the spider, it simply happened. You ask him what you can do to repay him. His face lights up, spider eyes filled with an emotion you are too innocent to understand.

"Repayment? Well..." He looks at you, muttering to himself, before nodding. "There's a bake sale a few doors down. If you could watch over it for a bit, that'd be more then enough. You could buy something too you know!"

You open your bag to look for any money you might have. Surprisingly, you have quite a bit? You pull out what is your MONEYBAGS and open it. The spider's eyes bulge.

"A-a-actually you can just buy a few things from me! Lemme introduce you to my wares!"

The spider opens his shop to you!

You point at everything you want to buy and then fish out the money. The spider's eyebrow arches, but it shrugs and moves on anyways. After all, you are spending a good bit of money on him!

"Thanks for your purchase!"

It is a good feeling to help those in need. You smile at the spider, and give him a thumbs up. He gives you eight of his. That is seven more then yours, and you cannot hope to match him. You instead put on your HAT, which is dashing, and open your UNDGRDMAP.

...

This place is rather... large, wouldn't you say? It seems far too vast for your tiny legs to navigate. But nevertheless, you're going to have to. It is a good thing you are prepared with your MAP!

"So, you wanted to know where that frog went, right?" The spider prods you with a tiny spider limb. "First things first, though. You spent a lot of cash on me," he rubs his fur with one limb, looking sheepish. "More then I expected. I'll give you a bit of a service! Your knife's kinda broken isn't it? I'll tie a strand onto it, free of charge!"

You agree to let the spider do that thing. Your KNF is now a KNF+1(Strand)!

"Anyways, the frog I'm pretty sure went to the house. Somebody lives there, and they've been in it for a long time now; waiting for someone." It gives you a long look, then looks away. "But I'm sure you're not who she wants to see. You're a bit too... violent for her."

You tell the spider that you are not violent. You have never hurt anything in your life. It looks into you with eight spider eyes that speak of something that you don't understand.

"...Right. You haven't." It nods its head hesitantly, then points in a direction. "Look, if you just keep going left then you'll find it. Most of the puzzles are off in here now, she doesn't seem to like puzzles that much anymore. Thinks they don't protect anyone, and that they might have set someone off instead."

The spider doesn't look at you. You don't know why, but you thank it for taking the time to talk to you. After all, you are sure it is very busy, what with the bake sale and all. It stares at you, before laughing a bit.

"I'm not having a bake sale. We... stopped doing that. Someone used our stuff for something we didn't really appreciate."

It's a memory.

It's faded and something you don't understand.

But you ignore it, because it's not what's important right now. You tell the spider that you're going to follow the frog. It nods, understandingly.

"Alright, kid. Here, it's on the house."
>HSTRY Obtained!
You ask why it's giving you something for free. You've never gotten anything for free before. It sighs, looking away.

"Look, kid. I'm not saying that you might wanna look it over, or anything, but you've got a bit of a walk ahead of you, and nobody's going to talk to you. Nobody wants to remember you. So... you might as well read up on some stuff while you go, right?"

You agree that reading is important, and thank the spider.
>Leave.
You begin your walk, and it seems pretty far... What should you read on your way?
>MGC
>HSTRY
>Walk in silence.

I wanted to beat the game again to refresh my memory. Let's go.
