So Team thread here, since everyone else is doing it and I'm weak to peer pressure. But more seriously, this is the basic team planning thread. I don't have my laptop for the day, so I'm not going to bother with long paragraphs and other stuff. Maybe later. For now, we can talk team dynamics.

So our team is Ino, Kiba, Neji, right?

I'd say that if fighting a single, powerful opponent then Neji and Kiba can distract and position them, so that Ino can trap them with a Mind-Body switch and then we can kill/detain them depending on the battle.

If fighting more than one then, with the way Ino's abilities are now, she would stand back while Neji and Kiba engage the enemies and support them with Stone Bullet and her mind tricks. When an enemy gets closer enough she can hold them off with her better taijutsu.

If we hold a defensive position then Kiba would be the striker that attacks outside of the defense and then retreats back, while Neji would protect Ino, and Ino should support Kiba.

If we're attacking a defended location then Kiba would drill a hole in the defences, Ino would attack them a la Artillery Strike, and Neji would follow through the hole in the fortifications or ranks that Kiba has made.

During a pursuit Neji and Kiba will track the target, Kiba will chase them with Hokori and delay them or take them down. Ino will extract the information or incapacitate them.

Because Kiba is the fastest mover of the team he would generally be the striker, the hammer, attacking first, while Neji is the fastest and strongest attacker of the team, the anvil. Ino will hem the targets in and attack them at range with her jutsu.

Fighting against another team would have Ino distract all the enemies and incapacitate the first person possible, Neji and Kiba will then focus on the other two with Ino supporting them. Neji and Ino can help group the enemies for Kiba two use a Dual Fang-over-Fang on them, while Kiba and Ino can set a single enemy up for a 64 or 128 palms, and Neji and Kiba can set up a Mind-Body switch for Ino.

Neji was born the son of Hizashi Hyūga, placing him in one of the Hyūga clan's branch houses. When the heiress of the main house, Hinata, turned three years old, Neji's forehead was branded with the customary cursed sealby his uncle, Hiashi. Despite how young he was at the time, Neji's natural talent with the Hyūga's trademark techniques were apparent to his father. For this reason, Hizashi resented that Neji was marked with a cursed seal, as he felt it bound him to a life of service to the main house when he should be destined for greater things. His anger would often manifest subconsciously, prompting Hiashi to activate Hizashi's cursed seal and punish him with pain, an act that traumatised Neji.

Shortly after Neji received his cursed seal, a Kumogakure Head Ninja visiting Konohaattempted to kidnap Hinata in order to gain the secrets of the Byakugan. Hiashi stopped and killed the Head Ninja. In what became known as the Hyūga Affair, Kumo denied the allegations made against its Head Ninja and insisted Hiashi's actions were a declaration of war by Konoha; the Third Hokage at the time, Sarutobi Hiruzen, refused to bend to their wishes and told Kumo's Raikage that if they wanted war then they could get it. Shamed at having their bluff called, and all too way of the strength that Konoha had, through its allies and is clans, Kumo left after signing the Peace Treaty.

As a result of having his father still alive, Neji grew to be a polite child, if quiet, and struck up a friendship with Sasuke Uchiha. During the Academy they competed constantly for the top of the class, Sasuke's father trained him while Neji's genius allowed him to breeze through the classes. When they finally graduated Sasuke and Neji ended up tied for the position of Rookie of the Year.

He spends a lot of his time training, meditating and reading. He will always dislike the Main House for their enslavery of the Branch House.

The Hyūga clan are descendants from theŌtsutsuki clan, specifically from Hamura Ōtsutsuki's lineage. As a result, they are also distant cousins of the Uchiha, Senju, Uzumaki, and Kaguya clans. They are considered to be one of, if not currently, the most powerful clan in Konohagakure. Their notoriety and prowess stretches far and wide, leading others to both praise and covet their abilities. During the Fourth Shinobi World War, a Kumo-nin noted that they had a hard time against them during a previous war.

The clan is separated into two parts, the Main House and the Branch House, a system that protects the secrets of the Byakugan from outsiders. The Main House runs the family while the Branch House protects it. The members of the Branch House are branded with a cursed seal upon the third birthday of the heir to the Main House. This seal gives the Main House members absolute control over the branch members, because they can destroy the branch members' brain cells with a simple hand seal, or cause them great pain to punish them. This seal also makes sure the secret of the Hyūga's Byakugan is safe, because it seals the Byakugan after the wearer of the seal dies. Because they are essentially servants, simply because of their birth order or heritage, some Branch House members are hostile to those of the Main House.

In the past, there have been several attempts on the part of Kumogakure to acquire the dōjutsu of this clan. This even culminated in the death of the would-be-thief: the Head Ninja of Kumogakure and the demands of Hiashi's corpse who had killed him according to the stipulations in the peace treaty that the two villages had signed. Ultimately, Hiruzen refused to give in to Kumo's demands and Kumo walked away shamefacedly after admitting their bluff and signing the treaty.

Hey guys, just tagging you in case you didn't follow this thread for whatever reason. So, I'm posting the reaction to you all's introductions and the beginning of the test now. Since the other teams are doing this, I thought we could discuss the test and put all the pieces together into one big post to be posted by myself, in order to expedite the process. We don't have to, of course, but I think it would be the most seamless method.
 
So Torune is covered in insects of death rendering the strongest part of our team, taijutsu, invalid.

Lets see what we got.

We have the three academic Jutsu's. Kawarimi, Henge and Illusory Clone.
Kiba right now has; Hiding Like A Mole Jutsu, Passing Fang, Four Legs Technique and can also run on trees.
Neji has; Gentle Fist, Eight Trigrams Sixty-Four Palms, Eight Trigrams Revolving Heaven, and Eight Trigrams Vacuum Palm.
Ino has; Mind Body Switch Technique, and Stone Bullet.
We also have Kunais, Shruikens, Exploding Tags and Ninja Wires.

Because he is Purple and we do not know what touching him does, so we better not.

We somehow need to use our Three Academy Jutsus, Neji his Vacuum Palm, Ino her Stone Bullet and Kiba with explosive tags to get him to stay still long enough for Ino to be able to use her Mind Body Switch.

Alright,
Ino stays back and throws kunai, exploding tags, shruiken, her Stone Bullets in an attempt to achieve battlefield control until its her time to use the Mind Body Switch Jutsu. But she should always keep moving, and use Kawarimi and Henge if need be.

Neji has to try keeping Torune busy as long as he could. I am speculating that Neji could keep himself from touching Torune directly by releasing chakra from his tenketsu where the skin is about to come into contact to create some kind of protection, or use vacuum palm at close range.
Kiba because he is the fastest should use a combination of Hiding Like a Mole

Jutsu and Four Legs Technique to move around the field, placing ninja wires around Torume to restrict his movements, also booby trap places with exploding tags. thanks to byakugan Neji would be able to see the wires and other traps so it won't be too much of a problem for him.

After that Kiba would join the battlefield, throw kunais and exploding tags if he is certain that they won't harm Neji, he will join the taijutsu only if it is really, really needed.

The team as a whole should try to corral Torune to a place filled with traps and set them off, use ninja wires to entangle him and then have Ino use her technique.

I do not have a counter for a lot of things, what if Torune decided to use bug clones, send his bugs in swarms instead of using Tajitsu, use Kawarimi, when fighting with Neji uses his bugs in addition to taijutsu, or any other million things

We need a lot better plan, but this is a start.

In addition, the Team Torune members do not know anything about eachother so the plan could sink before it even begins, because it relies on teamwork.
 
To summarize the test, it's a test of will. Torune wants you to have to touch him, thus making it a taijutsu challenge. And to be very clear. You can't win. Like, it's actually impossible for you all to beat him. The point is to make you choose. If you attack with taijutsu, he will simply allow you to it him. If you shy away from doing so, you won't pass in his eyes. Not that he'll actually send you back to the academy. But he'll look at you with that in mind. For the purposes of story telling, I suggest at least one of you, such as Ino or maybe Kiba, hesitate, because they're fucking twelve and have never been in a life or death struggle. Neji might do it purely out of spite though. Wouldn't put it past him.

Isn't Torune Purple? It sounds like a bad idea to touch that guy. But okay.

Kiba at first would stay back when Neji attacks and throw stuff at him, if Neji doesn't seem to be affected, Aka: not dead, then he would also join the fight in close range.

I was thinking of getting Kiba beneath Torune with Hiding Like A Mole Jutsu, then attack him from the ground up with a Passing Fang. If he misses, Kiba will immediately Kawarimi with a explosive tag attached log.

Wait, is Neji is still there. Oops.

Then they could scream at eachother.

Oh no, I didn't mean to imply that it wasn't a good plan. Jest setting expectations. I was thinking we could do something where Torune tears through the plan, and then goads them into taijutsu. Or tells them straight up "fight me up close or you won't pass" which is what makes this a choice. Torune don't play no softball
 
Just to clear something up, @drasky, Neji doesn't have Vacuum Palm just yet. However! Gentle Palm doesn't actually involve touching your enemy very hard, otherwise they'd break their fingers. According to the wiki it's a needle of chakra that hits the enemy. On the other hand, Torune's insects may or may not disrupt the needle enough that it doesn't do the same amount of damage to him as it normally would, depending on how much chakra they have. Neji could improvise widening the needle so that he doesn't have to touch Torune, but it would only kill the insects, it wouldn't hurt Torune.

Alright, so Kiba announces the plan, Torune tear it apart, goes after Ino maybe?, then that scene happens. I want it to happen, it would make Neji and Kiba get alpng worse as well.

We can add him trying that after Torune tears the plan apart and just before Kiba uses the Passing Fang, Exploding Kawamiri combo.
 
Eh, I would have suggested Kiba lead in with his speed, Neji follows after to take him once he's 'off-balance' ( :rofl: ) and Kiba comes at him from behind. Also... gloves. It probably won't work for full on hits, but it should be enough to protect Neji's taps and Kiba's swipes for long enough to get a decent hit on him. Not that we have any on us right now. And they'll disrupt the Gentle Fist slightly. Sigh.

Are we doing the test immediately or what?

Just throwing something out there, Neji using Kunai instead of Gentle Fist, but in the Gentle Fist stance?

I don't believe any of you came equipped with gloves. And yes, the test is right now. You can ask him questions if you want, but there's no real gear preparation. What you get is what you got. As for kunai in the gentle fist stance, well, that seems like it would have stability problems? Like adding weight to a style built to not have any seems a bit unworkable, but you can try it of course.

Anyway, we don't have to come up with a brilliant plan, but if it comes to it we can have Neji and Kiba rip some of their clothing and wrap their hands in it. This is, after all, or team's first fight, so it cannot have perfect planning or teamwork.

Also, I'm pretty sure that Neji and Ino can figure out that he has an antidote if he's willing to use the poison on Genin, but Ino can mention it, Sailor.
