Lich Quest

The trouble with familiacide is that I've read the Order of the Stick.

You just know that someone here is going to be related to some important bigshot, and a bunch of heroes are going to be called in to investigate.
Dude. Heroes already coming because of huge Tower of Evil. Although we are now potent enough that we can kill 98% of heroes without any effort.

[x] You suppose you could use some of the heartsblood to cast a bloodline spell. Very efficient, especially with more isolated townships like this one. Given the catalyst, you could even make it one of those heart-rupturing curses. You've always wanted to try your hand at one of those.

The probability of offing somebody important as collateral damage seems worthwhile, to me. Besides, if any monarchs or governors have secret children in some out-of-the-way village, then it's going to be a clear and object lesson on the value of keeping it in your trousers.

[X] These people have no appreciation of the level of magic involved in this. But you can understand the children were a long term investment. You'd be annoyed too. Just set up a ward to keep them away and let them tire themselves out.

[X] If they simply accepted their place in life, this whole affair would have been much less traumatic. Enslave them and send them back to the town to get things under control. Once they understand that you are their master, you won't have to deal with this again.

[X] Go out onto the balcony and let them know in detail precisely what you did. Then make an example of them. Something where their deaths will be slow and painful enough to make clear your opinion on defiance. Your tower does have a lot of spikes on it…

-[X] Lies and violence works perfectly well. Accuse bands of adventurers in murdering children.

Long-term planning. It's not quite a Mayorship or Barony handed to us on a silver platter, but it will do for now.

-[x] And besides, now that you have the heartblood infused with anguish, you can simply resurrect the children in case you need them later.

I rather deal with the townsfolk later once we're done with the ritual.

An affably evil quest? Awesome!

You think tearing open the ribcages of children and ripping out their beating hearts while they lie paralysed on their beds is affable?
