you are a general of the imperial guard, the emperors hammer, you were in command during a tyranid invasion of the hive world Llarvis V, you put up a dogged defense, making the tryanids pay inch by bloody inch with the regiments under your command, however, you only delayed the inevitable, you and the men under your command alongside the people of larvis V, at least those who could get aboard the evacuation shuttles on time, are all that's left, as Exterminatus was performed on the planet, following a freak warp accident, with nothing but limping naval ships, you must make planet fall less all the people under your command die, this planet is new, but what dangers lurk on it, you do not know, however you must land and lead all those who survived to safety, build a base/city for the survivors to live on and eventually, reunite with the imperium at large, if you survive that is.

character creation part 1
you are a general of the imperial guard, but who are you exactly?

gender (this is purely for customization):
[x] male.
[x] female.

your name:
[x] "insert name here"

home world:
make your home world and do it carefully will dictate, what traits will be available to you.

(For example: if you're from a hive world, your character will automatically get plus 10 to rolls when fighting in cramped areas and will not be able to get the claustrophobic trait and is well used to crowds of people giving you a plus 10 to diplomacy checks when making speeches or meeting people)

rules for making home world:
your home world can anything but keep it reasonable.
your home world most have at least 1 gimmick that makes it grimdark, but not grimderp, even if you choose to be from a paradise world, it cannon be the perfect planet or anything like that.
the home world you're from will also be the first regiment you make and have more direct control of them than regiments from different planets (which you will also create).
you can choose to be from a planet that exists in 40k canon, like cadia, krieg or vallhalla.
you can't be from a penal colony, a high/low gravity world, a feral world or a feudal world.

after your done with making your character, you will then make some regiments and then choose what world you discover and land on.

how you look will and your stats, traits and weapon of choice will be in part 2 of creating your character, you will have maximum customizations available, meaning you can look like anything you like, but depending on the planet, you may get some things exclusive to that type of world.

(QM note: this is my first time doing a quest, so advice will be appreciated on to run it better, expect edits to be abundant, if primarily for fixing spelling errors or to make things easier to understand)

I just realized this but the mortium is for 3 days, this should give people time to make a character
thus, giving you 72 hours to make one or vote for one, have fun

how the dice will work
the dice rolls of this quest will follow a traditional crusader king style with intrigue, martial, stewardship, diplomacy, personal options, and then research/learning.
the dice rolling system will apply to both building your settlement/base and during combat turns, this will follow a system that looks like the one mad0slayer uses in his dwarf quests and a little bit of the system used in the quest, "colonizing a peaceful planet".

martial: is used for military matters and during war turns and such, martial is used to build military infrastructure, recruit troops to refill your regiments when they take casualties, heal the wounded, military infrastructure primarily consist of outposts, fortifications, buildings for housing your regiments and their vehicles and other stuff.

stewardship: you should know what this is, it dictates your building and other similar manners, stewardship is used to build infrastructure for civilians and workers, food and mining buildings, energy buildings and more.
intrigue: is used in stealth actions and spying, this is including secret raids by your regiments (if they can), making sure heretics and genestealers don't take root, keeping tabs on the populace and your regiments to learn where dissenters are and what do they think of your command and what they want and such.

diplomacy: this is used to keep peace among your regiments, making contact with the populace of a world if there are inhabitants, assuming their humans (or abhumans) of course.

research/learning: this is used to study tactics, learn more of the regiments that are from different worlds that are under your command and see if you can convince a tech-priest to maybe find a way to make hotshot las packs more readily available.

personal actions: if you been on quest before, you should know how this works, this often ties in with learning and is used to buff the chance of buildings being completed or lowering the chance that something will go horribly wrong if you roll badly.

the dice will be 1d100 and the more dice you roll for an action, if its completed but there's numbers left over, those numbers will be used to contribute to the next upgrade of that building or the expansion of similar buildings, or even out right finish the next upgrade immediately if you roll well enough.

[X] Bastion-A Fortress Death World, filled with killer plants, dangerous animals and titanic beasts. The world is split into three continents and few islands. While the world is filled with killer plants, the animals can be trained to turn them into mounts for the guard or have them as domestic pets. While the titanic beast are dangerous, they generally stay away as long as you leave them alone.

sorry, but this is closing
I'm sorry for those who followed this

but I'm closing the quest down, if you can even call it that.

this was way too ambitious for my skill level,

so, I'll be making a new quest that is much simpler but still enjoyable, both for me and for those who participate, or even those who just read it,

ill post the new quest eventually and maybe in the future I'll revive this quest but only once I get some experience under my belt.

again, sorry for those followed it, but thanks for at least looking at it.
