It is November, the 9th, 1700. Charles II of Spain is dead and the Spanish Succession crisis is in full swing, Western Europe gathers to decide the fate of the Spanish throne. Meanwhile, in Northern Europe, Charles XII, the youthful inheritor of an expansive realm has shown his mettle, throwing Denmark back and forcing its submission with the aid of Anglo-Dutch fleets. The young king still faces heavy odds in the East however as ambitious rivals seek to throw back the Swedish realm into the sea.

Game Mechanics

Turns

In regards to turns, the turns can last anything from about half a year, which may be the case should Europe ever find itself in something similar to the 30 years war, to upwards of two years during times when Europe is in recovery or there simply isn't any war unfolding. I will tell at the start of turns how long the current turn will be.

Extensions are of course possible but do not count on them to be able to get orders in on time.

Orders

The game will have orders in it, orders can be whatever you want them to be, but there will be two different categories. Normal orders and war orders. The orders will be limited depending on the power of various nations.

  • A normal order can be anything from taxation systems, soldier equipment, building a fleet, roads, espionage, and so forth.
  • War orders are limited to military actions during a time of war. It cannot be used to train, equip, or otherwise use peacetime purposes. It is for the goal of conducting a military campaign.

Great powers: 5 normal orders. 4 war orders [There will be no great powers at the start of the game.]
Major powers: 4 normal orders. 3 war orders
Regional powers: 3 normal orders. 2 war orders
Small powers: 2 normal orders. 2 war orders

Each nation has the potential to rise up and claim any ranking through in-game actions.

National Statistics

To give a general idea of where each nation stands, statistics will be provided. These statistics can improve or decline depending on the in-game situation. It is important to note that these are general ideas and summaries and most orders will still come down to how thoughtfully they are written and how reasonable they are in light of in-game conditions.

Example NatStats

Kingdom of Denmark-Norway: Player name goes here.

Power Rank: The range is from Great power, Major power, Regional power, and Small power. This is followed by an (Improving) or a (Falling).

Example: Small Power (Improving)

Economic Condition: The range is from Excellent, Good, Fair, Stagnant, Recession, and Depression, with Excellent being the highest and Depression the lowest. These also come with stages inside of these - there are 3 stages to each, shown as a 1/3. This is followed by an (Improving) or a (Falling).

Example: Stagnant, 2/3 (Improving)

Special Factors: Depending on circumstances each nation may or may not have special factors aiding or hindering it.

Example: Unable to enforce the Sund Toll. (A major loss in finances - Denmark cannot improve its economy beyond [Fair, 1/3 (Improving)] without it.

Co-oping
You are more than welcome to coop a nation should you wish it, I do however want you guys as a co-op to select a primary player. That player does not have the right to the nation over the others in the co-op, but the primary player is responsible for sending in orders, asking for extensions, or making appeals. I just want one guy responsible rather than ending up promising different things to different people.

Technology
Technology will develop OTL unless there is a reason for it to go differently in-game. You can spend orders on something you want, but if we approach the point of metagaming, it will auto-fail. I leave that a risk for you guys to take.

can i be Johor Sultanate ? This is my chance the correct the wrong from other GSRP. This time i will try to not have the suffering. Plus i intend to stay away from the tornado vortex that is Europe.

1. Johor Sultanate
2. Johor Sultanate
3. Brunei Sultanate

You dared me. I deliver.
1. AntiWettin opposition in Polish-Lithuanian Sejm.
I have no 2nd nor 3rd option, because I have no idea what to take and I am too much stuck into it.

Hmm this looks like it could be fun, for now I'm looking at these:
1. Kingdom of England and Scottland
2. Tsardom of Rus
3. Savoy

1. The Ottoman Empire
2. The Great Moghul
3. The Papal States
(Please manage the Great Qing well, I dislike how they often turn into just westernization programs in these games, for no reason really)

You could be - but I might be less kind than Cloud xD I just want to warn…

Would be cool to take my third option, but knowing it is a small kingdom my claims are in the following order.

1. Moldavia
2. Joseon
3. Ryukyu Kingdom

1. The Ottoman Empire
2. The Great Moghul
3. The Papal States

Yeah, the Middle Kingdom is in zero need of modernization rn. Even with the Tokugawa Shogunate I have zero intentions to westernize myself, even if I commit harder to Rangaku then otl

Why "modernize" when you can simply centralize authority under an absolute monarch, I ask, looking at all three of my choices.
