If you read it on a phone that can't display runes, it shows a buch of boxes and letters W H A T

I haven't pinned down a clear runic alphabet from this page yet.

Hmmmmm.

The obvious solution is to start hitting Grimm with the inactive Transistor. Surely that will help!

Additionally, the Sword Brothers went and fucked up royally, which is a compelling case to get them to start actually telling Jaune when they're going to do shit like this.

Yeah ok so, lets not touch divine or magical stuff ever again shall we?

No touchy the magical nonsense.

But how will we ever get better at dealing with magical nonsense if we don't poke it?

I mean next time it'll be done lying down on a couch or something with Ozpin aware of what's going on instead of happening on a spring loaded launchpad, and we'll be ready for things to go screwy, but seriously we need to get on top of this before we inevitably run into someone who uses it on the other side of the battlefield.

Well that shit got weird. Dammit Blue/Bracket, why the hell did you poke the magic?
The same reason they hack literally everyone's Scrolls and talk to an Atlesian military robot even while fully aware of the risks that could hold for their creator.

I've made it clear that the Transistor does not work on normal human lines of thought, this is just the first time it's been explored in stark detail- enough so for you to piece together one of its fatal flaws.

...Seriously?

Are we now going to remain dead weight for the foreseeable future?
No, no, you're still armed, and Jaune can still use the Transistor like, well ok not a sword, that would be a very generous definition of a sword, but as a weapon in its own right.

You're definitely nowhere near as efficient as you should be, but it's nothing you can't fix once you're, you know, conscious.

Huh. Outer Wilds reference?

While I appreciate you believing I put that much depth into it, the runic text is a 1:1 transliteration using a virtual keyboard and some quick doublechecking to make sure I didn't use the Q or C keys, which do not, in fact, make runes for Q or C because those don't exist.

Secondly, fuck that was filler text to judge how it looked I meant to replace that goddammit-

Ok, real fast- it's the poem from Outer Wilds, yes, and we're leaving the discussion there because a friend who reads this quest wants to go into it completely blind and I've already fucked up my promise to not say a thing about it to him with this. There's no real deeper meaning to it, it was just the first, kinda short thing I could find that fell into a repeatable rhythm and actually fit the vaguely Norse vibe that's been permeating anything to do with the old world.

The quiet shade
Across old bark
In the ancient glade
It's always dark

I, apparently forgot to find something to replace it with, and the cat's out of the bag now so it's staying, I guess.

Its actual purpose here will be talked about, pretty soonish, I imagine.

I understand the appeal of a meme vote, but how about we don't attack the sysadmin while he's too unconscious to tell the nearby UberAI that it's not actually an attack.

Why, Transistor? Why? Why did you think it was a good idea to poke some inexplicable, absurdly complex and powerful soul with a completely untested soul-poking-cannon without even discussing it with Jaune first, when just talking with Ozpin would have at least been an option?

Better yet, doing it literally right before being launched into a forest filled with Grimm in a major test without any aid from instructors?

Jesus Christ, they are never allowed to live this down.

Also, thank you very much, Lumen. You may very well have just saved Jaune from getting killed through Blue and Bracket's stupidity.

Simple: we ask Ozpin for some help in figuring out magic stuff (or rather, our ability to understand and interact with it) so that we can possibly help Amber.

[X] Fake Smelling Salts- You can create up to seven distinct smells from your fingertips at will. One of 'em's gotta do the trick.

Well, that went sideways fast. Weiss' night time visit though ;)
