So as I have writers block on my other project and this one seems interesting I'm starting a new quest. No idea how long it will last. Each turn will be 12 years long, and the voters will pick what the main character will focus on for those twelve years. Do they spend their time studying magic, sword fighting, trade, love? You decide.

However this is an Isekai, so there obviously has to be a menu. (plus it makes it easier to communicate what the guy is good and bad at) The way skills work in this setting is they represent the effort and recognition involved in a persons work. So rather than learning the Fireball skill to cast Fireball you will learn Fireball and receive a skill describing what you know.

One final warning. Turns are 12 years long. That means when starting as a human you only get 7 to 8 turns before you die of old age. Luckily that won't be the end, and not just because I won't stick with this long enough. Our main character doesn't get to just die and move on. Instead, they will keep on being reincarnated into new lives with their memories mostly intact.

Right, Tuck-Kun! Rev your engines!

The dead have a saying. Life is wasted on the Living. It's a good saying. Short, sweet, gets the point across. And, like most sayings, it is only a piece of the truth, limited by language and perspective. A more accurate version would probably be Those alive waste Life. Not that anyone dead would agree to that, after all, it is a prerogative of the dead to envy the Living. And Envy is a state of destruction, to drag the target down rather than lift the feeler up.

But what about those who straggle the line, who are not dead or alive. What do they think? What do you think?

[//////////]

hmmm, that's a point. Such beings can't really comprehend feelings of envy or waste. Your nature is too broken.

[///////////////////////////]

Hahahah, so even you can take exception to being called broken. Maybe this has potential after all.

[//]

Oh? Curiosity as well? Excellent. Wonderful. Fantastic.

Right. Right. So the Dead. As I said Envy is a state where you deny another. And the Dead are limited to it. After all only the Living can be Alive, and once you are alive you are no longer Dead. If the Dead were jealous of the Living they would deny their nature as Dead and thus no longer be Dead. Denying one's own nature is something you must know never ends well.

Ow. Lesson learnt. Anyway my new friend. I have an offer for you.

A life.

A coworker is having some trouble fixing the damage a pair of mortals did to their world, and your power would speed up the process by centuries. In return for lending your metaphorical aid, they have agreed to place your mind within a system of reincarnation. You will be free to act as you will as long as you don't endanger the existence of the world. Think about it. To experience again?

[///////////]

Why you? Well, to be honest, most of our compatriots are either too proud, too busy, or too them.

[/////]

Are you sure? You won't be able to change your mind until the repairs are done.

[/]

Thank you. Truly you are magnanimous.

The hardest part about being alive you found was the matter of names. You know you had one once. You had many once. But they weren't you. Not anymore. Only now you had one again. And it was you. Or at least the You that is You. Your name was given to you by your family when you were born. It was the very first thing you remember hearing, and every time you went to bed growing up you would repeat it until you fell asleep. Afraid that otherwise, you would misplace it during the night.

You are

[] Kimberly Juderías, eldest daughter of the Baron of Ros. Your parents are overly doting, always trying to protect you from the harshness of living on the edge of civilisation. You have two younger brothers, twins, who are five years old. Your father received the Barony via his elder brother, the Duke of Nores as a wedding present. However, the Barony borders the Wastelands where nothing grows other than spirits of destruction. Because of this life is hard for most and you have been brought up isolated from others. All this is going to change, however. Your cousin Alexis Juderías is joining the Acadamy of Illescas this year, and your uncle the Duke has offered to sponsor your own entrance as well.

[] Lepus Iota, a spirit of nature and youth. You recently entered a contract with Arvo Soro, Mage Knight of the empire of Aurora. Via your contract with Arvo you gain new power and knowledge, however until the moment of his funeral you are bound to him and share his mortality. A mortality that you are beginning to wonder about as Arvo leads you into a war with the neighbouring kingdom of Stasopis.

[] Kagane, fourth of twelve children to a farming family. You have three mothers and two fathers, although only you among the family know that this is uncommon. Your family has farmed your land for untold generations along with the other clans. However, during the lives of your parents, the harvests have declined and so you and the second and third children, Suka and Hiroaki have left home to make your way as Delvers. Those who descend into the world of gods and demons for treasure and glory. You all know it is a dangerous life, but the other option was letting your younger siblings suffer more.

[] Write In. Subject to approval.

[X] Elydra of Tyrmac, a young elven princess from a surrounded an impoverished land sent as a hostage to a neighbouring kingdom. Haggled over ruthlessly your father handed you over gratefully, rather than exchange his precious son, despite possessing an impressive mana pool. As you cross the border away from everyone you know into a land that sees you only as an exotic oddity you're starting to think that you've been short-changed quite severely.

@RyubosJ bare-bones outline, sent to secure some kind of deal, has lots of MP etc. is an elf, fish out of water potentially some weird stuff, but also lots of opportunities I hope.

Seem reasonable/what can be done to flesh it out?
