The time we now live in is called the Traction Era.
It began with the the 60 Minute War...

The world had been in a long Cold War between the American Empire and Greater China.
Tensions grew and both superpowers developed more and more horrifying technology to be used for one single purpose - to bring death and destruction to the enemy.

And when the Flames of War were finally released, so too did the beginning of our End began...

The War itself could be described as both of Biblical proportions and anticlimactic.
After all... It only took 60 minutes for both sides to be completely destroyed...
North America and Eastern China were both reduced to radioactive wastelands...

The rest of the world was thrown into chaos and disarray...

The world itself began changing because of The War. Great tsunamis and earthquakes reshaped the landscape. The weather was unpredictable with great storms and mini ice ages.

Humanity persevered however, creating castles on great treads,Traction Fortresses, to live in and escape the disasters of the world. These castles soon grew in number and formed tribes, later on, whole empires.​

Then one man had the idea of rebuilding London by following the example of said fortresses. The man was thought mad, and though he managed to build the engine capable of realising his dream, he did not live to see it.

Another man however, a leader of one of the nomad empires, conquered London and finished the dream. He tore down the city and rebuilt it vertically upon great treads, using the great engine that was located in the city's GUTs to mobilise it.

Thus in the 420th year of the Traction Era was the first Traction City born...

And London would soon be followed by many others...​
