Pain is something that you have started to grow use to, more in the emotional since then the physical, though you have had to deal with that as well.
Your name is Taylor Hebert, and everything in your life has gone down hill since your mother died a few months ago. Your father's become more distant, and your best friend, Emma, has gone insane and seems to hate you know. You don't know what happened to her, and she refuses to talk about it.

You wish that she would open up, hell you wish your dad would open up to you. He's been so distant since your mom died, he simply won't open up. He's pushed everything that reminds you two of your mom down into the basement, out of sight.

So here you are, down in the basement, looking around. Nothing is sorted, and it's just resulted in that you can't find your moms flute. It would be something to hold onto, a small item that you could hold onto. But how are you suppose to find it among everything else down here?

You blink at the sight of a box... looking thing. It's frame is a dark black metal, and the sides are a deep brown wood, with etchings of some thing on it. You pick it up, looking the thing over, as you do you see that one of the front panels moves slightly.

And that's when an audible thrumming sound started to resonate through the room.

You nearly drop the case right then and there...

But you don't.

Something, something grabs hold of you, some part of you has to wonder... What's inside the box? What's making the sound?

So with a shaky hand, you reach up and slide the front, and find a book inside.

The symbol on the front matches the symbol on the front of the box. With delicate hands you pull the book out, and place the box on a nearby surface. You look over the book, and find a name written into it's spine.

Waking Dreams.

You bit your bottom lip as your mind starts to race. You kind of want to read the book, your dad won't be back for a few hours, so you don't have to worry about him hearing the strange sound that it makes.

On the other hand it's making a sound and you should probably not read it anywhere that your dad might find you reading it. Books don't normally make sounds and if it's your moms that he probably doesn't want to be near it.

What do you do?

Reading a Book
You slide the book back into the case, before running up the stairs. While it's not what you had entially set out looking for, it's grabbed your interest. You carefully move through the rooms making sure not to bump into anything in your hurry to your room.

You figure the best way to read the book would be to drown out the sounds that it makes, and what better way to do so then with some music?
What music do you put on anyways? (Characterisation vote, since I can't remember anything about her music taste in canon.)
[ ] Write-in

With some music on you pull the book back out of the case, you settle down and open it open. Your eyes roll over the aged pages to read the text.

The eyes, once bleached by falling stars of utmost revelation

That's all you managed to read on the first page, before you were shocked as green tendrals started to spew from the books pages, circling around your arms and keeping you from droping the book.

You could only watch in fear as the tendrils started to wrap around the rest of your body, before everything faded away as you vision failed.

It takes a few moments for your vision to return, but once it does you know well enough that things are getting really weird. You found yourself standing on a platform made of some kind of stone, while on your left and right there are stacks of books that tower over you, being possibly four or five stories tall.

Add to that the green sky with the waves of something going through them, you had no idea where you were.

But then things managed to get even weirder, when dark spots appeared in the air with more of the green tendrils coming out, and a few large bulbous eyes.

"So, another seeker of knowledge enters my realm. Welcome, I am Hermaeus Mora, Prince of Fate, and lord of secrets. This is Apocrypha, where all knowledge is hoarded. Perhaps you are cleaver enough, to uncover the secrets hidden here."

Your eyes stay locked on the floating appendages, as the voice speaks, the words echoing around you.

"If you tire of the search, read your book again, to return to your mortal life. For a time..."

Your eyes flicker to the large book that your at them moment clutching to your chest, but before you could make a move the voice speaks once more.

"The lure, will call you back, it is, your fate, much like your mothers..."

You look back to the appendages, but they are receding into the darkness from which they were coming from, and before you could speak up, they were gone, leaving you alone.

You glance around and could see a few stone table things around... possibly they could help you...

If you decided not to go home.

What to do?
[ ] Read the book – This wasn't what you were expecting to happen when you read the book.
[ ] Look at the tables around – Perhaps there was something nearby that you could use to help you.
[ ] Just keep going – There's a door you can see behind you, perhapse you can just go ahead and look around.
