Just somewhere to practice my writings for various fandoms and/or original writing and perhaps get a constructive criticism or two.
Unexpectedly, There's Something Wrong with Mister Heinz Doofenshmirtz [Oregairu/Phineas & Ferb]

A random snippet I cobbled together in two days. A bit of practice to get the character's voices right. Hope you enjoy.

Mostly crack. So please don't take it too seriously.

Unexpectedly, There's Something Wrong with Mister Heinz Doofenshmirtz [Oregairu/Phineas & Ferb]

"Community Service?" The words tasted bitter in Hachiman's mouth. "Since when do school clubs go around offering Community Service?"

"Since the start of this school year apparently," Yukinoshita said, holding the offending piece of paper in front of her courtesy of Hiratsuka-sensei. Hachiman glared at it, wishing it would burn just from his gaze alone. When it didn't work, he spoke up.

"So what jobs are currently available?" He said. Hopefully, it won't be too hard. Preferably in-door.

"Most of the good and fun ones are already taken by the other clubs." Yuigahama said, holding another piece of paper. "Let's see... the Soccer Club have a training exercise with a nearby elementary school... the Music Club decided to host a public performance free of charge..."

Hachiman snorted. Good and fun ones? More boring and troublesome. Then again, better the normies than him.

Yuigahama squinted. "And the Tennis Club have something called a...Cosplay Match...?"

"C-cosplay Match?!" Immediately he scooted closer beside Yuigahama to get a better view of the paper.

"H-hey, Hikki?!"

There it was written on the piece of paper in front of him. The Tennis Club under Totsuka Saika were going to perform a cosplay match for a charity fundraiser.

Hachiman coughed to the side. "W-we could try joining the Tennis Club in their activity. Besides, the Service Club has helped the Tennis Club before in the past, right?"

"Unfortunately, that's impossible." Yukinoshita said, crushing his dreams before his eyes. "Each club had to do their own unique activity independent from each other. What other options are there, Yuigahama-san?"

"Let me see..." Yuigahama said. "Hmm. There's a notice for help in cleaning up the Inage Seaside Beach... taking of the plants on the Chiba Central Park... there's even a request to help with a construction work."

Hachiman scowled. "Yeah, I think I'll pass."

"I... concur." Yukinoshita coughed. "While there is certainly good to be done in these activities, the Service Club is unfortunately short on manpower for these kinds of works. Anything much simpler, Yuigahama-san?"

"Oh, this one sounds interesting," Yuigahama placed the paper down on the table, allowing Yukinoshita and Hachiman a closer look. "A request for volunteers to help set up a small convention for a group called..." She frowned. "Love...Muffin...?"

"Love Muffin?" Hachiman. "What's that? Some sort of baking group?"

"It doesn't say here." Yuigahama said.

"Love...Muffin...?" Yukinoshita raised an eyebrow and then stood up before suddenly pacing around the room.

Seeing Yukinoshita's strange behavior, Hachiman and Yuigahama shared a glance.

"Is- is something wrong Yukinon?" Yuigahama asked tentatively.

"Love Muffin." Yukinoshita tasted the phrase. "I think I've heard that before." She turned back to Yuigahama and Hachiman. "Who made the request?"

"Oh, it's someone called Doctor Duf-" Yuigahama cuts herself off. "Doctor Dufen- no, that's Doofan...Dufan?"

"Let me take a look." Hachiman said, taking a closer look. "Doctor Doofen...smith? No, wait. Doctor Doofensmirk?"

It was then that Yukinoshiya decided to intervene. "Doctor...Doofenshmirtz?"

Edit: Yup, basically the Service Club meeting Dr. Heinz Doofenshmirtz

"Hikigaya-kun...are you sure this is the right place?"

The day was dark and raining. So much so that Hachiman had difficulty looking nearby at Yukinoshitas's expression.

Despite her neutral face, there was no denying the small hint of incredulousness in Yukinoshita's tone. Not that Hachiman could blame her. Even he is starting to wonder if this was all some elaborate prank.

He looked at the map. Then at the address given to them via the Cross-Chiba Councelling Email.

"Yup...This is it." Hachiman said.

The building was... Well to put it lightly, it was certainly eye-catching. In contrast to the urban grey and white and blue around it, the D.E.Ink 2 building as it was called was painted with the most conspicuous color of purple Hachiman had ever seen. The shape of the building itself was even stranger. The top of it almost look like the letter F or a pipe wrench decorated with teal-green glass.

Those by themselves would have made for quite a sight, but compounded by the weather, the dark clouds, the rain, the thunder, it made for an uneerie and foreboding aura. Lightning flash above them. In a single moment, the black clouds turned white, illuminating the building with a violet afterglow.

"Well, we better go in before the weather gets any worse..." Hachiman said.

"Agreed."

"Yeah."

They went through the revolving door. Out from one darkness... Into the arms of another.

"What the hell?" Hachiman said. "Is the electricity off or something?"

The entire floor- no, it seemed that the entire building was completely pitch-black. A flash of lightning from outside illuminated the room for a single moment before it was swallowed up again by the seemingly living mass of shadows.

"This- this all looked a bit creepy, d-don't you think?" Yuigahama asked furtively.

"Is there a power outage going on?" Hachiman asked out loud.

Yukinoshita shook her head. "I don't think so, there's nothing being mentioned on the news about a power outage and besides, other buildings outside seemed to work perfectly well." She looked around, trying to peer into the darkness. "If anything, this may be a localized thing."

Just this building then. Great, Hachiman thought. Their first day on the job and they already have a power outage to deal with.

"Let's just get this over with." Hachiman grumbled, but he only managed to take a few steps, before he stopped. "Huh?"

He tried to raise his leg, only to fail as he felt something sticking tightly on his foot. "What the heck?!"

"Hikki, what's the ma-" Yuigahama began to say, only to pause as she too felt her feet getting stuck. "Eh?"

"Hikigaya-kun, Yuigahama-san is everyth-" Yukinoshita tried to take a few steps towards them, only to arrive on a similar predicament. "I- Wh- what is this?"

"Yukinon!" Yuigahama tried to take a step back, only to find her other foot sticking onto the floor. "What- what's happening?"

"Something's sticking our feet to the ground." Hachiman said as he tried and failed to move either foot. Did someone spill glue onto the floor or something?

"Wh- what should we do?"

"It's no use," Yukinoshita said. "Our shoes are completely trapped. We should remove them and slowly step back the way we ca-"

Just as Yukinoshita said that though, there was a loud bang behind them. A large slab of metal suddenly fell upon the entrance, closing them off from the outside world completely.

"Is someone playing a prank on us?!" Hachiman said. Are they in some weird TV show specializing in pranking unsuspecting individuals?

"If it is, then I don't see much humour in this...elaborate jest!"

"Agreed."

"Y-yeah!"

Suddenly, light flooded the room. A sudden burst of white blinded all of them and when the Service Club managed to open their eyes it was to the sight of a monster.

That was the closest Hachiman could come to describing the sight in front of him. A hideous youkai like one illustrated in those old manuscripts.

A pale, gaunty thing with bony hands and frame. It was tall, or it would have been if not for the slouched posture it wore, giving a strangely grand-fatherly vibe. A pointedly crooked nose, a sharp chin, and messy brown hair. Worst were the eyes: large pair of dark blues with bags underneath that would have given Hachiman's dead fish eyes a run for their money.

"Hey! You're not Perry the Platypus."

As one, the Service Club screamed.
