"It is the 41st Millennium. For more than a hundred centuries the Emperor of Mankind has sat immobile on the Golden Throne of Earth. He is the master of mankind by the will of the gods and master of a million worlds by the might of his inexhaustible armies. He is a rotting carcass writhing invisibly with power from the Dark Age of Technology. He is the Carrion Lord of the vast Imperium of Man for whom a thousand souls are sacrificed every day so that he may never truly die.Yet even in his deathless state, the Emperor continues his eternal vigilance. Mighty battlefleets cross the daemon-infested miasma of the Warp, the only route between distant stars, their way lit by the Astronomican, the psychic manifestation of the Emperor's will. Vast armies give battle in His name on uncounted worlds. Greatest amongst his soldiers are the Adeptus Astartes, the Space Marines, bio-engineered super-warriors. Their comrades in arms are legion: the Imperial Guard and countless planetary defense forces, the ever-vigilant Inquisition and the tech-priests of the Adeptus Mechanicus to name only a few. But for all their multitudes, they are barely enough to hold off the ever-present threat to humanity from aliens, heretics, mutants -- and far, far worse. To be a man in such times is to be one amongst untold billions. It is to live in the cruelest and most bloody regime imaginable. These are the tales of those times. Forget the power of technology and science, for so much has been forgotten, never to be relearned. Forget the promise of progress and understanding, for in the grim dark future there is only war. There is no peace amongst the stars, only an eternity of carnage and slaughter, and the laughter of thirsting gods."
What is this about:
I had a story idea about a couple of months ago, It was basically a create your own race and write them into the WH40k verse as a new race, originally I was thinking of adding a race like the Saiyan or the Viltrumite race as a sub-species of human or an entirely new race with a different look and add them into the setting, however at the time I didn't really know much about WH40K (and I still don't) but after searching for CF stories on ff.net I came across a new story about a Cf Insert raising the 2nd Primarch and I was once agian hit with the Idea again so now you get this.
How does It work?
Basically, at the end of each chapter, you'll be given about 100CP that you could use to purchase one of 3 rolled perks from the CF v3 JumpDoc or Bank for later use. later on when the story is more established I'll be giving 100CP to Apocrypha's that add to the lore but otherwise, the perks will be expressed in either of 3 ways racial abilities, technologies and knowledge or natural Warp abilities with all that intails.(Note that the abilities won't be expressed to their full extent in every member of the race but in most cases It can be trained to full proficiency)
These are your racial abilities/resources/tech base basically the main defining feature or resources available to anyone of your race(First Picks free):
(A)Blank II (Essential Body Modification Supplement) (200CP)
Abilities which gather information about your past, present, or future do not work on you. This includes scrying,
divination, mind reading, and even cold reading and lie detection. This ability not only affects your immediate person but
also provides a degree of protection to items and people around you, making it difficult to predict the past, present, or
future of any group you move with or vessel you travel on. If you have the Essential Mutuality perk, your affected
companions gain the full benefit of your Blank perk even if they are acting independently.
I: You are immune to all supernatural and technological abilities and devices which perform the functions described
above. You simply do not register to such abilities, though your own abilities function normally. Purely mundane skills at
cold reading or lie detection will be less effective, but still function to some degree. Dsc:
Sch/Ass/Arc/Sup/Lch/Bea/Dra/Exp/Hea
II: Even mundane versions of the above items do not function against you. Furthermore, you are able to detect when
someone is actively attempting to discern such information through supernatural or technological abilities or devices and
feed them false information of the type they expect. Thus, you can feed an image of yourself asleep in bed to a scrying
spell while you're secretly across town beating up thugs or you can have a truth detection spell return 'truth' when you
are telling a lie. Note that this does not protect you from compulsions to tell the truth or share information directly.
Additionally, any items which you create have a measure of this protection, making it difficult to predict actions directly
relying on those items and making it impossible to detect the items themselves with most supernatural abilities.
(B)Songstone Composer (Ar Tonelico) (200CP)
Another 1m cube. This produces the essential elements of Song Science, in the form of 1 ton each week of
Songstone rubble, a crystalline ore of Parameno, Grathnode and Ardel. By itself, Songstone converts sound into magic,
storing it until a threshold is reached and it explodes in a burst of wild energy - making them effective improvised
grenades. Extracted and refined, their true potential can be reached. Parameno absorbs sound as magic, Grathnode
emits it as magic, and Ardel acts as a semiconductor.
(C)Inner Linings (Final Fantasy XIV) (100CP)
A customer came to you one day with a strange request for you to make a leather jacket which would be thinner,
enough so that it would take multiple jackets to equal the bulk and weight of a normal jacket. As strange as that request
was, when you watched him enchant the various jackets it suddenly made sense. Instead of trying to enchant a single
jacket multiple times, he would wear multiple jackets enchanted once. But you can improve on that idea. Instead of
attempting to craft multiple thinner jackets, you've opened up inner linings in existing pieces of work. As you predicted,
while the ease of stacking enchantments has gone up, the overall durability of the item has dropped by a bit. Perhaps
with time and better materials, you could rectify the second point. Having so many inner linings also helps quite a bit
when it comes to deeper pockets, which is a nice side effect.
Notes: sorry I didn't update before was, I was having a busy day and was also catching up on the WH40k lore and finding out how to do polls
Edit: I have a basic idea of what should be done in the next chapter for each perk option chosen but feel free to pm me suggestions. Also, Suggestions for the name of Our race (I'm Think Celestials but that seemed unoriginal) would be appreciated I'll probably also put the most liked ones on a poll.
