The light of day regress into dusk. Darkness claims the world once more. It soothes your very core, coaxing you from a deep slumber. A sobering sensation hits you before any other can be registered.
HUNGER
A hunger of ages. Your stomach is empty and your throat drier than the desert. How long has it been since this body of your acquire sustenance. How long did this hibernation last? It matters not, for there are no real methods to measure it. The world had changed much. Time to savor the world of man.... and it's inhabitants.
EXTERMINATE THE WEAK
The sun. Persistent. It's magnificent golden glow refuse to fade. How disgustingly incandescent. Still, it is always brightest before dark. You can even feel the intensity receding.
IT BURNS
Strange stone pillars have been erected around your chamber. Lights are lit within them, as can be seen through their glass-holes. Humanity, ever the fan of eccentric designs.
DISGUSTING
You darted from the treeline, across the stone pillars, atop interconnected metal pole avoiding sight. This human city feels so maze like. Do these creatures so in need of a captor, that they confine themselves in a stone cage? You just know it is human creation. It reeks all over of them.
EASIER FOR US TO SUBDUE
Finally, a lone prey, female from the looks of it, walks through a lonely road. By now, the sun had nearly fully set. Still, these metal poles adorning fenced streets starts emitting light. Bright white light. How troublesome. But where light are given, the darker the shadows cast. Already ahead of you, a group of humans squats by. Odd clothing, but what caught your attention most are the mask some of them wore. Brigands? Most likely. What other reason should they have to conceal, other than deflecting the sin of plunder?
OUR PLUNDER
Already, the armed brigands halted the prey's path. The prey is unwilling, but she realizes her powerlessness. The brigands laughed. Laughter of triumph.
OUR TRIUMPH
Your mouth waters...
You can't handle yourself much longer. You must EAT EAT EAT! But which one? So much to choose, JUST EAT THEM ALREADY!
[] Claim your righteous prey | THE LION SHALL NOT BE DENIED HIS MEAL!
[] Devour the brigands | SUCH INSOLENCE MUST BE PUNISHED!
[] Let the wolves have their fill, then we claim what's left | WE ARE NOT FILTHY VULTURES!
[] Find a different prey. This one is claimed | NO NO NO NO!
Yes, we must show them the price of offending their betters.
CRUSH THESE FOOLS! MAKE THEM AN EXAMPLE TO THE OTHERS!
Gracefully, like feather you landed behind the rowdy masses. Your presence was concealed long enough to be in arms reach of them. The armed brigands, realizing that you are there, fearlessly approached. There is even a tone of ridicule in their speech. Does he not realize what you are? Have your kind slumbered for so long, the people of this land forgot who their masters are? No matter.
CRUNCH
A large portion of his head is devoured in a single bite, resulting in a sanguine fountain. The dead brigand's body still stands upright, shaking, as do his companions whom will face the same fate. A truly delicious opening to your grand feast.
REVEL IN RED
But first, you dealt with your original prey. There she lies on the ground, unconscious. Typical of the lesser species, this one could not stomach the reality she's in. At the very least her death will be painless. As for the brigands, they had already started a sprint. One of them hilariously tripped along the way. When the failed escapee heard your footsteps, and see your shadow over his body, steam rises up from his crotch along with a puddle of water. Whimpering and sobbing, he starts muttering in a language foreign to you, most likely asking for mercy. Of course, this did not stop you from lifting him up and savoring his fear....
THERE CAN BE NO MERCY
"STOP!"
A sharp push was felt on your back, knocking you off balance enough to let go of the fallen brigand.
WHO DARES DISTURB OUR MEAL
Turning around, you see a man regaining his footing. No doubt he used all of his momentum to drive that kick just now. You didn't think much of him but yet another foolhardy human, until a glowing object manifested on his waist.
"Henshin!"
A blast of light covers the man. In the after glow, an armor of bright crimson stood before you. Proudly, it took a fighting stance, ready face its adversary. Perhaps tonight's hunt would not be too dull...
GLORIOUS BATTLE UPON US

Tied. Since the limb vote is secondary, I'll tiebreak for the two offensive choice. Talons is (1) and organ is (2)
With a mighty battlecry, the crimson warrior launched himself into battle. It is clear that he stood above the rest in combat prowess. Despite donning a seemingly heavier armor, his punches and kicks did not lose out in speed and dexterity. Despite all that, you wield superior agility. Effortlessly, his blows were dodged, despite the power it carries. A tinge of inexperience can be felt from his fighting style. The warrior's movements are too wide, and his footwork reeks of that of an apprentice. Abusing this, you created some distance, preparing for ranged engagements.
Volatile liquid leaps forth beyond your jaw, burning through the black stone road and grey walls lining it. Your target was successfully hit, his armor's surface boiling. The warrior was pushed down onto the ground, either from the impact or pain. Still, he recovers at just the right time to dodge the second volley of acid. A third shot was launched, but this only slightly grazed the warrior who wizened up to your tactics. It seems he is trying to flee, until you saw what he truly aimed for. The club wielded by the dead brigand.
"Chou henshin!"
A blue light wraps the crimson warrior, though you're prepared for the trick this time. Now, the crimson warrior is clad in blue, lighter armor. The club he wielded had also changed form, taking the shape of a mesmerizing polearm.
The fight continues, this time the warrior was able to match your speed. Perhaps even more so. Your acid spit found itself in a harder time at landing on its target, the armor-clad warrior effortlessly zipping pass it. You only found hand to hand combat left in your arsenal, and even that is made hard with the long reach of your adversary's weapon. As it stands, this fight will only become harder for you by the second. What shall be your next step?
[] The opponent is physically weaker then he is before. Bide time to find gaps in his attacks
[] Retreat, there is no need to sustain any more damage.
[] One of the brigands you were about to kill is still petrified by fear. Use him as a shield.
[] Write-in
Sorry for the slow update. Lost my will to live yesterday.
The brigand squealed in fear as he's lifted up and grappled by the neck, hoisted between you and the armored warrior. Hesitation sets in on your adversary, unwilling to risk the life of his fellow human, even this lowlife. Of course, this works in your favor. Repeatedly, you taunt your enemy and wound the hostage, tempting him to make a move. Surprisingly, he didn't. Instead, he stood silently for a moment before taking a stance. This time, a purple light emanated from his belt.
"Chou henshin!"
His appearance changed yet again, this time donning heavier armor and wielding a large sword that replaces his previous weapon. He then advanced towards you and the hostage. However, you realized there is a dramatic drop of speed in his movements, no doubt caused by the increase in weight of armor. Abusing this, you peeked over your hostage and spit multiple volley of acid, all hitting its mark. You released a triumphant cackle, until the smoke that rises from him had settled.
Not even a scratch! The warrior is amazingly unharmed! He's advancing at the same slow pace as he did just a moment ago, unfazed by your attacks. Before you could do anything else, his hand reached for yours, yanking the hostage off of you. After that, a swift kick pushed you back.
"SOREYAAA!"
A shrill battle cry was heard. When you realized it, the warrior's sword is already embedded into your side. It missed your vitals for the most part, but certainly leaves enough damage to immobilize. It was pushed even deeper, then violently pulled out. You're not dead, yet the warrior walked away. Mercy? No. A burning pain sets in from your newly acquired wound. A strange glowing mark appeared...
Then comes the painful eruption, and consciousness fails you....
Your eyes open, the ceiling light nearly blinding you. Before you, a girl clad in school uniform seems amused at your lack of enthusiasm in the morning.
Akiko Narumi. Age 15, middle school student. She's a perky young lady predisposed to harmless mischief. She had a good heart though, and you're sure her reason for waking you up from your beauty sleep is nothing close to malevolent.
"Agito-san, I reheated the left overs from last night. You're free to eat it whenever you want but wash the dishes later 'kay?"
And with that, the girl sped out of the room. You're left dazed with the.... dream.... you've just experienced. This is not the first time you've dreamed of being whatever that was, tearing apart other humans and eating them. This is the first time you're ever been stopped, and surprisingly by him.
Your stomach is growling fiercely, feeling the very same hunger the monster in your dreams felt, but without the cravings for human flesh. Washing your face comes first though, and you make haste for the bathroom. The tap opened, you rinse off the sleepiness away and brushed your teeth. The mirror in front of you reflects your appearance.
Agito. Hajime Agito. That's your name. You're currently staying in the Narumi Detective Agency Office belonging to Soukichi Narumi, Akiko's father. You've been a homeless amnesiac due to unknown reasons for the previous 5 years or so and somehow finding yourself in Fuuto City. With the aforementioned man's help, you were able to recover your identity, but in a chain of unfortunate event losing your job and possession from before your loss of memory. Yours was the last case solved by Soukichi before he head off to god knows where. The office was left under Akiko's name, but largely under your care to pay back your debts towards her father. That's nearly half a year ago. Now, the office is widely known for....
[] Hiring worker for odd jobs. You were a construction worker before being an amnesiac and that is about the most you can do for this place.
[] Finding lost pets. Being an ex-police officer, you have at least some sense in doing low end investigating like this.
[] Hired muscle. You were a street thug, but now you're mostly paid to fend off similar low lives and loan sharks by desperate business owners.
wew this is a long one. Couldn't find a way to make two separate post out of it. Either way, I'm glad that the story can finally kick off for real. Also, should i make a separate post to compile characters and location for the sake of cohesion?
[X] Finding lost pets. Being an ex-police officer, you have at least some sense in doing low end investigating like this.
Dogs, cats, even pet lizards. You name it! Every so often careless pet owners or parents came to the office to make requests like these. Apparently Soukichi Narumi used to do these things on the fly in between cases, and you have to pick up on the slack since you've rejected most properly paying clients. It's not much, but enough to feed yourself.
On the small coffee table situated in the middle of a room, a bowl of miso soup and rice sat there still slightly steaming. This is where Soukichi greets his clients, but has since been used as a place where you laze about. Most that came to this office did not stay for even a single cup of coffee anyway. Bookshelves, drawers and a desk that the detective owned are left untouched for months, leaving it covered with dust and cobwebs. You've peeked inside. The contents are old case files and law books neatly arranged awaiting use. None of it sparked interest, not that you're even thinking of bothering it in the first place, mind.
After finishing your breakfast, you laid down on one of the couched in the room. There haven't been any client for nearly a week now, which is bad news for your financial health. You know Akiko's been putting up posters around town to advertise, but the flow of clients had been as irregular as ever. The radio that you switched on and tuned into Windy City Radio to stave off boredom is blaring some low energy melancholic song, fitting for the rainy weather this morning.
Listlessly, you shift from one corner of the room to another, having nothing better to do. You start to idly inspecting the little trinkets that the office holds ranging from photographs and Soukichi's collection of head wear. Real classy ones. Finally, your eyes land on a single framed photo of a family of four. You recognize the little girl inside as Akiko and the grown man as Soukichi. The woman inside the photograph is most likely Soukichi's now divorced wife. The alst member of the family is a young man. He bears a passing resemblance to you, even sharing the same first name, Hajime Naruse. This is merely a coincidence, but it no doubt have spurred your savior to help you during your years long amnesia episode. Talking about him to Akiko seems to be a taboo topic. He disappeared some years ago, and it left a deep scar on the girl.
"Excuse me?"
You jumped in shock as a you noticed the voice calling out behind you. A girl in high school uniform. She's quite beautiful, and you swear you'd seen her somewhere before. In a magazine or something? As you try to recollect yourself, she continued.
"I'm sorry if I startled you. I pressed the bell a few times but I received no response. And the office seems to be open, so...."
"N-no! It's fine. I was just spacing out a bit there, miss.", you hastily answered, putting down the framed photograph.
"No, the fault is mine. Say, you look familiar mister. Could you be.... Soukichi Narumi? Owner of this detective agency? I would like to hire you for a private investigation."
A client! but this does not seem like the typical runaway pet kind of clients. You're not sure you're experienced enough for cases like this. To add to that, the girl seems to have mistaken you for someone else! What do you do?
[] Accept the case and invite her for a cup of coffee.
[] Decline, this might be too big for your breeches.
