It's been a week since you all landed in this place and it's only now you notice how it is not a hospital like you all thought at first, which probably had to do with all the doctors and nurses fussing over everyone while interns hovered worryingly beside them, that unique smell of sanitation all hospitals seem to have, and the intermittent admittance of a patient.

Your first clue that this wasn't a hospital was when a man in a business suit and a black mask stepped into the ward. At first, you all wondered if he was some philanthropist coming to visit those who were injured. That was until he started to walk towards your part of the ward with purpose. None of you recognized him. Then again, Narwhal was younger than she was in canon so you all chalked it up to differences in this universe, thinking you would recognize him sooner or later. It lasted until he introduced himself as Keter.

He talked about how you were in the Stronghold, the home of the Wardens and about how the Wardens were a group of Parahumans dedicated to acts of heroism. He talked about how the Shepherds were a danger to everyone and that they needed to be put down.

Then he dropped a bomb by asking you if you would join the Wardens in their fight against the Shepherds and all Evil, assuring you that you had a choice and that you had time to think about it. With that he walked away, still looking as if he has a purpose instead of just finishing with one.

What do you do now?

Who are the Wardens, what organizational support can you offer me if I marry the ship of my destiny to your rudder? Who are the Shepherds? What villains are there in this city?"

The man spoke with a distant, detached tone, moving little at all. His eyes had a glassy, vacant gaze to them, seemingly lost in thought. His stare seemed to go for a thousand yards, or perhaps further, crimson irises vacantly resting on this Keter's solar plexus.

'So formal...'

Alice frowned and looked around idly. They had been here for a week now and she didn't particularly enjoy the Hospital air, but maybe now that this Keter had spoken to them they would finally be let out.

That in mind she decided to find one of the doctors and ask if they were free to leave now, or at least when they had given their answer to Keter. She had a feeling her benefactor was impatient for her to leave as well.

One week.
One week since I came to... Earth Bet.
One week since I became.. me.
Not this, like what I started out thinking about my new self.
Me.
Laura Artoria Casta Pendragon.
Well, that was going to be the full name... the true name.

Laura A.Casta or even Laura Knight would do nicely.

I had tried to get information as soon as I was a bit over the hill mentally, as well as I could..
and yes, even in this Grimdark place, I was trying.. thiking.. dreaming.. of becoming.. Shitou Emiya would be so proud... an Hero.
What else? I wanted to do something with my new life. My powers as an fully independent Heroic spirit.
And besides, I dreamed.. Lillys dreams now.

So, why did I not immediatly and Gratefully jumped at the call when the masked man who had adopted the name of the First Sephiroth- KETER, the Crown had issued
"why was I saying "Sir, may I have some time to consider that carefully?

It sure was not cowardice.?

No.It was the fact that while there was lots of idealism behind my blue eyes, i also was not the young warrior princess White saber was. I was older an a tiny bit wiser in the ways of the world, or so I hoped. Also, there were the others. I hoped I could talk this over with them.
I also hoped they would let us.
But if not.. it is really hardt to keep an Heoric Spirit captive...

This is so epic.

I'd never read the original Worm, hell I'd only even heard about through fanfiction, but once I got into it I was hooked. To be here, in the setting, it just blew me away.

I looked down at my hands, watching the whitish blue glow of Aura dance across them, a smiled so wide I thought my face would split. Powers. I had powers.

I'd emphasized with Greg Veder when reading through the Wormverse, we had a lot of the same characteristics, a lack of insight into how people worked, an inability to keep our mouths shut, a general naivety that seemed to kill most interactions with girls before they began. I liked to think if he had powers he'd be reacting the same I was, watching the glow of energy with childish wonder, a small mix of a giggle and chuckle rising up out of me.

I looked back and forth before my eyes landed on a guy a few feet away with red hair and what looked like orange/yellow eyes. I leaned over and held out a hand, eyes still shining even as the glow on my skin started to fade.

"Hey, my name's Markus. Markus Azer, a pleasure to meet you".

@Seru

I frowned, watching silently as Keter marched out. I did not understand any of this. This ordeal, this transdimensional travel, this paralell universe bullshit, it was all so confusing to me.

I knew of this world, or at least, I thought I did, but I actually didn't. The world had changed somehow, a butterfly had beed working hard, and now I know nothing. All I knew that it was both better and worse than what I thought I knew.

Turning toward the window of my room, I reached out opened it. My form rippled, shifting and flowing as flesh turned to sand. After I'd discovered my power, the first thing I did is to ask for permission to go out and roam the Stronghold. The people in charge had allowed it on condition that I stay out of certain places. A moment later, I was outside; a cloud of sand descending into the yard below.

I also knew that I did not belong here. My place was elsewhere. More than that, I also had an indentity. I answer to the name Flint, yet flint was not the totality of me. Flint was afraid, he didn't want to be here, he wanted to go home, to run away. Yet, while I was in this form, I was more than that. I was unafraid. I did not care for things that were out of my control. Flint was afraid, but this part of me simply acted.

I descended onto an empty corner, my form spread thin as I felt the world within me and around me. This form was odd like that. I had no eyes, no ears, nothing, yet I perceived all the same. My control and awareness over my sand was amazing, and it was through that that Iperceived. I "heard" noises by feeling the vibration within the air impacting the particles. I "saw" by feeling light reflecting off the particles. It was so similar, yet different in everyway.

This form, it granted me freedom. It granted me peace. I granted me safety. I felt oddly invincible in this form, something that I knew was patently false. Most importantly, it granted me the freedom I needed to think on Keter's offer.

In the end, it didn't matter much to me. Flint wanted to protect those people, to make their world better in anyway I could. I will do exactly that. I had power, and I needed a cause. Here was a cause. One that I shall follow. There was not much to it.

With that set, I returned to the building. I flowed through it, a mass of sand traversing the corridor as I seeked out this Keter to give my answer.

Hands deep within the recesses of his hoodie, the boy tilted his head and popped his neck as his gaze darted across the street. It was familiar. Oh so familiar.

There was an Ice Cream Vendor with quite the line built up around his cart, yet he took it all with a smile as he handed treats to children. Nerds and Teens laughed outside of the Gaming Shop, comparing builds for the newest RPG. Construction workers toiled and sweat upon their tools, mixing cement and digging the foundations of a new building for the city. They talked about going for a beer after work at the new pub downtown, and how the stupid new manager didn't know heads or tails of safety protocols. An irritated restaurant worker dumping frying grease that was apparently "too dirty" for use, into an alleyway. Strolling down the sidewalk, he watched the world as it passed by, people laughing with friends and milling about their everyday lives, an ambulance blaring down the street beside him.

Yet it wasn't his.

He watched the crowds as they moved, ignorant of the foreign and alien land they inhabited. The Ice Cream the vendor sold wasn't in the shape of Spongebob or Superman, but of unfamiliar icons, their capes of vanilla and masks of strawberry unknown to him. T-Shirts that most likely held geeky Pop-Culture references of this world held no meaning to his mind, games that never existed were hailed as classics. As he walked past the construction workers, snippets of conversation worked it's way into his ear, the men chatting about not a fire or tornado that razed the building, but of the cape battle between two local Villains.

Closing his eyes, he allowed the breeze to sweep through his hair.

This had gone on for a week.

Wake up, get ready, eat, walk through town, eat, walk some more, eat, get ready, sleep.

And all throughout the day-

"Angst, angst, angst.." The boy muttered, his face twisting into a light scowl.

Angsting over how the rest of his little group had seemingly received otherworldly powers, all except him. Angsting over how he was still a normal, forgettable teen in the crowd. Angsting how he would have been able to brush that off, if not for the fact that they were stuck in a warped version of one of the most Grimmdark worlds in the multiverse.

Angsting over his position would get him nowhere.

So instead?

"I think i'll go out to eat today." The scowl set upon his face softened into a small smile as he idly mused to himself.

Placing his hand over the small wallet in his pocket, he licked his lips.

As generous as his so-called heroes were, their cafeteria food was still shit.

As the completely normal boy walked across the city to buy take out, he never noticed the tinted car trailing his path, the man inside communicating by futuristic comm link. Or the raggedly dressed, knife wielding, vagabonds crouched behind the dumpster, waiting for the boy to pass by their alleyway. Or even the woman hidden beneath the shadows, closely watching the boy.

Nor did he notice the horrific t-bone car crash instantly killing the driver inside, as they had forgotten to take their broken brake into the car shop for months now.

Nor the band of thugs screaming in pain from the boiling grease dumped upon their smoking skin.

Nor the shadowbound woman knocked out from a falling box of construction tools.

Not one of those events did he witness as he whistled his way to the nearest Chinese place.

I must say I'd been quite surprised to end up in Worm, but I'd quickly gotten over it because BOOKS! So many books of all shapes and sizes, accessible with a wave of my hand. Currently I've been reading a translated version of the Epic of Gilgamesh, and I must say it's surprisingly entertaining. Perhaps that's because it's written by Fate Gilgamesh himself, but I digress.

I look up from my wonderful book to see the door closing, before tilting my head confusedly. Did someone come in while I was reading. "Freaking Mongrels interrupting my book." I mutter, before I go back to reading.

Slade lets the others talk and listen to Keter, remaining quiet himself. This world has a few similarities to the one we had all heard about, but so many differences as well. The Wardens are a strong group, but no idea as to whether they'll be what Slade wants. Heck, even Slade is uncertain what path he'll take. Still, it's been too long just waiting about here, Slade's going to check if he can open up a Corridor of Darkness. Those are shortcuts between the Realm of Darkness that Xemnas could open, does this multiverse have anything similar? He won't open one right away if he can, but it's always good to know if you have a decent getaway card.

"Freaking Mongrels interrupting my book."

Slade turns over to Ax Williams "Sorry to further interrupt your reading, but I was wondering if you could shed some further light on the situation we're all in. Your books have knowledge of just about anything, no?"

@Asterion

"This humble unworthy is Peter Emile, the Red Song." He spoke softly, his eyes sliding to look his conversation partner over. "Does the light of your soul shield? Do you carry the warmth of Hagomoro with you?" He extended his hand slowly, as if he was unsure of his own body. "Does matter morph to your whim?"

He took Azer's hand in his, and let his other drift to form a firm grip, the squeeze of those two showing he was moderating his grip as much as he could not to hurt his partner.

His emotions showed a crushing despair, and a deep confusion. His gaze swept slowly over the room. "Is there a psychic in the room? This unworthy doth have need to destroy the memories that are no longer of use to him."

"The Red Song huh", I said, "That's a cool title. Light of my Soul, Aura, you have it too don't you?"

"I don't know who Hagomoro is, but it sounds familiar. As for matter, well...", I slowly reached out a hand, palm up, and focused on the energy I'd been feeling throughout the week. Slowly, the Glow of my Aura began to shimmer across my body, before what resembled a blue, ethereal flame flickered around my hand.

With a sound like cracking ice, a small blue cube of crystal began to form, no bigger than a baseball.

Idly I wondered if I'd have to use Handsigns for the Jutsu I'd gained, my Gnosis not providing the answer.

This world is far far different from the normal worm and I have an incredible set of abilities, as far as I can tell not one, but three freaking three different magical skill sets. Further more the skill sets included a great wealth of knowledge on there use and crafting with them. There is so much I can build with three magical skill sets. I even know why I am going to build it, one job and one job alone, killing all the end bringers.

However if there is one thing I know it is that I can trust no one in worm, except maybe the people I arrived with, I suppose some of them could be plants, I better be careful the last thing the world needs is me making more dangerous weaponry. Hell at one point an entire species was wiped out with one ritual......oh the end-bringers but that type of ritual would take massive, massive power sources. It is something worth looking into. No it's to dangerous, If a human was killed instead I could wipe out all of humanity. No I will have to kill them in battle one at a time.

First I need to get some basic mastery of these powers, HP magic will have to wait until I have a wand, honestly no way around that. That leaves the force and DF magic. DF magic requires a true belief that I can do magic, I will have to work up to it. Leaving only the force, the most brute....force of the three.
I spend the week practicing with it, attempting to levitate ever larger objects, meditating on it, and trying to use it to enhance my movement. In time the force will be a big part of everything I do for now though I have to learn the most basic elements of it while await on my sponsor to return, where I will probably agree to the offer if it includes a private workshop.

"As I have said, the Wardens are a group of Parahumans dedicated to heroism. Membership with the Wardens gives you several benefits that affiliated non-members don't. This includes access to Tinker Tech, our Thinker Tank, Precog unit, financial support, housing, and a support system composed of all our members. The Shepherds are a group of Parahumans that once seemed to be a benign organization until one of our Stranger Hero managed to find out how exactly they were being 'benign.' They weren't. They were Mastering everyone by infecting them with the Voice of Peace."

He took a breath to calm down.

"As for the villains in this city, there are six major groups of Villains in this city. The Seventh Heaven, a group of religious Parahumans who have angel-based powers. Cat's Paw, a major thieving ring. Colosseum, an underground fight club infamous for forcing people to fight in death matches. Mjolnir, a Tinker group focusing on heavy duty vehicular technology. Vicario Familia, a mob family that's somehow made of Parahumans. The last is Throne. We have no information on them other than that they somehow kidnap people to kill them and then send their bodies back. That's all the time I have for now. Please think on your answer."

With that set, I returned to the building. I flowed through it, a mass of sand traversing the corridor as I seeked out this Keter to give my answer.

You found Keter talking to a kneeling giant of steel bristling with weaponry the likes of which were never seen years ago, but were now just footnotes in the list of firepower now present on Earth.

"Welcome back Tiamat. How was your mission?"

A hiss came out before the giant seemed to unfold and a woman jumped out, stretching.

"Thanks old man! It was a blast! Ironside was there along with that damned Arsenal! He's still as much as a stick in a mud as before! I have no idea how he hasn't been mastered or why he's allowed to associate with Heroes."

She pouted.

"I could've brought him in if it weren't for the stupid neutral grounds rules. I would've totally beaten him in a fight!"

Keter laughed at her before patting her head.

"There there. You can get him next time."

It was then he noticed you.

"Oh? Hello, Flint. Tiamat, this is Flint. Flint, meet Tiamat." He gestured at the young woman beside him, who waved at you enthusiastically.

"Hello!"

The Chinese place that, coincidentally, exploded right before you stepped in front of it. Laughter boomed out before a flaming body flew from the burning wreckage, passing over your head to crash behind you.

"Come! Come! Show me the might of he who calls himself a Ruler of hell! I shall show you your transgression!"

A demon shaped like a misshapen jackal walked out. One with dark skin, huge claws, large horns, a flaming red mane, and gold braces.

"For I am Ifrit! Lord of the Sixth Hell! Oh?"

He smiled viciously as he saw you.

"A sacrifice?"

Slade turns over to Ax Williams "Sorry to further interrupt your reading, but I was wondering if you could shed some further light on the situation we're all in. Your books have knowledge of just about anything, no?"
I look up from my book and turn to the person mongrel sitting next to me. "And why should I allow you access to even one of my treasures? And don't put us in the same boat, whatever 'situation' you are in, I'm sure it is of little matter to one such as I."

Ugh, I feel like such a condescending dick talking like that, but I know that Gilgamesh's ego was so great he actually had an immunity to most mental effects, and in a world where you didn't get a will power save, that was vital. Besides, I have plans to access some of the... darker books in my library, and I don't want to go completely insane when I do. If only I didn't have to sound like such a jackass in order to do it.

He looked at the young man with Chakra and Aura both, before nodding to him slowly. "Hagomoro was our progenitor, the father of Ninshu, the ancestor of Ninjutsu. You have Shoton, Crystal Release." He clapped a hand on the young man's shoulder. "My blessing is the Mokuton... Wood Release." Removing his hands gently to not hurt the young man, he turned, listening intently to Keter.

"I will have to reject your proposal for the time being, Lord Commander Keter. I do not think you would approve of the wholesale slaughter of The Seventh Heaven." His hands slowly turned into fists. His Aura burst into being, crimson light radiating like a liquid. His eyes burned with a similar, as he growled in his belly.

"Heathens. Heretics. False Apostles, and abominations to the eyes of my God Phoelarh. I will not let this stand. I will not let them live. The Sun-Father does not abide by the impersonation of his servants, nor does he allow those who break his taboos to let be. To bear a holy visage and to turn such to the works of Evil..."

His emotions changed from the sorrow and confusion to... Annoyance, and mild amusement. And hesitance. Entirely at odds with the scowl on his face, and the deepset frown.

Do not channel inner Xemnas, do not torture and turn him into a heartless, do not channel inner Xemnas...

Slade levels an unamused look at Ax. "I was asking because you're only ability is knowledge, which while useful, can leave you more vulnerable in a direct conflict. This would have been a chance for you to share some of that knowledge and possibly make some allies within the group. You are in the same situation as the rest of us: stuck in a new world with Enemies gunning for each of us. But if you feel, you're so above the rest of us, by all means keep to yourself. Have fun fighting your upgraded enemy all on your own."

Hopefully he'll won't raise much of a further fuss, but that arrogance could get old fast, especially with these Xemnas memories. Maybe try to have one of the others interact with him when we need the info. It'd be good if we could stick together for the most part with all our powers, but it seems unlikely given all the different personalities.

The boy hunched over, arms raised and eyes watering from the sheer temperature. In a desperate attempt to stop the burning winds and debris from searing his eyes, Casey turned his back on the Chinese Restaurant, only to find an even bigger problem facing him. Directly in front of him was a behemoth -not that one- of a canine, their snarling maw only meters from his face.

Oh Jesus Fu-Wha-Wait, sacrifice? Hell?

An unfamiliar world this may have been, but it still ran on the rules of Worm.. Probably. Hopefully.

But by the rules of Worm, there were no beings from Hell! That meant this guy was just a cape -a Changer no doubt- with Myrddin syndrome! Which still left the dilemma of a most likely murderous and deranged Pyrokinetic Changer who looked like the unholy long lost love child of Hookwolf, Lung, and one of Bitch's pets.

Shit.

Quivering in fear, he looked up once more, only to hear the sound of drooling jaws snapping. Why couldn't he have powers like the rest of his group, dammit?! He just had to be the only normal one, didn't he?! Hesitantly backing away from the Jackal cape, the hoodie garbed teen froze as a flaming wooden rafter impaled the ground just 2 feet behind his position.

Sweat dripping from his brow, he gulped. Was this it? Was this how he died? In front of a Chinese Takeout place by the hands of some dog?!

Wait, why was he even still standing here?!

"I could've just run.. hell, I should just flee.." He muttered beneath his breath. The boy lowered his head in shame and defeat. Just a week in this death trap of a world, and he was already dead..

Unbeknownst to both figures in front of the wreckage of the Chinese Takeout Place and in the middle of the street, about a block away from the action a truck driver had gone bereft of sleep for the past 2 nights in order to make his dire shipment on time. They had been late in their drop off for the past 4 jobs, and were in danger of losing their job if they were unable to get their shipment on time. As such, they had bought coffee and tried their best. The payload of his moving truck wobbled and shook as the driver dosed in and out of consciousness. Hands loosely draped over the steering wheel, the sleepless man squinted and blinked as they peered across the windshield. Perhaps he could close his eyes for just.. a few.. seconds..

What were they carrying?

They worked for a syndicate of circuses and zoos across the country, who helped transport cattle. All mutated of course, due to the otherworldly energies surrounding the earth. Despite this seemingly clean business, many of the organizations and facilities purchasing these poor animals were never the nicest. Abused, vicious, and filthy, animals like Sclorpions (Scorpion Lions) and Tigerdrakes slept caged within the dark and humid depths of the moving truck, often going days without food or water in the shaking iron box.

And don't even get us started on the fleas! What started out as tiny nuisances that could tap dance on pins were now giant, disgusting, creatures of blood and hate. Crawling around the walls and ceilings of the truck, they preyed on the sickest and frailest of the animals, waiting for the right moment to latch on and feed.

Unfortunately -or fortunately?- they all required something to take their anger and abuse out on.

A nervous doctor finally handed her some papers that let her sign out of the hospital-smelling place. She hadn't interracted much with her fellow dimension travelers, mostly staying in her room and processing the new world she had entered. It was very different from her last one after all. One would think you get used to revelations after the several mind shattering secrets her patron had showed her over the years, but this 'modern' world really was different.

Alice focused on the here and now again and handed in the papers.

She stepped out into the streets and took a long deep breath. Then she coughed because even if the air was better from the hospital, it still wasn't clean. With no real idea of where she was going, Alice wandered off in a random direction, hoping to find something interesting compared to the dull week she had in the not-hospital building.

Then she stopped when the so called 'cars' screeched to a stop and started making noises at her. Rude. But as she didn't want to cause a scene yet she instead waked off in another direction.

I took a step back, eyes wide with awe at the spectacle of energy before me, as well as the symphony of colors that flowed in the air around Peter, the mass of emotions appearing like an aurora.

I smiled and turned to Keter, "Sorry, but I think I'll stick with the sage here. I don't have any problem helping out if you need it, but with ours powers and the affect I have on the Parahumans here I think it'd be best if I ran with him".

(OOC: I apologise in advance but something seems to be up with my alerts. I've recently noticed I haven't been getting any fore somethings, and I didn't even get one when @Seru tagged me in his latest post, so I'm sorry if I miss anything and mess up through misinformation)

"That is fine. The Wardens are always open if you would like to join us with your friends. I hope for the best with your fortunes." With that, he left.

As you walked away from the cars, a man with white hair suddenly appeared right in front of you. There was no warning or any sign of him walking into your line of sight. One moment he wasn't there, the next he was.

He stared at you with a calculating gaze before smiling warmly at you.

"Well hello there. My name is Romani, but you can call me Roman." He gave a little bow before straightening up again. "What business does a powerful Warlock have to do in this city in ours?"

Ah, I spaced out again... I subtly activate my presence concealment and sneak out into the world. Hmm, where to go?

Ahah! Food! That is what I yearn for! To the nearest place that sells food!

And so I march on my merry way, still concealed.

I woke up.

I was confused, I was disoriented, and I knew not where I was. The only thing I can say for sure is that this place gave me bad vibes.

Shaking my head, I sighed. Why did I decide to take out a Gigai? If it wasn't for that I wouldn't even have been scratched!

"I shouldn't have done that," I said to myself as I stood up. Within a moment leaving my gigai, and decapitating the faux corpse. "I don't think I'm going to get into a body anytime soon, that was uncomfortable."

One week in this crazy world, and I had almost killed my mortal body once already. One week in this hellhole. Yet would I take it back? Of course not, I had power now.

And with it, maybe I could bring peace to this shithole called Earth.

Lovingly grasping the hilt of Kyoka Suigetsu, I started walking. "Dear, what do you think about getting some answers from the leader of this place?" I wasn't comfortable with these so-called Wardens, but it wouldn't hurt to look around.

My ears perk up and my head turns fast and hard.

"Wait, I'm sorry to overhear, but did you guys say ninjutsu and crystals? I have a very serious need for crystals, maybe we can work our some form of trade, working together is probably our best bet for survival anyways"

I smile to the two of them.

I lean back a little, surprised at his speed.

"Uh, sure in fact, here", I toss the Crystal cube to him, letting my Aura flow outwards with my Semblance, gently taking stock of his emotions about this whole situation.

Resolute is the strongest emotion, it screams of a man who has already found a mission and with a twinge of pride, maybe nobility. Hard to say what but there is a clear goal in his heart.

I move to hand the cube back.
"Thanks, but no, I'm going to need specific types and shapes of crystals, I have a few bits of magic I can do in trade, I'm hoping you guys and me have similar goals and we can help each other, I want to do more than survive you know?"
