[X] A Dwarf

Consider, instead of the evil archetypes of a decadent noble or mad prophet or barbarian warchief- that of the sorcerous dark lord in a dark tower

[X] A Dwarf
[X] One of the Lizardfolk

Dwarves getting ruled by KNIFE-EARED BASTARDS!? Unacceptable! this is a grudging if I've ever seen one! Besides, evil dwarves are awesome.

Attention, Dwarves of the Realm!

Are you tired of the oppressive reign of the knife ears, who seek to control our lands and dictate our ways? Do you yearn for a return to the proud traditions and autonomy of our ancestors? Then join us in the fight for Dwarven liberation!

We are the Army of Stone, a movement dedicated to reclaiming our rightful place in the world. Our ancestors built mighty kingdoms beneath the earth, and it is time for us to rise once more.

Our cause is just, our resolve unyielding. We seek to challenge the dominance of the ruling class, to secure Dwarven sovereignty and safeguard our heritage for generations to come.

But we cannot achieve this alone. We need brave souls like you to stand with us, to lend your strength to our cause. Whether you are a skilled artisan, a cunning strategist, or a fearless warrior, there is a place for you in our ranks.

Join us, and together we will forge a new future for our people. Together, we will shake the very foundations of the world and carve out a place where Dwarves can thrive as they were always meant to.

For Dwarven independence! For the glory of our ancestors! Join the Army of Stone today!

=======

Come on people, vote Dwarf, so we can do some proper sedition, and return our people to glory.
One kidnapping, beheading and carriagebombing at a time....

Honestly a lot of the changes I'm making are going to be informed by my attempts to reconcile some pretty hilarious contradictions in the lore as presented across the AP.

"Talingarde is a shining beacon of hope and righteousness, united under the heavens!"
"Also they arrest dwarves for talking about their ancestral faith and denying that Mitra created the world."
Meh, it wouldn't be the first time that propaganda and popular perception hid issues under the surface - which I think was a theme of WotW. Also, consider that the Mitra hardliners in the clergy got a big jump in influence with the last king and this one, which is what led to stuff like the dwarves getting arresting.

I've never heard if this setting so I googled the wiki to get a basic overview. This sounds like it will very fun.

Looks like our race controls a lot. It obviously controls our relationship with society but it also points to what type of crime we did to get to this point, which in turn will affect our knowledge with less public parts of the world. One thing that wiki overview made clear is that we legitimately did the crime in question. Why we did the crime is undecided, but we 100% did something worthy of the death penalty.

Let me try to guess what kinds of crime each choice might have done.
To be sent to Branderscar, you must have attempted to challenge that status quo in some significant way.
This is vague but my first instinct is Heresy, Sedation, or High Treason, long shot is Desertion.
To see an elf condemned to Branderscar is a rare and scandalous thing, for it means that even one of Talingarde's most worthy scions saw fit to turn against the crown.
Whatever we did would be especially vile. High Treason, Consorting with the Dark Powers (Witchcraft), Desecration, Heresy, or Grave Robbing.
Those humans sent to Branderscar are almost invariably guilty of transgressing against this dominant faith in some ways, and such flagrant heresy carries the death penalty.
This is clearly religion related. Which is mostly the same list as elf. Consorting with the Dark Powers (Witchcraft), Desecration, Heresy, or Grave Robbing.
For one of them to commit a crime dire enough to be sent to Branderscar is all but unprecedented.
This is the most vague but as an outsider to their society I'm leaning towards the more overt stuff. Arson, Murder and Kidnapping.
To be sent to Branderscar, you did more than simply break the Talirean's rules - you made them afraid.
Now this one interests me. Is this a subjugated second class citizen rising up, or someone from the unconquered tribes coming out and reminding the world there is a reason they will never win? That really changes what crimes would be most fitting.

[X] An Orc
[X] A Human

Human because I want to knock this Shining Lord off their pedestal. Orc because I'm hoping we are from the unconquered tribes and are out to burn the world to ash.

As a note of caution, that appears to be a fan-made wiki for a specific playthrough of the campaign that someone did. There's no "Elder Eye" in this quest, for example.

That said, yes, a key part of the concept is that you 100% did in fact do the crime for which you have been jailed and sentenced to death. You might think you had good reason, or that the crime ought not to carry such a heavy penalty, but you did in fact do it.

Thank you for the heads up. That was the first result when I searched for Talingarde. Do you have a recommendation for a better site to get an overview of the setting?
